201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re:[ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous: DASH deleted posts you would like to keep on: July 09, 2015, 01:11:25 AM

standing by for deletion...of course

Any last requests ?

The cessation of mindless censorship of all these important conversations about the financial problems unravelling around the world (i.e. Greece, China, etc) as it's fundamentally important to this "[ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin |  Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX" thread and this thread's integrity/unmolested certainty.

202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re:[ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous: DASH deleted posts you would like to keep on: July 09, 2015, 12:31:29 AM

I created a thread for all the deleted posts people think are relevant and should not have been deleted, especially if they spent a lot of time writing up their posts.

Nice one !   <-- deletion candidate

I will leave it to everyone to figure out a way to link to their deleted posts in order to maintain some context to a discussion.

Some posts that I got deleted, I thought were relevant in the context of economic events being an opportunity to have a discussion with people that are looking for solutions to real world cash shortage problems.

Necessity is the mother of all invention. And a cash crisis is a great free advert for crypto at a point in time when people will give you the time of day and not just laugh at you because everything is running smoothly in fiat land.

How many times have we heard people say things like - 'but why would I use Bitcoin when cash and credit cards work just fine?' Well quite evidently, they don't work fine. Plan B. Gotta have a Plan B against the man taking your cash and credit cards.

Thanks for creating that thread coins101.

It is simply beyond my comprehension that here we are, all involved in the development of decentralised technology & financial tools that are a revolution and history in the making, yet we're subject to North Korean style centralised command & conquer censorship.

Mod, has it not occurred to you just how COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY IRONIC AND MINDLESSLY CLICHÉD BEYOND EVEN THE MOST INANE AND BANAL LACK OF COMPREHENSION THIS RIDICULOUS CENTRALISED CENSORSHIP IS WITHIN THIS CONTEXT OF CRYPTO?

Dash is a revolutionary tool for financial freedom and the breaking of shackles of tyrannical governments and oligarchical repression everywhere.

Dash allows people to take part in an all new economy that will be free of the gross and wholesale manipulation and constantly shifting goal posts that characterises everything we're now seeing unravelling.

Dash, the people here that discuss Dash and how it's relating to what's happening in the EU, China and with other key markets around the world, is of fundamental importance to this community and consequently IT'S OF FUNDAMENTAL IMPORTANCE TO BITCOINTALK.ORG FOR BITCOINTALK.ORG TO BE SUPPORTED AS A SERIOUS PLATFORM FACILITATING OPEN UNCENSORED DISCUSSION.

I am EXTREMELY frustrated by this TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY attempt to stifle conversation and (as I've pointed out) it's simply so far outside the heart and soul of what crypto stands for, it can't be seen for anything other than what it is; puerile, non-thinking mindlessness of the highest (lowest) order.

(standing by for deletion...of course. Pathetic)

It looks like C-Cex finally have their BTX wallet online and out of "maintenance" so people should be able to deposit & withdraw again.

Why I cannot see Dash chart at bitcoinwisdom and cryptrader?
I want to make some analysis but I can't.
Something wrong with cryptsy api?

https://cryptrader.com/charts/cryptsy/dash/btc
https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/cryptsy/drkbtc

This is annoying.

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/cryptsy/drkbtc : only approachable by USA servers, if you happen to have VPN software that lets you connect to USA servers you can connect properly to that site.

Not entirely true qwizzie

I'm in Australia and not going through any VPN. Haven't ever had trouble picking up the Cryptsy feed from Bitcoinwisdom (but I know many others haven't been able to get it ever since the link disappeared from the front page).

There's quite a series of complimentary comments after it with people saying someone needs to get Gavin the other Bitcoin "scientists" to understand what the blockchain really is and why it's never going to be the place that stores every single little transaction and provides all of these ancillary functions other interfacing blockchains, cryptos and service providers will facilitate.

The person that wrote that post understands the difference between money and currency. That money is a sustainable store of value and currency is a temporary medium of exchange.

All these terms are of course relative, but I totally identify with the idea that we won't necessarily be paying for cups of coffee in bitcoin since bitcoin is trying to be more like gold than dollars.

Yes, it's one of those defining concepts I've really started to comprehend from the many posts you've made on the subject. It's also interesting how there are people in crypto that just have absolutely no comprehension of it (the buffoons over at monero for instance).

