201  Economy / Economics / Re: Solution to poverty - Socialism or Capitalism? on: June 09, 2014, 09:32:39 PM
Capitalism drives innovation. Even under the current crony capitalism system we are seeing massive innovation. A truly free market would see incredible progress.
Innovation is an ambiguous term! As I wrote in previous post, product and process innovation have opposite effects on capitalist society.
202  Economy / Economics / Re: Solution to poverty - Socialism or Capitalism? on: June 09, 2014, 09:16:27 PM
Capitalism can not continue to exist because in today's age we have automation. And automation creates poverty. Must find a new model. Perhaps an anarchist model, or a gift based economy, or a model based on Silvio Gesell s ideas.

Automation lowers opportunity cost and allows us to focus on other pursuits. Economies change and people adapt.
Capitalism can only continue functioning if rate of product innovation (creation of new consumer product classes like flying cars) will outpace rate of process innovation (automation). This is known as "Luddite fallacy", however it is not a law of physics so can break away any time. If governments won't prepare to this moment, capitalism will be destroyed through bloody revolution instead of peaceful transition.
203  Economy / Speculation / 2014-06-04 Crash on: June 04, 2014, 03:13:30 AM
Was there any fundamental reason why Bitcoin crashed today from $680 to $620-630?
204  Economy / Speculation / Re: 700$ by tomorrow? on: June 01, 2014, 09:04:22 PM
Bitcoin crashed after growth wave, I don't think $700 will be reached tomorrow. May be after few days or week.
205  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin pump n dump illegal? on: May 30, 2014, 01:25:27 PM
What country will regulate?!! If any do, exchanges in other countries will just use advantage to attract customers from it!
206  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think China will completely BAN bitcoin? on: May 20, 2014, 03:25:13 AM
Banning Bitcoin is impossible, even for China!

209  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Dailybitcoins.org] Bitcoin faucet, sponsored by ads on: May 08, 2014, 07:18:34 PM
How long does "database optimization" usually take? Dailybitcoins.org has been unavailable for at least a couple of hours. If it is expected, it's fine. Will check back later in the day.
Database optimization takes about 3-4 hours and being performed one time per 2-3 weeks.
210  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Dailybitcoins.org] Bitcoin faucet, sponsored by ads on: May 08, 2014, 12:56:42 AM
I think I found a small bug. Over the past few days I noticed several times that some of the upcoming prizes would be listed on the prizes.php page for a certain time and then right around the time they are supposed to appear, the upcoming prizes page changes their time to a different minute, usually 1 minute later. An example is the 0.00003000 prize that was initially listed for time May 7, 19:48, but then it was changed to 19:49.
It may be some data/time bug in PHP or MySQL affecting rounding. Just ignore it!

I don't like this: "Visit advertisers’ websites and increase your chances to get bigger prizes!"
Is that even true? How can visiting advertisers websites increase the chance to get a bigger prize? no way
I have removed this text long time ago because advertisers don't like any form of urging to click ads.
213  Economy / Economics / Re: Technological unemployment is (almost) here on: April 25, 2014, 02:17:11 PM
You really think selling tobacco, coca based lemonade or pink slime is the moral equivalent to the Killing Fields?
And selling drones, missiles, bombers, private army services etc is considered moral by your point of view?! Shocked
214  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Dailybitcoins.org] Bitcoin faucet, sponsored by ads on: April 23, 2014, 02:59:53 PM
Ad-block detector can fail when the server is overloaded. If this happens please try visiting the site after few minutes.
BTW, I have updated the script and this error must appear less.

Now bitcoin under 400$ and please think about this hourly prize its need to rise for more clicks and more members
Look at non-booby prizes, they of course are adjusted to the BTC price.

Booby prize is intentionally kept low to encourage users spending more time on the Daily Bitcoins catching custom prizes (and generate ad views respectively, which allow us to offer better prizes  Wink)!
218  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Dailybitcoins.org] Bitcoin faucet, sponsored by ads on: April 10, 2014, 03:37:00 AM
You mean keep the prize on the page, do not refresh, wait and try click the "send" button again?
or forget about the prize, refresh and try to win a prize again?
Don't refresh, just wait until all ads will be fully loaded.
219  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin will never be surpassed by any fork on: April 09, 2014, 02:21:49 PM
Besides the network effect, there are another things that altcoin proponents ignore. Bitcoin has the strongest team of developers among all cryptocurrencies, as well as security vulnerabilities being fixed at first on Bitcoin (Litecoin/Peercoin/Dogecoin/etc will receive them much later). Recent OpenSSL issue is good example: Bitcoin is already fixed, Litecoin and others still vulnerable.

Forks can offer some nice features, but when it comes to the security (and a chance to lose all your coins due to unfixed bug), large investors will make appropriate conclusions IMHO.
220  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Dailybitcoins.org] Bitcoin faucet, sponsored by ads on: April 09, 2014, 03:05:34 AM
@medUSA, this can happen when ad network's or Daily Bitcoins' server is overloaded (the banners not being fully loaded and the script cannot detect if it was due to ad-block or not).
In this case, just wait some time and try again!
