201  Economy / Reputation / Re: OgNasty is telling scammed newbies on his Escrow thread it was me without proof! on: March 19, 2018, 04:41:46 PM
And everyone questions my motivations?
I'm just trying to understand what happened. I'm saying here that I understand why you assumed OgNasty was accusing you. Therefore I don't understand at all OgNasty's: "seemingly admitted to being the scammer impersonating me on Telegram".

I did troll him for a bit, but this is crossing the line
It does seem that initial trolling started this. And a lot of things between you have crossed the line.

I can agree that some arguments/threads against Og have perhaps been taken too far, however I don't see owlcatz being at fault whatsoever in this case.
I agree. Both of them have taken things too far several times. In this particular case I see OgNasty is in the wrong, unless I just don't understand something

I said I reported the info I had on the Telegram scammer to Telegram (scammer's user ID, the conversation screenshots, etc.) and for some reason owlcatz then said I threatened to report him to the police, which is either a lie by owlcatz, or it means he is the scammer
No, there's a simpler explanation:
  • You advised Telegram to file a police report against their user who had scammed
  • Michael said you pointed in ow's direction, i.e. you accused him of being the scammer
Therefore you think owlcatz is the scammer and reported him to the police.
I'm not saying that necessarily happened, Michael could have lied, he could have misunderstood you, there were several assumptions and some of them could have been wrong.
But that is a much simpler explanation why owlcatz assumed you reported him to the police.

Concluding this means owlcatz admitted to being the scammer doesn't make too much sense.

Actually, he's a liar about me reporting him to the police either way, because that's not what I said...
So you're saying he's wrong at assuming that's what you said?
And you assumed he confessed to being the scammer? Have you thought maybe you're wrong at assuming that too?

Edit:
I see you left negative trust to minifrij for making a wrong assumption. Does making wrong assumptions deserve negative trust? I strongly disagree.
I think correcting him is enough, especially when the assumption does make at least a little sense, even if not completely right.
202  Economy / Reputation / Re: OgNasty is telling scammed newbies on his Escrow thread it was me without proof! on: March 19, 2018, 04:13:56 PM
Where exactly did he admit to being the scammer impersonating you on Telegram? I didn't get that
OgNasty said that he would be contacting the police on who he thinks did it. He also said that he thinks owlcatz is the person who he thinks did it. Logically owlcatz then assumed that, because of this, Og would be contacting the police on him.

According to Og, this means that owlcatz is guilty.
Is that so OgNasty?
I would think owlcatz assumed OgNasty would be contacting the police on him because of Michael's "And yes, OGNasty pointed me in your direction".

It really seems both OgNasty and owlcatz are just looking for ways to accuse each other for anything at all, regardless of how little sense it makes
203  Economy / Reputation / Re: OgNasty is telling scammed newbies on his Escrow thread it was me without proof! on: March 19, 2018, 04:02:58 PM
owlcatz created a bogus scam accusation thread and seemingly admitted to being the scammer impersonating me on Telegram to dupe users searching for escrow.  When he was called out on this Freudian slip of the keyboard, he moved the thread to the archive section and locked it.  Is owlcatz the Telegram scammer?

204  Other / Meta / Re: [SCAM PREVENTION]Remove self-moderation for topics within the marketplace! on: March 19, 2018, 03:44:50 PM
It kind of happened under the radar, and afaik, no one took credit for it. Maybe ask EcuaMobi?
I don't know who made that thread sticky. I don't have any information. I just hope it helps reducing the scams, especially against newbies and non-registered users.

I just saw this, sorry for the late reply:

I'd also forbid them to unlock threads.

Yep, I have that in my original suggestion. Locked threads can just as easily be using in the same fashion as self-moderation.

I know you included locked threads in OP. My point was that I'd forbid threads being unlocked rather than being locked.
Allowing newbies to lock threads can be useful some times.

206  Economy / Auctions / Re: Domains: ● LiteMarketplace.com ● LitePricing.com ● LiteStore.net ● on: March 19, 2018, 03:30:00 PM
Bump

LiteMarketplace.com and LitePricing.com are still available
207  Economy / Reputation / Re: shdvb hacked? on: March 17, 2018, 12:38:18 AM
I've verified OP controls the email addresses shine20078@hotmail.com and shdvb@hotmail.com.

I sent random codes to those addresses and OP successfully PM'd them to me:

9ufYooak4jFWi5HW47l9
3xXFKiEF7mWbAOyinwUE

Thanks.Smiley

Because these addresses were posted several times long ago (for example here and here among others) as well as irfan_pak10's confirmation, I'm quite sure the account shdvb hasn't been hacked
208  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Merit abuse & possible Alt of a Scammer on: March 15, 2018, 04:24:25 PM
mari88 is a known alias of djeezer12, for example the fake self-testimonials shown here: https://bitcoinfasttx.com/testimonials
This page links B!tco!n$'s Telegram @cryptonatorz to that same alias mari88: https://paxful.com/offer/v6W1MW58kor

So yes, it's quite obvious those accounts are the same person. Tagged.

