Buy some Bitcoins now at the price that you would get for your cards on eBay. Post them for sale to cover the Bitcoins and your already ahead.

But then you won't have the fun of having a crazy piece of kit in your room whirrign away kicking out loads of heat, part of the rig building/using is about the fun of it forsome of us not just the profit.

Have to admit I love tweaking things in the set-upto optimise it for both power and hashing.

The only issue with that, I fear, would be that they would develop their own form of cryptocurrency, different although very similar, and market it to the mass, mimicking bit coin, but in turn, owning the shares from the very beginning.  They would have the media power to cause an explosion that would make them trillion airs,

Certainly they would market it as a 'trusted version' of bitcoin and get regulators in to try to tarnish bitcoins image. Then maybe try to DDOS nodes such as MtGox to shake peoples confidence in bitcoin and boost how 'safe' there ersatz one is.

Smells like a scam.

Things like this always pop up more when the price is rising as people tend to have a fear of missing out.

I have several rigs with 3 7970's on the m/b and one on an unpowered riser and it works fine.

Do you use a x16 riser? I've been wondering about using some smaller (x1 or x4)unpowered ones.

Does anyone know which foundry these ASICs are being built at? If so we could ring them up and have a thirs person verification. If they are building the ASICs then it's pretty sure the rigs will appear at somepoint but if no foundry has heard of them then it doesn't look good ...

If BFL say which foundry are producing the ASICs I'll put a few pre-orders in.
