201  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Social media account as KYC requirement? (2) on: May 19, 2024, 01:55:41 PM
I honestly don't understand where the regulations that are emerging now in Nigeria is coming from. How does one's social media handle serve as a standard know -your- costumer policy, when we know how the rate of scams and hacks happen on social media.
Took a deep thought after reading about the whole article and it all made nonsense to me other than that this is just one of many other mechanisms in place by this serving (more of a ruling) administration to sensor and gag Nigerians from boldly criticizing the scattered limitations and deficiencies of their administrative policy through the use of the social media which has been the main channel through which we expose them to outsiders who the government media is deceiving by feeding wrong information about the country.

Since a lot of Nigerians don't use their real names in opening social media accounts it makes it difficult for the government to decode who is really behind a certain social media accounts that is constantly criticizing their unproductive policies and programs, so by connecting people's social media account to their bank account through KYC requirement it makes it easier to decipher through the bank accounts who's really behind a particular social media account.

Another means to enroll fear of attack into the citizens, but am sure this move won't work because, it goes against individual right to privacy and, it's impracticable on other hand been that social media is a community that is prone to scam attacks which is not something that is safe practices by linking our social media account with our bank accounts.

202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concerns grow over online gambling among teens on: May 18, 2024, 09:15:03 PM
, in the school halls, they can already overhear teens checking odds and their parlays like it's the most casual thing to do in the campus. This is due to the gambling apps easily downloaded by anyone.
It's not really about the  how ease it is to download the gambling apps even if they put some hurdles any interested person in gamble will find his/her way at all cost. One thing that I see that is attracting more and more teens to gambling in our society today is due to their high consciousness and awareness about money and this makes them keen to easily get interested to engage into anything that promises to offer money, and that's what gambling does, it makes you believe you could seamlessly make some cash from it with just sheer predictions and catching fun.

Maybe when parents and every other person start shaping a different mentality into  their child and wards about how they perceive money they will be guided against getting involved in just anything just to make money.

We have been so crafted to believe that money is just everything nowadays, so how do we not expect the teens not to get involved in gambling growing up with these ideas. To gamble you don't need any qualifications, skills, experience neither will you go through any interview, and this makes it a great option for nay teen looking for money to take his or her chances in order to get that bicycle or video game he or she needs.

And would you agree with him in implementing gambling prevention education in schools?
Implementing a gambling prevention education won't make that sort of positive change as many will be thinking it to achieve. The truth is that morals and ethics are quickly depleting among many things we teach our kids these days, and this makes them unable to know the boundary between adult activities from those of kids. They just literally want to try everything they can lay hands on.
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which do you think is the right Name to use? on: May 18, 2024, 05:36:41 PM
Having gotten used to the word bitcoiner overtime, the word bitcoinist sounds strange to my hearing even though the
ist makes some sense as found in other conventional words.

Perhaps as we progress and bitcoin gains more larger acceptance even into the academic community to be studied as a discipline or field with different scopes (in theory and technical), we will be addressing academicians that study bitcoin to specialized in bitcoin as bitcoinist.

In as much as for now bitcoin is not studied as a an accredited course in schools (am open to correction if its already has),  I think it's fair  stick to the word bitcoiners as users instead of bitcoinist as one who specializes in the study as a profession.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 18, 2024, 03:01:39 PM
What Arsenal need now is a strong squad depth that can make the team very solid. They already have first teams players who can win any team in the premier league, like this season, there is a very massive improvement because last season, they weren't able to win City, but this season they won City in the first leg,and the second leg was a draw,to tell you that Arteta have raised the mentality level of these boys to a certain level.I am happy for them for what they've been able to do so far, whether they win trophies or not, even if I'm not a fan of them.,they tried to be able to push City to this extent.
If they can just go out and sign more three quality signings,I think Arsenal will fly more.
Yes, Arsenal needs that to support Arsenal's performance next season when competing again in the title race. In fact, right now, Arsenal already has players who are quite strong but lack the motivation to become champions, unlike Man City players who always want to be champions, they have this mentality. quite a strong player, I think Arteta's coaching at Arsenal this season is quite good. Arsenal are actually able to beat Man City, but what makes it difficult for Arsenal so far is when they face a club that has appeared surprising.

