201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: March 23, 2024, 05:20:16 AM
The match between Manchester city and Real Madrid is really an unpredictable game to me ,both teams are in their current forms, and when considering the strength of the team, the quality of players in there and the category of managers involved in the team too, they are both experienced coaches when it comes to the Champions league competition ,Therefore, to me, this game is a matter of who utilizes their opportunity well will become victors in that game.

I agree that this match is unpredictable, but above all I think that Real Madrid is an extremely unpredictable team in this tournament. I mean, even if Manchester City had been the better team recently and had come into this match as favorites, Real Madrid could have pulled off a surprise in this match. Real Madrid has a different identity in this tournament and they are very dominant. I'm sure we will see a good match.
The managers managing this two teams respectively are in my view notorious for surprises and you just can't predict their next move before a game or even in the middle of the game they go on experimenting and applying different tactics till they get one which is giving the results they are expecting against the opponent. I would have loved to see this draws in the semi-final round as to me it's coming much early making the timing harder to predict in favour of which team the end result will be for. I'll have to skip this particular game off my books only to sit back and enjoy the two best quality and entertaining football team's of the time fill me with fun and suspense.
202  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you won a bet with your last cash? on: March 23, 2024, 05:04:03 AM
Yeah, I have actually won a bet using my last cash back then in those days I was given betting much of my time, yeah, the feeling is so different from the other normal winning, and always looks like all the lost hope has come back to you when least expected, it comes with so much excitement like is the first time. It boost confidence and a certain level of fulfilment.
Alright, but would you had felt same way with so much of excitement if you had lost that last cash of yours using it to bet? Of course the answer would be a No. Maybe we should try losing at times with some gambling decisions we  make without recourse so that the consequence could ring a bell in our head that it wasn't worth it. It al starts with little things we regard as nothing for gambling to bigger things and that's when the addiction tension has grown big within us and that's how we see people ready to stake their house, cars and even land in gambling, it all starting from little things.
I've heard stuffs like don't estimate the little beginnings and that is true. Gambling at first is like planting a seed and with time this seed matures and the urge for us to start expecting fruits from it would be even greater. That is the point of addiction when the roots are solid in the ground. However, just lie you can cut off the tree when it does not grow how it was expected to so we can eliminate gambling from our life.
It doesn't take the same ease it took to nurture and mature a gambling addictive attitude to likewise eliminate the addiction when it starts causing you financial and psychological problems. Gambling addiction is easier build than eliminate. The minor standards we take for granted in maintaining a disciplined gambling attitudes could have been the eliminators in that early stage cutting down every tendency of gambling in and with the wrong position's. Ultimately if we couldn't eliminate those addictive gambling attitudes in their immaturity stage we definitely can't do so when they are matured in us except through the service of a professional therapist and with family and friends support.

Op you see that your number 3 points wey you outline e get as e be, nah because you no go expect me sell my own product very cheap because na locally made products then come go buy another person own very high price because them call am foreign product. Imagine where I need to sell 4 gallons for locally made palm oil just the dey able to gather money to buy a n electric blender for fruit juice just because nah foreign product. The equation no match nah. So nah make even the local products the sell high so them fit meet up when them want also buy foreign made products too, the difference for amount no go much.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your worst nightmare in a casino? on: March 22, 2024, 10:32:28 PM
I found out there are gamblers who couldn't access their win money because they lost their bet slip (ticket) that contains the bet code that will signify you're the authentic owner of the won game. That's the kind of worst nightmare I never wish should happen to me or anybody I know of as it could be painful and depressing at the same time. Many stories I have heard of patterning loss of bets lip, this one was that the wife took her husband's clothes for laundry not knowing one of the trousers has a bet ticket inside the pocket and that was how it was washed of and the paper destroyed, but then all those games in the ticket played but the man couldn't lay claims because he has no evidence to tender for ownership. What a night that is!

There are other interesting matches besides City and Madrid... like Barcelona vs PSG... Both clubs have also performed well in previous games... Or Atletico and Dortmund... It seems to me that in these matches there will be no less serious battles... Arsenal are strong now too and I think they will beat Bayern...
Almost all the matches in the quarter-finals were quite interesting, but many people were looking forward to the Manchester City vs Real Madrid match because these two teams were previously predicted or favored to win the title this season, but the drawing brought them together very quickly.

PSG against Barceloan is quite balanced with the strength of the teams not having much difference, making both teams have the same percentage to qualify for the semifinals, the same goes for the Atletico vs Dortmund match.
And I only favor Bayern in the match against Arsena, the rest in other matches all teams still have the same percentage.

