21  Other / Meta / Re: Install Tapatalk To Give Easier Access to Mobile Users? on: December 26, 2012, 03:17:29 AM
Please install Tapatalk. I see in an earlier thread that theymos said it was a ton of code, and a massive pain to look through, but it seems to be a simple mod for SMF now.
22  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Headsup! Someone is trying to hack into Blockchain.info wallets on: December 23, 2012, 03:28:51 PM
FYI: I tried logging into my blockchain account from my desktop (Mac) the other day and received a message that my account was locked for 4 hours due to too many login attempts. I knew something was amiss as I had not tried to access my account in days (I then accessed my Blockchain wallet from my mobile app and transferred the funds to an offline wallet).

Yesterday, after closing my desktop browser and attempting to open my blockchain wallet again, I received the following script notification:

*** Serious Error - Javascript inconsistencies found. Maybe malicious -
Do not Login! Please contact support@pi.uk.com

I had previously downloaded and installed the browser plug-in that checks the script so I suspect this was its way of notifying me of a script problem. I had also previously set up my 2-factor authentication so I believe this was able to protect me. I use the Firefox browser.

Now again this morning I received an email notifying me that a login attempt was made at 12:05 AM this morning.

Has anyone else had this issue? Anyway, not sure what to do next. I've emailed piuk on Friday but have not heard anything back yet.

I tried logging on from my phone last night and was getting a few messages about my IP being banned due to invalid login attempts. It definitely wasn't me. Switched to wifi and it worked fine.
23  Economy / Currency exchange / [WTB] 3.35 BTC for $50 ppUSD on: December 23, 2012, 11:44:31 AM
Already taken care of, feel free to close this mods.

I know ppUSD is frowned upon but I'm trying to get this in a hurry as a Christmas gift for a friend. I tried LocalBitcoins but the guy won't have any Bitcoins until early January, and hitting up people in the order book on #bitcoin-otc has proved unsuccessful.

I'm willing to do smaller trades (perhaps three, one of 1.35 BTC, and two for 1 BTC) if a few different people are willing to step up for this.

That would come to $14.92 per Bitcoin.

Thanks in advance,
lulzplzkthx

Congratulations, you've won! Send me a PM and we can work out how we are going to go about this transaction. I've all the details on the domain and code typed up and ready to go, so it's just an issue of escrow/no escrow or who sends first. Include your email in the PM. Smiley

30  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING - Blockchain.info is NOT SAFE on: December 19, 2012, 06:49:26 PM
What I understand from reading the first thread:

1. MemoryDealers accidentally had Bitcoins sent to nethead's Bitcoin address, rather than his own.
2. MemoryDealers asked for the Bitcoins back. A reasonable request, but he did mess up, and it is his own fault, with all due respect.
3. nethead lied about having the Bitcoins.
4. MemoryDealers accessed his account information on another server (Blockchain.info) for the purpose of verifying that nethead did, indeed, have the Bitcoins. It is worth noting that MemoryDealers did not have access to nethead's Bitcoins. He posted personal information of nethead's and his key to disable two-factor authentication, albeit without noting that's what the phrase could be used for.
5. nethead said the phrase was his secret key.
6. Huh
7. Shit storm.

So basically, MemoryDealers was angry and did some things he shouldn't have. He shouldn't have posted nethead's information, and he should probably have just sucked up that about $50 of his was gone.

But nethead also should have paid up. nethead should not have lied above all else.

And everyone's Blockchain.info funds are safe. Those can't be stolen from you by an admin just through database lookup. I will continue to use Blockchain.info for this reason.

Err, woops, I can't edit on this forum, but the views / clicks in the admin panel refers to two different things: If you click a site's description on the site, it counts as a view. If you click on the actual link to the site, it counts as a click. The description pulls up another page with the full description. This is mainly for SEO purposes, but also to make sure the list doesn't get unwieldy-looking with long descriptions.

There is one problem with your site - it doesn't include the Minecraft Faucet! (link in my sig).  Wink

I'm curious about how long your site has been generating 0.015 BTC per day from CoinURL.  Also, how many pageviews (daily) do you get?  In your admin panel screenshot, it shows Views and Clicks - can you describe what those numbers mean in this context?  What is the difference between views and clicks for each of the site links?

Link has been added to the site, thanks! Smiley

Since about mid-November the site has been receiving a lot more page views and CoinURL has been bringing in this amount of money. Operation Fabulous reports around 400 to 500 page views a day, with 650 page views on December 12.

We did just have a downtime due to server issues for about a day, and some of these stats have been a little lower than normal, but I expect this to change quickly.

This auction will end in 5 days. Smiley

Just wanted to say sorry for the downtime -- had an issue with our host. All is good now.

John Maguire is the one to earn the 0.1, He is doing all the work.

Seriously don't worry about it. Tongue It's just 0.1 BTC.
36  Economy / Services / Re: 0.1BTC to find me a video on: December 16, 2012, 07:15:00 PM
Its funny but I didn't consider owing it. The torrents show up in google, don't know if they work, I have never run a torrent node so I won't know. BTW torrents, I live in a crappy restrictive country with a crappy ISP, oh wait, we all do. Misses Megaupload so much...

Torrent searches show up, but no actual torrents. Smiley
37  Economy / Services / Re: 0.1BTC to find me a video on: December 16, 2012, 07:12:30 PM
0.1 to Luno

Who thinks I should re-post to youtube to screw with 'em? or vimeo at least

I was thinking of re-posting to Vimeo. Smiley You should do it.

were you able to download the stream? or get from torrent, let me know i could get to you

I can download the video from Facebook, but it's still crappy quality (appears to be 240p.) I can upload it to my VPS and link you if you'd like (no BTC required.)

Here's the link. Please right-click and save as, and let me know once you've got it so I can delete it. Smiley Or if you don't want it, so I can delete it.

Additionally, I can't find any video torrents, only MP3 on What.CD. Sad

39  Economy / Services / [WTS] Odd jobs (writing, transcribing, Craigslist posting, you name it) on: December 16, 2012, 06:54:06 PM
Hello,

I am interested in doing odd jobs for a bit of Bitcoins. My rates would be 0.5 BTC per 500 words for articles, 0.5 BTC for 15 minutes of transcription (from either a video, or an audio file) with every minute after that counting as 0.05 BTC, and Craigslist posting could be discussed.

Let me know if you're interested, or would like something not listed here. I also know PHP and Python very well.

Also, I'm offering free escrowing. I'd like to get some positive Bitcoin-OTC ratings to offset the little blemish I got.

Thanks,
lulzplzkthx
