201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CRW] CROWN (SHA256) | Atomic | Governance | Systemnodes | Masternodes | on: December 02, 2017, 11:00:46 AM
When 2% of crown has been sold in the last few days, it also means that alot of new people have gotten crown.
As this community expands the price will more likely rise in a more healthy way.

I have seen plenty of people already joining on the mattermost channel, most of them already with system or masternodes. Also, with over 2000 systemnodes up and running, this is really taking shape!

Also a systemnode gives you 43.06% return on investment!

How do I join "mattermost channel"?
Where can I find that?

I own a systemnode since one week ago so I count as one of these new people :-)
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Project Interzone - Blockchain Social Engine on: December 02, 2017, 10:28:36 AM
Hi!

I tried to compile the wallet from the source code on github and got some problems on Arch Linux and on debian.
The problem is that both debian and Arch Linux have openssl version 1.1 as default.
The code needs openssl version 1.0.

So I had to install openssl version 1.0 on Arch linux.
I still got problems but after some searching I found the same issue for feathercoin:
https://github.com/FeatherCoin/Feathercoin/issues/177

The workaround was to create a build script as described in the link above:
Code:
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/usr/lib/openssl-1.0/pkgconfig" //CHANGE TO OWN OPENSSL PATH
export CXXFLAGS+=" -I/usr/include/openssl-1.0" //CHANGE TO OWN OPENSSL PATH
export LDFLAGS+=" -L/usr/lib/openssl-1.0 -lssl" //CHANGE TO OWN OPENSSL PATH

./autogen.sh
./configure
make -j4

I also got the compiling error described on github when compiling the GUI wallet:
https://github.com/projectinterzone/ITZ/blob/master/doc/build-unix.md
Code:
error: #error "You must build your code with position independent code if Qt was built with -reduce-relocations. " "Compile your code with -fPIC (-fPIE is not enough)."
It is not described correctly how to solve it. They say add -fPIE but that is already in the code. I changed to
Code:
CPPFLAGS="$CPPFLAGS -DBOOST_SPIRIT_THREADSAFE -DHAVE_BUILD_INFO -D__STDC_FORMAT_MACROS -fPIC"

Then I could compile the wallet on Arch Linux end everything works!

On debian I only installed the command line wallet because that machine does not have keyboard or monitor, it is only controlled by text terminal.
Anyway I got the same openssl errors when compiling as I experienced on Arch Linux.
On debian the solution was to install packages libssl1.0-dev and libssl1.02.
Then the compilation was completed without errors and I could install the wallet with
Code:
sudo make install

Hopefully this can help some Linux users. I am going to install a masternode on a Lnux VPS with debian so first I had to install the wallet software on the VPS.
But I also use Linux on my desktop computer (Arch Linux) and I wanted my local wallet on that machine.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PoW/PoS180%]AltCommunityCoin [YoBit][Active Development] on: December 01, 2017, 10:36:17 PM
How many coins will be needed for a MN?
1000 ALTCOMs for one masternode, which will be activated in the near future. That means you have to invest around $2500-3000 for one masternode at its current low price. But the project is good, active developed, lots of products will be released soon, such as SonoHub. So, personally, it's worthy investment.

Why so high price? Not everybody has $3000 to invest. I was hoping for 100 ALTCOM to buy a masternode which is more reasonable. An idea is to do it like Crown. Implement cheaper nodes also for people with less Money to invest. They call it system nodes. If price rise in future nobody will afford 1000 ALTCOM. Only very rich people which is bad for decentralisation.

If MN were set low, then it would defeat the purpose of them. At that point, you would probably get rid of MNs and just use staking.

In regards to you thinking it's expensive, You do not have to purchase the full 1000 coins. We still have a little time, so you can buy some and just let it stake up to 1000.

So what is the purpose of the masternodes?
Why do we need them?
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: December 01, 2017, 03:46:40 PM

New Pool Server Locations!

Russia and Australia now live! I think we've covered most of the world now but if anyone has a suggestion for more locations let me know!

Remember we use one web interface for all of our pool locations: http://itns.intensepool.net

Africa and South America?
I really don't need one here in Sweden. Russia and UK is Close enough :-)
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why people are using nicehash? on: December 01, 2017, 03:12:52 PM
Sometimes the profitability of a certain coin rises temporarily to a level where it is cheaper to rent hash power from nicehash and mine than it is to buy the coins on the market. Problem is that you may not be the only one getting that idea and difficulty rise quickly when the nicehashers arrive at the mining pools.