I think we're going to see a whole suite of interfacing crypto service providers that will perform functions and provide effective lag/delay and hedging/buffering types of services as unimaginable in scope as Facebook and Twitter were in the mid 90s when we first started seeing the initial ecommerce websites.

Great post by that person I say !

Yeah I thought you might.

I've published an article in Spanish about the lack of privacy of Bitcoin and how Dash solves the problem:

http://sobrebitcoin.com/asi-la-solucion-dash-la-falta-privacidad-bitcoin/

Thanks Raptor73 for the render!

I just read it using Google Translator (so it's correspondingly cheese-grated  Cheesy) but I can see the layout's great and you're addressing the key issues with bitcoin trust-based mixers and other alts that have hidden blockchains. Great!

Hey Tok,

Just pulled this post from over in the "Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion" thread which I keep tabs on but don't post in. Someone made a facetious joke (in the very small text) about Bitcoin still being okay even though it only handles 3 transaction per second and then this maybe-luminous/maybe-ignoble post appeared.

Anybody worried about this yet?

Thanks flat earth 1MB maxblocksize aficionados!

Nah...

A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System*

*A limit of less than three transactions per second occurring on planet earth may apply.

Bitcoin is not here to compete with visa. It's not here to make banking better, it's not about buying coffee or micro payments or any of that crap. It's not about mass adoption.

 It's about monetary freedom.

If three transactions per second is not enough, then there will grow an ecosystem of alt coins to pick up the slack. We will see exchanges grow that allow for easy transfer of value from one coin to the next and through this multi-coin environment, we can scale without limit.

There is no solution for one chain to hold all the transactions. Any proposal that suggests compromising the security, integrity, or distributed nature of bitcoin in order to gain some kind of imaginary "adoption" is an attack and should be treated as such.

What say you?

Bid price is over ask price, obviously that somebody is manipulating the price to get cheap coins.

What does that mean exactly? Maybe I'm misunderstanding you but as soon as you place a bid onto an exchange that's higher than the asking price, your bid gets filled with whatever supply of coins is currently sitting in the ask list at a price below or equal to your bid. What's not filled in that instant then becomes the new highest bid negating any lower ask. So a bid price can't be over the asking price (unless you're taking about the minor variations between exchanges).

Dash is gettin crushed out there!

Anyone ready to take my deal yet?

20 BTC - 2k DASH
Because you are sympatic to me I'll give you 3k, maybe more, for this price.

What does "sympatic" mean? I've heard of sympatico (http://www.yourdictionary.com/sympatico) and, of course, sympathetic, but sympatic is a new word I've never seen before.

Yes. Sorry, my ambiguity, just checked login page. Whatever you type into the field "username" after you click on the Login button

I'd feel better if I PMd it.  I'd hate to have 300 attempts on my account giving them a reason to keep it locked.

Yeah good thinking. I'm in Cryptsy now so PM me your account name and I'll log a ticket  asking for someone to look at your situation.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: July 07, 2015, 03:39:35 AM
I'm not sure if anyone has any suggestions, but I appear to be in a pickle....I think.

I moved 350 dash to my account on Cryptsy to take advantage of the spike a week or so ago.  Did some trading and had a mix of BTC and DASH.  I'm off doing something else and I get an email saying there was a failed login attempt on my account.  I thought that was odd, but I was not worried in the least because I use 2fa.  I logged in and checked my account, all was well.  I decided to forward that email to support@cryptsy.com showing that there was an attempt just in case it was widespread. I was trying to help out by alerting them.  I didn't give it another thought through the rest of the night.

Woke up the next morning to find my account locked.  I'm thinking ok, this must be a mistake so I write support and explain that I got that email, I sent it in to them and that everything was fine with the account, plus I use 2fa....so I'm not worried and would they please unlock my account.

Later that day, still no reply to my "locked" account ticket.  So I wrote again.  No reply.  I wrote again and they responded with a canned reply that they have escalated this matter to a tech and appreciate my patience.  Ok I thought, what "matter" and why is it so hard to unlock my account?

I never received another response on that ticket.  I've started to open new tickets by emailing support with different subject lines and they respond back that there is already another ticket open, "thanks for your patience".

