201  Other / Off-topic / Re: Noticing sign of gambling addiction before it gets worst on: March 31, 2024, 01:43:16 PM
I think the best sign of it is you starting to encounter a lot of problems, like financially I mean if you have control over it you should not experience any kind of issues or problems playing since you have it under your control your gambling on money that you could afford to lose, I mean even though you lose the game you know your limitations and it's still a calculated risk whatever happened and still entertainment is still on the goal here not just profit.

If you are experiencing financial issues, you are getting frustrated, your chasing your losses or probably your doing things that are not really your thing like for example your running away from your home just to do gambling, you are canceling your work or your career so that you could do gambling it seems not right for sure, Its a pretty good indication or sign that you are getting addicted to gambling, and I think if you are getting addicted to gambling you're surely gonna know it, if I'm addicted to like cigarette I know it on myself that I'm addicted to it, I just cant stop myself to do it, surely most of the addicts wanted to stop but they just cant, its gonna need a long progress, at least some kind of program in order to cure addiction it's already better to seek professional help in order to cure addition.
202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: March 31, 2024, 10:10:21 AM
I was just playing Hi-Lo, making small dollar bets, if it's 5 number card I select higher card and win, if it's 10 number then I go with 'low' and win.

Then I was greeted with Ace card, minimal possibility for equal card right (i.e, Ace), so I go all in, and guess what happens, the result is Ace means I lost the bet.

Then I have all sorts of thoughts blaming casino, like do they manipulate the result of the game when user goes all in. I am sure they are all fair, it's just that the possibility of losing the game may be minimal but it's never 0.

I would say that it's not actually a bad idea or wrong move at all it was for sure kind of reckless in a way betting everything on one bet, but if you know that you have a higher chance of winning than losing then I would say that its pretty good bet already if you are a risk taker for sure, I mean its a pretty good chance of winning a huge amount with a lower risk of betting, the reward was surely going to be higher than losing, but in case of probability you have higher chance of winning, but you just got unlucky with that and end up losing it all, but I guess you gonna risk it if you want to actually win huge amount.

There are a lot of times that I did it as well and ended up winning, I mean for sure it was kind of fun and entertainment, there were just times that you just don't want to think about it and just do it, most of the time you will end up winning but not every time I guess, but it was kind fun and win at the same time, I would take that risk if it has a higher chance of winning, anyway, I only gamble a small percentage and I limit my gambling habit so if I lose that money then I lose it, I already consider it lost since I used it on gambling, that is why it's only a small percentage so that I could easily recover from it.
203  Other / Off-topic / Re: Before you start gambling, do some research first on: March 31, 2024, 09:10:07 AM
It's good to have a source of income at first before you start gambling but I want to talk about this even more, do you know that even with your source of income you might be at one spot and not move forward?

No progression means you are no different from someone who have no source of income, I know someone who work so hard, I mean the hard jobs, that I can't even do, but at the end of the month when he gets paid he always waste everything on gambling, as if something told him that gambling is the way in this world for him.

He can't stop this, he can't help it, he is addicted to this way, I knew this after he start going around asking for things that he should be able to afford as a worker, he confessed that he lost money at first but the same thing kept happening for months and I find out that he is risking all his salary on gambling.

Is there anyway to help this person? I have given some advice to start using small percentage of the whole salary and safe the rest but still couldn't, and I don't want to help him to hold his money for him, he is over 28 years old, not a underage.

He have gotten used to this way because he started gambling all by himself and he won some money but end up even fuelling his addiction. What is next? Any tip?

I get that point having enough knowledge for sure before even starting to gamble but in my opinion, there was some contradictions on it, if you already know it then you know that its going to be better to not gambling at all, or else there was going to be no problem if you are just doing it for entertainment, if your main goal was to earn money then you just don't know what you are doing, ended up like most of the gamblers end up losing a huge amount.

I've said it to a lot of posts and I think the best thing that we could give here is just giving some advice to some people who are addicted to gambling, I mean there was really no way around it since it is his own decision doing this kind of things on her life, even though we say that we should on the use or gamble a certain amount that we can afford to lose it wouldn't really going to matter if he's not willing to do that, or he doesn't apply it to his life.

