201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 08, 2024, 10:31:53 AM
Dortmund's opponent in the last 16 of the Champions League is the leader of the Dutch Eredivisie, which Dortmund basically cannot underestimate. Because PSV is a team that has amazing strength in its local league, Dortmund needs to play well enough and not make too many mistakes. Because in this round of 16, all teams will try better in order to qualify for the more challenging round, namely the last eight, so Dortmund needs to perform as well as possible to win at PSV's home ground.
I don’t see PSV as a strong opponent compared to Dortmund. I think PSV should be worried about Dortmund. PSV struggled to qualify from their group, they have not had a good run competing in the champions league this season which makes me doubt they will be able to progress pass Dortmund in the knockout stage.
202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 08, 2024, 09:23:14 AM
This season is a tough one, we can see already more than three teams competing closely for the title. Kelvin De Bruyne’s return is definitely a huge boost for Manchester City who haven’t been at their very best level since his injury. With or without KDB, Manchester City were going to win over Huddersfield anyway so bringing KDB on was just to increase the torture and dominance.
203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 08, 2024, 08:34:14 AM
I think Kelvin De Bruyne has been missed so much in the team. His absence had a huge impact on the team’s performance. The statistics of games won and lost in his absence just shows how important he is in the team. Sits no surprise that Pep Guardiola brought him into the pitch in yesterday’s game against Huddersfield. I think KDB hasn’t lost his fitness level and did well in the game.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 08, 2024, 07:58:26 AM
Liverpool are doing so well this season, it’s no surprise that they are currently leading in the league table. Like many others, I also expected a strong game similar to the last encounter but seeing the line up I knew it would be one of those games Arsenal will struggle to get goals and that is exactly what it was. Congratulations to Klopp and his team as they progress to the next rounds.
205  Economy / Lending / Re: [Question]Would someone give me a loan? on: January 07, 2024, 10:57:21 PM
You can get a non collateral loan if you have a strong reputation, a good trade history or a high rank account. Although bitcointalk accounts are no longer used as collateral, someone may likely give a small loan to a high rank account knowing the owner of the account would not want to risk the reputation damage to his account if he deagyalts the loan. Unfortunately for you OP, you have neither one of these. Your reputation is in question as regards to the feedback you have. You are a junior member rank with no good reputation, because of that nobody in the lending business will want to take a risk on you.

I’m not sure if this topic should be in Economics board or Politics & Society. But I’m sure that this topic belongs to the Nigerian local board. Most if your topics are centered on Nigeria. It’s time you visit the local board and share your thoughts there.
207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 06, 2024, 09:41:02 PM
I will be rooting for Manchester United to get a win against Spurs in their next meeting but I cannot place my bets on that game because I know Manchester United are not reliable and consistent even when they play against a less stronger team. Getting a win against Spurs will mean Manchester United will have to be at one of their best performance levels on that day. The only safe bet is a draw in that game with both teams scoring a goal.
208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 06, 2024, 09:31:38 PM
Juventus are looking improved and better than they were last season. Massimiliano Allegri is certainly doing a good job reviving this Juventus side who were unable to finish in first or second position at the end of last season. Tomorrow they will have to play Sporting Salernitana at home, I am predicting a win for Juventus, a comfortable win for the old ladies.
209  Economy / Economics / Re: Corruption in Nigeria as a Problem of Economic Growth and Development on: January 06, 2024, 09:08:47 PM
So far all the suggestions have failed and obviously, there will not be changes until, the Chinese communist system of administration is adopted.

A public or political leader must not acquire certain properties and nut not be richer than a certain net worth, with a stipulation of death penalty ( death by hanging). This will certainly stop the excessive looting and siphoning of public funds.

What do you think?
No one has said anything concerning this part of OP’s post, which I think is the point of the thread. So far, all I can see is fighting over which country has more corruption. I understand that this is a sensitive topic and many may find the topic offensive, in my opinion anyone who considers himself a patriot would be offended by it.

