201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your bitcoin story? Good or bad on: March 18, 2018, 09:35:23 AM
There is nothing interesting to share in my case. I got into Bitcoin kinda early and now I'm watching carefully what is going on here. I'm interested in the future solutions of Bitcoin scalability. I didn't lose much money, I tried to trade some altcoins but it's definitely not for me. I'm impatient when it comes to trading but I can wait for Bitcoin to recover without any problems.
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who controls the Bitcoin system? on: March 18, 2018, 09:01:16 AM
Some people say that governments could control Bitcoin by regulating it. It is obviously false because Bitcoin is decentralised so it can't be controlled. They can only regulate exchanges and merchants who want to accept BTC. That's ridiculous but we can't do much about it, they are trying to make people more reluctant to cryptocurrencies in general. I really doubt that they will succeed.
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Love To See People Panic Selling Of Bitcoin on: March 18, 2018, 08:42:14 AM
They will eventually regret panic selling their BTC but they will probably blame Bitcoin, not themselves. I wouldn't mind all this panic but I hate that there are so many threads here about "Bitcoin dying" or "Will Bitcoin recover". Bitcoin will recover soon because there are many positive news which could affect investors to start buying Bitcoin which would cause its price to surge.
204  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could bitcoin reach 100.000$ ? on: March 17, 2018, 01:52:59 PM
I'm rooting for Bitcoin to reach even more than you predict. Once Bitcoin becomes more popular and faster, its price will grow in a short period of time. A lot of people will regret that they decided not to invest in BTC when it was still worth a bit more than a few thousands. Before we reach 100 thousand dollars we will experience as many dumps and pumps as we have today.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GOVERNMENTS CAN CONTROL CRYPTOCURRENCY on: March 17, 2018, 01:07:57 PM
No, they can't, but they can control exchanges, credit card companies and money which is exchanged from crypto.

No one can control crypto itself.

It won't be a problem soon when decentralised exchanges (which already work) become popular. We won't have to exchange cryptocurrencies to fiat if they become accepted all around the world. We are not that far from achieving that. It only requires us to stop using normal exchanges and worrying about governments whose aim is to kill cryptocurrencies before they will expand more and start to be used in our daily life.
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency kills people on: March 17, 2018, 12:47:35 PM
You know what kills the most people in the world.  Capitalism.  The drive for always the lowest price.  Leads to shortcuts and death.  Occurs in every industry.  That is the number one driver of death.  Always low prices!