I favor Bayern for the reason that they have a much better mentality than Arsenal, and I think they will be quite influential.
I am usually caught up in awe by the perspective at which everyone is viewing the Bayern vs Arsenal tie in this UCL quarter finals draws while presuming all other draws to be of almost equal strength's. And am so sure the reason for this disdain towards Arsenal is as a result of their history with Bayern Munich how the results has always been with a win in favour of Bayern that comes with high goal margin.

Ut if we're to analyze the Bayern of today currently with Arsenal stats in their individual respective league you can will find out arsenal are in better stats than Bayern judging by the competitive  offensiveness of the two leagues. And in the current arsenal under Aretha a lot of agility and physicality have been what this team is built on unlike in the days of Arsene W., So I believe it's going to be a tough game for Bayern and not business as usual.
208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: March 22, 2024, 06:43:45 PM
There was a loss for Xavi because he got 2 yellow cards against Atlhetico Madrid. This allowed Xavi to miss 3 matches. Against Las Palmas, Cadiz and Real Madrid. A disadvantage, because at the moment Barcelona is in improved form. They haven't lost after playing Villareal.
Las Palmas and Cadiz are not tough opponents for Barcelona so I think that Xavi not being able to accompany the team during these two matches will not have a big impact, now Brcelona is in top form with high self-confidence and this will make it easier for them when they meet tough opponents. the quality is still below them.
Xavi will only be able to accompany the team during the E Clasicco, this will be very interesting.
Barcelona by their ranks has no excuse in losing against Las Palmas not Cadiz by virtue of the absence of their coach in any of those games. It is not for team like this that such excuse should be made. So am confident that Barcelona will continue with the winning streaks maintained their position on the Laliga table. Ordinarily coaches absence has a way of affecting players performance and ginger but then for players that understand themselves with good communication flow  on the pitch just the assistance of the coaching crew in the absence of the main coach is enough to give them the needed win particularly when playing with an average team.

Who really cares about who's attacking bitcoin these days, it's just sound one of those many attacks going down bitcoin history which we have seen how they all went off and bitcoin kept waxing stronger with growing value and more adoptions. Imagine the marketcap of bitcoin today compared to the value of it's attacker not sure the know where to spend their money on but from what am seeing just like past attacks this one will pass too.
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A weird interview on: March 21, 2024, 09:00:05 PM
I was recently interviewed on air. The interviewer described my answer to her question as weird. During the interview, something led to the other and I was asked thus;
The interviewer: If you are eventually imprisoned and denied access to internet and communication for 10 year, on regaining freedom what's the first thing you will do?
My answer: I will ask for a mobile phone or a laptop to check the Bitcoin price Grin
She exclaimed that it is weird that I love bitcoin that much. She proceeded to ask if I am sure bitcoin will still be around in 10yrs time and what value will it have.
My answer: Things change alot, 5 years is alot for many things to happen let alone 10 years. However, I believe bitcoin will be around and it might worth between 100k to 300k dollars.

be prepared core devs are already trying to remove legacy key functionality within core. which other wallet that follow core code usually then follow.. so if you disappeared for a decade, expect a headache trying to get wallets of the future from even understanding old key import methods

yep they have for last few years been preparing to remove legacy key import methods and pretend there will be a separate migration tool (eaier to just keep it in core.. but core devs dont care for whats best for users) but funnily enough although preparing to remove legacy key import from core, the irritating narcissist pushing to remove it has not actually built the "separate migration tool" he pretends would be the "promise of backward compatibility"

so be prepared if they are removing legacy soon, expect they will remove other things later..

Thats insane. The seed will be useless in that case. who the hell would allow importing methods to be removed?
So checking the Bitcoin price in prison will be useless. He sure would be hoping to have millions of money after 10 years in prison but finding out he can't import means he is penniless.

Its not weird to ask access to the internet to check the BTC price. Some of us just wake up in the middle of the night just to check BTC price.
10 year is a long time for a lot of developments to set in, In that case it's just to hand over the wallet to a trusted  confidant, there must be someone we can entrust it to  to ensure that the lack of legacy keep import doesn't void you from profiting from your bitcoin after serving your time. Better to risk it to some family member custody of the wallet than  risking knowing that you're coming out penniless.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How old would you be by 2140? on: March 21, 2024, 08:06:17 PM
Tell me, would this earth still be in existence in 2140? Or would we humans probably destroyed it by then? I mean, look at the way the world is going. Well, it doesn’t even matter because there’s only going to be a super little amount of us who could be alive by then. Some of us have already lived half our lives and would be about maybe 140 - 170 years by then. Even for those birthed right now, they’ll be 115 years at that time, and that’s a lot.
Yes the earth will for certain still be in existence only that there will be so much atmospheric changes that will make life on earth based on the environment to be harsh due to huma activities against nature. 115 years is not 115 days so I don't think anyone of us will be alive 115years from now, not even those birthed today. One thing I have set my mind about life is that let me live for today and leave tomorrow for tomorrow people, in that way it's less worries for me about things I can't on my own change  of what tomorrow holds.

