201  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: This is just getting nuts on: August 03, 2011, 10:35:40 PM
A smart person on this forum once did the calculations and realized we have almost no power to drive distributors out of stock on AMD cards. We are such a tiny fraction of GPU buyers compared to gamers it's funny.  AMD is just doing a damn good job selling great GPU's.

100% agree....as I stated above.  It isn't the miners doing this.
202  Economy / Speculation / Re: PULL YOUR SELL ORDERS!!! on: August 03, 2011, 10:33:46 PM
People are freaking out about this.  Most people joined within the last two months...so they have only seen bitcoin when it was above $10...now it as if the bottom dropped out on them.
203  Economy / Speculation / Re: 20 000 bitcoins to get under 10 dollars on: August 03, 2011, 10:26:51 PM
I would not mind if they were in the $5 range...I think bitcoins have been overpriced for a while.  Look at the run it has had this year.  When CNN and Foxnews puts you on, you become popular.  Unfortunately, the DDoS, hacks, massive sell in June, and recession striking the world have had an impact.  While I think bitcoin has its place...I don't think its place is $15.  I am thinking $8 or so now with MARGINAL increases...not massive ones.
204  Economy / Speculation / Re: Even if you want to buy... on: August 03, 2011, 10:17:32 PM
Meh, just means people get more bitcoins for cheaper since it falls while they wait. The problem isn't waiting on buyers, it's sellers freaking the fuck out and continuing to sell, not realizing that if they just wait for 3 days they'll get a better price.

100% agree with this post.
205  Economy / Speculation / Re: damn... just sold all my btc for 8.7 and now it's 9.5 on: August 03, 2011, 10:16:53 PM
LOL.  You sold at 8 and change...it sucks but that is life when playing a market.

I sold some at 13.13 when I traded it for silver coins.  Now it looks like I made a great deal.
206  Economy / Speculation / Re: Jesus, Doomsday already??? Watch Mt Gox on: August 03, 2011, 10:04:14 PM
I am wondering how much of this has to do with people's overall debt and their feeling that if the price dips too much that they won't get anything from it?
207  Economy / Speculation / Re: Battle for the Single Digits on: August 03, 2011, 09:58:23 PM
What a day of trading...looks like it is holding steady at $9.30 USD right now on MtGOX.   From $12.33 to $9.30?  That is a BIG drop...not as bad as June...but still a big hit on confidence.
208  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price collapse! on: August 03, 2011, 09:52:40 PM
I am hoping the price drops even further...then it will cause the following chain reaction:

    1.  Prices of video cards to come back down to reality as miners quit buying more and more cards, increasing their prices
    2.  Miners to leave mining as it because more profitable to do something else (possibly purchase)...causing difficulty to slow or even decrease
    3.  Me to mine more   Wink
209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wowww What a ride! $8.10 at TH, $10.12 at MtGox! on: August 03, 2011, 09:45:43 PM
I hope all the people that were on it for a quick buck leave causing the difficulty to slow its increase or even drop a few points.  Wink
210  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Another (fishy?) site selling 5850's for cheap. on: August 03, 2011, 09:37:06 PM
Have any of these shipped yet?  I would like to know as I wouldn't mind picking one up to assist my mining.
211  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 Motherboard on: August 03, 2011, 09:33:45 PM
That is overkill of a power supply

I would also guess that you are looking at a system drawing somewhere around 900-1000w before overclock.  Overclocking will jump you to about 1200w if you push the cards hard.
212  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PCIe 1x>16x Extenders on a 16x slot. on: August 03, 2011, 09:24:22 PM
I am doing some reading on these...I have a few 1x slots...but only 2 16x slots...I want to add three more cards to my mining rig.
213  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: This is just getting nuts on: August 03, 2011, 09:22:00 PM
I wouldn't necessarily blame it on the miners...the 6970 is a good card but I know a bunch of guys that are buying them to game on at the moment because of Battlefield 3 alpha.
214  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Hey, shouldn't we pull out of mining before the difficulty change? on: August 03, 2011, 09:20:44 PM
Actually with the price drop today and the difficulty increase coming...I see some people with higher electricity costs shutting down for a week or two to let the price stabilize.

I, myself, as a single GPU miner can still mine until the priced drops below 3.70 for a bitcoin
215  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: All Miners Should Determine their 'Break Even' BTC Price on: August 03, 2011, 09:17:14 PM
Mine is right about 3.70 with my 420Mh/s
216  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: When will miners stop mining with the price keep dropping? on: August 03, 2011, 09:14:30 PM
I will not stop mining...I am hoping all you quit for a while so I can mine more with less  Wink
217  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitminter.com * 150 BTC promotion * mine 6-11% more bitcoins! on: August 03, 2011, 09:14:00 PM
I am getting 420Mh/s now instead of 409Mh/s on guiminer...

I hope you are trustworthy as I have moved to your server.

God Bless.
218  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter miner (FAST, cool GUI, zero installation, Windows/Linux/Mac) on: August 03, 2011, 12:52:51 AM
I love this program...wish there were more miners in your pool so the returns are almost guaranteed.  I am now on it with my 420MH/s...I will be adding some video cards soon when I get a deal on some 6870's...so I should end up around 1GH/s within the next few weeks.
219  Economy / Marketplace / Re: iPod Touch 16GB 1st Generation on: August 02, 2011, 11:33:21 AM
What are all these crazy prices?? I sold my PSP for about 5 BTC

Notice the date...bitcoin was worth pennies back then.
220  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Private Torrent Invite for BTC on: August 02, 2011, 11:20:26 AM
I guess I should have said it is a TRUE private tracker...not like Demonoid.
