201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cannacoin (CCN) | PoW->PoSV | No premine | No IPO - [MANDATORY UPDATE!] on: January 12, 2015, 09:25:07 AM
Just a quick update, all of us here at #Cannacoin are busy working on many projects and hope to have some fun things for everyone soon...

I want to do a Cannacoin giveaway with some of my own coins to coincide with the Awesome wallet launch, and hope to figure out the best way to do that soon.

Also want to thank the Solarcoin folks for having a ton of patience while Sub works on their PoSV transition... it's been an extremely busy month for everyone in our personal lives but I assure everyone Cannacoin and the Cannacoin team has some great projects behind the scenes

I am spending less time posting here on Bitcointalk and social media as there's just too much to work on everyday with all the projects.  Also looking forward to using the Awesome wallet for trading Cannacoins for Cannabis here in Oregon soon...  some of us in the community have been using Cannacoin to trade for Cannabis with each other for a while but we don't expect everyone to have the same fortunate circumstances of living in legal Cannabis states.

So happy new year to all of you and I'm looking forward to the future,

Cheers

I wanted to share this alpha screenshot of the Awesome wallet as well:

The webpage demo, http://test.cxc.bid/cxctests/form.html , serves to illustrate price discovery the CXC register performs in its 1st step in the checkout process.  This webpage is fed from a single CXC Register application.
Next week, we will illustrate  the full process of checkout with this same webpage.  We will have a cheap digital product that can be bought will altcoins.

This is a nice example here of a $2500 sale with Blackcoin, and the data generated gives the cash register information where the best place to process such a large transaction is.  In this case, Bittrex would be the best place to process it

Any new developments with New York's regulation?

I just noticed bitcoin is back to $300 a coin, despite the bitstamp exchange hack. Onward to $400 per coin Cheesy

This is good news indeed.

Dude, read man!  They've responded - and to some pretty ignorant questions - and explained everything. There's no hiding, it's very transparent. Do your own DD and put things together, as the rest of us have.
One line in a chat log isn't very forward. I apologize for that one, it's my bad, but it should have been clearly stated then if there was any confusion on the topic.
My point about them deleting posts still stands. The guy asked a question and instead of copying the line that clears it up from the chat log the post was removed. It comes off as fishy, that they're trying to hide something. Deleting his post seems like it's trying to be hidden up. You could argue it was considered spam, but simply address the questions clearly and move on.

I'm making no accusations, I am simply pointing things I find odd.

blakeaholics,

We've addressed the questions repeatedly.  We continue to address legitimate questions.  As for deleting some posts?  They get deleted if they go to the level of trolling.  We are pretty patient with everyone, including Whaler and this "crypto_reports".

Unfortunately, some of these trolls have now taken it too far and are now calling our businesses and leaving disturbing messages, contacting us on IRC with creepy messages regarding our personal lives, and attempting to call everything we do a scam.  If a scam has occurred, I would like to know.  We are monitoring this situation and are ready to contact law enforcement if this continues.

However, the questions regarding the article are simple: Yes CoinJoint has some writers from the CCN team and we publish some content on there occasionally related to CCN.  Usually we pre-face it with a "Disclaimer".  I guess we forgot this time, but given that it is basically just a blog and we take no advertising revenues at the moment and it is privately owned, there's no legal issues related to anything we decide to post.  Has CoinJoint ever been used to attack another coin?  No it has not.

Secondly, these third party projects are in fact third party projects.

People are taking this crypto-drama way too seriously.  Seriously, it's pathetic.  Jameson & DeltaNine & Whaler need to cut this bullshit out and quit taking things posted on BCT so serious.  Crypto is supposed to be fun and right now it's not very much fun.

This message goes to all trouble-makers from CCN or CANN: GO SCREW YOURSELVES.

209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SLR] SolarCoin | PoW to PoS v. 2.0 | Solar Proof of Generation (§1 = 1MWh) on: January 07, 2015, 02:33:35 AM
Thanks Epiphany for your thoughtful post

The CCN team is very aware of the anxiety related to the Solarcoin PoSV wallets.  It does take man hours to make it happen and SubCreative has definitely been working on chipping away at it in these extremely busy times.  It's a larger undertaking than people might think, because it requires a lot of due diligence to make sure everything is correct in the code .  It's not as easy as copy/paste for this transition - otherwise many other coins would have attempted it by now.  I am standing by ready to diffcheck the code and set my Linux box up for testing whenever I get the word from Sub.

In case anyone is concerned or curious, the projects that we have just introduced to our community (TradeManager, fObfuscate) are not SubCreative's projects and they are not impeding progress on the Solarcoin transition.

I can also try to bring in some more developers for testing and helping if you guys are interested, that's why I inquired about if you had any SLR you set aside for development.

