21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Panda B3+ Review ! on: April 06, 2017, 07:40:33 AM
nice but still to expensive , i can build a rig of 480s same hash rate for 1600 six cards including psu and risers and i can easily
sell the cards back since i have the original boxes and waranties not sure what the big deal is on these pandas unless you have money to burn I guess

nice first I want to see that if you can get the same hashrate with your 6 cards comparing to the panda with 8 cards. Just not possible Wink And if you try to build a proper setup with 8 gpus by urself, I'm pretty sure that you will be at the same amount like you have to pay for a panda

Claymore does pretty well, as well as sgminer. This is not a matter of which miner, its more which software u are using to create a service.

just create a windows service for your mining software and you don't need to login anymore at all Wink There are a couple of software out where you can convert a normal exe to a windows service (yes also with paramters)

just be really carful here in case of scam.

I got my miners two weeks ago, all full of dust and one even without a power supply. So its totally clear that they have been running since a couple of months already! Another one has already two broken GPUs. Not a really trustworthy company! BE CAREFUL! I wouldn't recommand to buy a miner from them right now! Detailed review will follow in a couple of days, no worries!

Great stuff first of all :-)

Is it possible to add this miner as well:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=647251.0

Claymore's CryptoNote Windows CPU Miner v3.5

Would it be possible to choose if I wanne mine with my GPU and CPU or just with GPU? That would be awesome.
As well I would love to mod some paramters from the miners, is that possible to add too?

Thanks anyway for your great work Smiley

30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Custom ROM from Eliovp - Panda Miner XMR up to ~6850h/s on: February 10, 2017, 01:34:17 PM
Hi everyone,

I would like to make a review about the Custom ROM from Eliovp for a Panda Miner (http://pandaminer.com).

I'm not going to say that its  a must to buy a panda miner but I can really recommand it for that money and easy setup Grin
For myself I'm running already a little panda miner farm (5 pandas, 2 already running, 3 on progress) and planning to expand up to 10-15 miners!

So if you have already a few pandas or you are planing to purchase some go ahead and read this review  Cheesy

IMPORTANT: The rom is not free and it only makes sense to buy if you are the owner of a few panda miners! For the price you have to contact Eliovp. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=236770

Setup:
Hardware: Panda Miner with 8 GPU's http://pandaminer.com/default/product_detail?id=2
OS: Windows 10 x64 LTSB 2016 English.

This review is based on two custom roms from Eliovp. But lets start with the out of the Box rom:

Build out of the Box (shipped Panda Miner with no modification on the rom):

Stock Rom hashrate and power:
With the stock rom I get the following hash rate for Monero

The power consume during the mining with the stock rom:

Custom rom from Eliovp moderate version:

This Custom rom from Eliovp is a great deal between power consume and hashrate  Smiley
This doesn't touch the core and memory clock.

With the noderate version rom I get the following hash rate for Monero

The power consume during the mining with the moderate version rom:

Custom rom from Eliovp full speed version:

This Custom rom from Eliovp brings still a better hashrate than the moderate one but for that it consumes a few extra watts.
This has a higher core clock and memory clock. Still no problem with temperate at all!

With the full speed rom I get the following hash rate for Monero

The power consume during the mining with the full speed rom:

Overall:
Really great ROM from Eliovp once again which is worth every penny  Cheesy!
All Custom roms from Eliovp are stable as a rock on my Panda Miner Windows machine (it will be the same on default image where the panda miner comes with!).

Quick overview:

  • Panda out of the BOX: Monero ~5880h/s ~945W
  • Panda moderate rom: Monero ~6550h/s ~947W +12%
  • Panda full speed rom: Monero ~6850h/s ~992W +17%

Once again, this rom is not free and I think its clear why Wink So if you are intrested in getting the custom rom from Eliovp just send him a PM:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=236770

thanks for reading and any feedback is appreciated:)

best regards
slim

UPDATE 1:

ETH Hashrate with full speed rom:
~246mh/s consumes 1190w

unplug all cables pull out the batterie, wait for 5minutes. Just turn it on again. this helped me all the time so far Wink

I just can confirm that they are out of stock now! We have to wait for the next 2-3 weeks until the next waves is ready for delivery (hopefully).

@kemo6600 you could write a PM to eliovp, I'm pretty sure that he has one or he could make one if not Wink
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Review of Panda Miner coming up. on: February 02, 2017, 10:34:52 PM
do you have a possibility to check how much power it consums with this mod? Smiley
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Review: Custom ROM from Eliovp - RX480 Nitro+ 8GB (Samsung Memory) XMR ~850h/s on: February 02, 2017, 04:17:34 PM
@philipma1957  the "idle" is that high because I use the two cpu's for mining as well Wink Those are quite heavy cpu's and they consume a lot but I'm not talking here about the CPU. Its all about the GPU's  Cheesy Idle time is just to show how much power two 480's are using.

So basicly you can say a RX480 Nitro+ 8GB consumes around 156,5w and generates a hashrate of 845-850 h/s for monero. (603w - 290 / 2). This is not bad but you cannot compare this to your panda miner! Total other GPU cards (MXM!). Ah and by the way, a panda miner is using around 390-400w in idle modues  Tongue

There's just no way a RX would be taking 300w here.

I get about 100w per RX for 740h/s with common bios mod + undervolt, 40w for intel skeleton. 640w~ for 4450h/s~ with basic mod, 5100h/s~ with more advanced for very small draw raise.
I do *way* better than pandaminer. The interest in pandaminer lies elsewhere.

If you're not going for easy deploy/stack. Custom rigs are much cheaper, more hash. I don't know how the MXM fare if/can once undervolted to save power. At stock the draw is pretty damn high.

Do you have some screen shot from the power consuming or could you make some? I guess you have 6 cards on your rig? With the panda miner (8 cards) I get 6500h/s~ and power consuming is around 930w. I don't think that you will get much better values here but if you can proof that I'm intrestest to know how you could do that exactly.

best regards

PS: Somebody are willing to share his claymore settings for ETH? Because I'm not mining this Wink THanks

Hi everyone,

I would like to make a little review about the Custom ROM from Eliovp for a Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ 8GB with Samsung Memory.

On my machine I'm running the lates build of Windows 10 x64.

GPU Overview:

Power consume for my system (idle modus, no miner is running):

IMPORTANT: The rom is not free and it only makes sense to buy if you are the owner of at least 10 or more cards! For the price you have to contact Eliovp. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=236770

Stock Rom hashrate and power:
With the stock rom I get the following hash rate for Monero (2x Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ 8GB):

The power consuming looks like that when the miner was running:

Custom Rom hashrate and power:
The hashrate for Monero with Eliovp's awesome Custom Rom (2x Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ 8GB):

The power consum with the custom rom is almost the same, just a few w's more:

Overall:
Really great ROM from Eliovp! It is stable as a rock on my Windows machine. I didn't had a singel crash during the last 5 days! Just really awesome. If you have a few rigs with a few GPU running it is definatly worth to ask for the price for this rom Smiley You will not find any public rom which is as good as the one from Eliovp. Please contact him and not me! Here you can send him a PM:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=236770

Eliovp would have some other custom rom (for the same GPU) for a linux machine where you can get a hashrat up to 880 h/s for monero. On my Windows machine this wasn't stable enough on linux it will be Smiley

thanks for reading and any feedback is appreciated:)

best regards

lol its not a device that you should run in your bedroom Wink

You can not just replace the fans, with quieter once because than it could be that the MXM cards are getting too hot but philipma1957 did some modification to get it a bit quieter but still not enough to run it in a room where you stay at the same time
