I use cryptsy and bter both without problems. Cryptsy did have a laggy period while upgrading something with Quark yesterday but it all seems fine now. Another topic: Is anyone else that's using src.coinmine.pl having time outs over the last 5 hours? The pool's hashrate graphs look like everything is ok, but my current balance is around half of what it should be. I'm getting this, repeating. [2013-12-17 05:52:20] Stratum detected new block [2013-12-17 05:54:20] Stratum connection timed out [2013-12-17 05:54:20] Stratum connection interrupted Getting the problem with both mine2 and min1 servers. I can't get it to accept my threads at all.

I changed the loging and password back for posting reasons. The "boooo" would continue over and over.
BTW, trying this for securecoin

This tutorial has gotten me farther than most...lol, but I'm getting a "stratum failed to authenticate" error, any suggestions?
That means your login credentials are incorrect. Make sure your you are putting your username on the pool followed by a . followed by the worker name, which in the tutorial I suggested you make a 1. Then a : followed by your password, again I suggested you make this x. So, if your me and your username is cainy393 on the pool's website and your worker name is one and your worker password is x then you login credentials are as follows: Just to stress my point, here is a screenshot of how this appears on the "My Workers" page: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgyazo.com%2Faa248fd7273789ad1ed2e29ad5b03e22.png&t=663&c=_qMhGYAPFWsFNw) Hope this helps ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) You, sir are a God among mortals ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) . Can't thank you enough, I'm not the most computer literate person and I have been fighting this thing for a week straight. Much respect!

Thanks for the link, I'll give them a try.

Is there a pool for securecoin, or is it just solo mined?
|
|

Also now that its "open source" are you able to mine it?
Being Open Source has nothing to do with mining, but if you want to use your computer to crunch numbers and get XRP, you can do that. Go to www.ComputingForGood.org and get started. One big difference is that when you trade computation for XRP, you aren't just generating heat like with Bitcoin mining. Instead, you are crunching results for scientific research (mostly AIDS and research). I've read about this before, but just recently signed up for it. My computer is by no means a mean machine ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) , but every little bit helps right?

I think that the more mainstream recognition the better!

I'm working on raising some funds to get in on this group buy. I'm not tech savvy enough for my own setup, so this should be a good fit for me and I expect the LTC value to increase as cryptocurrencies become more well known to average joes like myself.

I was under the impression it was basically unlimited also, I was going to place an order today ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif)

I was looking at them initially, but I don't want to risk a 30-45 day limbo.

I am extremely new to bitcoins and after much nailbiting and research I went with Coinbase to start due to its ease of use and registration. It may not be as secure as others, but for me at this junction in my bitcoin experience I felt it was the easiest to get my feet wet so to speak. It stays synced with the blockchain.