If you are going to ask me an addict is not going to change his life that easily he we are just going to give him advice like just saying to him to change, it's going to be a long process for sure but it all needs to start with him, Its necessary that he wants to change by himself because if he just doesn't want to change there was no way that he is actually going to change if he doesn't want to. We just needed him to realize it by himself if he realized that he could slowly start making some progress on changing and removing his addiction on gambling.

204  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: March 31, 2024, 07:42:24 AM
The reason why I'm not addicted to gambling is because even before I started to play gambling I already understand gambling and its addiction, and my understanding has helped me on how to follow up gambling. Sometimes I ask myself why do people get addicted to gambling, is it because they have no understanding or awareness about the addiction of gamble.

I think majority of people who are addicted to gambling is because they do not understand gambling as beginners, the rules and the side effects of playing gambling excessively.

I think if gambling companies can help to giving beginners to understand gambling and addiction it will help and reduce the rate at which people get addicted o gambling, I mean good lesson for people to get understanding.  Or do gambling companies benefit from gamblers who are addicted, which the awareness of getting addicted can affect their business?.

I guess what we can only do is give them a lot of wise advice that they could use, if you're going to think about it there was no actual way really since they could obviously do whatever they wanted to do with their life and money, if they wanted to gamble all of there money its obviously there decision to do it, We could say that do gamble moderately, only gamble a small amount of your salary and limit it. But they could easily just ignore it anyway so there was no actual way. But for sure it is better to give advice so that they will have a basis and guide on what they might follow, than just doing it by themselves and letting them get badly influenced by some people.

For sure if you go gambling without having knowledge on it, you could easily get addicted to it, and get stressed or frustrated if you lose a huge amount of money, but in the end, it is just all of his choices, I believe that it is better to not gamble at all if your reading this, if you could prevent gambling then it is a higher chance not to get addicted to it. Preventing is better all the time.

207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DCA: the power of little beginning on: March 30, 2024, 06:46:06 PM
I started doing Dollar Cost Averaging after I sold my Bitcoin in the last bull run, I did really make a good amount of profit in the past Bullrun, plus invested on some altcoins that actually give a fair profit with a little investments, starting over again was not really a great feeling after selling all of my Bitcoin holdings, the market price drop and enter the bear market dropping it to I think around 15k$ as the lowest as far as I could remember.

Seems difficult at the start, but I really think that it is a good idea to bough Bitcoin based on my experience of investing in the Bitcoin cycle, when the market is so low it is actually a huge opportunity, so even though there was no huge buy I started as low as 10$ I think most of the time since my salary wasn't really that great at the time, I was just starting my first job I think and its only minimum salary, but I did have the opportunity to join the signature campaign here in the forum since it was helping me a lot in gaining knowledge, plus I'm earning as well, looking at the market price, all of my salary on signature campaigns are going straight to my wallet and I didn't do anything on it just invested in weekly, even though there are times that there were no campaigns that are paying me, I still continue my DCA using my salary as well.

So far it doesn't disappoint it was actually easier to HODL since you only putting a small amount of money, and overtime I could easily see my wallet and portfolio grow to thousands of dollars right now, as long as I'm going to sell at the top it is going to be a guaranteed profit for me, not to mention it was way easier to hold this because I just set my lower salary then use it to buy Bitcoin, so that I still have enough money in able to survive the month. No question ask it is the best strategy that you could make since you cant actually predict the market, using DCA you could lower that risk since your buying whatever the price is.
208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does affilate programs work in casinos? on: March 30, 2024, 05:57:07 PM
I was wondering how does casino affiliates programs work.

I have a friend who is an affiliate marketer. He does affiliate programs for various sectors. For example in the health sector, finance sector, educational sector and so many. It got me thinking after he tried introducing me into it, he is trying to make me change my mind from gambling in 8 ball pool instead i should use the money to get an online affiliate course.

