I like your idea, this is something which can be further worked on.
Merit Sources are just as 'centralized' as the 'Default Trust'. Plus if you take into consideration things like bias, time spent by merit sources on the forum etc. It isn't the best way to distribute merit or the efficient one, to say the least.
What I had in mind was a sort of stake system... So Let's say 20,000 merits monthly would be distributed to people who 'contribute' to the forum. Each 'upvote' will get you X amount of stakes, Depending on the rank of the member who upvoted your post. To prevent spam, You could exclude upvotes from newbies, jr.member and members. The "sMerit" will function the same way as it does now.
You would get 1 stake if a Full member upvotes your post. You would get 2 stakes if a Sr Member upvotes your post. You would get 3 stakes if a Hero Member Upvotes your post. You would get 4 stakes if a Legendary user upvotes your post. You would get 5 stakes if a mod upvotes your post. You would get 10 stakes if an Admin upvotes your post.
This sort of system will consolidate for things like bias from merit sources and time which is required to 'lookout' for merit-worthy posts. Let's be honest here, Many boards are 'under-merited' because of the reasons I mentioned.
Been wondering why I was stuck at newbie rank for a while even thought I tried making decent contribution and after doing a search, I just stumbled on this thread. Like your idea, it would give decent chance for more people.

Thanks, will do! To be honest, I have been chatting to the owner since Wednesday and he has been very supportive of my hesitancy to do business with a unknown supplier, to the extent of answering many many questions as well as sending pictures of the actual units that will be shipped. I will provide a more comprehensive update once I receive the miner but for now, the experience has been very good. I eventually paid with BTC, so that cost an additional $100 but it was much better than the other conventional methods requested by the suppliers on Alibaba. Considering I am from South Africa, the trade assurance fees were +/-$150, the conversion fee from Rand to Dollar via MasterCard or Visa was approx. 2.5% of purchase price and Alibaba charged another 2.4% as a transaction fee. There probably was some other surprises as well. Hopefully I don’t get screwed by customs so waiting anxiously.
Like I said, I will provide the full breakdown when I receive the miner...
Could be interested to know how your experience goes. I actually went the route of ordering a first unit with BTC from an Alibaba verified supplier before purchasing more. Single Z1+ with Bitmain psu and DHL express shipping to Canada ended up at 0.66 BTC. Binance was showing at 4315$ but google was showing it as 4215$ at time of purchase. I'll post feedback about how it went in a few days.

Also, I wanted to confirm what was mentioned earlier in the forum. Setting the frequency to 1000 and the "auto-frequent" to "1" in the JSON file has greatly improved my stability and hash rate. I have no idea why that would be the case, but it is working much better now. Been running about 18 hours with no hiccups at 6.85 gh/s.
So it may not work for everyone, but I have seen a noticeable improvement.
Mind telling me where you go it from and price? Local retailers is charging a stupid premium (around 6200 usd) making it a no go choice for something not even in stock. I got my Zig Z1 from here: https://leiqing.en.alibaba.com/?spm=a2700.8443308.0.0.36803e5fGjkX2dIt was pretty fast shipping (4 days), pretty fast response times and they will work with you on customs forms. Also they are VERY good at trying to help with issues... (they aren't the manufacturer, but they will try to help) Thanks. Already received a reply from them but it seems BTC payment isn't an option. Anyone have used one of the seller on https://www.asicminervalue.com/opportunities?Review for asicminermarket.com seems off and I'd have hard time sending so much btc without legit long-time feedback.

Hello.
I'm looking for feedback from trusted forum members about stores where I can purchase ASIC and know I'll receive my order.
I know there's a few but can't find much info about people using them:
Cryptodrilling ProMinerz CoinMining Central Mining Store 5111 MiningCave Crypto Supply
If any of you used those in the past, I'd be interested to know which one of those have done well and which one to avoid (if any).
Many thanks!

part of your issues is likely using two power supplies you need to use one or you may end up permanently frying it
I was worried too, but everyone I spoke to that has been doing this for a while said it is fine as long as you don't use 2 PSU's for 1 hash board. Its running great now, just LOUD. Suprnova (verge) Lyra2Rev2 pool is horrendous, 15-20% error rate. 1-4% on MPH. What hashrate are you getting ?

Asking for customer info but not providing proof of your own identity, nor any legal company in a serious country?
Sounds like another scam trying to pray on people looking for a real project.
False promise and cartoon admin.

CryptoBridge is purposely supporting scam coins even when they are called out to the team simply because they want to keep taking fees out of it. When warning people about some scam, they delete my warning. Worst exchange with absolutely no moral. http://prntscr.com/kifzjiI had warned about Foin coin scam. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4414872.msg44060978#msg44060978For this particular coin which have been running for over 2 months, they have taken at least 0.6 btc fee. Who cares about users, let's keep getting some fee outta those suckers! So you mean a gas station should ask the driver for what purpose is he going to use the gas before fueling the car? An exchange is a middleman, it's not their business to research the purpose or the team of a project nor are they able to foreseen if a project will turn out to be a scam. Yup it's their duty to do so. See how all major serious exchange require validation of the project. Any of your dumb analogy won't work as outside crypto, you have legal recourse if you are screwed over by scammer and false advertising. Plus, if CB was legit, they would not have removed my warning to user on discord about the scam coin, just so they can keep getting fees out of it.