Bitwinup, welcome to the forum.

Great to have such a web3 game platform with a p2p gaming that doesn't involved the house against the player but just the players allowing both to test the strength of their skill, that would be so interesting. Am dazzled with your platform interface and designs. Would love to try your service, catch fun and earn too.

At the moment, am impressed with your choice of Manager in the person of @AB de Royse777. It's evidence Bitwinup really mean business in the forum.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer's fan took his own life due to addiction on: March 20, 2024, 11:09:45 PM
In my opinion, all those gambling streamers should be exterminated like the plague.  Most of them earn money by endorsing gambling platforms and streaming games with fake money, drawing in younger susceptible viewers vulnerable to addiction.  This is exactly why Twitch banned gambling livestreams.

If you wanna explain to a 14 year old what fake lifestyle looks like point them to a gambling streamer for they are a perfect example of people living a mirage type of life. And this has really affected negatively the lens of the young people who follow these streamers on social media platforms about gamble, which has ruined them. The government has to call to order the attitude of these streamers because all it appears they care about is the money they making from whatever they chose to stream not putting into consideration the implications to their fans especially those with weak minds.
214  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The 4W every newbie should know, so as to navigate your way easily on: March 20, 2024, 10:40:55 PM
My country people good morning inside this morning, I know say most of us already know this tins but newbie dy sign up for this our naija local board on a daily basis, so I just have to update them how dem fit do things in the crypto industry without troubles.

The 4W of Bitcoin is;
*What
*Why
*When
*Where

* what : In the crypto space, what do you buy? What do you invest in? The only coin to buy and invest in is Bitcoin.

* Why: why you should have a source of income, it's very important that you have a source of income, so that when issue like feeding and rent is at your neck you would not go and temper with your Bitcoin holdings.

* When: when to buy; there is no better time of buying Bitcoin than now, see, we are still in it early days, and the best way to buy is through the DCA method, where you buy it bit by bit, monthly, weekly or daily.

*where:where should it be kept? It's best that we keep it in a self custodian wallet, where the safety of your coin will be in your hands, and the secret phase stored offline.
With the rate wey bitcoin done reach now newbie investors go dey fear to buy sake of say them no go fit make bih profit  but the truth be say you go still make profit and the security of your money sure if you want hodl for plenty years like the next circle wey go come after this one pass. Any thing outside bitcoin as a newbie I no fit advise say make your buy cos the risk e major.

The way Op take analyze the why and when na just the simple truth be that. You no go fit be good long range hodler if you no get reliable source of income  and if you the wait for your own better timing to buy bitcoin you fit end up not buying sef cos the market volatility no be your village people the control am, na market forces.

For any noncustodial wallet you chose to use  make sure say you hide your pass phrase where only you get access into and you fit use metal steel to crest each phrase in their order to protect am from damage wh3n we use paper or any type of means write the keys down.
215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Friends engaging on P2P gambling insights grudges amongst themselves on: March 20, 2024, 04:03:49 PM

Guess what, after all he ended up returning $10 to his friend.
So I ask, did the friend do well in returning $10 to his friend or the returned $10 was not enough?

To me, in general, that seems wickedness of gambling between friends on a P2P because such friends are not worthy to be trusted considering the sentiments in playing to win.
I would say that is a daylight extortions amongst each others.
No! That's not any form of extortion, it was a voluntarily p2p gambling between the two despite they are friends doesn't mean the money won by one party ought to be returned to the other party. It should be a thing done out of volition by the friend. This is not something alien to me as I have friends that we together waste away time by gambling amongg ourselves and the winners end up buying beers for everyone that we have to drink and make random gists without fighting or quarrelling. What I just picture from those two friend s is that they are not mature minded persons.
216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have this practice of gambling during one's wake on: March 19, 2024, 10:12:25 PM
I am familiar with this tradition and when I was a kid I do really thought that it is a bad thing and that people should focus more with the mourn and not with activities involving money or gambling to be more specific. As I grow up and learned that it is helping the family in the wake, and yes financially. It also adds "bond" to people who attended the wake in some ways. But there are people who are not having the intention to mourn; they're only visiting the wake because of these activities. Is it a bad thing? Morally, yes however no matter how we look at it, it is indeed legal and with approval from the family of the wake..
Haven't heard of this as it's my first time and it's sounds interesting going by the motive of the organization of such gambling games under the wake. I hope people don't get too excited to wish for more of these wake's because the more the wakes the more loved ones that are lost to death.