I think Arteta doesn't need to recruit a lot of players and only recruit players who he feels are really needed. Arsenal's attack system is quite good. Arteta just needs to improve Arsenal's performance so that they appear more consistent like Man City. Arteta is a pretty great coach in building a club like Even though Arsenal has not been able to win the EPL title, one day Arsenal will get it if they don't give up for the next season.
If Arsenal can just a player that is in good in scoring several goals in every game winning the premier league won't be any difficult problem for them. Arsenal performance is good no doubt but having that good player that can score goals will help them to secure the tittle of the league.  For arsenal to win the league they need to do something about the team that will match the standard of Manchester City. Arsenal just need few experience players join to the players they have, with this things it won't be that difficult for them and they do not need to struggle with Manchester City.  Manchester city has the best squad that is why they found it very easy to win the league. If what are arsenal have can't be compare to what Manchester City then it won't be easy for arsenal.
Bringing in new players to the Arsenal squad to me won't change much a thing in results at the end of the next season,  as that's not really what  Arsenal main problem to winning the league holds. Reminiscing on the previous season and this very season how Arsenal performed from start to finish I discovered much similarities in both season's leaving them to a second place on the table with Manchester City coming from behind at the eleventh hour to whisk the trophy away.

Arsenal players are no doubt outstanding and incredible but they are deficient of what I call "a long standing winning mentality", among the squad. What Mikel Arteta ought to do against next season is to see how he can work on the mentality of his boys about endurance with every  each player understanding what it means by carrying the team on your shoulder.  That's the mentality with which Gardiola has refined in his boys, that when they play they play like a team that's aggressively hungry for victory even with or without their key players presence.

With the absence of key players like Kelvin Debruyne and Haaland as a result of injuries, yet Manchester City kept on raking points with Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva manning the ship like nothing happened. Also just compare the passion of both team:s coaches in games how they do react in every moments on the field, you will see the mentality of the coach reflecting in the players.
205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My favorite loser on: May 18, 2024, 11:52:04 AM
Do you also have any favorite losers to bet against for profit?
That was Chelsea, though I won't denote them to be a favourite losing team for me but in this just about to be concluded EPL season Chelsea was one of those team's I find ease to bet against in the beginning and some parts of the mid season in the EPL, cause they had a very poor start and it was as though they've already lost a match before it begun, but thanks to the improvement they have recorded recently.

In the case of Mr Tsitsipas it is what any gambler will be more than glad to take advantage of in getting a bet win as nobody really loves losing their bets even under fun. I am beginning to have the hunch that sports men with attitudinal problems finds difficulty in reaching to the top of their games in all competitions in their career. Not that they lack the connoisseur needed to excel excellently in that field but they for no just unexplainable reason struggle to reach the peak.

Maybe, Mr Tsitsipas needs to see this op about him here and make some redresses to his lifestyle as I would be more than glad to see him succeed beyond his standing records, because from what have read about him he's a fine tennis player.
206  Other / Off-topic / Re: In the EPL, vote against VAR. on: May 18, 2024, 10:27:58 AM
VAR is just a technologic machine and doesn't act on its own according, it's rather humans that controls how they want it to work as at when they want and there could be some form of bias based on different interests of those in control.

Maybe I will say the idea to incorporate VAR into the EPL for a smoothie fair games wasn't bad, the problem is that those behind the curtain are introducing biases into the VAR decisions and that's what is sparking the revolt for the scrap by those that it doesn't favour.

In my opinion, let VAR be scrapped from the EPL and let have the football games as it were , cause the VAR referees have just changed the landscape, only allow us to see what they want us the fans to see when they want to make decision in many cases case, that wasn't how football games were.

208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the biggest bet you ever won? Did you withdraw or lose it? on: May 17, 2024, 03:11:09 PM
I want to know what the biggest win you guys ever won is and if you actually put it towards something useful and didn't just gamble it away like me. Undecided Could be a house, car, school! Smiley
Have been gambling for quite a long time now and had made numerous wins which right now can't recall my biggest win of them all, but I do have the attitude of getting myself something nice each time I win a bet not minding how small or big the amount won I make sure I gift myself an item or use that money to meet a need.

Hopefully this post is helpful in some way. If you have won a lot, please withdraw!!! Also don't rely on sports betting or casino to fund important stuff like school, you'll regret it like me! Smiley
I remember you from the last post and from the advice we gave to you. Now you regret your actions because you lost. Would you still have regrets if you had won? I do not think so.
People will often celebrate and jump for joy when there stupid action luckily materialize in their favour against refusing to accept great advise. They only get to realize that their action was stupid only when it fails and backfire at them. Definitely, you're in the right, she won't have regretted her act if she had won.

