"Please update wallets immediately to avoid losing coins"

I don't understand this part. It's a softfork right?
Are people really losing coins or is it just something to say to make people update?

If that's it, haha pretty creative I guess.

I think it's just hyperbole to get people to update, but maybe miners could get screwed if they don't update?
miners will not be forked off of the network. Segwit uses BIP9 versionbits

Well with wrong code they hard forked their coin the last time.
Everyone had to downgrade.

So I'm asking, is this the Segwit with wrong code & just hardfork because YOLO or is it a cool marketing stunt?

Well after we reach the 75% threshold the new rules will activate and old version blocks will start to be orphaned, so there is a danger of coin loss if you don't upgrade your wallet. This is the release with the correct code.

Softfork means it is backwards compatible with old wallets. So are we hardforking (not compatible with old wallets) instead of softfork now?

Old wallets will continue to sync with the chain and be able to issue transactions but newly generated blocks coming from old wallets (ie blocks with nVersion 4 or less) will no longer be accepted as valid after activation. This is the same behavior as Bitcoin/Litecoin.

Awesome, much appreciated

ok, got it straight with 0.11.0.1 except nothing works smooth.
can't import old keys, only wallet.dat made in 0.11.0.1 works in 0.11.0.1,
will wait until dust settles itself

Old wallets should work just fine in 0.11.0.1, I have upgraded many nodes myself. What is the error you see when you try to upgrade your wallet?

Roadmap to sucess. Accepted 2000 VTC for my hard work.  Cool

I could have done that in under 5 min. And I'm no graphic designer. Just someone who whent to school and had to do that sort of thing for assignments every once in a while.

I try not to respond to the trolls but my god.

This thread is getting trolled big time. Either obvious or subtle they are at it hard.

Vert was not always my favorite coin, but it is now, and it took me a while buying it cheap before I got to the 500,000 plus ownership over the last 3+ years. My group owns well over 1,000,000 total.

But once we found the botnet, changed the algo, and hard forked right away I was sold for life.

What these trolls are up to is pathetic and quite honestly what is wrong with the internet these days. I've been trying my best not to feed these trolls by just ignoring the problem but its almost time we think of a solution.

I'm thinking of starting a new main vert thread where we moderate it strictly to keep out the FUD and the fake "this or that doesn't work.... oh wait it does" posts. Almost all are from fake and obvious noob accounts. It's at its worst and most obvious when they mention other coins in the middle of their FUD posts. Or when you look at their previous posts and you can see that they are obviously all for other altcoins. Thats where the noob accounts with 4 or so posts are just too clear in their true intentions.

They are trying to keep the price down during this accumulation phase and I don't mind that for now be honest. I like picking up more cheap vert for the future. But in another year plus after the halving we need to weed out this crap.

The sad thing is all our trolling could easily be coming from one single person. My experience with forums over the last 30 years (I remember the BBS days) is that its usually one person making 90% of the problems.

Our core is strong and pretty soon (well actually give us a year more to buy cheap) my team will start to bring some major publicity to vert. Thats pretty much all we can do but believe me on this. You will see very well produced vert adds across major cities on the west coast of america. We are currently making connections on the east coast as well. While this won't be on the level of TV adds or even radio spots, if you live in a major city on the west coast you will see them.

Vert deserves the hype but lets wait till the halving. I think it would do all us founders a service to be able to keep picking up more on the cheap. I could go on forever why but lets just wait it out till the halving. I know a year is a long time for you guys but the people who really waited it out with btc are rich now.

Vert won't make us rich because of hype. It will slowly gain a following because of a multitude of reasons. Its a good coin but good things take time. This will take some time still.

It's jamesl22 (the lead dev and OP), my account got hijacked and I can't get back in so I'm metalicjames for now. We'll for sure be making a new ANN thread when we push the second soft fork update.
