201  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think BiPolarBob is crazy ?? *share your deals you did with him before* on: August 11, 2014, 07:57:49 PM
no I fully understand. they would have to remove the digital goods section b/c cash isn't a digital good. but a cash sending service can't involve carding, so everyone stays safe. it is smart Smiley I just ask you keep us updated on this

So just so everyone reading understands:

You buy these gift cards at full price for cash and give them away for less, but you won't give people the cash directly instead?
202  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think BiPolarBob is crazy ?? *share your deals you did with him before* on: August 11, 2014, 07:47:40 PM
^ it is an interesting idea, is there a site suggestion spot for you to request such a rule? If someone is selling products at discount, they must instead offer a cash sending service. please keep us updated on this because it is an original type of rule. Smiley

Oh no you're misunderstanding.

You say you are buying these gift cards for cash.

Why do that when you could mail the money directly instead? Is it because you're buying them grey-market or because you're not actually buying them for cash?

If your not buying them direct from the merchant they could be carded by whoever you're buying them off.

If your not buying them with cash they could be carded by you.

There have been way to many people around here selling carded gift cards, so sorry for being so suspicious. I just don't want to see thousands of frozen steam accounts etc in a few months time. Trolls often give away carded codes for free online.
203  Other / Meta / Congratulations BadBear on: August 11, 2014, 05:52:48 PM
When did BadBear become an administrator? I only just noticed:

Congratulations!

Does that mean we can now spam the crap out of your inbox as well with requests to recover/unban accounts and stuff?

inb4 shitstorm.
204  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think BiPolarBob is crazy ?? *share your deals you did with him before* on: August 11, 2014, 05:30:38 PM
^ I disagree. nothing is carded. All cash purchased.

Why don't you just mail people cash then for BTC? Why get gift cards at all if your paying for them with cash? I'm sure people would like cash better than gift cards.
205  Other / Meta / Re: How does feedback work exactly? on: August 11, 2014, 05:00:16 PM
People who use the DefaultTrust list aren't using the trust system correctly.

You need to go here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust

And remove "DefaultTrust" and enter a list of users whos opinion you trust. Enter people whom you think won't leave others fake feedback, not necessarily people who won't scam. If you don't do this you will see "fake" feedback.

Those who say the trust system is flawed are wrong, its just not user friendly enough. More people need to remove "DefaultTrust" for it to work correctly. Due to the way the system works people updating their lists will eventually "fix" the DefaultTrust list by putting users who leave honest feedback in it, for it adjusts automatically.
206  Economy / Lending / Re: Am about to go homeless, could use some help on: August 11, 2014, 04:40:49 PM
Do I plan on abstaining from them in an attempt to unlock my brains capacity without substances?  Yes.

Don't plan, take action and do it now. Sobriety is as much of a trip and as inspiring as LSD. There is a limit to what you can get from psychedelics, sobriety is limitless.

But cutting ties is just as important. Your "acquaintances" won't let you enjoy sobriety that easy but you probably already know this, they will try and persuade you to go back. It's difficult but at some point you need to move on, someday they will do the same.
207  Economy / Lending / Re: Am about to go homeless, could use some help on: August 11, 2014, 03:59:07 PM
Nicely written post, however the problem with this is that you're trying to use reason on Dank. He is far beyond reasoning, and his mind has long been separated from reality.

At least he read what I had to say. Thats the best I could've hoped for. Maybe one day it will help him.

PS. for the record, while I have tried them a LONG time ago, I do not drink/smoke or do drugs. The reason I don't is because I don't need them and it feels really good being sober, probably better than being drunk/high. You should all try being sober, it's not boring despite what you might think.
208  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cheapest Bitcoin Friendly Colocation in the UK!!! on: August 11, 2014, 03:19:01 PM
Quite interesting. Seems very reasonably priced, but I didn't see any bandwidth info/pricing for colo servers on your website. Maybe you should add it.
209  Other / Off-topic / Re: BREAKING: the CIA was a Bitcoin plot! The NSA was created by Bitcoin! on: August 11, 2014, 02:55:55 PM
I agree this should be in the off topic section. However with that being said it is very comical for people to actually believe that BTC was created by any government agency. They would have absolutely no use for it.

It is very comical how many people didn't read the title carefully enough.
210  Other / Off-topic / Re: BREAKING: the CIA was a Bitcoin plot! The NSA was created by Bitcoin! on: August 11, 2014, 02:44:47 PM
Really? What's the point? There's already at least 5 on this already, not to mention it's just promoting that fud spreader even more.

