Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt -w 256 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 8192 --intensity 13 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-fan 100 -o http://mining.usa.la.hypernova.pw:9332 -u worker.1 -p xxxxx

I'm not too sure about that card tbh. The BIOS flash is not to put a more up to date BIOS on, but to put a different BIOS on which doesn't suffer from the low scrypt hashrate. As i say this is a problem with certain cards, usually the OC / Ghz editions.. Just to confirm, your card is a normal Gigabyte, not OC or Ghz edition or anything?

Try the following and let me know what hashrate you get: -s 2 --thread-concurrency 20992 -I 13 -w 256 -g 2    With 1040mhz/1081mV GPU and 1500Mhz/1500mV RAM.

*Edit - reading your post more closely, am i right in saying you have an OC edition card? If so then i'm pretty sure a BIOS flash to the non OC version would work.

Also if anyone's interested, my 7970's use about 250w each at these settings.

and using that config line for cgminer I get a 380 Kh/s with the -g 2. When i change it to -g 1 I get 510 kh/s
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The official MacMiner thread [BTC/LTC-CPU/GPU/FPGA/ASIC] on: June 14, 2013, 10:13:29 PM
well i've got to say thanks for the intro and help and such but after this statement ---->

"The average time to generate a block at 250.0 Mhps, given difficulty of 15605632.6813, is 8 years, 26 weeks, 1 day, 2 hours, 6 minutes, and 58 seconds"

what with my lonely 1 gpu 6870 (250-300MH) sett-up that runs at approx. 288W on an elec rate of 14.43KW/h and a standing charge of 18pence a day......i'm out.

i'll be back next year when i have a Pi and a BFL Jal'

so long and thnx for all the fish.

sob.
Have fun, dont break anything whilst i'm gone.
good luck anonymailer on your work, i'll be around if you require build tests.

I just found a used 7970 from craigslist to stay in the game as my 5770 and couple NVIDIA GPU's weren't cutting it one bit. If you enjoy mining as much as the next bloke on here I would spend 2-300$ and pick up just one 7970 which has enough power to have some fun. Of course though now I want another Wink

if i have BFG running and i start BFL i can not stop BFL ...

Whoops, there was a change to the internals and BFL wasn't corrected for it. I'll get on that, but the good news is that it'll work with the BFG Miner window! Did you finally get your pre-order?

poclbm window gives me this error :

Code:
No likey

What would be an advantage in using poclbm vs BFGminer anyways? btw BFGminer works just as well as previous version

Also how come it never saves our pool information on application startup? Would love to not have to add both LTC and BTC pools everytime please Smiley
it seems poclbm is only working with 10.8 right now, sorry about that. I'd say poclbm is quite good for people who don't want to tune the settings, it gets a good amount out of your hardware without stressing it too hard and scales back well with the default settings, but BFGMiner actually uses a poclbm kernel so in a way it's the same thing, but it's configured differently and you have a bit more control over it. I've actually considered dropping poclbm window because it's written in Python and that's a pain, but I think some people are using it.

I hear you on the having to config every version thing, it's high on the list of priorities!

Thanks for clearing up the Poclbm issue as I was always quite curious about that. When it worked I liked it but am just as happy using BFGminer. If you end up getting the other working on 10.7 again id be interested in playing with the differences but imo the saving config file is much more important Wink Thanks again for all your hard work in helping us mac users get up and running. This app really has paved the way for OSX Mining!

Yeah am pretty sure it is an OC version from these numbers :

GPU: Gigabyte HD 7970 3072MB GDDRS
GV-R797OC-3GD
Display device       : AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series on Tahiti GPU
Display driver       : 9.14.10.0969, Catalyst 13.4
BIOS                 : 015.022.000.004

Do you know how to flash the card or what BIOS to actually flash to as there are so many to choose? this will be my first time flashing but am confident I can make it happen

color 0A
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
cgminer --scrypt -o pool -u user -p password --auto-fan --gpu-engine 1008,1008 --gpu-memclock 1675,1675 --thread-concurrency 8192,8192 -I 13,13 -g 2 -w 256,256

make this .bat file you wil get  712 and use pc also

really digging the green color =D but the result is a 390 :/ Still not sure why when -g 2 is changed to -g 1  I get 540? still way below what I should be getting.

