21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Fastcoin - FST - The Fastest coin so far in the market - is launched!! on: May 29, 2013, 08:38:57 AM
Fastcoin you should learn from Chinsu, when you inevitably go to post your google docs exchange thread to try and sell of the premine for your scamcoin do it under a different forum nick, people will be less suspicious. They still won't buy it but depending on how much desperation you're prepared to indulge yourself in (I'm guessing a lot) you may get the odd sucker.

For anyone with any sense, don't mine this coin it will only give it more credibility than it deserves.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who else is sick of these copy/paste alt coins and their constant releases? on: May 29, 2013, 08:33:24 AM
I had really hoped these pointless clones would stop coming out, it seems the flood refuses to abate, but at least they aren't getting the attention that some of the earlier ones like Feathercoin and Chinacoin got.

yeah people are starting to cotton on, be interesting to see the next evolution of taking advantage of peoples greed

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google Docs Exchange for SXC on: May 29, 2013, 01:42:21 AM
should be able to give negative trust for this behavior imo
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google Docs Exchange for SXC on: May 29, 2013, 01:10:56 AM
hey guys Chinsu just wants to give an example. For example, his example was 0.3BTC / 1k

so for example, you can buy his 2 million coins for only 600 BTC :p

28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Strategies for protesting worthless coins on: May 29, 2013, 12:35:56 AM
I'm not 100% sure where I stand on scamcoins, but at the moment I'm leaning towards CBF opposing it, I'm not on a crusade. Better to just use the time / energy in identifying whether or not the creator is trying to make a real coin or pump and dump
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much money do they make? on: May 29, 2013, 12:24:05 AM
What amazes me is the people who lost their shirts on FTC, CNC, etc... keep coming back to throw even more money at new scam coins.

Seems there is a fortune to me made off these idiots.  Must be mostly white collar professionals whose wives are not watching the checking account

I mean ... China Coin ??  Seriously Huh Seriously Huh? Very low IQ move to buy 10 or 100 BTC worth of that turd

And sex coin?  If you're buying that please grab a magic marker and write "IDIOT" on your forehead

this

yes good idea lets all start witch hunts on the forum  Cry

and if people are supporting a alt coin then its of value to them. its not always about money. sometimes it the value in the learning experience whether that be learning to mine or to trade.

if my alt coin are worth nothing down the road doesn't mean I got nothing out of them,

I totally agree about learning mining / trading. These new alt-coins are what has ultimately motivated me to figure out how to solo-mine.

You've discussed what new coins can give, but ignored what they can take. Do you believe that a greed-intentioned coin could damage the community or scare aware more people than it educates?

One last question, do you think labeling a request for opposing discussion on a topic as a 'witch hunt' is fair or correct?
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Strategies for protesting worthless coins on: May 29, 2013, 12:11:49 AM
although, in all fairness, a coin does have to start somewhere.  It might be worthless, but it should be given a chance to live and die on its own.

good point and I don't disagree. Can you share what attributes a coin would have for you to:

1 - support / mine it
2 - ignore it
3 - oppose it
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Strategies for protesting worthless coins on: May 29, 2013, 12:06:10 AM
The purpose of this thread is to discuss potential strategies to help people identify and oppose worthless coins.
Obviously whether or not a coin is worthless is purely subjective. This is an open thread but in the interest of deliberate discussion I suggest the following questions / format (until a better alternative is offered).

1 - COIN IDENTIFICATION
1a - What in your mind constitutes a coin being worthless
1b - What principles or best practices make a coin worth supporting
1c - Do morales play a part in your choice of coin to support / mine
1d - What do you expect from the creator(s)? i.e. is technical proficiency, reputation or post count important?

2 - Strategies for opposition
2a - What's the best method for opposing a coin that you perceive as being worthless
2b - Does posting in the coins thread ultimately help or hinder the coin - i.e. let the thread die or keep bumping it whilst trying to offer discussion

3 - SHARED PURPOSE
3a - as a community do we have a shared purpose or obligation?
3b - does supporting a coin you perceive as worthless help or hinder the community or make no difference?