Am excited to participate in this pizza contest. For me, it's a privilege.

The ingredients used includes:
1. Irish potatoes
2. Eggs
3. Fresh tomatoes
4. Fresh red pepper
5. Green-ball pepper
6. White onions
7. Vegetable oil
8. Salt.

Procedure for preparation of my bitcoin pizza:
Started by peeling and slicing the Irish potatoes in small sizes, fried for it to get softened then followed with mashing it a beat. Removed it from the pan into a bowl (allowed it to cool off a bit) then I added my eggs, onion, red pepper, tomatoes, a pinch of salt then  steer till it all get mixed.

Poured it back to the pan to bake for a few minutes after which I had to slice some tomatoes and green-ball pepper for decoration of the surface. The BTC logo design was done using green-ball pepper.
It was really fascinating for me throughout the process.

210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Casino Community Service Possible? on: May 17, 2024, 01:35:42 PM
This depends mostly on the owner mindset and most owners of reputable casinos do not care much for community service from what I have seen up until now. They only like to fatten their pockets and fortune and as long as they achieve it they are OK with such achievement.I know that if these types of such casinos get to bring something else beside taxes to the government to the community as they surely can afford to do it,would be great for that community.
From how I see it on the other side of this, these casinos are not obliged to the community to render them some community services on the premise that they do pay regular taxes to the government the government can always take care of those community affairs. It is business and if they don't make sure to getting their pockets fattening they'll surely run out of business (competition). However, any casino that wish to commit itself to it can go on but it's shouldn't be something that should be used to discredit those not doing it.

I don't even subscribe to the idea of casinos carrying out community services because, that could be another form or avenue of advertisement attracting the indulgence of people that had never concerned themselves with anything gamble.  If casinos start doing this it can lead to a drastic increment in the number of gamblers in the society.
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does destiny has influence in the amount we can win in gamble? on: May 16, 2024, 10:05:13 PM
Even though I don't feel comfortable attaching so much spirituality to gambling, it is still possible that some people are just naturally lucky that they win effortlessly.  I don't know if this has anything to do with their destiny or not and if it does, then it is possible that their could be some spiritual max they could win.

I  quit disagree with people attaching spirituality to gamble because from what I have known about these spiritual or fetish means people adopt to impel their winning chances didn't/doesn't work. For the ones I have seen for myself it failed them wholly.

However, I wouldn't want to accept that destiny play a part in gambling, I can't just fathom how this will be possible. I have to see what others have to say, so I can learn. If it is, there is no way an individual can verify his stance.
You don't have to accept if you don't want to but I am however on the side of destiny because it has to do with the natural in determining how outcomes outplay in people's life without the people themselves having to maneuver the situation. Like I earlier noted that it's just a hypothesis for now even though somehow it sounds logical to an extend.

If we  do agree for instance, that if a person is destined to be a great man in the future, he will undeniably become should he work hard towards it. If that's the case then, why can't same principle about destiny as we believe also be applied in gambling  fo someone who might  have been destined to  win some life changing bucks through gambling.
212  Economy / Speculation / Re: How short-term market speculations can help small bitcoin holders on: May 16, 2024, 09:19:42 PM
He bought bitcoin when the price touched $60k some days ago with a capital of $600 bought bitcoin and when the market price increased to 66k just within days, he made a trade to take the profits which for him was an exciting results and excellent one at that, so I thought sharing his experience here will give us more avenue to discuss some other possibilities as he continue holding and expecting more profits.
Oh really! He made a trade to withdraw his first profit of just 57$. Bravo!

If I may ask you op, did he told you about taking the profit at this premature stage of his investment  before going ahead or he didn't? If it happens that he did and you didn't encourage him to be patient for the bigger profit ahead then you probably didn't do him any much good.

He may not know about this right now as he is excited about taking profit for now and if he continues that way with every little rise in bitcoin price then, in the long run when he gets to know the much benefit therein in holding for long, he might definitely not be happy with the decision you didn't discourage him from making today.

