12 Billion coins, one block every minute but each block only rewards 20? Am I reading that right?
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MantraCoin is here to revolutionize Cryptocurrency! on: September 24, 2017, 09:02:41 AM

You managed to find an old thread of a truly dead shitcoin and brought it back to the top for everyone to see?
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] PrymeX — Blockchain Antivirus on: September 24, 2017, 08:30:20 AM
Interesting concept, would like to know how you plan on achieving some of the mechanics.

Did you create this thread just to tell everyone how much you lost?

No. Just sharing and hear from others. Thus i created this thread. Anything else?

Is it really losing though, more like your capital taking a hit? I mean the currency doesn't disappear.

Any progress regarding the app?
206  Economy / Economics / Re: Someone from 2020 contacted me on: September 22, 2017, 08:39:38 PM
He sent me this pic:

It is really nice joke but i dont say it for bitcion price what your friend said to you  , i said it for your friend who come to from future. I think he said lie because bitcoin price is not enough for 2020 i hoped 20 000 $.
It all depends on Bitcoin's future competition. Between now and 2020 you can expect some very good coins to launch that will revolutionize everyday items.   In 2020 30% of people could be in electric cars, maybe we buy/sell power using Crypto?
In 2020 we could have had World War 3 and banks do not exist?
In 2020 Cryptocurrency could be banned worldwide.

There are many factors which could continue to drive Bitcoin's growth or even decrease it.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Next 100x? on: September 22, 2017, 08:31:46 PM
Some good posts here.
ZEN can definitely do it.
I'm very optimistic on Nimiq as well, I see it doing x100 in half a year or a bit more if the team delivers.
Shift, Wagerr and especially EOS are also in this category, but is could take longer, 1-2 years.

EOS did x100 at the ICO moment raising $250MM...
At best it will stagnate, or do a mere x2 in the very best case.
Same for Tezos...

Nimiq has an interesting MASS-MARKET idea with the easy web mining.

I see the iphone8 specs (faster than a 2017 macbook pro), and I cannot help myselft to think that mobile-based transaction mining is the future.
Electroneum is one of the very few coins aimig at this market.
People are complaining about battery life now on their phones, I highly doubt those people would be at all willing to drain it even quicker.

It was posted awhile back that the phone based mining on Electroneum is purely cosmetic and is a simulation that doesn't actually mine meaning it doesn't help the network at all.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ELECTRONEUM SPECULATION THREAD on: September 22, 2017, 08:21:46 PM
What price is everyone expecting/hoping for?

I expect $.1 per and hope for as much as possible with a definite hardcap of $10 per coin in lala land territory.

I expect between 0.05$ and 0.10$ at release. 20-30 cents a coin would already be in the "crazy" territory as price/marketcap.

$10 is if crypto is in trillions instead of billions.

If you consider there will only be about 1/3 - 1/4 of max supply in circulation that helps the upside. 50 cents is totally possible within the first few months of 2018.

Im prepared whichever way it goes.

I don't believe it offers enough to the market to hit a $Trillion, it certainly has the ability for quick expansion but I believe it will be very front heavy and top out in the low billions.
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I made $3.2M in Cryprto since 2010. Here are my top picks for coins under $1. on: September 22, 2017, 08:07:43 PM
...

1.  People that are upset that anyone can or would know more than them about investing and as such, degrade people without so much as a sliver of justification.  I LOL at the "these coins are all shit!!...but I do like number 2 and 4."  Comments like that are hilarious.  If someone disagrees, great!  Then I would advocate for some sort of justification in the disagreement, sans an intelligent retort, I would not put much stock into the "haters"  As you'll see, the bulk of people on all my threads either a) agree b) have already invested or plan too in these c) respect the opinion I give.

....

You have to be aware that many of the people, who make posts like this, are doing it
in order to increase their postcount, which enhances their earnings from signature
campaigns.

Due to the current BTC price it is possible to earn a multiple of the average wage in poorer
countries simply by posting on Bitcointalk.

If you browse Bitcointalk with the above knowledge, you will be less surprised about
these posts.

To be fair it is something that needs to be combated as it is hard to take half of the topics seriously when there are so many responses which barely classify as English.