Post or PM me the domain
210  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WARNING] Avoid auto-buy links, especially by newbies, locked or self-moderated on: March 14, 2018, 10:55:57 PM
New scammer thread by an old scammer with known scam reports:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3125868.0
Let me know what old scammer that is, with what scam reports
211  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WARNING] Avoid auto-buy links, especially by newbies, locked or self-moderated on: March 14, 2018, 10:41:14 PM
I've edited OP to ask guests to register before browsing the marketplace or dealing here so that they can see other users' trust.
I still think trust should be shown to everyone, registered and non-registered users, but I hope this small warning helps a few people in the meantime.
212  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is spamming negative reputation legal on Bitcointalk ? on: March 13, 2018, 11:52:26 PM
If trust spamming is legal, I'll make sure to submit at least 10-20 pages to each user from now on
No, it's not legal:
Trust spam isn't allowed
You may get non-spam negative trust if you do the same as those scammers/spammers.

That trust spam should be eventually removed, but it seems it's not high priority at all.
213  Economy / Auctions / Re: Domains: ● LiteMarketplace.com ● LitePricing.com ● LiteStore.net ● on: March 10, 2018, 01:30:13 AM
LiteStore.net has been sold.

LiteMarketplace.com and LitePricing.com are still available. Starting bid is BTC0.005 for any of them

214  Other / Meta / Re: How Private Is Our Forum?? on: March 08, 2018, 09:19:49 PM
There are technical security issues with Cloudflare but more to the point:

Has Theymos ever received or honored a National Security Letter (NSL) to reveal the name/IP address of any bitcointalk users?

Yes. This was recently discussed:

215  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [Warning] Never buy using auto-buy links posted by newbies, especially if locked on: March 07, 2018, 01:40:19 AM
You should add self-moderation to the title, they are starting to unlock and just rely on self-moderation, haha
Yes, it seems some of them changed their modus operandi :/
I've updated the title and OP and flagged a few more
216  Other / Meta / Re: Trust spam report + suggestion on: March 05, 2018, 04:13:22 PM
Something should be done about blatant abuses but nothing likely will. Theymos is probably too busy to investigate and I don't think cyrus has the powers to remove it (though I could be wrong, but he'll also likely be too busy to do so)
Any reason why no other staff member can do that? I guess you asked that already. At least global moderator should be able to delete obvious spam. Logs can be enabled if theymos can make sure there was no abuse at some point, and I guess he fully trusts you

I've had one on my hilariousandco account who went on a spamming spree in the past removed
Same here. Someone left about 50 trust entries from several accounts (of one single person) and they got removed immediately. I didn't even complain. I guess I was just lucky that time

I've suggested before some restrictions should be put in place like maybe a user can only leave one feedback per day on a user (or maybe even longer - week, month etc). They can still edit the feedback with any additional updates but there's probably not many good reasons why people should be able to spam a users trust
I agree, absolutely. You didn't get any reply on that?

I'm having the same issue with member Buzzlieve1992, who left several VERY long, consecutive, negative trusts on my page.

I'm all for being able to leave trust as you see fit, but this is just abuse.  He's obviously trying to obscure the rest of my trust page with these unnecessary trusts, and his is retaliatory feedback, plain & simple.  I left him a neg for being an account dealer.

So from what I gather, there's no good way to report these jackoffs?
Yes I saw he sent thousands of lines of trust spam to several users including you and me. It seems there's no official way to report that at the moment. It's just about being lucky that theymos sees it and has time to remove it

I think we should allow those that have received trust to write a rebuttal/response to any trust rating they receive
It does make sense. I would support that
217  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [Warning] Never buy using auto-buy links posted by newbies, especially if locked on: March 05, 2018, 03:45:27 PM
Bump and adding https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3062697.0 (fresh out of the oven!)
Flagged

This seller is offering unreal discounts and keeps deleting posts and locking his thread as soon as someone complains.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3061332.0
Flagged. Besides, this user is almost certainly laundering money. Even if he does send the cards they will probably fail later and the buyer can get legal problems for using a code bought with a stolen credit card

Here's a good chuckle (it shows how no one looks).  "PS30" (AKA Skelder/JAACoff) actually lists a vouch for himself in his own thread.  Guess he can't keep track of all his alts.
Indeed! It's getting absurd
218  Economy / Auctions / Re: Domains: ● LiteMarketplace.com ● LitePricing.com ● LiteStore.net ● on: March 05, 2018, 03:34:28 PM
0.005 BTC for LiteStore.net
Only about 7h remaining for this auction
219  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [Warning] Never buy using auto-buy links posted by newbies, especially if locked on: March 04, 2018, 03:46:17 AM
Even most registered users can't see it (and the scammers know) unless it is set in the user profile.  You don't see the "untrusted" trust which contains 95% of the warnings which usually are correct on those scxam threads.  Only DT shows by default.
Every registered user can see the trust according to their trust list, which is DefaultTrust initially.
My point is non-registered users can't see any trust at all, not even as "untrusted". I've asked that to change
220  Other / Meta / Re: Trust spam report + suggestion on: March 04, 2018, 03:42:47 AM
Bump and update:

Te trust spammer Moseas79 has added 11 more trust entries with 81 lines each.
The total is now 30 entries of 81 lines each, totaling 2,430 lines of trust spam on my profile.
Plus, Buzzlieve1992 has left 6,411 lines of trust spam, 426 of those on my profile.

I'm still waiting for:
  • Trust left by Moseas79 and Buzzlieve1992 to be removed and, hopefully, their accounts to be banned
  • An admin to tell me what's the best way to report this. I don't think creating a new thread should be required
  • Some comments regarding my suggestion about setting some limits when leaving too many or too long trust, especially for newbies
