The $64,000 question is "What was pirate doing with the bitcoins he borrowed?"
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC-E (trollbox) on: August 17, 2012, 02:24:02 AM
If you want to trade LTC, where else can you go besides BTC-E? There's no decent volume anywhere else.
206  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Dwolla User Agreement as it Relates to Virtual Currency Products on: August 15, 2012, 02:08:05 PM
Does anyone know if CampBX and/or Intersango have received written permission to use Dwolla?
207  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are USD Withdrawals From Mt Gox to Dwolla Still Taking Weeks? on: August 15, 2012, 02:02:09 PM
Mt Gox, can you give us an update? Are USD withdrawals from Mt Gox being processed any faster or are you still waiting for funds to arrive? I've got a small USD withdrawal from August 8th that I'm still waiting on. Are USD that customers deposit to Mt Gox from Dwolla available for Mt Gox to use for customer withdrawals or does Mt Gox not trust Dwolla enough to keep significant amounts of USD at Dwolla?
208  Economy / Trading Discussion / Dwolla User Agreement as it Relates to Virtual Currency Products on: August 06, 2012, 10:37:46 PM
Dwolla's User Agreement is here
https://www.dwolla.com/tos

In part it reads
"User Conduct

You understand and agree that you will not engage in the following activities:

● Use the Dwolla System without written consent to operate or engage in any business regulated by FinCen, including the money service business;

● Act as a marketplace and/or exchange for virtual currency products without prior written consent;"

I think this is the written consent that Mt Gox has been waiting for but not yet received. Have Camp BX and Intersango received this written consent?

As a non-lawyer, I read the above text only to apply to exchanges and those individuals that are trading using Dwolla are doing so within the requirements of the user agreement. Can anyone else shed some light on this issue and how it's affecting the exchanges that use Dwolla?

We have some good news for everyone soon, just waiting for some ACH transfers to clear...

Give us a hint. Is it Dwolla related or something else?
210  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HOLY SHIT BTC-E.COM hit $40 per BTC! on: July 31, 2012, 03:45:46 PM
Bruteforced the password? I doubt it. 1.54 Hundred Thousand Centuries (Assuming one hundred trillion guesses per second) according to https://www.grc.com/haystack.htm
But instead of a 16 character password, I still prefer the 50 character password I use with uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols.
211  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitFloor.com Rocks! on: July 30, 2012, 03:30:36 PM
BitFloor recently passed Camp BX to move from #5 to #4 on the 30-day BTC/USD volume list at bitcoincharts.com. BitFloor volume for the past 30 days is over 40,000 BTC. Congratulations BitFloor! Keep on Rockin'!
212  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: btcex "Maintenance"? on: July 27, 2012, 05:27:28 PM
Sounds like a great business plan.
1) open an exchange
2) get as much BTC and fiat currency deposited as possible
3) close exchange and run off with with the money
213  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Bitcoin no Brasil é "regulamentado" pela Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM)! on: July 27, 2012, 05:00:38 PM
Eu li a carta CVM para dizer que eles estavam reivindicando jurisdição sobre o grupo de investimento. Eu não vi nada onde a CVM estava afirmando uma opinião sobre bitcoins.

When I google my car's VIN I get "Your search did not match any documents".
215  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: USD between MTGOX <--> DWOLLA on: July 27, 2012, 12:38:16 AM
I have Mt Gox USD. I want Dwolla. A little over $2,700 total but will accept smaller amounts. Looking to do 1 to 1 exchange. PM me if you are interested.

ING Direct p2p <--> Mt Gox USD CODE
217  Economy / Currency exchange / USD Between Mt Gox <--> ING Direct P2P on: July 26, 2012, 04:41:52 PM
With all the delays Mt Gox is having in transferring USD, I thought I'd put up another thread to help alleviate the situation.

This thread will be for those wishing to trade Mt Gox USD codes for USD via ING Direct's P2P service.

Post what you want to do and search for others who would match your needs.

I'm willing to sell Mt Gox USD codes for USD via ING Direct's P2P service 1 to 1. You go first. PM me if interested.

Daniel
218  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Want To Buy: ONE Carfax report on: July 26, 2012, 03:37:59 PM
Anyone has carfax reports remaining? I will pay 1 BTC to get a report on 1 vehicle.

PM sent. I have a 30-day CarFax service starting from July 8th, 2012. If anyone else wants a carfax, PM me. I'll need the license plate number and state issuing the license plate. I do have a limited number, 4 left I think, of reports that I can get with the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number).

If you don't have an ING Direct Electric Orange checking account and want one, PM me and I'll send you a referral where you can get a $25 bonus if you open your account with $250 or more. (Disclaimer, I would also get a $10 bonus). I do have to have your first name, last name and email address in order to send you the referral. If you prefer not to give out that info, I understand. But open an ING Direct Electric Orange checking account, you won't regret it.
is this only for customers in the USA?
TIA

From ING Direct's website
"What are the eligibility requirements for Electric Orange checking?

You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with a valid Social Security number and be at least 18 years old. As part of the account opening process, we may or may not obtain information about you from a consumer reporting agency (a "hard pull"). If we do, we may or may not open Electric Orange for you based on that information.

You are not required to keep your other checking account after your Electric Orange is opened. You do not need to have another ING DIRECT account in order to apply for Electric Orange."