No no no... reread the title CAREFULLY. Cheesy
211  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are BoA transfers reversible? on: August 10, 2014, 11:33:57 PM
Unless the other person deposits cash into your account then it is possible to reverse the transaction. This is true for all banking transactions. Period.

If you spend some time reading comments above, you should know CASH deposit is reversible for BoA.
No they are not. The person who posted that is likely spreading FUD. The only real possibility to do this is to convince the teller to give the account "intimidate" availability for a check deposit so it would look like a cash deposit on online banking, but it would really not be a cash deposit.

I once read a story on the LBC forums where the seller alleged the buyer and bank teller knew each other (they were from a small town) and colluded together to reverse the cash deposit. I have no way of knowing if that is true but I am sure something like that could very easily happen.
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: i lost my wallet blockchain (Reward 1 BTC) on: August 10, 2014, 11:27:15 PM
You must remember SOMETHING about the password. The length, or some part of it.

ANYTHING you can remember at all will help you.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: i lost my wallet blockchain (Reward 1 BTC) on: August 10, 2014, 11:21:30 PM
I have no idea of the password and must be about 2 months
2factor autorization no

Do you have the login url?

It looks like this:

https://blockchain.info/wallet/1546-sfsd4-67fgfd-3ffd

Check your email account for emails from blockchain.info, it might have it.
214  Other / Off-topic / Re: The BiPolarBob Conspiracy Theories (Just for Laughs n' Giggles) on: August 10, 2014, 10:05:31 PM
The codes might be carded (purchased with stolen credit cards). It wouldn't be the first time someone gave away carded gift cards/codes for free/cheap.
215  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling on LocalBitCoins? Watch out.. on: August 10, 2014, 09:48:15 PM
There is a lot of paranoia in this thread. It isn't as bad as people are making it out to be. Face-to-face transactions are safe and easy. Online selling is risky because of chargebacks and fraud. Even cash bank deposits can be reversed.

Just stick to small amounts and stay away from people talking about criminal activity, and you have nothing to worry about.

This.

Just keep to small amounts and be professional and do everything as smooth and quickly as possible. Check out your buyer before meeting them (past feedback etc), check all the notes you receive, do the trades in a safe place, use the escrow service and if the buyer mentions anything illegal DO NOT trade with them ever again. Keep it strictly business. So long as you're not trading excessively large amounts you will be very safe doing this.
216  Other / Meta / Re: Can I report this FUD ? on: August 10, 2014, 09:40:25 PM
Yes if its an alt of Sol Adoni report him and write "Sol Adoni" in the report comment. He will be banned/nuked, thats what BadBear told me to do.
217  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling on LocalBitCoins? Watch out.. on: August 10, 2014, 06:54:26 PM
That is not true. You need to follow AML regulations when selling BTC for cash. In a nutshell these include verifying the identity of the person you are dealing with and reporting any transaction over a certain threshold.

Since many/most traders are likely unaware of AML regulations, LE (undercover) will often say they are using the BTC illegally to give the trader a reason to look into the regulations and rules regarding AML.

Thats not what the Florida indictment states. AML is a completely different issue.

Charlie Shrem the owner of BitInstant a Bitcoin exchange that was (almost) fully compliant with AML was arrested for knowingly selling Bitcoins to someone who he knew sold them to people who used them for illegal activity and failing to report this:

http://time.com/1892/bitinstant-ceo-charlie-shrem-arrested-for-alleged-money-laundering/

If someone tells you that they are buying your Bitcoins to spend on cocaine, asking to see their ID won't cover you.
218  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling on LocalBitCoins? Watch out.. on: August 10, 2014, 06:33:11 PM
Also: Where is it illegal to sell Bitcoin in the US? I had no idea it was...

It is illegal to knowingly sell bitcoins to someone who has admitted they will be used for criminal activity. That covers all of the US.
219  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Can't open anymore Electrum wallet. on: August 10, 2014, 03:07:29 PM
Do you get an error message or anything?

Try backing up your wallet file and reinstall Electrum.
220  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think BiPolarBob is crazy ?? *share your deals you did with him before* on: August 10, 2014, 02:59:25 PM
Perhaps he just likes giving away carded gift cards. He wouldn't be the first person to do that.