Am curious right now, to know how does affiliates program work in gambling. I know gambling is big niche and they also run affiliate programs, so anyhow have an idea?

I think this was pretty easy for some gamblers who do affiliate programs out there, all you need to do is click a link and then register and create an account on that link then you are going to be included in the affiliate program, there are some cases in the different casino where they just use referral codes when you started to sign up on your account it is going to ask you for your referral code, most of the time it is going to include some kind of bonuses on your sign up especially if you have a referral code, of course the higher reward was on the one who refer you or the account who give you the referral code.

Its not going to be a huge reward for sure especially if you only have one or two people that uses your code, referral program was pretty popular for some influencers out there since they could influence people on registering to a certain platform, it was pretty popular on facebook I see a lot of casino that uses facebook influencers giving them commissions on there referal program, on a lot of streams on facebook you could see a referal code overlay most of the time.

I've seen youtubers earning a huge reward on affialitate program and its a legitimate marketing that most of the casinos uses this day in order to attract a lot of users on there platform.
209  Economy / Economics / Re: How Bitcoin Supercycle could become reality on: March 29, 2024, 11:58:10 PM
Agree with that, the market is surely getting slow it just needed more money in the system in order to break that cycle, but in my opinion, Bitcoin surely adapted a lot in the past years, so Im really expect for the market price to max up to 100k+ in the market hopefully in the Bullrun if it is going to happen. Compared to the past years I would easily say that Cryptocurrency really adapted to a lot of people right now, there are tons of people that is doing trading already, seems easy for them because it is really accessible right now compared to the past years, a lot of influencers are doing trading as well, well probably because there are already a lot of tutorials out there and if you really want to learn to invest and trade on the cryptocurrency you could easily do it right now if you have the resources, with just a computer and internet. I mean the progress was just too fast with this kind of technology.

Probably the cycle is still going to happen related to the Bitcoin halving timeline where the market is going to skyrocket but if we want to break that cycle by reaching another goal, or breaking the past timeline, creating new records something like that like a supercycle, it just needed a huge amount of money, and that is not going to be easy for sure since a huge amount of money is gonna need in the Bitcoin. Still possible with the structure of limited supply of 21 Million, calculate that with the population of the world it is just doable, the possible market price is just too high if a lot of people are going to invest.
210  Other / Off-topic / Re: What if an employee of a betting company misuses company funds for gambling? on: March 29, 2024, 05:12:03 PM
Do you think a betting company or casino will understand and not arrest an employee who has access to company funds and then misuses it for gambling? If this employee claims that he is battling from gambling addiction, will he be considered for a lighter punishment? If you own such a casino or betting platform, what will you do to such an employee, understanding that addiction to gambling can make people make decisions that are unexpected.

I mean addiction is not going to be an excuse for sure to do such a thing to your company if they can prove that you use the company funds on gambling, For sure it is easily going to be jail time for you because you use the funds that are not yours, that is just theft or could be fraud there was no way around it even though you are a gambling addict, I mean if you take a look drug addict, being an addict doesnt really save them from jail, especially if there are the law of illegal usage or drugs, you use drugs which is illegal that is why you became an addict, so the fault is surely yours.

You might probably be able to argue at some point with the judge but it wasn't going to save you, probably you could lower your sentence if you have a good lawyer but it's not going to save you at all. I mean who in the right mind would use the company funds for something like gambling, if your going to think about it, its a money already using it on gambling doesnt really make any sense because your just putting the money at risk, if your goal is just to earn a money, if you have the company funds then just steal the company funds then you have your money end of the story, there was no need to put it on gambling right because you might only lose it, probably because he is already addicted, there was some possibility that he probably just want to borrow the money thinking that he has a better chance of winning but in the end, he just end up losing the bet then he can't repay the funds anymore.
211  Other / Off-topic / Re: Aren't we getting hacked by unknown phone calls? on: March 29, 2024, 05:19:49 AM
There are a lot of cases of these unknown phone calls I always heard the rumors of getting hypnotized on phone calls which is actually pretty scary if you're going to ask me, but never really believed on it seems impossible to actually happen to you, I have a friend who has a story of getting his laptop rob in a bus, he said that he get hypnotize and he willing give his laptop bag to the robber then after a few minutes he realizes he gets rob. I don't know if it is possible on phone calls, but so far I didn't really encounter it, I always answer all of the phone calls on my phone, because if it is an important call on an unknown number I wouldn't know it at all if I'm not going to answer unknown numbers. So far there was nothing happened to me that is a scam.

