201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LIBERTYCOIN][XLB] X11 | 100% POS | 5 Exchanges | No IPO | No Premine on: May 16, 2014, 07:43:12 PM

LOL...can you imagine what is going to happen after it gets on Mintpal and we start promoting this thing? F..k the Moon man we are headed for Pluto...

Great movie/scene.

A major exchange (which is inevitable) is not the only thing, anonymous features being added, among others being worked on, would be huge for XLB and the crypto world.

A truly gifted member needs to take that anon bounty!

These past two days have been amazing. We might have witnessed the birth of three new top 10 altcoins: Darkcoin, Libertycoin and Nautiluscoin. If you think about it, Litecoin has zero advantage over DRK, XLB or NAUT. There is a second spot to be had on the market cap list and my guess it will be one of those three with the other two in close proximity. I feel we have entered a new phase, among the tons and tons of shitcoins being pooped out daily we find these three gems that actually bring something new to the table.

Edit : Blackcoin and Silkcoin also make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, although they cater for another niche than DRK, XLB and NAUT.

Agreed Springfield-> Secure, fast, minimal distribution, and true anonymity.  Very attractive!

Hello XLB community, with the recommendations of trusted members and the potential benefits of this coin, I'm happy to join.

As member HardwarePal pointed out, if we could implement true anonymity (such as DRK send), making this the first truly anonymous POS coin, this could be a innovative game changer in crypto.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | BlackCoin (BC/BLK) | Where is the Foundation/Community Manager? on: May 15, 2014, 05:17:42 PM

dude.. okay. the crypto world is full with scammers. doesn't mean hes a prick and to lazy to give people's money back. your naive.

Dude, thank you for your admission about crypto being full of scammers but you really don't know me to call me naive.  That, not surprisingly in BC threads these days, is counterproductive.

I won't start something that won't end.  Once again, if nothing else, it was an expensive lesson that I unknowingly paid for.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | BlackCoin (BC/BLK) | Where is the Foundation/Community Manager? on: May 15, 2014, 05:04:18 PM
To all of you crying about Iconic performing a hit-n-run, this is silly.

Remember that you, solely you, at your discretion and at your own risk, donated and there are no guarantee's in crypto.  I repeat, no guarantees in crypto.

He doesn't need to take to scam anyone and he knows the potential backlash in doing such would be exponential.  I don't agree with the Red Cross idea but I know that issuing refunds and confirming each transaction would be nightmarish.  And to some conspirators, who's to say you wouldn't lie about whether you received it or not.  After the community split, I wouldn't so put yourself in all shoes except your own, for once.  I do believe the donations should go to a BC Project because BC members donated to the BC cause and if I wanted to donate to Red Cross, I could do that myself with fiat.

For the record, I donated 1k BC.....I'm not concerned because for me, it can be viewed as money that can be used towards Iconic's future endeavors, which I've already inquired or at the very least, a financial lesson on my part.

Explore opportunities by turning a potentially bad thing into a good thing, learn from your mistakes and stop bickering.  It's evident a few BC means a lot to some of you. Although $.08 shouldn't be.  We are in a gray shade, Wild West, unregulated, part of the World Wide Web.  If this is too much for you to handle, I suggest you don't ever donate again.  There is and will always be scams/suspicious activity in crypto.
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | BlackCoin (BC/BLK) | Price Dropping | Community Manager On Beach on: May 15, 2014, 12:45:59 AM
I hate to call the kettle black but for better or worse, whether all of Iconic's accusations bare truth and proof, the underlying fact is he's been disturbingly accurate about everything that's happened to BC in the past week. Hand in it or not.

You all can't deny the fact that 'The Foundation' hasn't done much to address current state of BC or instill confidence.  The lack of professionalism and public marketability definitely played a role in this as well.  Sure, DRK is experiencing a rise and generated interest, but I don't think it would've had these ramifications to this extent if it weren't for the points above.

With that said, I think if we can stop bickering as professionals and fomenting hatred, and get back to order of business, all of this will be a thing of the past.

If we continue down this path, there will be a point of no return.

Whether or not members choose to hold BC, is only a drop in the bucket to the true potential of crypto in general.

