If the news are true then the answers is yes. Whether we like it or not it will affect the price of bitcoins. Bitcoin is volatile and can be affected by external factors like the what china did recently when they ban the ICO's. A simple thing as that has greatly affected the price of btc. And by closing the buying and selling sites the value of btc will surely drop. But don't be swayed by that China is only doing that to manipulate the market so when the price drop their people or even politicians will buy btc at much lower price then after it they will allow ICO's and exchange again so they will profit big time from it.

In my country where most of officials are corrupt they want to tax everything they can. Its a good thing that they cannot tax bitcoins or altcoins due to the anonymity feature of bitcoin and the government cannot tax something or make something illegal unless a law is passed. And we should not pay taxes regarding bitcoin transaction because we are already paying a fee to miners who are processing the transactions. and by law in my country the one who is paid for giving a service is the one who must pay the income tax.
as for gain tax it is only applicable to assets which the government will get a record like buying a piece of land and house for example. So it will be impossible for them to put tax on you by transacting using bitcoin.

As a writer like me who works online bitcoin is the best choice. The reasons are:
The transaction fee of bitcoin is more cheaper than using other payment processor in my country.
The transactions on bitcoin can be easily monitored in my laptop. while I need to send a text message to the payment processor which is deducted to my prepaid balance just to check the status of my transaction.
Even though the price of bitcoin is volatile the difference is only a few dollars and I can wait a few days for the price to rise again since my pay is every 15th of the month and the due date for payments is on the 28th of the month which give me chances of increasing my money by waiting a few days.

The lack of knowledge sometimes creates fear. I have the same situation but the one who is not OK with me using bitcoin and working online is my father. He always insist that Having a stable job like doing office or physical work is far more better than sitting in the front of computer for hours and without knowing whether I am going paid or not since I cannot see the employer my self. Well If your parent is old and not used to technology that is likely what they think. What I did is explain to them about my job and what bitcoin is. Why people are using it and its benefits. I also explained to them the risk involved when using bitcoins. And the most important part is that let them see that you really know what you are doing for them to have peace of mind. Because if you only showed them the money you have earned without explaining how did you get them will surely make them suspicious of what you are doing.