I don’t think OP is very knowledgeable about how society and government operate. A communist government is not a system that favours the average person. Communism is a system where everything is owned and controlled by the state. I find it ironic that a bitcoiner could be pro-communism.
210  Economy / Economics / Re: Sometimes tips the securities at the mall or local shops on: January 06, 2024, 08:33:03 PM
Tipping security personnel is not just a considerate act, but also a wise choice. Consider this: these guards are preventing our shopping excursion from becoming a free-for-all by being on the front lines. Despite the difficulty of the job, they carry it out with a smile. That shows a great deal of commitment! Let's now discuss the economics: their pay, which is frequently on the lower end, isn't fully commensurate with the risk they take on. We are effectively supporting their well-being when we tip, and this benefits the caliber of their service. It's like if we are contributing to their and our own happiness fund. Not to mention the ripple effect: a little additional money in their pocket could have a big impact on their families. A tiny deed can have a significant effect. Tipping them is essentially like taking a playful gamble on goodwill, where the odds are always in favor of a more compassionate and better world
I have a different opinion. Going by your definition, if we should tip security guards then we should also tip the police for the good work they do. They play a greater role in society protecting life and property. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Some services do not need tips from the public as it can affect the integrity of the officer doing his job. Acts like this can lead to corruption. I think a solution to the financial problems security personnels face is a higher salary and better quality healthcare for themselves and their families.
211  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to create trades with pictures? on: January 06, 2024, 08:06:04 PM
I've seen many image threads here, everyone has created threads with different images. I also want to create a thread with pictures here. But I don't know how I can create thread with image here. Please help me.
Welcome to bitcointalk. You have to be at least junior member rank to post images. You only need 1 merit and the right amount of actively to become junior member so it’s not a very difficult task to accomplish. Another option is buying copper membership, but that’s not necessary unless it is very important that you post the images immediately.

P.S. Edit your topic title, there is a typo “trades” I believe you meant to type “thread”.
212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 06, 2024, 07:19:43 PM
Arsenal faces Liverpool in the F.A cup match tomorrow. Arsenal seems to be flopping in their recent matches so far as their loss to Westham and Fulham really cost the club a lot because their title hopes have been thrown into jeopardy though Arsenal have always done something of this nature in the past seasons where they would be leading the table till a certain stage they will begin to lose and draw matches thereby not being able to win the premier league for so many years now.

Looking at Arsenal current performance, one can easily give the match to Liverpool to win Arsenal but Arsenal needs to win Liverpool at least so that they can be hopeful of achieving the F.A Cup title because as for the premiership I don't think Liverpool will be able to drop form with their level of performance.
Arsenal are moving in the same fashion they did in the last season. They start the season and lose focus when they are ahead. It’s disappointing seeing how much hope and faith the supporters have in Arteta and the team to get their first league trophy in a very long while. There is still a huge chance to remain contenders as they are just two points away from first position. The fans can only hope that Arsenal can hold up and revive their chances with crucial wins in the coming games against Liverpool and the next league game and watch other teams drop points.
213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Back after long hibernation! How to gain Merit !! on: January 06, 2024, 06:14:25 PM
Welcome back! Since you’re interested in joining signature campaigns, merit is not your only problem. You have negative feedback on your account, campaign managers usually do not accept applicants with negative feedback into their campaigns, it gives the company you’re promoting a bad look. I think you should work on repairing your reputation first before applying for campaigns.

I am doubting if it still the original owner of this account that still posting from it, based on this sort of question it's something that would be expected from a newbie or someone who has been here but had not gotten any growth at all.
You have gotten the merit of a legendary member only to come back to ask for ways to earn few merit.
I guess you missed his responses on that subject. He already addressed the issue in the first three comments in the thread.

