What are the plans for this?  What is Turbo Stake?

I found a description in the readme at github. It looks like it isn't hi-pos:

Quote
The early part of the Synergy PoS period makes use of Turbo Stake, which awards Synergy holders greater interest for every stake. The multiplier is directly used in the reward calculation by multiplying it with the base Synergy interest rate of 10% per year.

Holders build the Turbo Stake multiplier over two days by staking consistently. After that, the multiplier will level out and the holder will stake with a consistent rate that depends on how much stake competes with his. The Turbo Stake period lasts 30 days from the time of launch.

That sounds pretty interesting. I might be glad I stumbled on this one tonight.

But still, how do you start Solo CPU mining?  I don't think there is a way... is there?

There is a way to solo cpu mine. But you need to find the right mining program for your OS. Then you just point the cpu miner at your own client if you have your conf file set up correctly. This is an X11 coin. There are several tutorials on the web.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SNRG] Synergy with Turbo Stake | X11 | NINJA! Now in PoW Phase on: May 26, 2015, 07:02:20 AM
how to start mining from commandline?

setgenerate doesn't seem to be there Sad

Correct, you cannot mine from within the Qt.

Not from withing Qt, but command-line wallet.  How to start mining?

How to solo mine?

If you have a GPU, you'll need something like bfgminer to solo.

How to CPU mine solo?

The network hashes are already 11 GH/s. It's not worth frying your CPU unless you mine to a pool.

You need a CPU miner too. It depends on your OS as to which one you use.

By the way, nice launch devs, it's been smooth sailing from the start.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SNRG] Synergy with Turbo Stake | X11 | Now in PoW Phase on: May 26, 2015, 06:21:02 AM

1. Why are you calling it "turbo stake" instead of "hi-POS"? What's the difference?
2. Why are there no pool operators on this? Where is everyone?
3. This is ninja? Why don't you say it in the ANN?

Welcome back everyone.  Bitcointalk being down was unfortunate, but it allowed us to get more work done so we will have the enhanced mac wallet today and a sneak peek of what the arbitrage bot will look like.

For now, we have to deal with this issue with the checkpointing server.  The other day when the block explorer halted, that's when we noticed an attack on the main node which put server resources (memory, swap, and cpu) at 100% so we had to restart it.  This caused a fork, but we fixed it within 30 minutes.  Some of you may be on the same fork as the attack, which is easy to fix.

Check http://explorer.graphcoin.co/ and make sure your wallet is on the same block as this, if not, you will need to back up your wallet.dat in the %appdata% directory and then delete everything except your wallet.dat and resync.

The main checkpointing server is built into the wallet, but if you want to be extra careful, you can put:

addnode=explorer.graphcoin.co
addnode=62.116.254.204

To your .conf file

Right now we are going to send Bittrex a support ticket to get this resolved.

It also seems that though i have cleared out all the files in my %appdata% folder and re-synced i am still missing around 2k coins if i compare my balance to the block explorer.

Also why is the bittrex wallet for GPH showing as inactive???

Whats going on ?

Any thoughts ?

have you tried "repairwallet"  ?

You can also try adding rescan=1 to the conf and restart. If you were staking on a fork, particularly during the hipos phase, you will have a ton of coins. It doesn't mean you lost many coins. The fork happened very near the end of hipos, so the balance you would have had mining on the correct fork wouldn't be too much bigger than not mining on it.

There does seem to be a fork out there. One of the biggest causes may be from early on when it was suggested to add a suprnova node to the conf. This suprnova node is not on the right chain. It's possible to fully sync the right chain by removing all addnode entries from the conf file. You have to delete all database info from your app dir after you quit your wallet and before you start again.

ARRRGG, well I hate to admit I pulled such a newb move after being so careful  when changing wallet.dat file for so long... I finally slipped up.

if I have 2 wallets for a coin I obviously keep the .dat's saved in their own files and earlier I was moving my 4000+ GPH that I had saved up since my first buy to a new wallet and when I backed up my my 1st wallet that I had sent all the coins from I accidently pasted it into the file that had the 2nd wallet.dat file in it which sent that .dat file to the recycling... obviously not a big deal just recover it from the recycle bin.... but when I clicked on restore and it asked me if I wanted to overwrite the .dat file (wallet 1) so I clicked cancel and moved wallet 1's .dat to it's proper file, then when I opened the recycle bin again the wallet 2 .dat file was gone.

I'm at a loss... still can't believe it, have been trying recover programs, but haven't found anything close to a "wallet.dat" yet

AAAARRRRGGGG Huh

EDIT: obviously 4000 GPH is a lot to me... f#ck'n sucks but looks like there's 4000 less GPH in existence

Fucking windows bullshit. I'm really sorry to hear that. Don't use your disk until you find that file.

Quick update regarding the multipool:

We have been listed as a payout option on http://themultipool.com who was referred to us as a good service.  This will allow for individuals to mine other currencies and convert the BTC into Graph.  This upwards pressure on the market should keep things lively on the exchanges.  We will most likely put some hash here within a day or two, but please help us find blocks.

We will have a basic Mac wallet out shortly, and the paper wallet generator is still being worked on.  If we built a faucet, would anyone here help fund it?  If everyone sends 10-25 coins that would probably last months.

The operator of themultipool.com needs to read this faq: https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=faq#faqb3

It's impossible to submit SHA256d hashes from nicehash right now. I think that is the reason.

I was going to put 9 hours of 5 TH/s and get paid in graph then donate the entire sum to the faucet. I'll try a different algo, but the pool operators need to address the pool difficulty issue for SHA256d.

