201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: None of the private wallets support my coins !! on: January 10, 2022, 05:44:28 PM

What do you mean by support here? Those wallet is not showing your token balance in your apps?

In a private wallet like Exodus or a hardware wallet like Trezor, you can only hold the tokens that they support. ie. if you want to put Illuvium tokens there, and they don't support that token, then you will not be able to move your Illuvium tokens from the centralized exchange to your private wallet.

Regarding Metamask, some say it only support Ethereum based tokens ? I'm keen to use MetaMask, but I've also heard horror stories about YouTubers who got hacked using MetaMask, one of them lost almost everything ! ( I think they were staking ) So with MetaMask the risk of getting hacked seems too high !

Examples of MetaMask users getting hacked:

May I know, for all the tokens you mentioned, which wallet are you currently in?

My centralized exchange's default wallet. It's a terrible option, but I can't find anything else !
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / None of the private wallets support my coins !! on: January 10, 2022, 03:19:06 PM
Tried *almost* everything ! Trezor, Ledger Nano, Ellipal Titan, Atomic Wallet, Exodus, Coinomi, you name it ! All of them are missing at least 3 or 4 of my tokens ! What's the point of taking your crypto off the centralized exchange if none of the private wallets support the damn things !?

I don't think I'm asking for much, the tokens are hold are hardly exotic or super low caps nobody's ever heard of. Here are some of them:

Terra Luna
Theta
Avalanche
Helium
Illuvium
Superfarm
Harmony ONE
Pancakeswap

And hoping to add soon:
Star Atlas
Monero
Gala
Efinity
HEX

2 Ethereum for whoever finds me a wallet that works. Kidding ! But give it another 6 months, I might consider it !

Beating Matic, Solana and Theta for yearly gains...  Wink

Woke up today ( im in a different part of the world ) to discover everything is in red except Terra ! In fact, Terra seems to be making some parabolic moves just about now ! Wow ...

For the record I do not own any BSV, or BCH... and I have invested in Bitcoin. Whether Craig Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto or not makes no difference to me, I'm mostly invested into Altcoins like Terra, Solana, Matic, Helium, Ethereum and a few others. What I was saying is that based on what I've seen and heard on YouTube ( including testimonials from very credible people in reliable news channels, not "opinion" fanboy channels ) I found Craig Wright to be a likely candidate.

P.S. If his education and Phds are all fake, those BBC journalists were certainly fooled, as they referenced them many times...

And one other thing... Artists want to meet their fans too.. feel their energy, the roar of the crowd, girls chanting their names and holding signs up, and sometimes getting up close and personal with some of them ( ask Van Halen or Kiss Wink ) How will they get that in a Metaverse concert ?
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terra is killing it !! on: December 19, 2021, 05:32:05 PM
I see Terra Luna becoming the next AAVE, maybe much bigger. But first , it should match AAVE's current price of $180. Then we can talk about Terra hitting $300, and I don't think that's a stretch.

Well, as a male fan of many female artists I've got to get back to my original point ... fans go to concerts basically to be near their idols, to feel like they can almost touch them, meet them backstage sometimes, see what they look like in person, etc. How could you do any of this with a 3d figure  ? I mean, yeh, fortnite did a good job with the graphics, and 3D Ariana looked good ( for a 3D Character ) but it wasn't Ariana ! So in the end I kinda felt cheated out of the real concert experience because I ended up with a video game with pretty 3D graphics that played Arianna in the background. Also, lets not overlook the performance aspect of it. It takes a lot of talent to put together a good performance, not just Ariana, but also, the back up singers, keyboard and strings musicians, etc.  I WANT TO SEE ALL THAT. I don't need the pretty rainbows decorated with flowers!

Last time I added a source to my post, it got removed by the moderators.  I've got nearly 40 posts, and the one with a source link has been the only one removed by moderators. Maybe someone can explain how that works.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Terra is killing it !! on: December 19, 2021, 08:44:37 AM
I have been an early investor in Theta, Polygon, Solana, Avalanche, and I have to say, Terra is becoming my most successful token ! Growth is just off the charts ! Even during this downtime, and as a top 12 crypto with a huge market cap, Terra Luna is still beating most of the Altcoins everybody thought will go 100X this year ! I suspect part of this could be due to the fact that Terra is said to be burning 88.7 million tokens to mint their UST stablecoin. Anyone knows whether this is still taking place ? Cause Terra is still going up !