In my opinion, it is pretty much impossible to get hacked on unknown phone calls, as long as you know what you are doing you are knowledgable enough on this kind of things, plus not to mention that you have multiple layers of securities like 2FA, phone numbers, emails etc. With just talking to someone it seems impossible if I'm  going to think about it, but if you watch the movie Beekeeper scammers are always making this kind of phone calls and people that doesn't have enough knowledge, especially on computers, they are going to manipulate someone to do somekind of transactions, then trick them to send a money or probably giving them the password or some kind of key to their account. That is probably more believable to other cases, what I mean is the indian scammers that do phone calls, which is already operating on large scales.

The bottom line you're going to be safe if you know what you are doing and you are knowledgeable to this kind of thing, they cannot do a thing on you if you already have a idea about it, I mean its not as easy as you think like what you watch on movies, where the moment you answer the phone call you get hacked instantly.

212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The power of HODLing BTC on: March 29, 2024, 03:43:09 AM
I mean if they still have access to this Bitcoin, I gonna give them that one its a real dedication and its not a easy thing to actually do, holding for years is probably torture, I wouldn't say it wasn't smart at all since at the moment the value of this is just to the roof, probably could millions and billion of dollars in today's money, but hopefully they still have access to this Bitcoin because in those years its not easy to monitor it unless they are really aware and have knowledge on what is happening on Bitcoin and intentionally HODLing in years. We could maybe assume that most of this are lost Bitcoin already, I mean its already a common cases, since these addresses doesn't really have any movements for years already.

I watched a YouTuber reviews low-income people who actually become a millionaire before they die, there are some people there who invested 60$ back in a stock market company that is now valued at millions of dollars, which proves how powerful it is to hold on your assets, and these reviews are on stock market, which are companies that takes a long time before even having a huge movement on its price, compared to cryptocurrency that is more volatile that stock. I guess a lot of traders these days was just not patient enough on the market because they just want to make a quick cash expecting do always do a shortcut in the market become a millionaire in a short amount of time.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make your bets when you're tired on: March 28, 2024, 06:51:26 PM
Hi ,

From a personal experience that happened to me not long ago, and I want to share it with you guys.

After a hard day's work, and as usual every night before going to sleep, I make some bets on football matches and then i look for a game to pass some time. That night I wanted to play the crash game, knowing that I used to play it almost every day. I started playing and i was changing the amount of money, the bet from one round to the next, and the amount was very small, from 20 dollars to 40. After the start, a few minutes later, I did not understand what happened. I opened my eyes and saw the amount of 500 dollars written on the screen. When I looked closely, I found that I had bet on it and lost the bet for a trivial reason, which is that I made a mistake. When writing a number due to exhaustion and fatigue.
As I was not able to see clearly, to be honest with you, that drowsiness took over and I could not sleep that night as I felt very disappointed because that amount for me was too large to lose it in a game like this.

In general, I realized my mistake and no longer made my bets while I was tired. Concentration is the most important thing in any effort we make, and we must always be at full mental strength, as there are many factors that may affect your chances of winning or losing.

I hope everyone benefits from my experience, thank you

Well, you have your point there, if you are tired and fatigued, you can't really do focus well on some other things, well that just includes gambling for sure, and gambling involves money right, so it's still pretty important stuff if you're going to ask me, so if you're not on your focus at the time you did it, I agree that you could totally do a lot of mistakes on it, worst case scenario is putting the wrong input or getting sleepy while doing it, imagine if you just input the wrong number on that just because your getting sleepy already right, that is just the worst thing and probably going to be a bad day, for a 50$ bet then suddenly you type the wrong number because your tired and sleepy, you type 500$ on that bet and lost it.

