Why are you guys yelling about a 1.5 mil premine when we're, at the time of this writing, on block 728.
500 per block.. block 728 = 364,000 total coins in existence.

Bad idea, let solo miners get set up for ~5 mins then turn the pool on to prevent a fork.

duly noted sir. i will. i just hate to see all of these people keep on riding some alt-coin train that's been called out and proven with scam.. it doesn't affect me directly at first.. but it may affect all of us in the end if it continues this way i would assume.
I think its possible that new coins kill older ones, also investors are shaky about where to the put their money for a good return, I am still new to this compared to some, I will be watching through 2014 for sure, I do feel like some old users know how to scam, a good coin name a little hype, walla btc in the bank, makes it difficult to sort it all out, exchanges might be getting a cut of the scam by mining the hell out of a coin they plan to list, sell their coins off while their buggy network throws a noob for a loop. While we all appreciate your concern, people are going to do what they want to do. The scamcoins will be mined and dumped. Exchanges will pick them up because they take a cut of the transaction, they don't give two shits what is being traded, they take their cut in the form of BTC. As long as these coins are mined, they will continue to be released. This is what a free market looks like. If you don't like it, try your hand at mutual funds and the stock market and let me know how you do. |

I'll admit I like your positive attitude, if you want people to take it seriously you need to be better prepared. If you're just doing this for fun then I won't try to stop you. Totally depends where you want this to go. If you release a wallet that doesn't even have the proper graphics and names added nobody will take it seriously and it will die in a week. |

I don't hear a lot of great things about Cryptsy. Is it just because it has higher trade volumes?
Cryptsy is slow and complete garbage. I cannot believe how many glitches and problems I've had with the site. I have been using the site for roughly 3 weeks and had to submit 5 help tickets and my issues is STILL not resolved. The site is a joke. It takes 10x longer to submit or withdraw anything from Cryptsy and half the time while I'm trying to navigate the site I get booted out and have to log in again. |

What's wrong with this coin? Solo mining is going fine but I'm getting weird blcok amounts, I don't think the payout is correct.
I keep getting amounts like "1000.000166". Any block that I found that falls between 1000 and 10000 is a whole number, all of the blocks that are 1000 have some weird fraction of a coin afterward.

could it be transaction fees bolted on? No these are amounts that I mined, not transactions. I'm pretty sure the coding for the random block amounts has a mistake somewhere. If you go look at any of the Velocitycoin mining pools you'll see that the block value is 1000 about 20% of the time. Something is fucked up. |

I think there's a lot of value in the fact that these small altcoins are attracting the attention of people holding large amounts of bitcoin and effectively moving that wealth around.
Nobody is paying cash for these. It's all based on bitcoin and as long as bitcoin is being spread around, we are succeeding.