Who wouldn't want to live near a Volcano ?  Grin  But seriously, I think their Internet speeds are some of the worst in Asia..
214  Economy / Economics / Indonesia's 0% Tax on foreigners and digital nomads on: December 19, 2021, 08:16:44 AM
Seems like Indonesia just found a way to attract "the money" into their country. Not yet sure what this entails but I suspect Crypto users may still get taxed. What Indonesia needs to do now is upgrade their Internet infrastructure so that digital nomads and crypto traders can settle there.
215  Other / Off-topic / Thoughts on the Metaverse craze ( for concerts ) on: December 19, 2021, 07:44:48 AM
One thing about the Metaverse: I think it will work for some things... not for others. Example: I checked out the Ariana Grande thing on Fortnite... WTF was that ?!?! The whole thing just felt like a video game or some kind of a barbie adventure quest. Is that what people want ?!? Personally, I'm a guy and also happen to be a musician so I want to see Ariana ( the real Ariana, not some 3d Barbie doll ) sing, look sexy in her cute costumes, flirt with the public, interact with the other musicians, dance , talk to the public in japanese , etc. The nice graphics and all that ? Maybe for a music video ( even then, I prefer the real Arianna as we can't make CGI sexy yet ). True that we can't put 2 million people in a concert hall , but we certainly can stream the video concert on PPV ! ( or sell the DVDs ). So I'm not sold in the whole Metaverse thing for concerts, I don't think it works for boybands or boy singers either... most teenage girls want to feel close to their idols, occasionally jump onstage to hug them, and sometimes even get a free backstage pass to hang with them.

There's another guy... Roger Ver "the Bitcoin Jesus", who claims that Bitcoin Cash is the real deal because it can actually be used for payments. So it seems both Bitcoin SV and Bitcoin Cash are more efficient for electronic payments than BTC. Then there is Litecoin, Digibyte, Nano, and a dozen other cryptos that can be used as forms of payment, yet BTC remains at the top.

Wow. Some of the comments here! It seems some of the nay sayers are mostly basing their views on gossip and internet rumors. I'm open minded, but show me some real evidence ! And are you even aware that Craig Wright just won a civil lawsuit against him regarding the creation of Bitcoin ? ( they wanted to take away a big chunk of the early mined Bitcoins, which only Satoshi Nakamoto would have had access to ) Also, moving coins is not the only way to prove you have access to the private keys, there are other ways, and CW has already done this privately in front of a few selected individuals. You need to find the Kitco report on it ( keywords "Kitco News Satoshi Nakamoto")I would share the direct link here but last time I did that my post got removed by moderators.

How crazy would it be if BSV now started going parabolic all the way to 100K because of Craig Wright ?  Grin
Stranger things have happened !!
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If I had bought bitcoin 10 years ago, I would have been a millionaire: Not true on: December 18, 2021, 03:54:17 PM
I saw a video on YouTube about a woman who had about 300 Bitcoin at one point ( early days ). But when the interviewer asked her how many BTC she had now, she said "about a dozen". She'd spent all the rest funding a business and other things. Altogether she held those Bitcoin for about 3 years I think.

Let's not forget E-Gold. I remember when it came out, and it looked promising as the internet was just beginning to take off. But imagine investing $20,000 into E-Gold back then ( before Bitcoin ). You would have lost that money for sure...
220  Other / Off-topic / First impressions on Craig Wright ( Satoshi Nakamoto ? ) on: December 18, 2021, 03:09:08 PM
Wherever I go, opinions seem to be divided about whether Craig Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto or not. Out of curiosity, I decided to watch a few of the interviews and lectures CW has done over the years, and hear what he has to say. I have to admit some of the things he said struck me as shocking ( ie. BTC will never go to 100K, BTC is not a store of value, etc. ) but hey, I've got an open mind.
Without going into much detail, after watching several of the interviews on YouTube I have to admit he seems to be the real deal. Or in other words, he is almost everything you'd expect Satoshi Nakamoto to be... and more. I say almost because I expected Satoshi Nakamoto to be a little more nerdish and socially awkward, kind of like Vitalik Buterin and many other computer science geniuses in the space. But I guess genius comes in all forms and Craig Wright may be an example of this.
With a background in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics and Law, it's hard to imagine a more qualified individual to fit the Satoshi Nakamoto profile. He also holds several Phds to his name and hundreds ( if not thousands ) of patents. So not only is this man highly creative, but also one of the most highly educated and intelligent people you'll ever come across. He is also already a billionaire from what I know, and extremely successful in various fields. So given these extraordinary credentials I don't think the man is looking for attention / fame, or trying to get rich via fraud, in fact he states he doesn't want any of this in one of his interviews. So right now I'm inclined to believe he is who he claims to be. The question now is ... will this be the kiss of death for BTC ? I say this because he claims BSV is the real Bitcoin and BTC is not. I understand his reasons but BSV has never been highly regarded by the crypto community and  in fact many shitcoins like Dogecoin and Shiba have a far greater following. Also I don't think his attempts to discredit BTC will go too far... BTC has already been adopted by many Institutions, Banks and people of influence. However, I do believe this casts a shroud of uncertainty over the future of BTC as Craig Wright is a hugely influential figure.