Still, there are a lot of people or gamblers I suppose that treat gambling as entertainment or past time, I mean personally I usually like to gamble when I'm tired because it help me relieved with my stress, I mostly do sportbetting but I do some card games like blackjack after work because it relieved my stress especially if I'm completely winning, of course it could totally bet he opposite if I'm losing the game here, who wouldn't get stress if your losing the game and money? that is just the worst especially after work.
214  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies how to use the 2FA security system in the account? on: March 28, 2024, 06:36:12 AM
Strongly recommend using google authenticator I've use it for years and doesn't really encounter problems with it
Google Authenticator is a close source 2FA and I don't recommend it.

Use open source 2FA like Aegis, Tofu

https://getaegis.app/
https://github.com/beemdevelopment/Aegis

https://www.tofuauth.com/

You are right, I would recommend using an authenticator, but not necessarily google authenticator since it wasn't open source 2FA, I've edited my post here  Smiley

Well, so far I haven't encountered issues with my authenticator with the new update, my biggest problem last time was the code was not saved to a certain account so it wasn't going to save on the situation when I lost my phone back in 2020 I think, but so far it was solved already, There was also a way to recover your account in case you have problems, you could bypass authenticator on a certain platform or account as long as you saved the codes on the authentications when you activate the authentication most of the platform is going to give you code that is going to allow you it turns off that authentication code in your account in case your phone was broken or stolen. I will take a look at this open-source authenticator that you are recommending. Thanks!
215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: March 28, 2024, 05:14:57 AM
Hey gamblers' community, hope you're all doing great.
I wanted to convey my message here that gambling in front of our kids may put adverse effects on their growing minds and they may also take the wrong path and start gambling (either by asking you personally for funds or by stealing it in order to fulfill their gambling cravings).

I'm sharing this because I saw this issue with my kiddo who was once watching me gamble at a website playing blackjack and she started asking me more about the game. Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.

I think I've read it somewhere that doing this to your children is not going to have a good effect on them, you could look it up on google but exposing your children on gambling at an early age could have bad effects on them, increasing the chance for them to develop some kind of disorder when they grow up, I mean I completely agree with it, kids should not be exposed to gambling at all that is why in a lot of platforms, kids are not allowed to play at all, even on youtube videos that are related to gambling are restricted to be played on kids.

At an early age, there are a lot of useful channel on youtube that you could let them watch instead of allowing them to watch whatever they wanted to, because on youtube they could pretty much everything on it, so its better to restrict them early, I mean if English is not your native language there are channels that could help them with it, I found a channel as well that teaches some kind of coding as well for kids, I mean for sure it wasn't going to be enough to do actual coding but it is still logic, developing the mind of kids is always going to be great thing for there growth.
216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies how to use the 2FA security system in the account? on: March 27, 2024, 11:57:55 PM
Edited:
I recommend using a authenticator I've been using it for years and don't really encounter problems with it, there are a few back then if you lose your phone.
I using google authenticator so far as I can remember codes cannot be recover back then as the codes are not save to your Gmail accounts so its difficult to recover unless you save the code on the account you put that authenticator. But there new recent system was great all data was already going to be save on the Google account so your not gonna have anyproblem anymore, if you lose your phone as long as you know your email account you could easily recover all of them instantly. It can easily save you from hacks incase someone get your password, a added layer of security was never going to go wrong, there are some cases of getting hack even though having authenticator, but in my opinion it only happened when the hacker get a access to a trusted device to which authenticator is bypass thinking that it was you since your password is save on it something like that.

Google wasn't open source but it work in my experience do its job as a authenticator, if you want a more secure one there are some open source one out there.
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upon the death of a bitcoin user. on: March 27, 2024, 06:17:39 PM
I have come to stay in this community and thought of one thing which has been bothering me.
Relating from our traditional banks where a bank customer dies and all his assets remains unclaimed by his relatives. I was once told that there was a bank manager who withdrew funds from there customer dormant accounts hopefully that the owners are dead as those account has been dormant for years without any form of activity on the account, it happens when no relative knows about the account for them to lay claims.
Similarly to bitcoin what happens in the event of my dismissal since no relative knows about my investment. It doesn't really make sense if my family can't enjoy my wealth. Will it be lost or is it good to entrust someone incase I'm no longer there?

