21  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Lost bitcoin with bitWallet on Iphone. Please help on: August 01, 2014, 06:13:46 PM
I have bitWallet on my Iphone and for some reason, there is an option in the program to delete the private key.  I accidentally did that and just wondering if there is any way to restore it and get the bitcoin back out or if it is gone for good.

If you have any ideas, please let me know.  Thanks!
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Guilty Verdict In Silk Road Case Could Doom Internet Freedoms on: July 19, 2014, 12:48:06 AM
If you break the law you will probably be charged and tried. That has very little to do with internet freedom.

Yep and if you live in NY, you should already be arrested by now.

Seems like that does have something to do with freedom....when you are rotting in a jail sell for selling .05 BTC to someone and you failed to get their SSN and verify their address.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Here's Scientific Proof that Bitcoin is just before Major Adoptation on: July 06, 2014, 07:50:49 AM
Well bitcoin is probably at .001% of the population now, so it has a ways to go to make it to 10%.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Calling all Bitcoiners: SPEAK OUT against CIRCLE! on: June 15, 2014, 02:48:38 AM
I don't have a problem with it.  A lot of people (most actually) aren't technically adept enough to keep their own bitcoins safe.  So this might not be a bad alternative for them.
25  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LocalBitcoins competitor - suggestions wanted on: June 15, 2014, 02:25:46 AM
Yes localbitcoins does need some competition for sure.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This girl is really dedicated to bitcoin... [NSFW Image] on: June 12, 2014, 06:55:14 PM
She got 43 btc for that picture  Shocked , People are very generous when it comes to naked behinds with a bitcoin address tattooed on them...

Sorry I'm a retard ...  Grin

Well we don't know that as it could also be their regular BTC address that they move BTC in and out of for other reasons.
27  Bitcoin / Mining / Boycott GHASH.IO/CEX.IO permanently on: June 12, 2014, 06:52:46 PM
Someone else just posted a thread similar to this one, but it bears repeating. We need to have one or two of these type threads on the front page EVERY DAY until we beat back this corrupt organization that can utterly destroy bitcoin if we aren't careful. (And ok can't destroy it but can irreparably harm it and cause the price to drop 80% or more overnight).

The bitcoin community needs to take this issue MUCH more seriously. It's not an area where we can afford to be lazy about....or try to be polite and "nicely" as them to please don't do a 50% attack...over and over and over.

Boycott them permanently and encourage others to do the same and keep doing so, well into the future.

I encourage others to post threads like this too.

And here is a very telling link:

29  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What would be the best method to purchase 60,00USD of Bitcoin? on: June 09, 2014, 01:27:06 AM
Depends on how anonymous you would like to be, etc.   You can buy from someone on llocalbitcoins, but would make sure they have excellent feedback and also of course meet in a safe location.  You could also break it down into smaller transactions, back to back..like start out with $500 to make sure goes well..then $1000, then $2000 and then $5000 at a time or however you feel comfortalbe.

I have done this and bought $51K of BTC and all went fine.  Just be methodical about it. I also arranged to meet at a location near where I live, so I didn't carry all the cash on me at once. I brought about 15K and traded that and then went home and got the rest after I was sure the seller was cool.

If you do it through Coinbase or Bitstamp, you may or may not get a better rate, but you will have to verify your identity and all that comes with it.  Nothing wrong with that, but just a consideration for some people.

Its going down before my eyes!
I didnt think it looked good with all the forks happening yesterday with the masternodes.
If they get cheap enough i may buy some incase of the small chance it bounces back.

I cant even buy them if i wanted to, Cryptsy has halted trading.

small chance?  It already bounced back about 50% return in a few hours.  Sorry you missed it.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What is a BTC charting site that has sound alerts for Time & Sales? on: May 21, 2014, 02:32:35 AM
I used to like bitcoin.clarkmoody.com and the way you could set the sounds it would play when there was an uptick or downtick in the BTC price.   But of course Gox went away and this service is no more.

Is there a comparable type site that uses Bitstamp order book and Time and Sales??

Thanks for any help!
33  Economy / Speculation / Re: Forget China, India will be next on: May 15, 2014, 06:47:44 PM
Yes India will be next.....next to ban bitcoin and crush the price.
34  Other / MultiBit / Re: multibit safe? on: May 14, 2014, 11:14:08 PM
In theory less safe because it is easier to perform a Sybil attack but in reality the difference is negligible and Multibit is perfectly safe.

And the best thing of all is that MultiBit has a serious bug which can lose your bitcoins easily!

Yes I bailed on Multibit..I hated to but was just losing my coins too much and not worth the risk.  I was able to get them back but was too much work...but don't lose them to begin with of course.

I don't have time to read all this, but is this another "pedophile" who likes young men?  Or young women?

Before long pedophiles will be doing senior citizens, I guess.   Huh
36  Other / Off-topic / Re: It's official! The Bitcoin Foundation has an accused pedophile on its board. on: May 10, 2014, 06:44:52 PM
"accused"?

Let me know when he is convicted of something.

Until then STFU.

"alleged"

"alleged"

I love how this guy wants to convict people himself and doesn't want to be associated with anyone who has even been ACCUSED of a crime.

Don't you get that is what the gov'ts and Power Elite want...they want to get people on trumped up and false charges and have the sheep run away.

We don't need Patrick on the Foundation...good riddance
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PBOC reaffirms Banks to Quit BTC activity... (drop 4/24) on: April 25, 2014, 11:50:46 AM
I am really confuse.  does this kind of news still affect bitcoin price?

No it is totally a coincidence that 5 minutes after this news came out, the bitcoin price dropped 15%.

And all those other times were coincidences too.  So no it doesn't affect the bitcoin price.

And when Gox shut down and BTC dropped 20%, that was a coincdence too.

LOL
39  Other / MultiBit / Re: What happens to my BTC if my computer melts, explodes, etc? on: March 02, 2014, 12:03:36 PM
But make multiple backups and if you encrypt them as well (with TrueCrypt, PGP, etc), then you can even upload some to the cloud.  But put one on a flash drive and mail to a relative or bury it in the yard or whatever.  As long as it is encrypted, and you can decrypt it, then it shoudl be safe.

Removable drives are ok but online accounts get hacked all the time and are not safe. If you store it on a removable drive the thief has to a) get the drive b) brute force the password. If you put it online then getting the wallet file becomes that much easier. Your wallet then becomes a brain wallet with a human generated passphrase.

If you set a good enough password, it isn't going to be "brute forced".  Mine is a fairly long nonsensical sentence with extra characters and numbers, etc.  And remember you would have both a password on the Multibit wallet itself and and also on the file encryption, so that is two they have to break into...and PGP hasn't been broken yet and neither has TrueCrypt to the best of my knowledge.

If you upload it to the cloud, I would zip all of it into one file and encrypt that...change the name to ___.avi or .jpg or whatever and then people wouldn't even know it is a bitcoin related file.

Yes Bitfinex is my favorite exchange, but after the Mt Gox debacle, I did withdraw about 1/4th of my funds from Bitfinex, just to cut down on the risk of the site disappearing like Gox has.   If there was some kind of quarterly audit and accounting done, to show it isn't a  fractional exchange and everything is as it should be, I would certainly deposit more funds back in.
