In my experience most IPO's for altcoins end badly - are people supposed to just deposit coino to your address and magically get credit?

Step 1: Promote regularly for 3 weeks and then disappear.
Step 2: Decide to update the wallet and then ask the community to do half the work for you.
Step 3: Botch the rollout of the wallet, creating a fork of carelessness
Step 4: Yell at the community for being ungrateful
Step 5: Hide when the going gets tough
Step 6: Pop up for one post to bash people for not practicing blind faith

I am very surprised that no one here has bought votes at https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes I read a lot of complaining in this thread about the price going down from lack of interest. Don't you know it needs to hit bigger exchanges to generate more interest? That's not the only thing of course and yes, people are helping promoting this coin in other ways for sure. But it NEEDS to hit Cryptsy at least. I have personally bought the last 100 votes and was planning on buying more, but I see that no one here in this community is willing to chip in. Very disappointing. If 100 of us all bought a measly 0.02 btc worth of votes (like I have already done), we would add 10,000 votes to cryptsy and be at 6th place already. Last time they added 4 coins so just think about it, we would almost be added at that point. But like 95% of you aren't taking any action and instead sitting back, complaining, and doing nothing but watching this coin die. That's sad, so please I beg you do a little work and give up a little. Bribe Cryptsy and all other exchanges, tell your friends about Coino, stop posting anything negative, and stop selling off your coin for cheap. Please! Thanks... ------ It is funny to see the reaction of some people here. 3 days no news and some of you going crazy. What do you want to hear? We stick to our plan on the roadmap. Coino has the most dedicated community in the alt currency world. The dev should show them some love, otherwise he is a complete loser.

About missing payouts:
It seems like a few pools (still?) haven't updated their wallets, which means they "pay" you, but you will never get the coins in your own new wallet. Those are lost, as the pool have already put transfers into blocks which are either on a fork or orphaned. This is very dangerous as it has completely dried out some pools of coins, which basically means one thing - everything that happened since KGW is lost. Coins transferred, and coins mined.
This also happened to dedicatedpool, who noticed in time, and at that time had paid 14.000 Coino, which are now lost. Luckly the admin still had lots of spare coins in the pool wallet, so he re-payed everyone, so noone lost any coins.
I don't mine Coino there myself, but big props to binaryclock (dedicatedpool admin) for this!

Yes, it has been down for ages.
Are we being scammed? Likely not.
I fully understand everyone who has/had any crypto in there is really worried, especially since there has been far too little communication from coinmarket.
So now you likely want to know why I think coinmarket is not scamming, so let my sum it up:
- Coinmarket rarely, but daily comes up online for just a few minutes - why wouldn't scammers just leave it down?
- There are several reports of people withdrawing their crypto there. I myself withdrew my Coino holding from there yesterday, with no issues at all. Why would scammers let the users withdraw their cryptos?
- Some - possible real, but also possible fake - information was revealed about the coinmarket admin. Either the guy is fairly good framed, or it really is the admin. After looking around, my personal opinion is that it is high likely that it really is him, and in that case, it seems like he is a nice and well respected guy, with great skills in the computer world. This also matches with some of my earlier conversations with him on irc, back when coinmarket was still fully functional.
Then, why the hell did I withdraw my money, if I don't think coinmarket is scamming?
Just as you, I am nervous. Crypto is all about taking risk, and even though I knew my coins could get stuck when I attemped to withdraw them, I still did it. There was a risk of loosing them - so was there, if I didn't withdraw.
I first did a test transfer which was successful, and then proceeded with the rest of my holding. Few seconds after, the site went down again.
In case you want to try and get your crypto out, you should also test it, for several reasons:
- The wallet could be outdated --> your coins will be lost!
- The wallet could be offline --> withdrawal won't work, likely just a very small risk of loosing the coins
- There could be other bugs, so always test if you are unsure!
- I know that coinmarket is programmed in an always "expect this and this" state. If something unexpected occurs, the site goes offline until the admin manually restarts it. This is for security means - if anyone tried to exploit something, the site will (or really, should) go down, so the admin can inspect what was going on. This also means if something in the wallet is bugged, and you do a transfer, you could really crash the server yourself, with your own transaction, and maybe loose your coins. This is especially risk now, as they are patching coin daemons to prevent the same thing which happened to poloniex.

So I was just looking at www.coinwarz.com and I noticed it's price for www.poloniex.com was 0.00001184 But, if you look at poloniex the highest buy is currently 0.00001300 - so I was wondering how they got 0.00001184 for valuation. Then I averaged all the buy orders on the board, weighted by BTC size of the order, and figured out that coino is listed lower than top bid because coinwarz averages all the buy orders to calculate the value. SO the order for coino at 0.00000001 for 0.14861987 BTC is there to manipulate the coinwarz value and keep coino down and out of the top 5. Whoever put the bid there is doing it only for this purpose. So if you want to see coino higher up on coinwarz simply place a large buy order just under the 2 BTC order at 0.00001150 |

I think Cryptsy would be good for us (any high volume exchange would) but I don't like Cryptsy as an entity. I agree with you Bofhus. It will be gone, or they must change. There are hundreds of thousands of them. The premine of 2.2 million was generated in Block 1. But by block 300 it started to move. The entire amount moves to an address, then sends to two addresses. One gets 200 Coino, the other gets the balance. Then repeat. Sometimes there are two moves encoded in the same block. A few of the addresses that got 200 Coino have significant movement in and out. But most are just sitting holding 200 Coino. The same process left 5 coino in a bunch of addresses. You can pick it up mid-transfer on this address: UQqmBRs76BPmZPHScvQwyBiFrr9jUkdDqQ From there its basically a long long looong loop of movements. I'm not sure what the point of leaving so few Coino in so many addresses was, but I'm sure there was a reason behind it! I once followed the coins all the way to an account that had about 1.9 million in it - after starting at 2.2 million. It took a long time to get there(a couple hundred transactions) but they were mostly intact. KSW is about 1.5 days away. Buy now while the coino is still relatively cheap. |

Or in this case a 99% attack? lol http://liteshack.com/OceanWhispers - the 170 Ghs came from every multipool and pretty much everyone and their brother running to AuroraCoin as it showed up on cryptsy and coinwarz in a short period of time the drop off happened when the difficulty went from under 100 to over 2000 in the course of an hour.... It was like pigs running to a feeding trough.... Now, if coino has a moment like this - we're all going to get paid, but it would also mean the end of us mining coino without any competition. I guess it's a great reason to mine coino now while we can. |

Whenever Poolers Isn't around I think something big has happened  Nothing big happened. Stayed up real late to launch the zeit pool but there were a couple pools that were up before source was released so everyone that was lined up to mine with us jumped ship in the first 15 minutes. It was a total fail so I went to bed. Those big launches are pure chaos. We had a large number of pre-registrations and some of them had some huge hashing power but there is just no way to compete with an official pool that is ready before launch and starts out with over 5 GH. I always say I wont get in on coins where the devs have the their own pool but I did it with Maxcoin and again with zeit. Never again...for real this time. I guess it comes with the territory when you run a pool. Still, you are making 1.5% of all mining in the pool - that's got to be nice. |