So unfortunate that newbie investors be taking evey little profit made at each bitcoin price rise when they ought to be buying and stacking (DCAing) for the bountiful harvest to come.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Does destiny has influence in the amount we can win in gamble? on: May 16, 2024, 08:53:27 PM
I was just having this thought just within myself (more of an opinion) about some comments have read in the gambling board and complains from gamblers outside the forum, that ever since they have been gambling they have never won a bet amounting to a thousand dollars for it has always been below, while some others say that no matter how much high or low amount they have constantly be using to stake in order to win millions it has never favoured them that it has only been a few thousand bucks they had been lucky to win.

But then, I also find out that there are people that will just start gambling for a short time and boom they have won a jackpot in millions when people that have been there years before them are struggling to win even thousands.

And this makes me to come to a hypothetical conclusion that in gambling each and every person is individually destiny to within the range of certain amount of win. And that if you are not destined to win the high amount you are after, you will never be able to no matter how much you use or the strategy you apply to your bets.

Not to bore us with many words... I want to ask to know about forum members opinions and views about this. Is it what it is or it's just a fallacy?
214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your slices Luck that would have made you millionaire in gambling? on: May 16, 2024, 08:27:33 PM
I've come across this several times but most times I feel maybe I've enemies, fighting me not to survive in life but i noticed that it's a game of luck. First one day I predict a game earlier this week the odds were perfect for it to enter. My games were going so well i stake $1000 then total refunds it was about $10,000 i kept on praying in my mind, it was just one game for me remaining then all of a sudden i fell asleep on the process. While I wake up to check my game the last game ended me up with a cry 😭, i took the risk cause a friend of mine took the same risk now he his a millionaire because of one slice luck made him who he his today. And what I understand is that if you really want to be a millionaire through gambling, you only have to increase in your amount that you stake the higher the amount the richer you can in a minutes. I don't know for yours, what's yours?
If you carry carry out an interview asking persons that were turned millionaires through some they bet won or jackpot, almost all of them will tell you they never expected it, neither did they had to use high stakes to have been able to win such millions. But that it was all just about luck unexpectedly.

Op what you have to know is that your high stakes won't bring you wins because it's not guaranteed to, and also there's no form of spiritual powers attached to casinos that is the reason for any gamblers' loss in a bet, it's a game of fortune and it's either you get lucky that fortune smiles at you or goes against you.
215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 16, 2024, 06:50:22 PM

Im not feeling surprised since allegri gave no impact to the juventus. Motta has been showing impressive performance on bologna and this makes juventus interested to recruit him as a new coach. This is also gonna help the club a lot in improving the performance from the club for the upcoming season.
Things are not even going so well for juventus under allegri. It;s time for juventus to replace its coach. Motta may be fit to the old lady. I do like the way he was managing bologna. Even thought this will be another gamble for juventus but im seeing it really worty to try.

Allegri is nothing for juventus. The club is now seeking for a new face to handle the club properly rather than the old ones. Im hoping old lady will not get another shit season like this time.
That's enough to see the old lady played inconsistently in any game. Im hoping a better improvement to happen with juventus.
When I saw this, I felt an indifferent feeling about Thiago Motta being link to this Juventus job because in as much as Juventus are showing much interest in a acquiring his service, the feeling am just having about it is just indifferent.

The indifferent feeling am having about it is that, moving to Juventus is a massive achievement for his coaching career, and it's a massive step forward, but my worry is that,  will Juventus be able to support him financially in the summer transfer window? Because it's very important that he comes into the club with his own player that he actually believed in, and will they be patient enough with him, if the results are not coming as quickly as expected? Because every coach need time to pass his message across to his players for expected results to start coming. .
216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 16, 2024, 07:21:33 AM
Yeah it seems  Chelsea is having a better ending of a season looking at how they moved from 11th position to now occupying the 6th position with 60 points.  They had won straight four game, an improved performance that Chelsea is making right now only illustrates that the players have started blending and also having a good flow of communication among themselves.  I think they are going to be a team to beat next season as they will definitely be competing in the top four  which is something most of us will want to see next EPL season.
Obviously, when looking at how Chelsea football team started poorly this season, it would be hard for anyone to think that Chelsea would be finishing 6th and ahead of  Manchester united in league table, Well despite all the ugly performances this season, they won't be finishing in a very bad position at the end,  And I hope Pochettino will be able to fix up things with Chelsea come next season and bring back Chelsea to its glory we hope for.
I think the future of Chelsea is bright with Pochettino if he's patiently given the opportunity to stay for more seasons, he has managed to build the confidence of these players in the premier league just in a season and despite injuries faced by some key players of the team it didn't deter them from moving up the table.