If that is going to be the case then you need to inform them about your investment, there is no way around it, unlike banks which have all the records of your information. You could easily set a beneficiary or could have something like a will in case you die, probably put your spouse as your beneficiary so that in case something happens you always going to have that peace of mind that they are going to access your savings in you die.

There was no way that you could access someone's wallet and just hope that they are dead already, just because there were no transactions what so ever, if you could access that then you were probably a hacker, but it wasn't going to be that easy, most of the lost Bitcoin is already lost unless someone has some kind of leads or information that is going to help access that account.

It's a little different on Cryptocurrency or Bitcoin since it is a decentralized thing, there is no such thing as this beneficiary unless you're going to open it to custodial wallets that have this kind of policy on it, But since most of us are probably using secured wallet, where only you can open it unless you gave someone access to it. Just like what I said there was no way around it, but to tell them about your investment, personally what I do is put everything that is needed in a notebook that I could give to someone in my family, everything is written there its like a password manager, they already have a good hint that I have a pretty good amount of investment on cryptocurrency but they have no idea where it was unless they are going to see the notebook. I just say that everything that is needed is in that notebook in case something happens.

218  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin halving, how low the price can be? on: March 26, 2024, 06:49:41 PM
Next month will be Bitcoin halving, how far can the price go down? or how high can the price go up?

I honestly doesnt have any idea on what going to happen in the market on Bitcoin halving, in my theory it would probably be the safe in the past Bitcoin halving for sure the market price is going to drop down a huge percentage, but honestly, it might that be the case this one, it was surely evident but there was no way to accurately predict the market in this situation, it's still kinda new to a lot of people so market patterns could easily change for sure, it's just that easy to relay on patterns.

My best guess here is the market price is going to drop I could hope back to 25k$ probably, the market is just too high at the moment, most of the traders that are in the market doesnt have any idea they just go in because of FOMO and it was pretty common where newbies are going to think that Bitcoin is unstoppable and just gonna continue to skyrocket to the point where nothing can stop it, you're a fool if you think that way, the higher the market price increase that higher the chance that the bubble is going to explode market could easily experience a huge correction where market price could drop a huge amount in just a short amount of time.

The still best strategy is still going to be Dollar Cost Averaging, I've sold some of my holdings, because for sure it might take a long time again if the market drops its going to be a long time to recover again from that drop, gaining profit is going to be reasonable every time.

I don't know is this have been discussed before here on the gambling discussion board or not, but let see how our independent opinion on this question will be and what to anticipate should Incase we find ourselves at that stage in time.

Just as the title stated, what do you think will becomes of gambling enirly if we wake up one morning to the news of global banning of football,  or a country ban it citizens from participating in football both as a game and also a sport.

Do you think gambling/casinos will lose it popularity since chunk number of their clients are from sport bookies section?

I don't think so gambling has a lot of alternative to it, gambling wasn't really just sports betting on football so even if football was banned globally I don't think it is going to stop gambling at all, for sure there might be a small effect for others who bet on football but I'm sure that it will just pass at time goes by and we will move on to it, Football is not just the sports, we have baseball, Basketball, horse race, tennis etc. it will continue for sure even though football is banned.

It would not lose popularity for sure but football fans are not going to be happy about that, and the whole gambling on football is gone as well, that might affect some but if they are gambling I could see them going on other sports to bet, Not to mention that gambling is not just sports betting there are a tons of card games like blackjack, poker, etc. Then we have lotteries out there, dice games can't even count because there were just too many of them.

This is just hypothetical, in reality, I don't think that there was a possibility that Football was going to be banned at all or gonna die, I mean Football was really popular around the world it has a lot of leagues on it, unless no one is playing it already it might be forgotten through the history, but with this fan base it's almost impossible to die or get banned.
