201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin puzzle transaction ~32 BTC prize to who solves it on: July 04, 2018, 05:28:53 PM
So....

You are trying to find a pattern in random data, right?
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin puzzle transaction ~32 BTC prize to who solves it on: June 30, 2018, 08:42:51 PM
After 4 years (maybe even earlier) when the reward for bitcoin dropped Instead of mining bitcoin will go in search (something similar LBC with Chinese capacities) of lost millions of bitcoins then this puzzle will not last long. However a clever mathematician with a calculator would have found a way to puzzle now not necessarily accurate mathematics but all sorts of paradox.
Miners have very fast hashing hardware.

This puzzle is about quickly calculating public keys from private keys - not hashing.

So all that fancy mining hardware cannot be applied to this puzzle.

If anyone has a "better way" to do this to the point that they can claim the remaining Bitcoins in this puzzle then they could claim anyone and everyone's Bitcoins, Bitcoin is broken, Bitcoin becomes worthless, they can then claim all of nothing.
203  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: June 29, 2018, 09:53:07 PM
Received email from newsletters@blockchain.com  about changing domain from .info to .com.

And indeed if you go to blockchain.info, it will redirect you to blockchain.com.

With so many scams around, is it safe to login into blockchain.com now?

BE VERY CAREFUL!!!

I just got an email that claimed to be from Blockchain.info.  It had a clickthrough that went to  https://login.blockcehain.com

NOTE THE MISSPELLED DOMAIN NAME!

If you click through it will ask you to "enter your recovery phrase"

If you do you they will be able to steal all the Bitcoins in that account so - Do NOT enter your recovery phrase.

204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin puzzle transaction ~32 BTC prize to who solves it on: June 29, 2018, 04:06:03 AM
Maybe somehow the word (passphrase) tear out of the private key. Grin Or there only one way, you can select 64 characters hexadecimal system and this will be a private key, you can get the same address through the word but through the address we can not see this word. As the author of a puzzle in general he scattered keys in space If he did not select the address manually. Or he has a hardware wallet (deterministic). How can we repeat the principle of his puzzle just like that scattered at the same addresses. Or was it an isolated case in the history of the universe?

All the private keys for each range were created by generating a 256 bit secure random number and then masking the result down to the desired key length.  You could easily create a similar puzzle if you had enough Bitcoins to do it.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin puzzle transaction ~32 BTC prize to who solves it on: June 22, 2018, 05:28:22 PM
The person who created the puzzle has already posted exactly how he did it.

Not exactly. He just mentioned that values are random. But randomness can be very different.
If you look at the table with keys 1-55 you'll see that keys tend to sit in second part of range.

Unless and until they don't.  The selection of key is totally random within the range with all values equally likely.  Seeing or creating "trends" in random data is a very human thing to do but unfortunately for your theory the private keys for each range were created by having a computer create a 256 bit secure random number and then masking the result down to the desired key length.

If you search the top half of the range for any key there is exactly a 50% chance of the key being in the top half of the range.

I like it! don't know how but I won some bytes pofcourse I spend for tickets. you can easy try it in your wallet using bot store.... it is hard to explaine, I did not get the main pattern how does it exactly work)
Is LuckyBytes working for you?  It is not working for me.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 22, 2018, 12:42:40 PM
Luckybytes is no longer working for me.  Anyone know what is going on?

I was only complaining about the fact it was not 100% premined and new coins are generated. An alternate version of clams coins without new coins generation would probably be the fairest distribution ever and I would think it would be an very awesome idea.

I am looking forward to your new coin.  What are you going to call it?  "inashedcoin"?  Good luck with it.  You are going to need it.

What new coin?
inashed was complaining about how CLAMs were distributed and came up with an idea for a new coin exactly like CLAM but only different so I am encouraging them to go ahead and make a new coin because there are not enough coins in the world yet Wink

Are airdrops over or will they still be? This coin has the sense to buy before the last airdrop, after the airdrop and the sale of coins received from it, there will be a huge increase
No more free money for you.
211  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How much would you trust trezor? on: March 20, 2018, 10:20:06 PM
... you put all your coins in this trezor and can generate there own personal  secured key just like ledger Nano

Not exactly since the Nano is broken and the Trezor is not:

212  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: March 09, 2018, 02:19:12 AM
Also I would really like to see a video showing what the process is like for digitally signing a longish document on the trezor model t. Or does the model t still have a character limit on digitally signed text? As far as I can surmise, the ability to digitally sign a long document like a standard legal contract is the only real advantage over the original trezor. I would be willing to send a five dollar tip to anyone who makes this for me.

Also I would be interested to know If anyone has any other reasons why the model t is preferable to them over the original. Yes, I am searching for a reason to buy a new toy!
When I get mine I will let you know - but it has not arrived yet.

Yes

What exactly are a, b, c etc?  bytes?  words?  texts?  and what exactly are H0 to H15?  what is the operation (previous)?

Can you please open a separate thread for SilentNotary?
Yes! let's use this thread ONLY for "What happened to my free money" posts.  All other posts should be moved to another thread.

If you have to trust the client, then your implementation is already broken.
Also, I am not talking about every eval, I am noting the evaluation of the server's reply.
This has been cussed and discussed ad nauseam in this thread.  The solution is simple:  if you do not trust the client do not run the client.
218  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: February 27, 2018, 11:56:06 PM
Cool idea of guys! Very useful thing in the modern world. I keep large enough amounts in bitcoin and to protect these funds becomes a big problem.
And you did not try to withdraw your money? This will allow you to maximally secure your savings. Or invest in some kind of project.
To deduce - not the best idea. I then can not make money on bitcoin. And I do not need it.
Have you already been abducted by electronic money? Someone hacked your e-wallet? Or do you know those who have been stolen? I just do not worry about my money. I think they are well protected.
I was not hacked, but I would not want to be at the victim's place. I have nowhere else to invest, I'm not very rich and every cent I have in my account is important to me. Losing a little will even be unpleasant.
This is in vain. Invest your funds not only in the crypto currency. Let them be small, but you will have at least some kind of insurance. At least you will still have money somewhere else. This will protect you. Let it be gold, real estate, or something else.

It it just me or does anyone else think this is an account farmer talking to one of his sock puppets?  If so I am going to ask both to be banned.

Update/Warning/Plea:

You may recall that I had some CLAM taken from my wallet due to my own stupidity of importing well known private keys into my wallet when I first got into CLAM and then subsequently, many moons later, reusing the CLAM addresses generated from these well known private keys to store CLAM I had purchased.  Eventually someone else imported these same well known private keys into their wallet allowing them to sweep my CLAM off to an address under their control.

This is an update to that situation, a warning to others not to do what I did, and a plea to the person who swept my CLAM to please contact me and return the CLAM.

Here is the entire list of CLAM swept from my wallet:

I have migrated all my Bitcoins to a Segwit address. But now I can not claim GBYTE with my BTC balance? Right?

Right, you cant get them with segwit address. And you cant claim retroactively.
Will that be implemented in the near future? And please check out https://byteroll.com/. It is not reachable the whole day. Seems like webserver crashed.
It will get implemented as soon as there is a standardized way to sign a message with a SegWit address.

This is not a ByteBall issue but you can help by bugging the SegWit community/developers until they standardize a way to sign messages.