112 BTC Buy Wall at 26.7 SAT, interesting buy/sell's today.

Just curious why this would take place and maybe I'm just relatively new but wouldn't this be regarded as a shield to prevent BC from going higher?  If so, why would anyone do that now if they could have acquired more BC for as low as 24k this AM?  Not to mention, the Buy is put on and taken off routinely at different SAT by a difference of .1-1k.  Whatever the case is, this trader is smart.  Unless it's insider stuff or Mintpal, which you can't doubt.

And as I finished this post, it's now 109 BTC @ 27 SAT

112 BTC @ 26700,, he's showing off !        (edit: aaaaand he went from 112.1 to 112.98, back @109 again  Grin )

funny how the two threads have the same content  Grin

Actually trippy, didn't even know the other thread was writing the same thing.  My post is a genuine concern since I was watching Mintpal all AM and don't quite understand if this drives price up in the short term but can actually cause a dump if it can't sustain.  I've read others write about these big walls before but when I would go check, they would be removed, never actually saw one until today.  But at least I'm not the only one seeing this.

BC trade volume rising steadily throughout the day (Currently 653 BTC).

Pool V2 release (nice UI), Black Coin cards going out, telecast #2 tonight, announcement by IE (dare I say Wall St. confirmed or a complete switch to something bigger?) this coming Thursday.

I mean we know what 'The Foundation' has and will be doing but speculators like to speculate, so let them speculate that something fantastic is about to happen.  I'm speculating as such.

I concur!  Once you go black, you never go back... or something

LOL I'll go anything as long as our blacks go up.  Whoa, all kinds of subliminal's there.

The truth is, a rift within the community between higher visibility members would be viewed as loss of confidence and thwart any interest from possible investors/BC Believers.

Whether we like it or not, Iconic leaving would have a negative impact on BC.  It would be one in the same if the 'Foundation' was to falter or the PR Firm didn't provide concrete results.

It's a psychological blow and aside from the usual (pumping of other coins, price suppression, volatility), what happened last week definitely contributed to our current state.

It's a moment in time and we'll pull through.  The unifying into a singular thread is IMO, vital to our growth so that there is common practice/community.

We're already unifying in other places. We have been for weeks. I've noticed that in the last week, the subreddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/blackcoin/) has the bulk of our active project posts. It has quadrupled in subscriber base in a few weeks.. the exodus from here has started for a while now.

I don't think BitcoinTalk is the place for BlackCoin, if we really strive to be #1.  Smiley

I agree, I was registered to BC on Reddit pre-fallout but if I wasn't, I would've heeded your advice and joined.  Smiley I don't know if anyone will ever topple #1, although that is the goal, but I definitely think BC can be Top 3.  The infrastructure, projects, and specs are there and we are becoming ripe for the taking.

All the orders from the first batch will be finished being filled this week.

Wazzup big boy..feels really good to be a remora opturnistic little cunt of a fish to be swimming underneath your fud......i like to eat the shit that your mouth would miss and love to digest the truth you fat whale ass cannot....

This is unnecessary Hidden, we are past this stage and you are just bringing negativity at this point.  This is counterproductive and contrary to the BC community's efforts.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | BlackCoin (BC/BLK) | GoBlackCoin | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: May 11, 2014, 05:46:14 AM

anyways the only thing that slowed as down a tad bit is the lock on the old thread, if it was reopened and people just realized that we are a whole and we can control the community by the  way we act as a whole  and if we want to move forward don't even mention another coin in the thread

+1

A rift within any community would be viewed as lost of confidence and lack of resolve .  Those serve as negative indicators for potential investors/believers and I'll reiterate that the closing of the thread and lack of respect was/continues to be a suppressor, aside from the obvious suppression.  Truly sad to see it unfold but I believe that people can overcome and unify to work for a common cause.

We've got some growing pains yeah..and some greed.. but I dont think someone is manipulating the price..

Maybe some new investors who want to build a large position Smiley

I think is normal market behaviour.. we will breakout of this sooner or later.. in the meantime we just.. keep working on good stuff..

I see that and thank you for your professional work and involvement Maarx (here and @ Reddit).

I think we'll overcome/surpass too but the falling out was nothing short of discouraging.  They'll jump back into BC and hold if they knew what's good for them.