I deeply respect the work you guys are doing and I am confident in the relationship. My moment of doubt had everything to do with me in the end, as these things generally do. It's so easy to try and deflect when negative emotions pop up when it is merely a reflection of a belief system we have that may need some tweeking. Wink

Okay cool.

Well, just so you know, I'm now working on the repository with Josh and will keep you guys updated

It looks like that crypto_reports guy didn't actually read the article, since it clearly says that fObfuscate partnered with our team to do some beta testing with the CCN daemon and QT... and find some more applications...

What's up SolarCoin guys.  Happy New Year

I am looking forward to seeing SolarCoin become a really strong cryptocurrency this year.  Thanks for the patience with us.  I have a question for you guys.  Has your community used some of the pre-mined funds for development?  I haven't followed the thread too closely so I'm not sure if you guys have talked about this before.

The Bitcoins and Gravy guy hit @CCNProject up on Twitter after your interview, but I think everyone's pretty busy right now.

So I hope you guys had a Merry Christmas.  I've got some fun ideas in the back of my mind for SolarCoin, but I'll have to share them another time.  Cheers
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / fObfuscate developers team with Cannacoin to beta test platform, develop apps on: January 05, 2015, 11:18:18 PM
The good news keeps rolling in for the Cannacoin community. We now add one more project being developed and beta tested with the CCN team for many different platforms.

Today I met with the developer of fObfuscate here in Portland, Oregon, to discuss new applications, including adding 2FA to the Cannacoin daemon and Cannacoin-QT client, using the fObfuscate service.  We are going to explore every potential application for this hardware token-based authentication technology, starting with Bitcoin.

215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]TradeManager - Advanced Desktop API Trading Software - Altcoins/Bitcoin on: January 05, 2015, 05:27:29 AM
I'm bumping this.  I want to hear the community feedback.  The TradeManager team contacted us to work with us and we decided it was a great opportunity to work together on this project.

Currently, this first version beta is a little buggy and slow but there is a release in the works to fix some of the lagging issues.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=913433

Thanks so much to TradeManager for approaching us and working with us on development and future Cannapay API use.  We look forward to a really interesting future!

TradeManager - Advanced Desktop API Trading Software

Join us on Freenode IRC in #trademanager for support and questions!

Introduction to TradeManager:
TradeManager trading software utilizes the "conditional freeware" model for licensing.

It is going to support ALL of the biggest trading exchanges for use on your desktop. No more having to have multiple tabs open and forget what trades you have open on what exchange, Have your open orders and account balances for all your linked exchanges in one screen!

NO RISK software. This software in its beta stages and doesn't need any commitment from you, or a purchase. The only requirement is that you hold a balance on a exchange that of course could be sold at any time, A lot of people ask about the price as more people buy this coin, this beta is set to run on 1000 Cannacoin (CCN), in the final release it will be tiered off in different Levels for basic to advanced features.. only hold as much coin as the features you need!

If you are interested in crowd-funding this project and getting your TradeManager licence early before the new versions and features roll out we do offer a investor discount for funding this other wise free software.

Profile Manager:
We are proud to include one of the most important distinguishing features in the beta, the Profile Manager and Trade replicator. Do you manage multiple accounts? Or maybe you trade for your dad? Do you trade for your friends? We do. If you find a good trade why waste time going to every account just to post the trade... With the profile Manager you can select everyone's profile to include with the next trade and simply execute one buy or sell and it will be placed for ALL accounts you have selected.

Activation:
We have decided to launch the software utilizing the Cannacoin (CCN) network for product activation.  We chose a network with a 0% premine, long-term PoW distribution, and one that has a very low Proof-of-Stake interest rate.  This is ideal for price stability for the product over the long-term.  We did not want a coin where there is massive invisible holders ready to dump on the market at any moment.

In order to utilize the software, you will be required to hold a certain amount of CCN on exchange at Bittrex, Cryptsy, Poloniex, or other supported exchanges.

1000 CCN = LEVEL 1: Currently the Beta

Requires only 1000 CCN to hold on Bittrex exchange and currently only supports Bittrex for trading

Development
We will be developing a trademan.cc website and utilizing the Cannapay back-end for product activation in the future that will allow users to activate the software directly with BTC and not require holding coins on exchange.  This will be priced in parity with the CCN value at the time we release that.  So, in the future there will be two ways to activate the software.  Direct activation through trademan.cc or exchange-based-activation using CCN.

More exchanges and features to be added in next release. We plan on supporting all the top cryptocurrency exchanges including Bittrex, Cryptsy, Poloniex, Coin-Swap, C-Cex, CexIO, and potentially others at the communities request.

Features to roll out after beta include automation for buying and selling, Arbitrage between exchanges, Themes and a pre-planned feature rollout for each update.