What I will like to see Pochi do is to get a calculative and strong standing defender with experience to replace the space of Thiago Silva as he depart the club at the end of this season. They already have a fine midfielder and attacking front, all they have to do is put in more work to be in the best of form's next season.
217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 15, 2024, 10:01:45 PM
Chelsea has the opportunity to get a place in the conference league but Chelsea have to wait for Newcastle to lose or draw.
Chelsea have just finish the first half of the match, and they are already winning the match. Chelsea played well in the first half of the match, even though they could only score 1 goal in the first half, and I am still expecting them to score more goals in the second half of the match. Chelsea are already ahead of Newcastle because they are currently losing to Manchester United, so Chelsea has taken over Newcastle's position on the table. If Chelsea can maintain their current goal lead and Manchester United can also beat Newcastle in today’s match, then Chelsea should be qualifying for the conference league.

And now the match has entered the 83rd minute and the score remains ahead for Chelsea, namely 0-2. And now it looks like Chelsea will be able to move up to 6th place. Because Newcastle is also 1 goal behind because the score of the Man United vs Newcastle match is 2-1. And I think Pochettino is starting to show good results at Chelsea. If, for example, Chelsea finished in 6th place, that would be quite big progress for this team. because at the end of last season Chelsea only finished in 12th place. But this season, thanks to Pochettino, it looks like Chelsea can find hope again. Even though many doubted Pochettino, we can see the results now.

A wonderful performance from Manchester united who managed to win their match today after several weeks.
Tonight Manchester united spirit was really high that they had to submerge Newcastle even to the advantage of their rival Chelsea who are at the brink of qualifying for the European league.

Honestly, Ten Hag needs to consider giving Amad  Diallo more chance as he had many times made so much impact in each game he olayed, the boy is always on fire in all games better than Anthony. I don't know if Manchester united fans has observed this too.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Naturally Chase loses in gambling.. on: May 15, 2024, 09:06:10 PM
Chasing after loss happens as a result of the gambler failing to accept his losses, in otherwise, he or she fails or refuses to accepting being defeated. So they feel they can salvage something from not giving up at it. In consideration for me, I think this whole thing about loss chasing has a lot to do with discipline level of the gambler. So they do this not knowing until they are totally emptied with nothing more to stake with.

I guess people that go chasing for a recovery after some losses has been incurred, are gamblers that are without a deliberate bankroll limit, so they just gamble money beyond what they can afford to let go which is why they get bittered and pained thinking how can they actually walk away without trying more in getting it back.

It's proper that gamblers acknowledge the reality that losses are a related part of gamble, and it's for the good of the gambler that he/she accepts losses and walk off when it get to us (instead of chasing), just in same manner we accept wins when they happens. No gambler is immune to gamble loss.

219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: May 15, 2024, 12:59:53 PM
There have been many cases like that where people misuse other people's money for their own interests, for example gambling with the money in the hope that they can multiply the money and make themselves rich. Gambling using other people's money is a very stupid act, because gambling is uncertain when you win or lose, and you will most likely lose, so gambling using money you shouldn't gamble with is very risky and should be avoided.
It is not in all the cases that the people claim to have used those money for gambling that is actually the truth as they declare. Some may not have even used it to gamble, it could be that they have used it to acquire a property for themself or gave it out as loan to later get an interest profit after it's returned. Hence they claim to have used it to gamble and lost it, they assume that the case will not escalate beyond what it should if the money is said to have been used for something else profitable.

I witnessed a case in my former estate where a certain man in the estate had to use his association money that members contributed under his care to sponsor his two children to school abroad. Something he alleged to have lost the money to gambling he played within the period the money was contributed to him. It was a preliminary investigation after police was involved in the case that revealed what he actually used the money for. Humans can be very cunning.

I am someone that's very frugal  with exhausting money at a go, and I can say it vividly, martingale strategy in gambling is not for the low budget gamblers and maybe when we all know this we will know peace and stick to the lane that will be favourable with our budget while we tend to be consistent with it.

The few weeks I incorporated the martingale strategy for the first time into my gambling just to test how profitable it could be, I lost more than I could imagine and I concluded that it's not a strategy for a low budget gambler like me. It's a strategy that if you are not cautious with it can drive you into loss chasing without you knowing because, It's a strategy that demands you still  be consistent even under a streaks of losses...  how possible is that?
