202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Time Travel Kill Bitcoin? on: February 15, 2015, 06:43:38 PM
Well apparently going back in time is impossible, so no.

Of course it is. Ever met a time traveller?

OR.... They keep it super-duper secret in the future and only the government or the person who found it first uses it.
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: no comfirmations with fee on: February 15, 2015, 06:30:07 PM
it's confirmed now

there have been a lot of max sized blocks lately, probably the reason it took a while.

Your tx was at 1722pm utc, there was only one block that wasn't full between then and now, that being 343315.  If you want faster confirmations, increase fee to 0.00011

(also it was 9xx bytes, so like at the very back of the queue)

The fee is fine for the size, its just that we currently have a little back log due to the max block size and the high number of transaction queued up. This is usually resolved fast, but it happens more often lately. DnT warned about this.

Edit: the worste Ive seen lately was at the end of january with ~12k transactions unconfirmed.

Can I ask you where you found that graphic?
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STAHP USING ONLINE EXCHANGES/WALLETS on: February 15, 2015, 06:20:07 PM
I'm about sick and tired of hearing everyone's sob stories about how they lost their coins in an online exchange incident. THE WHOLE DAMN POINT of bitcoin was to cut out the middle man and prevent anyone but you from tampering with your money.

Stop using online exchanges...

You are the reason you lost your coins.
You are the reason as to why people believe bitcoin is failing.
You are the reason why bitcoin gains negative publicity.
You are [part of] the reason why bitcoin has lost a lot of value.
You are the reason why bitcoin is so extremely volatile.

Stop using online exchanges...

There has -never- been a successful attack on the bitcoin protocol (ie: wallet bruteforcing), but there have been -countless- successful attacks on online exchanges and wallets. Lets do the math: (insert common sense here). Done!

Stop using online exchanges...
Stop using online exchanges...
STAHP USING ONLINE EXCHANGES!!!

You seem to forget that online exchanges basically GAVE bitcoin its power/value.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Somebody is mining at Microsoft's 138.91.94.19 on: February 15, 2015, 06:08:30 PM
Maybe somebody is just running a pool on Microsoft Azure?

Yeah, the azure platform would be my guess as well.
206  Economy / Speculation / Re: $230 USD now! on: February 15, 2015, 06:02:55 PM
Bter just lost 7k coins, this may slightly cause the down trend, but the whole situation would be up

May I ask how you follow all this news and make a conclusion out of it?
I'd like to follow the market and learn to make predictions myself by watching what happens when certain news hits.
207  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a Bitcoin node ? and how to setup one on: February 15, 2015, 05:56:43 PM
I have 2 GB of RAM only and its impossible for me to run Bitcoin QT.

Whoa, when did that happen? I remember running it on a 1GB RAM machine...
May be a false memory though?

EDIT: Ah, seems like I'm not the only one.
208  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: February 13, 2015, 08:33:59 PM
Hey!
I just made 52 posts this week.
I just opened this https://bitmixer.io/signature.html  and checked that how much will i get paid. And  on the site it showed me that it has to pay me for 52posts.
So will I get 0.0007*52=0.0364 or will I only get 0.035BTC?

It's mentioned in the OP.

- We pay 0.0007 BTC per post (max 0.035/week).

Yes. And there's no rollover, so next week the counter will be 0 again.
209  Other / Meta / User spamming the same post on: February 13, 2015, 04:26:37 PM
First off, excuse me if this is the wrong category to place this in.

User Blazin604 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=302265) seems to be spamming the same post constantly. Is this the right place to report this?
210  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Trading Simulator] A fun & free Speculation Game - 66 participants on: February 13, 2015, 04:24:03 PM
This is the second thread I see that spam in... Maybe hacked?

212  Economy / Speculation / Re: $230 USD now! on: February 13, 2015, 03:41:24 PM
I'm watching the price closely. It's really exciting seeing it go up FAST!

238.3 now.

EDIT: loads of resistance inbound @240. Not much resistance downwards, though.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin For Flight Tickets? on: February 13, 2015, 11:38:48 AM
Its now possible!

With this: http://bitforum.info/t/bitnet-and-uatp-partnership-will-allow-users-to-use-bitcoin-for-travel-tickets/264?u=thebitboss

250 airlines? That is a pretty big number.

Anyone here already using bitcoin for flight tickets?

That's awesome. I hope to become bitcoin rich and buy my own private jet. Painted in bitcoins.  Grin
214  Economy / Services / Re: (Hawaii Only) (Preferably Businesses/Corporations) Need your taxes done? on: February 11, 2015, 01:11:47 PM
Hmmm.... Don't think there's many Hawaiians here that coincidentally need their taxes done.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POLL - Have you been robbed any BTC? And what OS do you use? on: February 11, 2015, 12:58:53 PM
Nope. Never been robbed.
I use a Macbook as my "hot" wallet, but it's password protected twice, and encrypted.
So I think I am safe.
216  Other / Meta / Re: Can we have a ponzi section added to the forums? on: February 11, 2015, 12:53:01 PM
I agree with the banning. Isn't it proven to be a scam?

It's indeed getting ridiculous. One even had ponzi in his name, and still got people scammed!
217  Economy / Gambling / Re: I am leaving guys. :( on: February 10, 2015, 01:45:44 PM
Sad news Sad
"Never gamble more than you afford to lose" you should have kept most of your BTC out of gambling sites. Too late now.

I don't think I'll ever get to own 17 BTC. It's a ... big amount.

Good luck and.. find your way back here some day.

Just keep growing your bitcoin slooowly, you'll get there.

220  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: February 09, 2015, 09:24:34 PM
Guys!? Do you really think that someone will open casino to save 0.? btc on sig.camp. and destroy opinion about website?

They may pay first 1-3 weeks, maybe 1 or 2 weeks more but after that, if they are a scammer, they will run with the money they got from Casino. It's a usual thing but I am not saying they are scammer. All I can say is 'wait and see' or 'ask for escrow'!

Yep. I've seen it happen loads of times. People never learn.
