I was initially scared BTC was just going to be thrashed and the DEVS jailed, since it is technically a federal crime (sigh) to create "currency". But it looks like smooth sailing from here. I will say I don't view the silk road auctions as a good thing. They are basically playing it off like they busted some world renowned criminal, and he didn't use dollars because he was "hiding". Well I didn't want to say anything political but to me it's hard for people to truly understand a free-market (and this is a wonderful, beautiful, genius application in all of it's unadulterated glory) becuase everything they know growing up is for the most part either subsidized, Wal-mart, military, medical, etc. Or over taxed, and they usually conflate that and monopolies with robber barons. And this market as of now is completely free (emphasis for now, not trying to be negative just realistic, I don't trust power, and especially not those wielding it for the "greater good"), and it's going to blow up, and if they only knew about it - they would regulate it to death, tax it, and or otherwise just kill it by "reigning it in/taking control of it". So after it blows up it's another free-market success in my eyes.

Granted not all is well and there is scammers galore, but however if you read just 1% of what's out there you can save yourself a lot of time, and tears. But the biggest point of all is that it shows just how peaceful, and prosperous free people are, and can be. Too boot the generosity is unparalleled. Not sure if it's taboo, but the fact people get paid-back after events like the silk road is all people need to know. They forget if they bounce a check at Bank Of America for 1 cent they are charged 35$ which should be a crime, (not to arrest but to bring about shame) but in the least reveals how those people think about the "peasants" that bail them out when the SHTF.

Yeah, I looked him up yesterday along with other players listed. Those guys are serious, have you guys tried to reach out and maybe see if they would advertise - even something that is short but recommended? This week has devastated my earnings. I'm not here to make a quick buck. I'm here for two-fold. To make money, and to support a new community. For the people against the guys making a "quick buck", they are still in a way supporting the coin, and if they are "bagholders" they will make for free pr.

I will disclose the only coin I'm keeping 10% is in DIG. Just so I'm being completely honest. I have jumped a few times first was DRK, REDD, and now minerals. The first two teams consisted of promises never kept, and I don't think that other coins realize the gate for quality is closing fast, and competition is about to blow the roof off of these coins.

I don't have a crystal ball but I think there will be room for many coins,(maybe 10 right now) and if anything this reminds me of the web in 1996. I don't know who the winners will be, but in my experience whoever has the first product to actually fulfill their promises will be the first winner. I must say this is a great time to be alive as an anarcho-capitalist/libertarian.

If you don't believe me look at wall street and watch Kramer. He will "recommend" and a stock will go up 10%, and then after that dump -- every, single, time. He is famous for telling people to buy bank stocks in February 2007. He is indirectly responsible for whipping out more pensions than the teamsters.

For the record I did a simulated stock account for 2 1/2 - 3 years, and never made a single dime. Take from that what you will.

What this guy said. x2 Poll plus SOE. But as a note - anytime there is cheaper coins from other exchanges it will not last, the whole point of an exchange is to price the commodity. The more sources the more points of equalization. For instance pumping btc to 1000$ now is impossible without some serious cheddar becuase once people see the price on the 10 other exchanges they will arbitrate. The only way this works is when coins have high confirmation time. But high confirmation time will piss people off. Case in point reddcoin, it's the easiest to minipulate becuase there is a 15-24 hour and sometimes 48 confirmations - 499/699/999/2499

Ok, So I bought some voot, nothing major, and before I sent it to my "wallet", I didn't notice it was not syncing. But I did the steps adding the nodes in the appdata/roaming folder and it's still not syncing. I have been at this on and off for a few hours now - what is the nodes? Becuase the ones I have aren't connecting.
