201  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Politics have always been a part of football, and that shouldn't change. on: September 05, 2022, 02:47:57 PM
My views as to politics and sports brings me to a point of dishonest practices where some players could be favoured more than others as per figuring in a game, where referees seems to give the home base team a chance to lead, where players of clubs origin are rationed to have more playing time as opposed to others despite qualifications and fitness.

The clear example of your point is the English Premier league where one or two English players must be in the starting eleven. The view is to have the countries players having more minutes in competitive club football. Football has been used to hault even wars in the past. We can't take politics outta football and sport but it should be reduce to the barest minimum, so as not to take away the fun
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigerian FG to partner Binance on: September 05, 2022, 02:01:26 PM
The election is next year and the ruling party is really desperate to retain power. These few months they would do everything possible to gain the trust and confidence of the people of Nigeria. They might be looking for some political and economic points to score. They know that the youths are now the highest eligible voters, hence they might be targeting to make policies to please the young population.

Right from onset the ban of cryptocurrency and lunching of ENaira was an hypocritical move by the Government of Nigeria. They actually thought people will move there, but can just compete with a thing of the future (cryptocurrency). Also this partnership with Binance seems just like they want to win the heart of the youths to there side. Although it's a good thing I just hope they don't go back after Election is over
203  Economy / Economics / Re: Helping others could help to improve our country's economy on: September 05, 2022, 01:39:21 PM
I'd see this as a noble act but this won't make help the economy to grow.
Helping each other was just temporary, we can't expect someone to feed us and gives us shelter forever, we have to work hard as well so we can provide for our necessities.

Putting as an example what happens to those who are affected by the war. Some of their people leaving out from that place in order to find peace and a better life because nothing really happens on us if we are still dependent on help from others.
Honestly I go with your view. Helping each other is only a noble work and does not help the economy. The only way we can help the economy is to help ourselves either through skill acquisition. Not many people who have large resources/companies today sit down just to be help by others

205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 04, 2022, 06:25:14 PM

I think Aubameyang still has got his touch and pace right but I would agree on that he wouldn't make much of an impact signing but I also might be wrong. We saw how well he was at Barca if he can continue that same thing then I think he will be the most goalscorer for Chelsea this season but well let's see about that as it depends mostly on Tuchel and his plans.
One problem is solving the scoring problem, the other solving the issue of not conceding. Because Chelsea so far are very poor in Defending, but let's see maybe FOFANA will be able to help them solve the issue. Because even if Aubameyang keeps scoring it won't help team. It will just be a case of Man United last season where Ronaldo has bunch of goals but at the end nothing to show for it in terms of league standings
206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 04, 2022, 06:04:28 PM
There was some doubt when Maguire came on to the pitch, luckily he didn't make a fatal mistake tonight  Cheesy. Maguire did commit a serious foul and received a yellow card, but it had to be done so that Man United did not concede because of a mistake made by Casemiro.

It looks like Man United will be back on the title race this season. I know, there's still a long way to go but if we see that they are successfully beat Liverpool and they managed to stop Arsenal's winning streak and get full points, isn't that proof that they've improved and deserves to be a serious contender in the Premier League?

It is still too early to count Man United among title contenders. The only true contender is Man City for now. Although Tottenham has a coach that knowns how to play league football. But let's all wait to see what the upcoming fixtures will bring.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are people doing except holding Bitcoin? on: September 04, 2022, 05:49:38 PM
You are right, Bitcoin can be a real game changer for everyone.
But to be successful, we can also be normal, private citizens and don't need to be enterpreneurs. Some very early HODLers are private citizens, like Lazlo but he should have kept a few of his Bitcoins, when he purchased his Pizza.
It's unfortunate for him but he was an early Bitcoiner.  Smiley
Definetly the only way to hold and be at peace is to have another sources of income and not to depend solely on trading, because bitcoin is gradual process and its the future. So let's trust the process
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be running in your mind if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again on: September 04, 2022, 05:44:00 PM
If Bitcoin reaches 1000 $ I will just think: BUY BUY BUY  Shocked
This will even be an opportunity for me that started learn just this year to gain ground. I will just buy and convince people to buy. Because I know bitcoin isn't just any shit coin
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best wallet for altcoins ? on: September 04, 2022, 01:51:44 PM
I actually prefer Trust Wallet when it comes to online wallet but for security purpose a hardware Wallet is what you need to save your coin. There open source and close source hardware wallets, the most known ones are Trezor and Leger Nano s

You can look into this threads to know about some hardware Wallets

210  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: September 03, 2022, 07:19:25 PM
A part of me wants to blame the whole hullabaloo going on with Nigerians in Dubai on the government, especially the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Nigerian in Diaspora Commission. But for today, I won't. The average Nigeria has no sense of pride in being a Nigerian. Little wonder why Nigerians would drag themselves so low as to drag the country's name into muddy waters. Cultism outside the country is the most ludicrous thing one can ever hear of. It is simple-undocumented Nigerians who have no busy being in the country should be sent back home.
I concur with you senior man, seriously some Nigerians just dey drag us back. We they try solve internal problems here somepeople they oversee they spoil some things. Na so so ban we dey collect from different countries. The worst part be say na all Nigerians dem dey tag for all this shele. Sincerely before this country go better we self go change our mindset oh
211  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Our children should be our first priority on: September 03, 2022, 06:47:01 PM
I will also like to include numbers of birthing, as a parent you (we) are meant to give at least 2 children or maximum 3 but nowadays some parents are very loosed birthing 6 to 10 children commonly in the African region more especially Nigerians. They kept blaming uncle's, Auntie, Relatives for not taking good care of their children while they couldn't control their selves during child bearing.

