With 100% TDP and an overclock I was getting more than that with PHI.  Say high 60s.  You need to spend some time tweaking it.

The phi miner right from the luxcoin website isn't a bad one.  Not as good as spmod but close.

I ran their calculator this morning and it was around $5/day per 1080ti.

I guess I see your point there.  You should be able to make more if you go mine alts directly.

One thing nicehash has going is simplicity.  If you ever do go to cash out to fiat you've already got the bitcoin.  No fees to convert or extra trades required.

Mining is a tiny fraction of total world energy use.

What is so bad about altminer?

Zpool has been up and down frequently as of late.  YIIMP has been good on uptime but the stratum is constantly hammered.

Difficulty matters if you want to mine and hold.  If you want to pump and dump a scam coin then it doesn't matter.

Cost of entry is super high right now because of the hype and all the incoming hash.  If you can even find something in stock it's gone fast and some of the retailers are trying to make it harder for you to pick up 10 cards at a time like a new miner would maybe want to do.

If I wanted to do anything other than put together a small rig I might think about waiting for things to settle down.  Especially with Volta coming out in 2-3 months.  AMD won't have anything else for a while.  I read 2019.

Nobody knows how long it will last and there may be another huge crash and sale of cards followed up by a period of time where not much happens.  Then suddenly the market blows up again and we're back here talking about the same thing for the third time.

I agree with Travis.  I'm a computer hobbyist and part time gamer primarily and I completely understand people being upset that the miners hoard everything and hog it all to themselves.  It's not easy to get anything at msrp or close to it without putting some effort into it.  Takes patience, knowledge, and luck to find something and get it before another person jumps in and gets it.

Seems like nicehash isn't real popular around here.  I understand the hack and all - not good.

Seems like it would be easier to setup and run than constantly chasing different coins with different individual miners and wallets.  Most people here seem to dump their alts for bitcoin and then trade or cash out anyway which nicehash makes easier since they pay you direct in bitcoin.

What is the problem with it though?  What are the pros/cons?

Jeez does anybody ever mine these alt coins and hold them for a year or more?  Seems like all anyone does is mine until difficulty gets up then sell and move on.  Some "investment".

Well I'm obviously confused.  How does the staking work?  I don't have many coins however I do keep the wallet online constantly.  It's been up for over 36 hours.  Still says 0.00 for Stake.

What's my issue?

LUX profitability isn't great right now but then not much else really is that I've found at least not anything you can run through a calc on WTM.

The YIIMP x17 stratum is always full.  Both ports.  3500+ miners typically.  If you can connect on the first try you're lucky.

Invalid shares doesn't ever stop happening.  It is always an issue and at about the same frequency.  I don't have hard numbers however I get seemingly at least four or five over each hour of mining with two 1080ti/x17.  Payouts are still OK - so it's not a huge issue.  I just don't like seeing the red "booooooo" come up on the client lol

Zpool never shows invalid jobs like this for me however it has other problems.  I've switched since to phi algo and am on altminer.net now.

My main issue with YIIMP when I was mining XVG is invalid shares and difficulty connecting to the stratum.  Usually it will connect if you let it sit for a while.  Invalid job messages were a regular thing though.  Did not have that issue on zpool however zpool was not that reliable and would run out of currency or go down frequently.

I tried mining LUX yesterday on the pool however it popped up and gave me the message in red lettering about not being able to pay out in that currency.

Is this issue resolved?  It seems like it was a problem with XVG on and off last week too.

Will an updated link be up on the site when the new wallet drops?