I just want to say that the coin that surpassed BC and hit #9 has some nice features (DGW, Dark Send/anonymity, rare, secure) but I think the passing into #9 was inevitable given the current circumstances:

1) Obviously, partly a pump
2) We've had multiple good news for BC this week (PR Firm announcement, Coinkite image, BC cards being prepped for shipment, 'Foundation' webpage) but aside from someone/some people trying to suppress the price (stupid/greedy and obviously not for BC, instead of letting BC rise naturally, you're suppressing it artificially), the trade volume is not there.
3) The thread closing and split was just ridiculous, meanwhile other communities like that coin are strictly helpful, respectful, and prosperous.  Of course, our image is tarnished, albeit temporarily.

We'll bounce back but this was surely a bump in the road, more like a big pothole that gave us a flat.  We'll fix it.

Very nice work Iconic, I'm really amazed with your work and dedication.

Shame that some people out here don't give you the value you deserve.

These cards/packaging look real nice IE!  I see you're a perfectionist and don't want a poorly executed product to bare any negative reflection on you.  I'm looking forward to receiving mine from the 2nd batch.

Then I'll take some amazing pictures for the BC Instagram page (@BlackCoinOfficial)

Cards look real good and well executed Iconic.  From the looks of it, you're a perfectionist and will not send out a unfinished product that would be a poor reflection of you.  I wish I bought the Limited Edition version, these can be very valuable in time.

Can't wait to get my card so I can do some awesome photography for the our BC Instagram (@BlackCoinOfficial)

Wow, I just read what I wrote and confused myself.

simplified:  the foundation is an organization composed of members of the community who's purpose is to determine how best to spend the funds controlled by the foundation for the betterment of blackcoin.

Thanks Acseric, I understand now and after reading Maarx's breakdown on voting.  I'm all for organized allocating of finances and a team is needed for this in any operation so long as it's not for the financial benefit of the 'Foundation' members via trimming or so-called commission and its genuinely for BC.

People that have more money should have a higher say, The more blackcoin they have, the more they care to have it successful, also the more they know what are they doing since if you have $20K USD to buy crypto with, its more likely that you are a very successful business owner in real life with a lot of experience, then a bum living in your mom's basement. Just probabilities and its a number game.

I vote for people that hold the most cash to have the biggest say in what the foundation should do. Oligarchy for the win
[/quote]

Interesting you say this because how does oligarchy (very rich and powerful) even come to play for decentralized currency?  It's an oxymoron, talk of taking BC for votes is bribery and greed filled IMHO and the Foundation is an organized group to focus on projects and helping in bringing BC to the next level.  I would like to think they are not an Exchange or some dirty politicians.

So counterpoints to previous quotes:

Asceric
"Businesses are not decentralized in the least.  They are totally centralized, with the board of directors and CEOs making all of the decisions.  Shareholders vote for the board members, based on how many shares they have (and also for big resolutions, etc)" I really respect your opinion and enjoy your posts so yes, you're right but do you bribe them to sway decisions?  No, CEOs and Presidents are chosen because they earned it through hard work, reputation, and an uncanny ability to lead.  And while your point does exist everywhere to a certain extent, it shouldn't here in crypto. The fabric for which crypto exists is to operate opposite of your argument, not to let a few control it.  If that's the case and 'The Foundation' is to operate like board members, then they should call the shots without a voting system.

Mr_Random
Why do you think in the running of multimillion dollar businesses on the stock market people who are the biggest shareholders have more of a say? Just curious what you think about that. Or do you think every shareholder in a business should be equal?
[/i] They do but who's winning and who's losing?  The bull traders with inside info/immortal practices or the joe schmoe that invested because he/she believed in something or was swindled?  That's the exact problem with what happened in 2008.  The only way I can see you argue this is you're a large holder yourself or you didn't feel the pain of the 2008 downturn, when trading firms and banks swindled innocent people and we faced the largest deficit (still today), loss jobs, loss of confidence, foreclosures, etc.  If you don't remember, or were a part of the swindling, or were too young, I suggest you read up on it.  Crypto is decentralized and independent of those that can control our lives and run by a network of peers (equal). I'm not saying you don't have a point, I'm just saying, we have to put things in perspective.

BC community consists of multiple BC believers

so

1 member = 1 vote or no vote at all if you all believe that 'The Foundation' will do what's right for the big picture.