210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Useless Alt-Coins that will be dead in 6 months to 1 year on: September 22, 2017, 07:01:05 AM
Dash.

I'm pretty sure Dash is a scam of mega proportions.

Any evidence of this? Seems like a pretty big claim.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Difficulty on: September 21, 2017, 02:32:12 AM
When I knew bitcoin, I felt it was complicated and difficult to use. The first time I was really depressed and did not use it anymore but gradually got friends help, I knew more about it.

How is this related to OP's question regarding block difficulty?

Anyway, network hashes vary greatly which can be caused by many things, for example as prices change people may migrate to another coin to mine which would affect total hash-rate. It is very difficult to predict and adjust realtime, and by using historical data you could only guess these conditions.
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A power experiment for mining on: September 20, 2017, 09:16:42 AM
I was just thinking about this when considering interesting options to power mining operation.

What about a bike connected to a generator?

I believe a set up like that can power a house. If you extrapolated that out it leads to interesting questions. How many rigs could you power, and assuming it's possible at all. Is it possible to make a days wage or higher with such a process?

Ideas. thoughts and discussion welcome.

I just looked at the wattage and am very unsure.

One article on costs and how: http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/gadgets/how-to/a10245/pedal-power-how-to-build-a-bike-generator-16627209/

I'm not exactly sure what you mean.

According to that website, he only generated 200w @ 24v, a standard PC is around 300w @ 12v (plus a few watts on 5v), so it certainly wouldn't power a mining rig, and you would need more than a dozen to power a single household.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU mining using servers? on: September 20, 2017, 09:05:33 AM
Profitable as in making money off un-utilized processing power, but not as in worthwhile firing it up to mine.
Like previously said, even dual socket modern server likely wouldn't pay for power costs.

Sign up for WCX for 50 tokens
https://wcex.co/?ref=VpSUmOgO

The project looks promising, seriously considering investing

According to that link, you get 50 token but anyone that clicks it gets nothing unless they buy tokens.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stupid thoughts about Bitcoin China. May be not so stupid??? on: September 20, 2017, 08:30:24 AM
Recently we had a lot of news and rumors from China about exchanges and even bitcoin ban. We all already tired from these kind of stuff. Many of us think China government stupid. But here is the thought appears about China's government is not stupid at all and they've started play their own game. It's not a secret that around 50% (or even more) BTC mining power is situated in China. What if China plans to create their own "Bitcoin" using already existed mining powers? If they do so it would be first strong government's crypto. Does this thought silly or not? Could this be true???

It's not very decentralized if a government controls it. China is not stupid, there is a reason China is the largest exporter in the world, but you need to keep in mind they are also very restrictive on their overseas spending too.

217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WTF? People getting mortgage debt to buy btc in the UK. on: September 20, 2017, 04:26:54 AM
To be fair, if you believe BTC will increase by 7% or more per year, you could make money buy getting a mortgage and buying BTC. People get loans to buy cars/boats/holidays which depreciate very quickly. It's not as dumb as it sounds, but is very risky.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We are going through the SEC Compliance process. on: September 19, 2017, 10:14:26 AM
ArtToken is having their ICO on now, but they are in process of meeting up with SEC conditions to be allowed to organize their crowd sell in USA. Do you think this is the way forward for other startups to raise fund for their projects.

It is certainly one way to try and stand out from the crowd of ICO's. At this stage it is very difficult to sort through the good and poor ICO's, so it helps draw decent investors.
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Centra Tech website may have been compromised? on: September 19, 2017, 07:18:14 AM
Reports that SSL certificate is missing during ICO and poor security measures used on their website.
Also notes here from subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/CentraTech/comments/7117vs/centra_tech_website_was_hacked/

Any thoughts? If this is true, then how can someone possibly trust this company to look after their transactions?

in fact wic is best ico that i invest
i hope we can receive 100x profit from this project under 1 year
we ready for pump and go to moooon wic

Unlikely unless they can get some big players in the WiFi hotspot business to adopt their payment system, which won't happen until most consumers are ready to support the system. Cryptocurrencies are still foreign to most people, so the biggest hurdle is making it available to the average person.