Capitalism is not perfect, it lead to enormous amount of deaths in poor countries which are usually used for hiring cheap employees who won't cause problems when they start to treat them badly or underpay them. Cryptocurrencies don't kill people, like every other kind of money it can be obviously used for buying illegal things that could harm you.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do many people who do not understand Bitcoin deface and attack Bitcoin? on: March 17, 2018, 12:29:33 PM
I believe that some people are undereducated, they don't know many things which are connected to Bitcoin. People don't care about governments and banks doing whatever they want and it doesn't seem that it will change anytime soon. We should focus on helping these people to realise that our current system is terrible and won't last long because it will be soon replaced by cryptocurrencies.
208  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN bounce back to $20k in 2018? on: March 15, 2018, 03:44:19 PM
I think that Bitcoin is going to increase back to twenty thousand dollars in this year. There are many reasons why it might happen for example big adoption of SegWit which will help to lower the fees. Lightning Network will be perfect for microtransaction which will be used for most of the time. Give it a few weeks.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Security question - Linux VM on my windows pc to protect online wallets? on: March 15, 2018, 12:54:11 PM
Virtual machine won't do much If your host gets infected. I would rather get Tails or some other Linux distribution and setup it on an air-gapped old laptop. If you don't have any old hardware and have lots of BTC then consider buying a hardware wallet which will always work without exposing your private keys, even on infected computer. Both Trezor and Ledger are great choice.
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future of bitcoin in 50 years? on: March 15, 2018, 12:35:29 PM
We can't and we shouldn't try to predict what will happen to BTC in the next few years. It is impossible to predict what will happen next month so I wouldn't even try predicting for long term. A lot of things could happen such as the third world war or a huge disaster. I think that Bitcoin will still exist but I can't tell how it will look like and expensive it will be.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you deal with friends/family when they lose their investment? on: March 14, 2018, 12:13:28 PM
What kind of investment are we talking about? If Bitcoin then I'm trying to convince them that they should wait because Bitcoin has potential to recover and continue increasing. I encourage my family to buy Bitcoin but before that I try to educate them. I want to make them aware of huge risk and potential that Bitcoin has to become used by far more people than it is today.
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons Why We Should Love Bitcoin on: March 14, 2018, 10:44:14 AM
There are many reasons why we should love Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Anonymity is very important, fiats and banks don't guarantee it. Using Bitcoin is anonymous only if you don't share your address with anyone who could reveal your identity. Sending payments to companies in other countries is finally easy, no need to use wire transfers which are expensive and confirm long.
213  Economy / Speculation / Re: When You Think Market Boom Again? on: March 14, 2018, 10:14:43 AM
Bitcoin and other altcoins should soon start increasing again. Some people sold their BTC because of high transaction fees (now they are really low, it's a perfect time to combine a few inputs) and some FUD which was spread by famous people. Be patient and hold. There is no reason to sell.
214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction: Bitcoin will hit 100K on: March 14, 2018, 09:52:15 AM
I have no doubts that Bitcoin will hit the price of 100 thousand dollars but it will definitely take a lot of time and our effort to make Bitcoin more popular and more widely used. If Amazon and eBay implement Bitcoin then it will definitely become more popular because a lot of people use these services. We have to be patient and it will pay off.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: teach your children about bitcoin on: March 14, 2018, 09:12:13 AM
10 years old is quite early to start with cryptocurrencies. I don't think if he will be able to understand what you explain him. He might be too young for that. You should wait a few years before trying to do it. You can make a paper wallet for him and send some BTC every month for example and tell him about it when he turns 18 for example.
216  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2018 will be at $50,000 on: March 12, 2018, 03:50:26 PM
Bitcoin price might vastly increase this year. Last year, we had a lot of hard forks which aim was to make Bitcoin better, faster or even "decentralized again". I think that Bitcoin popularity might surge after Lightning Network becomes a real thing. Many people complain that it might not succeed but I think that is not true. We should give it some time, we could compare it to Bitcoin. It wasn't perfect at its beginning and it still isn't. We will have to keep upgrading it for the next few years. However, we should be able to use it for simple and small payments really soon.
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After 3 months, what do you have? on: March 12, 2018, 03:36:56 PM
3 months and no profit isn't anything special. Good for you that you have started with learning how cryptocurrencies work. A lot of people invest a lot of money without doing any research. Later they somehow lose their money and they blame Bitcoin because of it. They should blame themselves for not reading enough about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Did you try investing? If you have some knowledge then you should be able to store your bitcoins in a secure way. I was in similar situation as you, be patient and don't panic. You will eventually earn some money.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you keep your private keys?? I need good ideas!! on: March 12, 2018, 08:10:26 AM
There are plenty of methods to store your private key. It will be quite difficult to remember it unless you start using seed instead of key. Words are easier to remember but you will lose all your money even if you forget one of them or mess up the order. I would go for encrypting a file with your seed or private key and then storing it somewhere safe. Hardware wallets do this thing for you but you would still have to take care of your seed. As I said earlier it will be definitely easier to remember. You can also use a passphrase which works as an extra word which could be only in your head.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why I hate BITCOIN on: March 12, 2018, 07:57:10 AM
You hate Bitcoin only because it isn't as profitable as it used to be? If Bitcoin was created you wouldn't be able to earn on altcoins. I hate people who are interested in cryptocurrencies only because their price is constantly growing. You don't care about the technology, that's why most of so called traders panic sell. Try to look at Bitcoin in a different way, give it a try.
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to have many altcoins or it is enough to have few? on: March 11, 2018, 06:43:17 PM
I personally would rather have a few well-known altcoins than many random ones. It is really difiicult to predict which altcoin will be pumped in the future. Usually, the most popular cryptocurrencies are being upgraded all the time which makes them faster and better. It eventually leads to their price increase. I feel much more safe with the most popular altcoins, they are also supported by hardware wallets, so basically I can hold them without having to worry about anything.
