202  Economy / Economics / Re: Its going to $454, no Its going to zero, no on second thought its going to $50 on: November 16, 2013, 01:25:05 PM
this is the most neurotic sentiment Ive seen on an issue possibly in my whole career.  Ive traded commodities for 16+ years, and its easy to see in the price action that the people in this market are emotionally unstable and immature. The greed / fear oscillation is beyond compare.  Match that with tiny float / no liquidity and you get this roller coaster of emotional and financial insanity.

For those having important money in BTC, i.e. college fund, retirement etc, you should be warned that the the lows will be plunged again. Protect yourself, at this stage of development this is a wealth grinder.  Ive seen the effect is some OTC stock issues, but nothing this extreme.

Oh, look guys.  Another trader who thinks he can apply his experience to bitcoin...

Good luck with that.  But after losing your shirt 3 or 4 times, you'll start to sound like us.

Buy and hold.  You might try it.  But you won't until you lose a lot of money.

Even those with trading bot might lose out in the long run compare to buy and hold strategy...

I'm running  two  30 g bfl miners and 10 block erupters   with a Pi ---  and 20 erupters on  another Pi    i'm using  d link  hub for most erupters  and an orion 10 hub-----  is working great but every 2 days or so one of the pi miners  shuts down  any suggestions

Apart from power supply problems, did you check the temperature? It might be overheating...
204  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Mining with <$500 for Fun? on: November 16, 2013, 01:22:44 PM
I'm looking to mine for fun with around $500. Which is the best option, 2xasicminer blades? I live in US.
This is strictly for fun, not to necessarily make profit, so advice not to buy or buy btc on exchange don't count. Smiley

$500 is too little for any decent miners... at this point buying the 2TH/s is the only way to make real money... suggest you to buy from cex.io instead when the price drop...
205  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Ok, tomorrow I'm going to SOLO mine BTC for the fuck of it! on: November 16, 2013, 01:21:36 PM
i would rather do this than buy a lottery ticket.

I was going to say this too, the odd for lottery is higher then solo mining..
206  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: [BUY] USB Erupter on: November 16, 2013, 01:20:27 PM
Hi guys,
i'm looking for 1-20 USB Erupter (also used yet) in order to spend ~5$.

USB erupter isn't power efficient at all, you should at least buy the KNC 550 gh/s....

208  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BITCON MINER VIRUS on: November 16, 2013, 01:18:10 PM
I know about this virus it is usually created on a botnet were many people get infected/given a virus and then a hole bunch of people mine for this 1 person it is crazy but has recently became low profit so you should not find this virus to much anymore

Wrong, if the one that created the botnet is smart enough, he should mine the most profitable CPU coins instead of BTC....

210  Economy / Economics / Re: Worth paying into a UK pension? Or invest in PMs/BTC instead? on: November 16, 2013, 01:15:53 PM
Pensions are a scam.

Bitcoin is the future.

But still pensions are safer then Bitcoin......

213  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Does mining require a professional on: November 16, 2013, 01:12:28 PM
It really depends on what you are buying, USB erupter should be really easy and things like GPU you need some skills...
214  Economy / Economics / Re: Hedge against BitCoin collapse on: November 16, 2013, 01:11:19 PM
One approach couple be to manage the btc% of your total net worth

As btc rises and that percentage increases, sell some btc to get back to your target

And if it falls we should just buy back, right? Grin

That is absolutely right, average down and sell high...