There is a Triage of new releases planned! Once we are out of beta there will be FOUR levels of activation based on the complexity of the trading features you have a desire to use Once this project is finalized we we be developing a mobile version that is tablet and phone friendly.

LVL1
LVL2
LVL3
LVL4

There will also be an ALL Access Pass for future programs and features including mobile and web trader

216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cannacoin (CCN) | PoW->PoSV | No premine | No IPO - [MANDATORY UPDATE!] on: January 02, 2015, 07:13:19 PM

Thanks for the reply.

I had another question, is there a predetermined value/equivalency you intend for CCN? Say 1 gram/coin?

If you go back and read through my analysis of cryptocurrency regulation being developed right now in NY and D.C., you'll see that price-pegging in cryptocurrencies is likely going to be illegal for businesses that don't meet strict financial regulations and acquire Bit-Licenses.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=740903.msg9978657#msg9978657

The issue with price-pegging is that you are essentially marketing a currency as an asset-backed security when in fact it is not backed by any assets at all.  We are seeing how GAWminers is not able to back their XPY with $20 as they claimed they would, because they don't have the assets to do it.  They will likely face some serious consequences for operating what in retrospect was a type of Ponzi-scheme.

The major issue with price-pegging in the Cannabis industry is that you have many different grades of product that can weigh 1 Gram.  From the perspective of growers and manufacturers of products, this doesn't make sense whatsoever.

If someone wants to grow some Cannabis and essentially give it away to promote their cryptocurrency, that's their choice, but this doesn't make sense from the perspective of serious businesses because it is not a sustainable model.  There is nobody there to guarantee a buyer at those prices, and there is no guarantee that you will ever redeem your 1 Coin for 1 gram of Cannabis.

It is one thing to do a promotion on occasion to bring more people to your store and it is another thing to back your currency 100%.  If you don't back the value that you are claiming it has, then it simply isn't a price peg.

So a bunch of cryptocurrency traders in Europe, China, Russia, U.S. go buy your currency for 1 cent... then you give away a bunch of product and increase the value of your cryptocurrency on the hype... and then they sell on the price pump and you've made those cryptocurrency traders some money.  But how is that a sustainable model?

It would only be sustainable if you were issuing those coins directly for a realistic price, and for each coin that exists in the market, there is a corresponding product there to back its' value.  At that point, you have a centrally controlled cryptocurrency, which defeats the purpose of even creating a decentralized cryptocurrency in the first place.

I think Cannacoin is a pretty solid name, it flows well and it's catchy. I know what you mean about the confusion thou. But it seems to get sorted out pretty quickly for new community members coming to the scene.

Hope everyone is having a good new years. 2015 will be an interesting one, time to bust out back to the future II Cheesy

Thanks 8-bit and Happy New Year to you!
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cannacoin (CCN) | PoW->PoSV | No premine | No IPO - [MANDATORY UPDATE!] on: January 01, 2015, 08:01:23 PM

My only personal complaint on the cannacoin/cannabiscoin situation is that the names are way too similar and it just ends up being confusing for users.

I guess the better coin will win in the end, otherwise my investments in both will just mean more smoking material.

The reality is that blockchains are much more than just coins.  They are networks and must be sustained and developed over time through code.  These networks do not just die or win over another.  They are a sort of digital living entity...   We expect to continue modernizing the Cannacoin network for a long time to come to provide much more than just single application cryptocurrency.

I'm sure everyone wishes there was a simple way to solve this brand confusion -- and we have approached other communities with the intention to fix this but did not get any assistance... in fact, we've never met the core code developers from either Potcoin or CannabisCoin.

Maybe some day they will decide it is better to work together than to go it alone.  But we will not wait for them and will continue to develop platforms and work with other developers in the cryptocurrency space to explore innovative blockchain applications.

Everyday, we are building new relationships throughout the cryptocurrency development sphere and there is steady progress behind the scenes in applying these networks in the Cannabis industry.

Of course, we are also constantly analyzing regulatory compliance developments in both the cryptocurrency and Cannabis industry here in the United States, and our partners and investors are well aware of this!

Great job with the android wallet.  Keep up the good work.  I think Blackcoin is going to do very well again soon in the markets.  It's a great network and you guys will be developing applications for it for a long time to come, no doubt.

That's great news!  Glad we could help you get this sorted out.  Cheers

Actually, one last question. With the new wallet, and my old one imported, I don't see my old address listed. I see the transactions from that address but it's not listed under my owned addresses.
Will I still receive coins sent to that old wallet address?

You should still receive coins to those addresses.

If you go into help --> debug window --> console --> type 'listaccounts' or 'listaddressgroupings'

I'm not exactly sure how the wallet rebuild process works but that should verify if those addresses are still used in your wallet.  If they don't show up, I would assume not to use them.

Much appreciated.

Great, glad you got everything sorted out finally Smiley