I quite agree with you about birth control most especially in Africa but stating the number to be between 3 maximum Is what I don't go with. Rather it should be to the number of ones capabilities. Our grandparents where able to take care of more than 20 children. Although times have change but there are still people that could easily take care of 10+ children. Moreover some of us wouldn't have been birthed if it had stopped at number 3
212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: September 03, 2022, 04:28:19 PM
Betis are always tough opposition for Defending champions. A hard fought win by Real Madrid. Let's see how Barcelona will react to the points dropped by Betis
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 03, 2022, 04:22:49 PM
It's Full Time... Union Berlin 1 : 1 BayernMunich

With this result I can belive that Union Berlin would be a team to Challenge Bayern Munich. I can even say that Bayern is missing that Lewandowski factor in their team. Another observation I have is that Mane is not a striker, the coach should stop playing him as a striker.
With the balance of Barcelona team, it will be difficult for Bayern to get a win against Barca in the Champions League
It will be quite hard to replace someone that usually gives you 30+ league goals for each season. So Bayern will miss Lewandowski for sometime but they will come good. As for mane as striker I think that's there best player for the position in that squad. Union Berlin! let's see how they fair
214  Economy / Economics / Re: Working hours | How many are too many? on: September 03, 2022, 02:46:49 PM
In my country - Nigeria, most public sector works for 7 hours to 9 hours per day, making it 35hrs to 45hrs per week. My country public sector works for 5days in a week. From Mondays to Fridays, the idea of 4 days is not in my country. Then some private sectors work for 6days and some work on Sundays making it 7days.  Some private workers work for 10 to 12 hrs a day. While some works on shift, it depends on what you like.

But someone I worked with believes in working at your own pace. Infact he recommends we work from home and give us task to accomplish within a period of time. I advice we learn to work smart and get good skills so that we could chose or reject jobs that come our ways.
Sometimes when I look at this hours spent on work and the pay. I just wish one could work from home. Some people usually get separated from there families or loved ones for close to six months or more just for work. But just like u said one should have is other means that can sustain him so that he might reject works that they feel is too demanding
215  Economy / Economics / Re: MONEY IS THE MOTIVATING FACTOR, what do you think? on: September 02, 2022, 07:45:16 PM
I think motivation behind following money -like a moth following a light- never changes through time. Everyone considers lack of money is why their life is terrible. Although there may be bigger issues with your life that money will never solve. So I agree that is the best buddy, best wife, best pet etc. You can say more. But its never good leader. Think about your own fathers, his affect on you was never determined by money. Emotions are leaded by heart.
I quite agree with your claim. Money has gotten too much value in this generation that even power are easily bought with it. Many things of value are now acousted with money. The funny thing is some people that have bunch of it either feels they don't have enough or rather tired of having too lots of it. The poor on the hand thinks money is the solution to his every problem.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins future is Bright on: August 30, 2022, 03:58:51 PM
From the road map of bitcoin and the success so far You will know it is destined for success. The first scary thing about bitcoin is its acceptance and that already is taken care of, because according to Binance, one Billion people use crypto worldwide. With bitcoin been the root of it, then we can all agree that the future is bright
217  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Tips to maintain your mining equipment. on: August 30, 2022, 09:23:03 AM
All of these tips are applicable for any type of electronics as well, but you forgot to include one:

- Always keep the miner's temperature to normal operating levels, do not run it while its overheating because that will damage parts inside the miner.

This is especially true to miners because they are overclocked all the time so have a higher rate of failure.
This is definitely the most important tip to mention but has mentioned it, allowing the machine to cool down from heat feels like losing money to miners. But definitely it's the loss one has to undergo to save the mining equipments.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eredivisie 22/23 - discussion thread on: August 29, 2022, 03:34:01 PM
This is a club record fee for Ajax after selling Frenkie de Jong for 86 million. It is the second biggest signing for Manchester United as well after Pogba. However we all know what happened to Pogba at the end of the day. We will see if this Antony story will have a happy ending for the team.
As man United fan I hope this move comes good for him. Anthony has everything to excel in that United team but we all know how difficult premier league is. And comparing Pogba to Anthony shouldn't be discussed, Anthony is going to play for a manger that understands him, whereas Pogba's case was totally different
219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 29, 2022, 03:22:39 PM
Yes it will show how quality they really are. Bayern Munich will be the ideal opponent for Union Berlin to test how strong they are in the Bundesliga this season. I myself predict that this will probably be a Bayern Munich win, but if Union can play well they will get a draw. I think if to win the game it is difficult for Union Berlin.
This is the perfect match to test union Berlin's resilience this season. They have come back to get many points, everybody thought awoniyi's departure will have a great impact on them but new signing Sebatchure has filled that role well. If they get a point against Bayern Munich then they might be the joker of the season
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Justin Bons baseless criticisms on: August 29, 2022, 02:49:03 PM

I'm not that much knowledgeable in how Twitter works, but I wonder why isn't it reported for spreading fake information. Wasn't social media fighting (or pretending to do so) against fake news?
I think many people need to report the tweet and then it might get deleted. But since Elon Musk acquisition of twitter there have been few changes I don't know maybe this procedure still works though