Here's the kicker.... I CAN trade using my Android app.  I've made some DASH trading that way during the last week, but I would love for a way to get my (now) 375 DASH off of their exchange.  Without any responses and the fact that I'm being ignored, I feel like a total victim.  That's $1,100+ of mine they are keeping from me.

I don't know what to do, it's been a week and I still don't even know why I can't get on to my account.

Their telephone system just hangs up on you when you call it.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do?

What's your Cryptsy user ID jetstah? (perhaps "jetstah"?)

If several of us open tickets and put the link to your posting posting with a "Hey, we from the Dash community ask that you help get this resolved for our fellow Dashian ASAP" maybe it will help.

Is the user id and the name you log in with the same?

Yes. Sorry, my ambiguity, just checked login page. Whatever you type into the field "username" after you click on the Login button

Some interesting observations in this Coindesk article about the recent Bitcoin forking issues with the BIP66 OpenSSL signature validation alteration. This guy (Fabio Federici from Coinalytics) is in essence suggesting there's too many people using the SPV (Simplified Payment Verification) clients and not enough full nodes being run. It's highlighting just how stuck Bitcoin is on this issue of there being no incentive to run a full Bitcoin node

Quote
"The key takeaway is the distribution of full nodes versus SPV nodes. Everyone should run a full node, and maybe it doesn't make sense economically or there are other benefits of an SPV client, but that comes with the risk,"

Anyway, when someone asks why a market is going up, a safe answer is always "There are more buyers than sellers"

and markets rallied on the news the sun came up in the east....

looks like someone dropped something on bitfinex : https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitfinex/drkbtc

Holy yo-yoing candles Batman!

What an uninteligent dump hyh... pitty I moved my buy order higher yesterday....

It might be "unintelligent" at face value but if someone's decided they want to exit rapidly they might have studied the buy orders and decided it was sufficiently thick to exit two masternode's worth without losing too much in the process. So, in fact it might have been the best exit strategy for the given moment/circumstances considering how the price has built up a little over the past 24 hours. (i.e. horses for courses, there are hundreds of valid reasons why someone might decide to exit and many differing ways of doing it).
Well that person could do same @ much better price @ Cryptsy alone, not to mention splitting funds?

Yep, they could've done a portion on Finex, some on Cryptsy, some on Bittrex, etc. But I think sometimes people just decide "I'm all done here" and press the eject button quickly before they think about it too much and change their mind!

The fickle nature of crypto is....well....fickle.

you can only have one MN per wallet as far as I know.

Mmm...likely true. But I have two wallets running.

Question then is can you have two wallets running on two distinct masternode keys but on the same machine (hence same IP address)?

You can manage both MN from one wallet, make sure each MN has a different port.
Are you running both wallets on the same computer?

Well yes, when I said "But I have two wallets running" obviously I wasn't talking about two separate computers.

I've since given up on that though and wound it back to a single wallet in an attempt to get it working properly. I can't get any further at this stage. Wallet reports masternode started properly but it just sits there and no payments are received even after it's been running more than an hour.

I'm giving it away for the moment and going back to regular PoS staking until a proper guide is produced as I'm just wasting a whole lot of time thrashing about in the dark and it's a bit silly.
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BTX] Bitcoin - The neXt generation /MASTERNODES ACHIEVED ! on: July 04, 2015, 02:23:59 AM
Mmm....after all that I'm clearly doing something very wrong as, although my masternodes are reported as "started" and don't get any further error messages, they aren't being paid.

Just had a look at this person's node (from the current six on the list) and they're being paid every few minutes:

http://blox.btx.rocks/address/FT5ByPppXgiAHGj1vv1XnQL2N75Vireft9

Come on guys...I've really tried here to be independent and get this working but without a guide and any help I'm struggling. I've gone back through the instructions in the icash thread several times but I'm missing something fundamental and experiencing some ambiguity.

I don't understand how the icash instructions we've been directed to relate to the "My BitcoinTX Masternode Nodes" tab. I'm guessing that following the instructions and performing the masternode genkey and getaccountaddress 0 functions are the equivalent of what would be achieved in the interface? Yes, no? But should I be seeing an entry in here?

Confusion is reigning. It shouldn't be so difficult to get this working.

AltTrader I sent a Slack request through about six hours ago now. Can you please reply. Thanks
