201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's stupidity to have thousands in Bitcoin using a software wallet on: February 22, 2024, 11:15:24 AM
If anyone is comfortable storing hundreds of thousands worth of Bitcoin in a software wallet like Electrum then it's their problem, I can't ever imagine having this much money on such app wallet, I won't be able to sleep at night.

Some people have stored hundreds of Bitcoin in a crypto mobile wallet for years and nothing bad happened to their assets but that doesn't mean yours will be safe, I get what this OP is saying, it's just some precaution advice.

Electrum wallet is not a airgapped BTC wallet, running it on your smartphones means it's always online, every time, and I have read so many times why this is not a good idea, I mean offline wallet are supposed to be the best.
202  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Start preparing for the next bear run. on: February 22, 2024, 10:05:39 AM
It's still not too late to keep buying some amount of Bitcoin right now, I mean we are not even past halving yet, and we know what always happen after the halving season is over, a few months after the real long waited rally will start, we aren't there yet and it's not wrong to keep dollar cost averaging.

I know this is not the best time to buy like 2022 and 2023 but it's not too late either, with DCA you are in safe hands, before the halving takes place we can still go lower and there won't be any worries if you are using DCA strategy to invest.

The best time to start preparing for the bear market is after the BTC halving, while you are seeing the all time high and you are taking some profits, this is also the best time to get ready for the next leg down.
203  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don’t play gambling with drugs or in half sleep on: February 22, 2024, 09:03:02 AM
I don't do drugs and I don't need to do it for gambling and risk taking purposes, it is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, if drugs can make me a better soldier in front of many enemies on the battle field, maybe I could consider if it will make me 5x stronger, just to stay alive, but what about side effects?

Yet we are having this drug discussion on gambling, I see no single reason why you should, could have been different if the drug will make me see the outcome of the risk I am about to take before I proceed, so that I can change the game before it happen, then it's a better reason to take drugs before gambling, but what you are saying is about enduring the pain and emotions that comes with gambling, taking drugs because of this is foolish.

I am not a drug user of any kind and I don't even drink too, so I am always in my right mind before I gamble, you can't cheat your way with gambling, many did and they got their accounts banned and some who can't walk away pretend as if they did nothing wrong, gambling is not a source of making income, it is all about you getting the bad luck most I'm of the times and fee good lucks.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wednesday had been my bad day to gamble. on: February 21, 2024, 01:03:26 PM
You have no idea, every decision we make some something to do with us, you need to know and understand who you are, there are some things you shouldn't be doing because it's YOU, we are born through a woman and we are all humans, but we are not all the same.

If Wednesdays are bad day for you, then write it down, don't do things on Wednesdays, be cautious of yourself and the decisions you make, some people don't give a fuck what they do in their lives, and it's why they don't grow, they killed their awareness, something that's not to be joke with.

I am from Africa and these things aren't new to me, the days we choose to do things are very important, that's why the older men in my country have a different names for Mondays - Sundays, I have a very bad month in a year, I have studied this since I was young, every year something bad always happen in that month, to me actually, and I am now always avoiding that month, I don't carry out any plan on such month, I always lay low until the month goes away.
205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Couple won the jackpot but split soon after! on: February 21, 2024, 11:29:17 AM
There are many couples like them, it's like not having money is what keeps them together, like this was how things was supposed to be, but when money comes it will divide them for different reasons, greed, jealousy, etc.

I don't like coming between a couple, don't even try to find who is faulty because you will never know, it can be the man himself or the woman, lack of evidence have buried many cases like this in the past.

Kudos to those getting married today, it's risky, even if you believe that you know them very well, trust me, you don't, be prayerful and hope for the best, the youngsters of nowadays are smarter, many of them choose not to get married, and the reasons are valid points, you need lots of luck to meet the right person for you.
206  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why it's wrong to save vital information on your phone. on: February 21, 2024, 10:11:51 AM
What information can I stored on my phone that nobody must not see? None...

If my phone get lost right now, they need to unlock with finger print, if they can't then they have to use other technical means to unlock the phone, like erasing and formatting the whole thing, which means there will be loss of data information.

Let's say miraculously they unlock the phone, I don't store any crypto on my phone, I have them stored in a hardware wallet, they can have access to my crypto exchange accounts since browsers are saving passwords and others but the accounts are always empty, I don't keep money on any account using my phone.

Bank account? They will have to deal with three questions before they get access, and to move funds out they will have to deal with transaction key too, it's going to be extremely hard, though I don't keep money in the bank but they aren't getting nothing, I will just have to open new account for crypto exchanges and block the bank account on my phone, even three trails with questions been asked will automatically block the account.
207  Economy / Speculation / Re: Capitalise on Bitcoin Bull Run on: February 21, 2024, 09:23:38 AM
Bear market is always the best time to start accumulating bitcoin, but right now we are already in a stage 2 bull market already, after the halving the stage 3 will begin which will be the final massive pump for Bitcoin, I think the lower price of Bitcoin was $15,800, it was a golden opportunity at the time and many people failed to get in because they believe we are going lower, they should have just use DCA method instead.

