201  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Global Localbitcoins Volume Charts on: June 21, 2015, 08:22:36 PM
I got confused a bit, as they are showing the weekly volumes instead of the daily volumes. It is interesting to note that more than half of the trade volume is from the United States (BTC2,000 - 3,000 per day) despite users getting arersted there for trading using LBC. Anyway, LBC is still an infant in terms of volumes, when compared to BTC-e or Bitstamp.  Grin

I think it is ok in the usa if you are careful to cover your ass.  Actually I think it is strange that authorities are targeting this so heavily.  It goes to show that big banks are buying more than just regulations.
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Charts by Country of localbitcoins.com transactions on: June 21, 2015, 08:20:22 PM
Woah, these charts are amazing.  It is interesting how some countries have just a single spike, as if there was a period of time when btc was a popular fad, and then no one cared about it after that, but also other countries like usa and russia where there is a sustained increase.  Very interesting.
203  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: BitcoinDuplex.com | Double Your Bitcoins in Just 100 Hours | 15% Affiliate Bonus on: June 20, 2015, 06:06:27 PM
You know this old saying, "those who don't risk, don't drink champagne" Wink

You have all the template - the site itself, the script. In most cases, this data - always scam.

Yeah nice logic there, but I will keep my risks to things like hashnest where there is a far better chance of making money in the long run.  +1 scam, I will avoid.  But at least they put in the effort to make a nice graphic this time.
204  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: new scam? on: June 20, 2015, 06:04:44 PM
Guys this is obviously a scam.  Monitors are usually paid off and I don't think any of them are trustworthy.  I am not saying don't play, but just treat it like gambling and assume that you will lose, so that way if you win it will be a nice and exciting surprise.
205  Economy / Gambling / Re: cryptogamblingforum.com on: June 20, 2015, 06:02:03 PM
Thanks for making a forum, but IMO there is really good gambling discussion here.  I don't really see a need to register on another forum.  Rather if I really wanted something that this forums does not offer, I would ask the leadership team here to add another sub forum to the gambling section.
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ultimate Bitcoin Stress Test - Monday June 22nd - 13:00 GMT on: June 20, 2015, 05:59:42 PM
Ah so this is why my transactions are taking so long, thanks guys  Roll Eyes

But seriously though, thanks for taking the initiative to test this with your own resources, this is great that someone in the bitcoin community wants to spend their own money on research to improve the technology Smiley
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Executive Says 21 Million Cap Increase Inevitable on: June 20, 2015, 05:32:06 PM
I really doubt that anyone wants the limit raised.  No one will benefit from this, not even new adopters.  There might be a pshychological disadvantage to using satoshis, but to me this is an interesting part of bitcoins.  The currency has its own flavor and does not need to pretend to be fiat in order to have success.  As the usa continues to print money and give out freebees to banks, i can see the average person slowly beginning to see the advantage of a 21 mil cap.
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Canadian Government Decides -- Bitcoin is Hands Off -- No Real Regulation on: June 20, 2015, 01:56:39 AM
Ha!  Take that, stupid wallstreet banks.  Can't bribe them all I guess.  Lets hope that this sets the precedent for other nations to follow in the future, although I doubt that it will happen in the usa, ever.
209  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: DoubleCoins Fold it in half your coins within 24 hours on: June 19, 2015, 01:36:01 AM
Really?  Even money market accounts are not 100% safe, so how can this investment be?  Please, tell us how you plan to generate these really good returns.  Seriously, I want to know.
210  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: BTC double - working since 2 weeks. Pay a little! on: June 19, 2015, 01:34:39 AM
This has scam written all over it.  Buyer beware.
211  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: 130% in three days. on: June 19, 2015, 01:33:40 AM
Aww, cmon at least give us a graphic or something.  Scammers just don't seem to put in any effort any more.
212  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why are there so few players at web-based bitcoin poker websites? on: June 19, 2015, 12:21:17 AM
I'm not poker expert or something, but I think that serious poker players prefer games IRL over clicking on web..

This is exactly what I was thinking.  I don't play poker all that often, but really there is no substitute to facing your opponents, having a showdown, and going home the victor or loser.  I have tried online poker but it lacks that certain thrill I get from conflicts.  The only advantage to online poker is that i can do it in my underwear.
213  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitreserve: using Bitcoin to replace your bank on: June 19, 2015, 12:17:47 AM
I am not really sure what the point of this service is.  One of the main attractions of bitcoin (for me) is that I can use it and not need a bank.  I can get a trezor or ledger and send all of my transactions from a pretty secure device, where ever I want, quickly, and semi- anonymously.  I fail to see how this service augments bitcoins.  Maybe it adds a layer of convenience for businesses, especially businesses in california that want to accept bitcoins, but not hold them because of the regulations there.
214  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Bitcoiner here. on: June 19, 2015, 12:13:50 AM
avoid altcoins for as long as you can. there is no going back

Alas I have gone down that rabbit hole.

Welcome to the forums, and welcome to bitcoin.  There is no going back from cryptos either, altcoin or not.  Welcome to the future (you will soon know what this means).

Yep, I got a few coins too.  I like it at this price, and looking at the volume since it was added to trex I think this coin has good potential.

217  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ello! newbie here on: June 17, 2015, 03:16:00 PM
Welcome!  If you like faucets then try a rotator.  However IMO faucets are basically a waste of time.  You are better off making money on sites like fiverr, where you almost certainly will have a skill that you can market.  Or can you offer some product on the marketplace here?  Maybe you are really good at carving wood?  You could carve novelty coins and sell them if they are good quality.  That is just an example, but I bet you have a better use of your time  than playing faucets.
218  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: BTCPonzi.com - 150% Return on: June 17, 2015, 03:11:10 PM
So this is basically a game like chainprofit.com?  But without the time limit?  What % cut do you take?  How is 50% ref sustainable?  The thing I like about chain profit is that it is a straight up game, and you can easily lose your money.  But it is very transparent, and the game is set up so that the dev will make more money from not running away with the bag (in the long run).

This looks like a fun game, maybe I will try it out later Smiley
219  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: 1GetPaiDxjEuWN3KJTnY9Cbqv9QcR8zcME paying 1% daily 7 days per week for 200 days. on: June 17, 2015, 03:06:12 PM
Maybe a 1% ponzi will last longer than normal?  This just looks like an outright scam to me though, I think that he will just run with the money if deposits reach whatever his target is.  Buy beware, even if you see some tx in this thread.
220  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ ANN ] Get Paid to Post on: June 17, 2015, 02:38:14 AM
Are you allowed spam posts?  Because that might be the only way this makes sense:  I get to spam affiliate links and earn a few satoshis at the same time lol.