Thanks for the reports! Please give this beta version 1.3.5 a shot which fixes poclbm window and updates the update mechanism allowing for automatic downloads of updates and anonymous system profile reports (both off by default but can be enabled in preferences)

http://fabulouspanda.co.uk/macminer/downloads/MacMiner.app-1.3.5.zip

poclbm window gives me this error :

Code:
No PyOpenCL

Not using OpenCL

Nothing to mine on, exiting

207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Low hashrate on 7970 scrypt? Under 700Kh/s? Here's what to do... on: June 14, 2013, 08:08:56 AM
I think I am ready to flash my bios but need a little help. I have a Gigabyte HD 7970 3072MB GDDRS and have tried everything but no luck getting past 550 Kh/s via scrypt. I am thinking my BIOS may be too old on the card as this is my current stats on windows 7:

Display device       : AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series on Tahiti GPU
Display driver       : 9.14.10.0969, Catalyst 13.4
BIOS                 : 015.022.000.004
GPU: Gigabyte HD 7970 3072MB GDDRS - GV-R797OC-3GD

Looking at http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/index.php?manufacturer=Gigabyte&model=HD+7970 there seems to be much newer ones although I have never flashed a BIOS or anything for that matter so maybe I am wrong? My current settings are :

Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt -w 256 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 8192 --intensity 13 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-fan 100 -o http://mining.usa.la.hypernova.pw:9332 -u worker.1 -p xxxxx

I have tried -g 2 and every time it drops dramatically down to 380 Kh/s from 540 in -g 1. I have also followed the ReadME file for Cgminer and my ThreadConcurrency speed came out to be 22400 but have read to use 8192 and see no difference. So at this point I am thinking a flash of the bios will be the way to go. What do you think? Thank yoU!

one bad news..but two good news on this version for my 10.7 machine. Bad News: still wont do anything after I hit start in Poclbm Miner then wont let me hit stop..basically freezes.
Good News: CPUminer still works great for Scrypt and BFGminer on a intensity of 9 is giving me 160 on my 5770 again so back in business! Keep the updates coming my friend..goodstuff!
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Sexcoin - coin for adult industry on: June 13, 2013, 07:23:30 AM
If it helps spread the love for sexcoin the adult industry has been discussing Bitcoin as you have probably already read.
http://www.xbiz.com/news/161663
http://www.dailydot.com/business/porn-industry-xbiz-bitcoin-wicked-pictures/
As someone involved in that industry I definitely see Bitcoin or some form of digital currency making porn buyers that much more anonymous a huge HUGE plus for those wanting secrecy. Which of course they all do right? Personally though I don't see sexcoin really taking off only because of the name. Most buyers of porn want the term sex to stay as far away from their credit cardbank statements and even though sexcoin may show up as something else it would probably scare alot of buyers off. I do see big companies maybe in the future having a coin of their own where maybe you can trade your BTC for their coin to get more videos/minutes out of your $$$. But hey I am all for any coin that supports the adult industry so carry on soldiers!

212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Site for Bidding on Coins? on: June 10, 2013, 11:20:10 PM
You could list anything, other coins included on dgcmarket.com and pay with DGC.

very nice to see that popping up! more of these the better for any coin imo. Now to look into DGC...

Id like to see a craiglist type site where everything that was on it was to be bought with Bitcoins

BitList? Trying to figure out what the personals section would look like  Wink

213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Site for Bidding on Coins? on: June 10, 2013, 11:10:07 PM
^hmm maybe you do? will look into that
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Site for Bidding on Coins? on: June 10, 2013, 10:57:19 PM
How much more are people paying for them on ebay?  Smiley

Going for $4-10 per LTC
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Site for Bidding on Coins? on: June 10, 2013, 10:56:41 PM

You still need a way to first get the BTC into bitmit so its kind of a private players club at the moment.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Site for Bidding on Coins? on: June 10, 2013, 10:52:12 PM
Most coins, already have a set value. What would the be the point of an auction site? Why would anyone want to pay more, or anyone want to get less, then you would if you buy/sell on an exchange?

perhaps for new coins before they hit an exchange

Basically for that reason in case an exchange isn't offering yet or someone doesn't want to go through the hassle of an exchange or even know how about going to make a trade. A simple ebay style setup. Really though it would be better for the sellers at this point for an auction site as have you seen the prices people are paying for them on ebay?
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Site for Bidding on Coins? on: June 10, 2013, 10:34:02 PM
Was actually thinking more for the buying and selling of crypto coins rather than merch for ex: http://www.ebay.com/itm/151061458561?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Site for Bidding on Coins? on: June 10, 2013, 10:26:31 PM
Just curious if anyone is working on a site like ebay but just for BTC,LTC and every other alt coin wanting to be sold? Seems like it would do well or would that basically just be an online exchange? It could be called "BitBay"

Just a thought Smiley

Thats what i am thinking as the poster said he moved 3 hours away from original location. I am going to still try and by 4-5 from him but will make the 3hr drive to avoid the scam. Lets see if happens but at the moment not counting it..