Some corrections will happen, that's normal but the bottom for Bitcoin is already gone now, the next best buying opportunity will come in 2026, mind you, stop chasing the bottom, instead, trust and start using DCA method rather than trying to figure out what the bottom will be.

Don't follow the audience, when Bitcoin dump massively like the FTX saga, it's a calling to buy some Bitcoin, I hope many people have already learn their lessons again in this market, avoid what people are telling you, the opposite of what they say will always happen.
208  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you feel excited while gambling on: February 21, 2024, 08:51:51 AM
I feel excited when the game is entertaining, that's why excitement is normally in sports games, it is not even about gambling, when an important match is coming the excitement is always there, with bets or not bets.

If you are gambling and you are not happy you should do something else, I am guessing that the absence of making money like many gamblers hoped for is what determine their happiness, where as, gambling isn't a way of making money that's why you should not see gambling like one.

You are to gamble with what you can afford to lose, it's always possible that you will lose the amount, if you are looking forward to make money, start a business, learn a skill that will bring you money, start learning how to grow with this, it's more healthier and also more dependant than hoping to make money in gambling.
209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: February 20, 2024, 12:04:05 PM
This have happened around me, and I have been called to intervene in few cases like this, here is what I have noticed to be most accurate about young gamblers.

1. When money is missing at home and a gambler is withing the mist of his people, there is a big chances that he is responsible for the money that was missing.

2. They will never come to light that they are the one stealing the money, unless you catch them in the act.

3. A young gambler who has no job and yet he keeps gambling, it's a alarming, you need to call on him and derive some truth from them..

They are always good at lying, and most I've seen are influenced by friend around them, funny thing is their academy will be poor in school, the first thing to do is get in touch with the teachers in school, many things could be revealed.
210  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Choose Your Best Hardware Wallet and Why on: February 20, 2024, 11:01:11 AM
Trezor hardware wallet is fully open- source and Ledger is also a fully closed source, this is why Trezor is better than Ledger, but Ledger isn't responsible for the loss of funds from their users in the past year.

If the case of Ledger was software update that was available on their official website and people start to update their hardware wallet and money aka assets start missing it's another thing.

Those who lost assets fell for a different scheme, like downloading of software update from somewhere else, e.g fake email that's been sent to them pretending to be from Ledger Company itself.

Fake giveaways from scammers requesting users to import their Ledger seed to claim the giveaways, how is this Ledger's fault? It's on the people not Ledger and till today people are still using Ledger, the only reason why I won't use is because it's Closed - Source.

Open source hardware wallet are better, more transparent and to me, more reliable.
211  Economy / Economics / Re: Save money today so money would save you tomorrow. on: February 20, 2024, 10:19:08 AM
There are too many bad advice that people like sharing to other people, you should invest your money today is that you will save yourself tomorrow, savings won't safe you tomorrow, because the amount you saved is still the exact amount you save.

There was a time where people are advising people to start saving, now the currency of my country is losing value faster, not only are they getting the amount they saved, but the value isn't there anymore, it's a bigger loss for them.

It's good to save money, but depending on what the economy will look like tomorrow, your saved money might not help you in anyway that you thought it would, when you have income problem, don't solve with savings, find how you will have better income stream and instead of focusing on savings, it's better to start investing.
212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Escape Debt with Gambling: A Dangerous Cycle on: February 20, 2024, 09:41:39 AM
This doesn't look good, it's like trying to escape from a problem to a even bigger problem, it's like saying that you can kill fire with fire, it won't work,  funny thing is if such person keeps failing and failing, they will change totally and become something different entirely.

They will become enraged and they will be consumed by anger/frustration, they will start seeing themselves as nothing, to even go back to work or start working on their lives will be one of the hardest thing to do.

It's not all friends that are capable of revealing their true plans, they can come for money and you won't know that they plan to use the money for gambling, it's better to help with what you can afford to lose, some money you lend out isn't coming back, like my mother used to say, only lend someone the amount you won't be pained if they fail to pay you back.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling sites including unsolicited games in betslips to ensure it fails on: February 20, 2024, 08:14:34 AM
I am sure it's one of those local online betting websites, correct me if I am wrong, but honestly why is he still using such platform to place his bets? That's not a reliable online casino, he should stop using the platform already.

And since you yourself is a member of this forum, why not introduce him to few reliable casinos on this forum? It's very easy to avoid cheats from online casinos this days, just abandon them for a better one.

I know a brother who is into sports bets and he use local platform online to place his bets, he have never encounter something like this before, and he have been using few platforms since 2019 and till now this claim of yours is surprising, it shows that the platform is operated by scammers pretending to be truthful with their customers.
214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos team identity on: February 19, 2024, 11:02:40 AM
There will never come a day where casinos will have to pass any form of KYC because they have gotten their pass already, to start running the business by the government, that's all, they don't need to prove anything to their customers again.

