21  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we have two bubbles in one year? on: October 24, 2013, 07:26:29 AM
Plus all of the weak hands have been scared off the exchanges after the bubble burst in Apr. Now there are a lot of people holding their coins no matter what.
Is there any sort of a basis for the strong hands / weak hands theory? Like, something tangible / observable? So many people state this "fact", but it just seems like a wild assumption to me.
He/she is only trying to justify for himself/herself why it possibly can't crash this time and that it's completely different now. Dangerous.
22  Economy / Speculation / Re: If it's a bubble, it's less likely to pop this time... on: October 24, 2013, 07:20:11 AM
If it's a bubble, it's less likely to pop this time ... and even if it does, it won't crash as low as last time.
In other words, "this time it's different"?
Uh oh... Roll Eyes
Yeah, been seeing a lot of "new paradigm" talk, although people appear to be conscious not to come right out and say it, literally.  Grin
People were chanting the very same thing during the April bubble. :-P
23  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hardly any 'bubble' talk this time on: October 23, 2013, 10:49:22 PM
I do say we're in bubble. But nobody seems to listen or care. Too much frenzy here.

Yes, we might go up to 300 but only to pop much lower.

I believe most here realize it is bubble. All you need is look how fast the price is rising last days, you dont need to know anything else.

Yeah, history is repeating itself once again. It feels like April allover again. The possibilities to spend bitcoins obviously aren't increasing with the same speed as the bitcoin price is. And if you look at MtGox's order depth you can see that there are historically few bitcoins for sale, which drives up the exchange price.

Got mine today. Looks really good, but I wish the B was printed on both sides.

Those are two completely different languages, and I don't know why you would even try to use them together.
26  Other / Off-topic / Re: Getting back into coding, still kind of a newbie... Buzzfeed.com? on: June 29, 2013, 01:19:00 AM
The site could be written in almost anything, and it doesn't really matter. If you want to learn how to code, just pick a suitable language and do stuff.

Python is a good language to start with since it's very versatile and has a big community with lots of modules and frameworks. A very popular web framework to Python is Django. But learn the language, regardless of which you start with, before you start diving down into frameworks.

Another popular language is Ruby with its web framework Ruby on Rails. However, I have personally never touched Ruby.

PHP is also always an option. But I'm questioning if it's such a good language for anything really, considering the vast amount of better alternatives. Here is a very good page with lot of criticism against PHP: http://me.veekun.com/blog/2012/04/09/php-a-fractal-of-bad-design/ And here is some PHP lulz: http://www.reddit.com/r/lolphp/

Apparently was the box for inputting the fee removed in version 3.09 [link]. Now it's instead calculated in the underlying library bitcoinj. How does this work? Is it still possible to do transactions with a fee of 0 BTC?
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What is the minimum transaction fee? on: June 28, 2013, 01:35:18 PM
The minimum transaction fee is 0BTC.
This transaction just takes longer (from a few hours to a few days).
Is there a risk that it never arrives? Could I respend it if it doesn't arrive?

No, it just takes some tiem Smiley
Is the transaction time possible to predict based on the transaction fee? And is it possible that a transaction with a fee of 0 BTC gets handled right away if there is a low number of transactions in the network?

30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / What is the minimum transaction fee? on: June 28, 2013, 01:16:35 PM
The other day I made a transaction of 0.01 BTC and instead of the default transaction fee 0.0005 BTC I entered 0.0002 BTC. The transaction went fine and I believe it took as long to arrive as with the default transaction fee.

What is the minimum transaction fee I can pay? And what could possibly happen if it is too low?

Bitcoin isn't a currency. A currency is a liquid asset that can be exchanged for physical goods and services. Unless you have a hearty coke habit, bitcoin is a security to you (the investor). The price is driven by 100% demand. The nature of bitcoin's structure causes this you can't "ease" bitcoin. A security with pure speculative value (read: a stock without a company) is doomed to be a bubble in the short term and worthless in the long term. Look at how it moved 20-30% in 12 hours on LOW VOLUME. The only thing that could establish bitcoin as an actual "currency" is if businesses started accepting it as payment in a widespread manner, with the shadowy past and clear pump/dump history, good luck with that.

5 crashes during 2 years of bitcoin. I find that kinda funny. Tongue http://www.forbes.com/sites/timothylee/2013/04/11/an-illustrated-history-of-bitcoin-crashes/

Kvevrulering? I have no idea what you are talking about. Anyways, the thread is about Cornucopia foreseeing the crash happening right now.

Remember that Bitcoin is 4 years old and evolves. We earn Bitcoins as artists and we like it. Soon there will be places to spend them in natural way, it's only a matter of time and mass efect. When 125 years ago Berta Benz drove her husband's invention, it was just a curiosity with no practical use.
 Buy a horse!

There are places to visit to spend your BTC:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade

And this is even an incomplete list. Still I think you would find plenty of things you would be interested in, also stuff for females. Smiley
I hope you are having a great time then with all your BTC and female stuff! Amazing times

Lol?

So you are seriously still holding onto your coins? Why don't you sell? It's a catastrophe. I like the concept myself, but it obviously doesn't work atm. You don't have to marry the project. It's completely possible to sell your coins and buy them back later when it's more stable and useful.

Imagine Swedish or Norvegian Krown with such devaluation, what would happen?
This currency isn't for weak-hearted and weak-minded.

It is still early doors - volatility is to be expected.

The reason doesn't matter, it doesn't make it any more useful.