[edit]

Because of the problem above, I'm mining about 24 hours of scrypt at 0.1 GH/s, payable in graph and will donate 100% of that to the faucet.

[edit 2]

I finally got on with SHA256d. We'll see how it goes.

What do you know all buy support gone.

I want to get into this coin but it is following the pattern of a few other coins that have not worked out so well. I am getting sick of trying to catch a falling knife. Roll Eyes

I am trying to send coins to cryptsy as well. We will all get there after the price falls back down.

The latter is your first post ever. You've caught knives on every coin judging from your posts. You either can't pick them, have terrible luck, or love to troll. I can't tell which from your post history. All I know is that they are all sad choices.  Cry

I'll post this again because it seems you guys can't seem to remember what happens with almost all coins with an early dpos

if someone bought early and slowly it would be easy for them to have staked a significant amount of coins and now that the rewards have halved again decide to to sell off all their earned pos rewards... multiple people doing that chasing the btc down... seems to happen on all dpos coins when the rewards half or all the big blocks are done.

if a big staker sells off all their earned pos rewards and keeps what they bought... then they can sell at any price and call it profit, lol this isn't rocket science people.

and GPH has been selling for around 10k since day 1, so those saying they wait till the price drops to the OG price lol it already has. anything under 10k is a steal of a deal

Unless they were in on the flash mine, they wouldn't have been able to sell their dpos interest to cover the principle. The most they could recover is 25-30%. In terms of average price versus dpos rewards, they could sell at 8500 and break even. I don't know what mining costs were, but (1) I don't think they were much better than the average sales price and (2) miners usually sell early. This is long for them to hold because the dpos was not very high.

One thing I will agree with is that people like to get a jump on selling after a high interest period. This time, unless they are some of the lucky few who caught the dump to 7500 or mined very early, they probably lost some money.

Peeps are dumping for viral

They are dumping for a loss here in order to buy a coin that someone is dumping there. Sounds like a good plan.  Cheesy

Working on web wallet for GIZMOcoin. We will have some screens to show in upcoming days. Web wallet release will be approx 20th of May and GIZMOtalk(C) feature end of May.

Bittrex: "This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on May 22nd unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.2 BTC."

213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NINJA][SCRYPT] GraphCoin [ROADMAP][NO ICO/PREMINE] on: May 16, 2015, 08:26:16 PM
Yer good luck with that mate this aint lack of confidence dumping its clear as day manipulation

Because of the roadmap, I've been following this coin since the the mining period. The only people who could dump to 6500 and still make money would be those who were in on the instamine. Anyone in on the instamine would be a dev. It's clear that these devs are good enough that they could simply make little releases and dump their bags on real support. They wouldn't have to be that good for a plan like that to work.

If that wasn't the devs, the dumpers lost money because that's an all time low for this coin on any exchange, even with dpos which could have bumped their holdings by maybe 25% at most. I don't think the devs would be dumb enough to dump themselves out of 10-20 BTC like that, but devs can be pretty dumb about trading, even when they hold the cards. They might have seen the lack of buy support after their paper wallet release and panicked to get out. We'll see if they come back and make more releases. One thing is certain: they will need to produce real tech to get this coin noticed. Paper wallets won't cut it. My guess is that they are not paper wallet devs, but I could be wrong.

Graph distribution on Bittrex is for Bittrex accounts ONLY. It shows the higest holding accounts on the exchange, and it has the lowest supply on exchange I have ever seen. Meaning that almost all coins are staking Smiley
If the guy asking above here reffered to the richlist in block explorer. It can be difficult to know witch one is exchanges. But a clear indicator is if the address receives stake rewards.

Yes. That's the problem. Somehow resolution of https://explorer.graphcoin.co/ works only intermittently for me and usually goes to the web wallet. I did click on the rich list when the explorer popped up once, but I got a 404. It looks like the server is ngix.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NINJA][SCRYPT] GraphCoin [ROADMAP][NO ICO/PREMINE] on: May 15, 2015, 05:35:32 PM
UPDATE:

Real time stats in the wallet are done and we are looking for a release later today. The update has realtime data for exchanges and alot more, so stay tuned! Thanks for all the support..

That looks very nice Dev. Most wallets that have integrated statistics are just webkit front-ends to an online resource that someone else put together. This looks quite professional.

Thanks for fixing the explorer link.

Top 2 wallets in richlist
Exchanges???

Where do you see a richlist? I believe the graph at bittrex is for bittrex accounts only. I could be wrong.

[edit]

It looks like there is a redirect problem with https://explorer.graphcoin.co/ . Sometimes it shows as a block explorer, but most times it shows as the wallet upon refresh. It's probably a server configuration issue dealing with vhosts.

217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NINJA][SCRYPT] GraphCoin [ROADMAP][NO ICO/PREMINE] on: May 15, 2015, 08:47:10 AM
Small update for everyone.  We're just working to get all our May 15th deadlines out, right now just testing the new wallet and doing the paper wallet generator.  We will most likely miss one of the items, the advertisements in wallet, but I don't think anyone will care about that.  We'll do it when we're not so pressed for time, we thought it could be a way to make back some of the money we are putting into this project but it was just causing stress so I think we will drop it for now.

We'll show a few screenshots of our wallet progress and release that very soon.

Thanks for the update Dev.

Why do you have to make an account to get to the block explorer?

That is an unnecessary barrier.

https://explorer.graphcoin.co/

Thats not the block explorer, thats the online wallet

That's the link the OP gives for the block explorer. The OP should have the correct link.

Also, the wallet is called "explorer" in that link. It's confusing even if the OP were correct...which it isn't.