Good customer service and good rep is enough, I would use any casino that have these two, most are not perfect but these are the most important for me, good reputation consist of fast deposits and withdraw at any given time, and others.

It's the customers that want to use the online casino that need to pass KYC not the team, I don't need to explain why we need to pass KYC again and again, but the team are free, customers only need to choose a licensed casino for their gambling activities and they are good.
215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler lost what he couldn't afford to lost and broke his TV after game Lost on: February 19, 2024, 10:17:58 AM
I have seen someone who broke his PlayStation 5 because he lost a soccer match to a friend, they bet with just $20 and he was known to be a fifa genius, I think it's emotional in this case but when money is involved then anger will likely follow.

I am just trying to say that people have confidence over something they shouldn't have developed confidence for, gaming and gambling will remain games of luck, you really can't say, even if it's player vs player contest, you can't tell what will happen even if you are a professional in your own world, remember that some people are also as good as you are or even better than you are.

There is nothing that's better than the feeling of satisfaction in everything you lay your hands on, lack of satisfaction is why people take high risks in gambling, for me any win is a good win, that's why I am satisfied with whatever I get from gambling.
216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much Did you like this forum on: February 19, 2024, 09:44:48 AM
This forum is a like a living crypto encyclopedia, a must have for every beginners and old crypto fans, sometimes I thought to myself why it took me so long to know about the forum but here I am today, I like reading a lot more on here than typing, that's if the topic is worth reading through and through.

I have made a lot of mistakes due to lack of my own knowledge about crypto and if I have get to know this forum from the beginning I would have learnt a lot and I wi be able to avoid some traps that I fell for so easily.

Now I will rather tell someone to come on this forum for any crypto related questions they have instead of sitting them down and starting to lecture them, I believe that everything a newbie need to know about crypto and Bitcoin is on this forum.
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No essence in convincing anyone into Bitcoin ind. nor the Bitcointalk platform on: February 19, 2024, 08:39:32 AM
I support both sides, there is nothing wrong in introducing this forum to people but at the same time, some people talk as if this forum is paying them for bringing in new people, they took it too far or let's say personal, as if it's a must to bring in new people or else something bad will happen to their forum account.

To even introduce Bitcoin to someone, they must be very close to me, and I must have seen their commitment and desire for Bitcoin, and once I offer them Bitcointalk it's the end of our crypto discussion, everything they will need to know is already available on here, yet some are just time wasters, they won't listen to your advice.

Today, I have stopped telling people about Bitcoin and investments, apart from the fact that it's not safe to do so, some people don't like doing the hard things, they see investment as a longer way to make money, they want quick results.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Buying and Selling of Casino Accounts (Discussion thread) on: February 19, 2024, 07:46:11 AM
The terms and condition of the casino will sooner or later punish you, because most ToS I have seen forbids buying and selling of accounts, they will just wait for you to mess up and they will punish you even if you have money in the account, you may not be able to recover the money ever again.

Also if the account is already KYC'ed that even makes you a stupid person if you but such account, because as soon as you take over, your location will be different, and if they block your account due to strange activities how will you defend yourself when they ask you for proof of ownership?

My advice is avoid such nonsense, if you want to build a casino account so as to get some levels and offers then do it yourself, stop creating chances for problems to yourself in the future, I have never had any problem with any online casinos and I meant to keep it that way.
219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why in some religion gambling is forbidden? on: February 18, 2024, 12:04:42 PM
Be thankful that even Allah forbids gambling, he knows the disasters that awaits his people and the only choice left is to forbid it, you think he is wrong? Look around the world today, gambling have ruined so many lives than you can imagine.

In my country, it's been revealed that every year, gamblers waste over 460 million dollars on gambling alone, and the funny thing is only few numbers of people won the jackpot and change their own stories for the best, when religion forbids something it's on you to use your senses to figure out why, Christianity and Islam are not cult religion, they have good purpose for we humans.

There are so many examples of crumbled families in my country because they are gamblers, if they obey the words in the Quran and Bible they might have stayed away from gambling, it's why I don't choose to encourage anyone to gamble, I know myself and I understand my capability, I am responsible for my decisions and I take them very seriously, this is why I always escape from the traps of been a gambler.
220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why mega threads always be kept open on: February 18, 2024, 10:53:13 AM
It's left for the topic creator to decide to lock down the thread, I've come across few and I replied with the necessary reason to close the thread because all questions have been answered and the new readers are all giving the same exact answers as those in the first few pages have said.

There are so many members on this forum that are into gambling, or maybe a casino promoter, they will see the need to reply their own thoughts to a thread even if it has 30 pages or more, but it only start to look stupid if there is nothing more to share, when answers or replies start looking the same it feels boring.

My advice, just look else where if you come across such thread, highest, you won't drop your own thought in such thread, or maybe PM the OP to make them see reasons why they need to close and lock the thread, and maybe they will listen and do it or not is left to them.