214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 06, 2024, 05:51:20 PM

Exactly, Manchester City is not an appropriate opponent for Copenhagen especially now that Manchester City will played with a full squad because Kevin de Bruyne has recovered from injury so we will see a different game from Manchester City or we can call it Real Manchester City and I will say it's an easy win for Manchester City. This match will be played in February and there are still many moments to be passed but if Manchester City plays with the main squad then it doesn't have a way for Copenhagen to get points/win.
Kevin de Bruyne’s impact in Manchester City cannot be overstated. He is the playmaker in the team and ensures Haaland gets the goals. Manchester City has a great squad on the pitch and on the bench. They are not a side that can be affected greatly by injuries. Despite the absence of KDB and Haaland, Manchester City have a good chance of finishing the game as winners. Manchester City may experience some difficulties winning games in the EPL without KDB but surely not against Copenhagen.
215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 06, 2024, 05:35:27 PM
Boehly isn't good at doing his work in my opinion. This team deserve a much better owner such as Abramovich. You know how Abramovich's times were. Chelsea were in much better condition than this.
Todd Boehly doesn't know so much about football, he is just signing players left, right and center, their transfer policy under Todd Boehly is somewhat flawed. Having said that, all the problems Chelsea has isn't the fault of the owner Todd, the players and manager are also culpable, quite a lot of these players were bought with a lot of money and their salaries are also pretty high; thus they ought to deliver more for the club than they are doing now. Chelsea are in a transition period, and the fans must understand that it will take sometime before they get back to their previous elite levels.
Nobody knew what to expect when Todd Boehly took over as CEO of the club. The former owner Roman Abramovich had won several trophies and made Chelsea FC a top club in the European football. Abramovich was very much interested in wining trophies and was a football lover. Making profits was not the goal, the goal was to make the club a championship contender every season. Abramovich knew how to run the business, he was quick to sack managers when they fail to get the job done, and his strategies proved productive. His successor Todd Boehly obviously has a lot to learn, I would advice that Boehly delegates the role to someone more experienced and competent enough to handle the sporting affairs in the club.

Roberto Firmino is said to have an intention to leave Al-Ahli these days. Fulham are rumoured to be interested in him as well. Other than them I have heard of some Turkish teams having an interest in signing him too. I think his first choice would be to return to the English Premier League. Because he can make more money there than he can in Turkey and he is already very familiar with the league.  Smiley

I thought he shouldn't have left Liverpool in the first place but of course he must be earning much more money there. But I mean he was doing quite okay at Liverpool and performing even better than Nunez.
It will be good news to see Firmino return to the English premier league. Fulham is not also a bad destination as they are in good form and Firmino will fit in perfectly if a deal could be struck between parties involved. It seems like the Saudi league has not favored Firmino so far and a move away is very likely. Leaving Liverpool at the time he did was a good move because his time at Liverpool was overstretched and the club needed fresh legs.
217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 06, 2024, 03:45:20 PM
I’m not one to blame managers for the problems of a club but I’m not satisfied with Ten Hag’s performance in Manchester United especially in regards to player recruitment. A number of signings that have come into the team under Ten Hag’s administration have flopped and proven not worthy, his inability to utilize Ronaldo to the team’s full advantage is enough to convince anyone of his incompetence but most fans still blame Ronaldo for the Ten Hag’s failure. Soon other good players like Bruno, Casemiro, Rashford etc will also grow tired and opt for the exit door, maybe then it will be clear to the fans that Ronaldo wasn’t the problem.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 06, 2024, 02:55:37 AM
Manchester United are having that assurance of getting new players in this January transfer window but getting players isn't going to solve the problem even with Chelsea. To me they shouldn't go for any player but try to organize themselves, Manchester United have Greenwood that can change the outcome of the team but they intend to go for ex-Chelsea player Timo Werner, to me Manchester United have players who have same ability as this player Werner so is of no need. For Chelsea they too don't need to start struggling with Arsenal to get Ivan Tony because is not really going to change anything. To me if they eventually get Tony, he's going to struggle with the team and some players would still be on the bench, is best to sell some players before getting new ones.
Manchester United need players who can make real changes to the team. But it seems Erik Ten Hag is clueless when it comes to transfer dealings and recruitment of players. In the last two transfer windows, Erik Ten Hag has made a number of transfers and yet the team is still in the position they were in before. And I believe they will be heading in the same direction if they sign Timo Werner in this transfer window to boost Manchester United’s attack.

I promote a gambling company, I visit these mega threads and I know the rate of spam happening there. However, there are still good and quality posters there.
I do not have such time to moderate a thread but I also do not think that creating a thread and self moderating it will help curtail spam. It will only make spammers avoid the self moderated thread. The best option remains to report to a moderator.
It takes one who understands the sport to be able to distinguish between garbage posts and quality posts in these football threads. Like I said in my previous post, many spammers have been caught on JollyGood’s self moderated thread. I don’t know how he combs through all the comments to vet the trash out, all I know is that he’s very interested in football and is also passionate in busting spammers. That’s one hell of a combo.