But in theory there can be occasions when it is profitable to rent haspower, mine and sell mined coins at market. It could be a small unknown coin or a new coin on the market that is over valued by traders.

The miners selling hash Power does not need to know which coin is profitable. They get somewhat acceptable profit without having to bother searching after what to mine.

It is not likely that you will reach 4 GHz.
Maybe 3.7 GHz with normal cooling.

Also remember that there is a big increase of power consumption and heat when overclocking.
I have not overclocked mine because I like it Power effecient and long lasting.

DNR price has increased today. whats the reason behind it ?

Masternodes

I can't find any info regarding masternodes.
How many coins needed?

What are the expected masternode rewards? I am currently only receiving about 2 xmcc / day, which seems a little low.

Hello, it's normal.

You can check masternode stats here : https://masternodes.pro/stats/xmcc

Don't forget that the rewards will be multiplied by 2.5 in january.

I think I read somewhere that masternode rewards should increase slowly over a 9 month period or something like that?
So the rewards is increasing instantly from 2 to 5 in January?

Maybe I should try buying my second masternode before price goes up...
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PoW/PoS180%]AltCommunityCoin [YoBit][Active Development] on: November 30, 2017, 03:51:56 PM
I have not read through all posts in this thread but I wonder if there is a description of "Phase 2" that is supposed to come Q1 2018? Phase 1 is soon over?

Sonohub

Sonohub that is our main project is currently being built after the community approved the funding for it with 20.000 coins from the distribution funds.
The first release of Sonohub will be in Q1 of 2018 and will contain an amazing friend finder with a lot of search parameters that makes it easy for you to find the right people to play with.
A chat system will also be in Sonohub, but VoIP will be in the 2nd release.

There is a lot of opportunities with Sonohub and we will exploit most of them to make the whole ALTCOM project interconnected. That means the ALTCOM wallet will be built into this software so you can manage your funds and send your friends money from the same app.

It's just the tiny tip of the iceberg that lurks underneath the water.
More releases will be made in 2018 to give our community more features and to get gamers into the crypto world the best way possible.

Whitepaper: http://bit.ly/2fxnRWc

But that's next year. There's still more to come even before this year ends. Keep an eye on the community Discord.

So Phase 2 does not change th specifications of the coin?

Current Phase: 1

We will be moving from Phase 1 to Phase 2 in Q1 of 2018.

•Name: AltCommunity Coin
•Ticker: ALTCOM
•Algorithm: SkunkHash
•Block Time:  60 seconds
•Proof of Work Reward: 1 Coin
•Proof of Stake Reward: 180% APR
•RPC: 25855
•Default Port: 26855

From the whitepaper https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzTMNG48yO5uMkVZUWtMWWQ4dm8/view

Quote
Proof of Stake will be revised in phase two and will be lowered from the 180% per year or 0.49%
per day to 50% per year or 0,137% per day.

The Proof of Work reward will also be raised from 1 ALTCOM to 10 ALTCOM per block as Proof
of Stake blocks are taking up more and more blocks.

This change will be made to fight hyperinflation as it would de-value the coin and hurt the
ecosystem of the coin.

Thanks! I like this change.

Great! Looking forward to the Bright future of Crown! I also like the name of Crown. I live in Sweden and our Money is called "krona" which is the Swedish Word for Crown.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU mining with software that does not require installing on: November 30, 2017, 11:32:05 AM
I think there is some web based mining script that starts a miner if you browse to a certain page on internet. But it might get catched by your antivirus software. I guess you don't own the comoputer if you are not admin? Sounds like risky business to me.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what is more profitable? on: November 30, 2017, 11:27:35 AM
It changes all the time. What is profitable now may not be profitable in a month or a year from now. Maybe get something that is good at different algos is one approach and then buy Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti cards or GTX1070.

Another approach is by something that is very good at one algo like AMD Vega and cryptonight. Then try to find the most profitable cryptonight coin.

You could also go for CPU mining and buy a server with some good CPU with many cores. Could be profitable if you search for coins with CPU only mining. You can also run some masternodes on a server.

Or you can buy coins instead of mining gear and go for trading.

Maybe you can by some ASIC miner (don't know what you get for the price though).

You have to find your own strategy. Maybe study the market for a while before you deside what to do.

I think you can start small to learn what works and waht does not work before you put more money into it.