DISCLAIMER

I have observed and participated in the pump and dumps since FTC/ CNC and WDC. At first my stance was the typical free market line - if people want to buy a worthless coin who am I to stop them? I still kind of feel this way, but after the most recent sexcoin release I have started to wonder what are the broader implications for the community with this trend?

If we're at the point where anyone can just release a coin, give themselves 2 million to start, elect themselves the central figure to 'distribute' these coins with almost 0 transparency before starting a sales / trade thread 2 hours after release then I feel we have a problem.

In closing, this thread is not about me or whether IM MAD BRO, but about creating a dialogue to address if we have a problem, if so how to address this problem and help the community grow and improve.

Forgot 1 question. Was Hazard paid, to create this coin?

that could go under 1d IMO. Hydoponica from the other posts of yours I've read I feel you're certainly opposed. Do you have some more in-depth strategies or opinions to share?
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Strategies for protesting worthless coins on: May 29, 2013, 12:04:07 AM
Those threads are like a quick list of people to ignore. I don't know how many ignores it takes for the link to get yellowed, but maybe people will hesitate if they realize they are selling their reputation for SomethingCoins.

can you elaborate please? This sounds like a legitimate strategy.

Haha what a saint.

He is. That should prove he is not a greedy "botnet" hoarder like some of you seem to think he is. All of these coins will go to bounties and to people who help promote the coin. The difficulty will go up, and you won't have to worry about so many orphans with a low timed coin. Smiley

sounds like you're the perfect demographic that these coins target. How do you know all these coins will go to bounties? Did you consider the possibility that maybe he wants to create that appearance, to attract people like you to the coin so in 2hours - 2 days he can dump all his coins at your expense?

"help this coin grow"

but there is no description about this coin, what it does or if it even features an innovation...

37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Sexcoin - coin for adult industry on: May 28, 2013, 10:55:33 PM
how disappointing, the first time I manage to get solo mining going and it's for this joke of a coin.

2 Million pre-mined coins, a lot of people are bringing this up but there is surprisingly a lot of ' ITS OK GAIS HE'S USING IT FOR GIVEAWAYS' kind of attitude. If this is you, don't delude yourself.

I turned off my rigs from this coin before going to sleep - despite having mined 10k in about 2 hours - and I urge people to consider the following before supporting this coin

- if crypto's are decentralized, why would we want 1 person - the op - deciding who and how 2 million coins get spent
- is the OP fully transparent with the 2 million coins? Do you think perhaps he could give away even a full 1 million coins then dump the other million after it gets even 1-2 days traction?
- the OP started a SXC exchange thread almost 2 hours after release ....
- the OP has almost 0 technical proficiency. Ask yourself what motivates him? Making Crypto's better or thinking that he is doing some sweet MARKETING CAUSE I CALLED IT SEXCOIN LOL - then dumping
- this shouldn't be called a pump and dump, just a dump
- just because you label a coin USED FOR ADULT STUFF LOLS - doens't mean that it's an innovation. What technical innovation does this coin have that makes it more suitable to be used for adult related products / services?

from a behavioral perspective at least it will be interesting to observe. I would hope that people were not stupid enough to buy this coin but time will tell.

I've watched the whole FTC / CNC / WDC mania and even participated in the pump and dump. At first I didn't understand why people were so upset, just thought well if people want to buy worthless coins let them.

After this coin I start to understand why people rage a little more.

TL DR

- OP thinks naming a coin 'SEXCOIN' will pass as innovation
- OP elects himself the central figure to 'DISTRIBUTE' (i promise i'll give away the full 2 mil guys, look I gave away 50k right before I started the exchange thread to sell off my remaining 1.5 mil)
- OP has no interest in developing a coin, just a marketing exercise to try and profit from

if we are a pack with a shared purpose of creation, development and innovation then in order to survive we need to attack instability and weakness. This coin serves nothing other than the OPs greed.
