21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum is a good investment move on: June 19, 2017, 08:56:09 AM
The ether is positioned not as a crypto currency, but as a platform for building decentralized applications.

In my opinion, the ether will not get much popularity as a platform for decentralized applications because of the huge volatility of all crypto-currencies. Think, 3 months ago 1ETH cost $ 20, now 20 times more expensive, this means that now to work in a decentralized application on ether, you need to spend 20 times more money. And further can be even more expensive. And imagine that someone will make a forum or social network on the ether, and in order for the user to show some kind of activity - to write a message or like a message, then he will have to pay for everything... This is insanity...
22  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: AddrStore.com: Unique service for getting Bitcoin vanity addresses P2PKH & P2SH on: June 19, 2017, 08:19:59 AM
I am not talking about the service you offer, but the business model. Do you think there will be or is a demand for vanity addresses ?

As the populace of bitcoins grows, many will want to personalize their business. Now the demand is small, but in the future, demand will be.

Considering the cost of domain renewal, cost of hosting and maintenance of the website, will it be a profitable venture for you ?

At the moment, the project exists at the expense of investments and donations. But I think in the future will bring profit.

I think that in the future bitcoin will be used as one of the constituent parts of the gold and currency reserves of each country, along with gold and the strongest fiat currencies.

We are announcing that the AddrStore.com service now supports the P2SH vanity addresses.
26  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Vanity P2SH address generator! on: June 13, 2017, 07:24:50 AM
There aren't any yet that generate P2SH vanity addresses.

It's strange, why there has not yet appeared a online service that would generate P2SH vanity addresses, is there really no demand for them?

Perhaps the matter is that oclvanitygen does not support the generation of P2SH addresses, and using vanitygen for this would be very slow and inefficient ...
27  Economy / Services / Online services for generating P2SH vanity addresses? on: June 12, 2017, 11:09:15 AM
Tell me what you know online services for generating P2SH vanity addresses. Is it possible to use split-keys for such addresses?
28  Economy / Services / Re: Will generate you a vanity P2SH address! on: June 12, 2017, 10:04:23 AM
Which wallets now allow you to import and use P2SH vanity addresses?
29  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Vanity P2SH address generator! on: June 12, 2017, 09:51:32 AM
Can someone know if there are online services that generate a P2SH vanity address on demand?

Good day!

I've seen this wallet address from the list of my referrals in a faucet, look at the last 3 character: 3GZLKxx7SgYkUXarSRNULxjxRQf4P3DAY3

I thought the addresses only starting in 1 can be generated for vanity address, isn't that a multi-sig address? If that is possible, how?

afaik before you base58encode it, instead of 0x00 at the beginning, you start with a 0x05 (prefix/version number)
this results in a leading 3 address
e.g.
05.payload.checksum -> base58encode -> 3.....
00.payload.checksum -> base58encode -> 1.....

Thanks for the explanation. But I'm still having trouble understanding codes regarding addresses.
Can I just do that using the vanity miner?

Yes it is possible.

Here's the command to generate a vanity address with the "3Love" prefix:

./vanitygen -F script 3Love

How long does it take to generate a vanity address with at least 9 character pattern?
I think there are a lot of things here which are much more significant than 9-char pattern in front of bitcoin address

to each his own... Grin
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rare multisig (P2SH) address hall of fame on: June 08, 2017, 03:05:52 PM
Yes, it meets the requirements. But you need to generate the address yourself and confirm the ownership right.
Do you really think that nobody can run  ./vanitygen ?  Grin

How long does it take to generate a vanity address with at least 9 character pattern? As far as I know, oclvanitygen does not support P2SH addresses. The main idea of this topic is to demonstrate P2SH addresses with high complexity and prove the right of ownership.

I meant this script:
OP_HASH160 hash_of_the_redeem_script_with_OP_CHECKMULTISIG OP_EQUAL

address: 3FuckUpFfo28hxXb89C19Az2kfGh7JhGY4
redeem script: 5141043dd510b19ab761ab758d94704615e31730508154f82ed2ba91222e154b8e3da16e3dfd772 0c7dbb43f61e00d391e7b3a83ff7a60710293d635f4230a25f89b0e51ae
decoded: OP_1 pubkey65 OP_1 OP_CHECKMULTISIG

this address/script met your requirements  Grin

In this thread, let's post only the addresses that have the OP_CHECKMULTISIG command in the script.

have a look to an old thread

35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rare multisig (P2SH) address hall of fame on: June 08, 2017, 01:13:33 PM

for example you can create P2SH-addresses from the script <pubkey> OP_CHECKSIG
...

And you can create anyone-can-spend addresses without ECDSA stuff at all
...

In this thread, let's post only the addresses that have the OP_CHECKMULTISIG command in the script.

There is a thread for rare P2PKH addresses, but multi-signature addresses (P2SH) can also be rare.

For addresses with a multi-signature, I propose to allocate a separate thread because these are addresses of a different type and require another proof of ownership.

Proof of ownership can be presented as:

multisig address: ... (N-of-M)
description: ...

address #1:
public key #1:
...
address #M:
public key #M:

signature #1:

It's great to see another idea for bitcoin vanity address, but i would rather buy good GPU and use it to create vanity address than spend my bitcoin on your website considering the expensive price, also i can use the GPU for altcoin mining as well which is more profitable in long term.

For the complexity of the vanity addresses that we have available, the price is very low. Even on the most powerful and modern GPU you will have to search for a vanity address (with the complexity that we offer) for several centuries.

Furthermore, i think most people wouldn't risk using bitcoin vanity address created by 3rd party.

If the vanity address is created using split-keys, then the risk of using such an address is minimal, or rather, it is equivalent to the fact that you generated the address yourself.

We are also able to generate addresses using split-keys: https://addrstore.com/?category=Personal_addresses

On a second thoughts, I just want to ask just for some cosmetic feature we need to compromise the core security ?

Can you explain what you mean by "to compromise the core security"?
