21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Experience with ShopemNL or EthereumMiner.eu? on: June 10, 2017, 01:30:36 PM
Looks like this guy took my money and run. I had requested a refund and he has continuously ignored it. I'm taking legal action against this guy.

Hey Guys,
I'm wondering if you've dealt with these people before?

They seem to be the same person/organization.

I've made a purchase of a miner through their website and they have not sent me any updates on my order nor have they responded to emails.

I bought some ETH rigs from him. Packaging was bad, GPU's were bent to an angle. I took some while to make thing proper. Then one GPU failed and that's it. Replies to my emails stopped. No warranty, no RMA.

My suggestion, ask before you buy not after Smiley

Who do you know of then that ships ready made rigs in Europe?

It will only get worse from here.

Would a strategy of mining ETH until it's not viable and then switching to another easier mined and more profitable coin be a good strategy?

Yes, I believe that's what 99% of eth miners (including me) are planning to do!

And as a rough estimate...how long does the hardware remain usable for mining alt coins in general...I'd assume 18 months or so?

After the bomb fix is in or with it slow? OR, will POS be implemented first?

Hey, so I thought I'd try and buy some Vertiaseum tokens. So I made an account with metamask, put a small amount of eth into it, and then deposited some of that ETH into Etherdelta. Im kind of frustrated right now because my deposit doesnt show up under my Etherdelta balance, but I can see my deposit here https://etherscan.io/tx/0x0210732d5d957f523d0fadfb3e8eaeebe408d8c2157d99c30208a3fce87ba7c7 has anyone else had this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks I reset the cache but that did nothing. Luckily I was testing with a fairly small amount. Be careful with this site.

I posted this video

I've used the exchange already with no issues.

I still think the ICO price was too high for VERI, and the current market price.

From the way I think about it, the higher the price of VERI at start, the less return for my money that I get. If I buy 10k worth of VERI at $70 and it goes to $85 I have only made ~$2,000 profit.

If I buy 10k worth of HumanIQ ( not sponsoring just taking another project) and it goes from $0.16 to 1 dollar, I have made $50,000.

Which one is the better investment in terms of % RoI for my money spent? Not saying I do not think VERI is a good project or that it does not have potential. If the price was $7 each I would buy 10k worth tomorrow, but since it is $70, I will put my money where the returns have the potential to be much great.

Real world example, would you have rather had 10k invested in ETH at $100, or 10k invested in Stratis Token at $1... do the math.

You're still not getting it ... good luck getting VERI before it's $500 and then $5,000 then $50,000 then $500,000 then $5,000,000

 Wink

Oh I get it fully, I thought long and hard about investing in the ICO and decided against it. I sincerely hope that the price does go up as you suggest and that you ICO investors get rich. If I miss out I miss out, but that doesn't mean I am upset about it. I chose to not invest after doing my due diligence.

The point of the ICO is not to get rich. It is to fund business activities and at the same time get the opportunity to have access to the research and bots. I personally work with banks. The biggest theme of all in the IT space right now is automation. It does not matter if it is some form of network automation or software automation. Everyone is looking to do it.

If a bank does not get in on such a venture, they will loose BIGLY.

Here is why:
- They have to pay people to run services manually, while the competition is automating and reducing costs
- If they implement their own proprietary system, it will:
      - Be way behind in terms of development
      - Cost them MUCH MUCH more money to implement
      - Have less accessibility to the public, less transparency, and less trust

Using this system, it is only a matter of time before one major financial player takes advantage of the capabilities here. Once that happens, it will be a real raid on the technology. People in the FinTech industry are ruthless man and will fight til the death for a market advantage. If they are behind, they'll pour all kinds of resources to catch up.

It will take a good amount of time for this to play out. But, when it does play out...it will be yuge.

Do we know the exchanges that plan to list it in the future so we can make sure we are able to get some on a more liquid exchange.

The current price for these tokens is insane. You may buy one for around $70. Given the total supply of 100.000.000 Veritaseum this would already be a $7 billion project.

I'm interested in this project but I think people don't realize what price they are paying.

For the overall potential of this, I think the price is quite small.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 07, 2017, 12:57:44 PM
Do when know which full exchanges will host VERI so we can make sure we have an account there?
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Mining still valid on: June 06, 2017, 07:38:38 PM
There are plenty of other profitable coins to mine once eth goes POS.

That does not mean there is still not risk involved.

But currently I believe you are very likely to reach ROI before POS lands.

After POS, assuming the hardware can still mine a coin, it can be re purposed, right?

ROI should be met within about 2 months or so...Nobody knows when POS comes, but in 2016 people said it would already be here, then people said Nov 2017...so whats the consensus?
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Ethereum Mining still valid on: June 06, 2017, 07:01:31 PM
So, I'm seriously considering setting up several mining rigs and putting a good amount of money into them. I've used the calculators, know what I'm buying, know the expected hash rates and all that.

The question I have is, how long until the PoS issue makes it's way to putting ETH miners out of work so to speak? Is this something to even be concerned about?
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 05, 2017, 07:53:46 PM
They can simply buy it from us (or from you). Think of other successful software vendors. Microsoft has most of its software concentrated at its firm, but has a vested interest in spreading it as far and as wide as possible. We're no different.

Sorry for the one question at a time thing. It is just this is quite a cool concept and I have to play around with it in my head a bit. Another question...

You'll have bots which automate the trade process, which is very cool. However, I guess not all bots are equal. In terms of their equality, I would assume the quality of their automation/trades has to do with their programming. Is this assumption correct?

Would it be safe to assume that a bot that performs better than the average, would have a high gas value for processing it?
How would one determine if one bot is better than the other? Trial and error?

Thanks in advance Reggie!

Is the user "Masiah" part of the team? Can you confirm Reggie?
Masiah is Veritaseum's first intern. He's been invaluable in assisting in chewing through the massive email (and soon, voicemail) cue that has built up. He's also very talented and I'm quite proud of him :-)

You are correct to be cautious, for Veritaseum email has been spoofed before. If you get a suspicious email from the Veritaseum domain, check the security cert. and make sure the entire root domain is spelled EXACTLY as you see it in our website - or - email in to support using direct links from our site (do not Google search it - very risky) to confirm.

I've got a question...

In one of your videos you mentioned that your research is what you get when one buys VERI. So, lets say that there are a lot of buy ins from individuals and institutions and your plan works well. Over time, wouldn't the VERI ultimately end up concentrated at your organization? How would new parties who have interest in your work get access to it in that case?

Looked at the EtherDelta website.  My thoughts:
Didn't see a bid/ask or any offered price for VERI on EtherDelta even though the VERI ticker did appear for me using the coordinates we used for ICO transactions.
Cheers!

VERI has not been added to the list of swappable tokens for etherdelta. You may wish to contact the admin to let him know you are interested in this Token. I see that BAT has been added just recently so he is updating the list frequently.

Using this link you can see VERI. You have to enter the public address for it and all that but it comes up and viola...somehow 10:1 with ETH Smiley