On the bright side, the initiative acts as a succor of relief to some of the financial burden surrounding burial rites and it also  while under the wake help reduce the grieve of the bereaves as they have people around to play with and forget their sorrows with some euphoria that's lifting from the shock of the loss.
217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Have Different Perception Of Gambling Operators on: March 19, 2024, 09:50:36 PM
I think different reactions to be normal just like we have different perceptions for different brand in different businesses for example as they say Mercedes sell status and not cars so people loving luxury buy a Mercedes to show their status.

The same can be said for different casinos as they offer different things to users but as the Mercedes example above people love a casino who offers instant withdrawals and a lot of bonuses, daily, weekly and monthly.
It's a different strokes for different folks, some characters are just so indifferent from other people, you see them stick to a particular casino even when the whole crowd is moving to newer casinos with higher versions and advance features for better gaming and gambling experience, still they don't feel it they just stuck to where they are maybe for some reasons that the very casino despite with outdated features hasn't disappointed them with withdrawals, deposits and customers support matters. Their perspective about it doesn't flinch even when those of others does.
218  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: March 19, 2024, 09:38:05 PM
Indeed, one of the important things is the secrecy of the fact that you won the jackpot. But it seems that some establishments oblige you to undergo de-anonymization upon receipt in order to advertise more the name of their casino. Then all classmates, work colleagues and acquaintances will say that they knew this guy, and will think that luck is near them and will start playing. But if it came to the jackpot, then I think almost everyone would agree to take it, despite the fact that we were shown on TV.

It turns out to be a rather funny situation when people around us say that we shouldn’t play because playing is dangerous for the wallet, but as soon as we win the jackpot, everyone takes their words back, I saw something similar with my friends.
Of course as the popular saying goes, "success has so many families but poverty is an orphan", no one will want to associate with failure, but people deem to forget that it is from many steps of failure that success is achieved. It's left for the gambler in this case to gamble responsibly because eventually when a  jackpot win comes along even his critic's will come back with a warm embrace to share in. We see that happening  now and then.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All of us are more important to Bitcoin than Satoshi! on: March 19, 2024, 09:05:05 PM
I'd like to hear your views on this issue:
  • Will the outcome of the lawsuit involving Faketoshi Craig Wright affect the value of BTC?
  • Does Satoshi's true identity matter to your BTC investment?
  • When will the community stop searching for Satoshi's identity?
1. Just like every other news that have affected bitcoin price , had it been the law suit ruling was in favour of Wright many hodlers of bitcoin today would have sold especially a lot of whales. For it's the anonymity of Satoshi that has been the pillar behind the trust bitcoin holders has on the decentralized network and a change in the status quo will  for real affect bitcoin price value.

2.I heard of bitcoin after a much time forward before knowing about Satoshi and that's when I read about bitcoin white paper. And just like many owners of the traditional banks we have our money's starched there yet don't even know the owners name that's how it all feels for me with my bitcoin investment. So wether satoshi's identify or not it is just the strength of the  bitcoin network to deliver on its decentralization and privacy character am mostly concerned about.

3. So long as bitcoin keep existing and growing Satoshi will continually become a concern to not just the bitcoin community  alone but to the government to sees bitcoin as a threat to their financial regulatory powers.
220  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 19, 2024, 07:28:34 PM

ATH at $73K has indeed been seen for some time and now Bitcoin has returned to below $65K which is a very good indication for those who did not dare to buy above $70K in some time. Because if someone intends to survive in the long term with Bitcoin, there should be no fear of buying at that price level because Bitcoin can still exceed that price this year.

After the halving, it is still possible for Bitcoin to experience a more significant price increase than now if its buyers can continue to increase by making more demand.
Obvious, Bitcoin is on a new trend and there have been questions on either it is a good approach to invest in Bitcoin at the time given the fact that, we are weeks to the halving and yet, we’ve seen the break and creation of an ATH. This haven’t been the case with Bitcoin through previous history of the pioneer currency but, it’s happening anyway.

For the many that was asking these questions on a good buying opportunity, here it is, a dump below $65k isn’t a bad spot to start your investment and be ready to hodl till the halving and beyond. If we have those expecting the market to dump even further, I guess you should have a reflection on how long we’ve been bearish and see the market heading towards a more sustainable bullish trend in weeks to come.
With how the price of bitcoin has been falling after hitting the recent ATH of $73k and later dropping down to $62k just in the middle of today you will wanna think bitcoin is trying to be democratic, democratic in the sense that it wants to extend yet another opportunity (to carry everyone along not leaving any person behind) to those that are yet to buy to see a position to buy and hold before the halving eventually come into place. There's still opportunity to make profit if an investor should buy at $62k and hold waiting for the bullrun. But it will be more favourable starting to DCA at this point  and continue towards the upper circle after this very one in focus, for  long term holding is where the main  profit making really lies  in bitcoin investment.
