201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does affilate programs work in casinos? on: March 29, 2024, 07:02:56 PM
Its simple. The casino will give you a link. If any person signs up using your link and deposit into their account, you get a commission. This is the simplest explanation. It's no different from regular affiliate programs. It's a lot of work because you need to have a large social media following if you want to earn side cash this way. Having a large following on social media and making interesting posts that will get engagements then you plug the code underneath it.
I think some online casino affiliate doesn't end with just referral link. Some casino affiliate programs offer more than just what we think. They might give affiliates extra rewards based on how many players they bring in or even personalized materials to help them attract more players. It's like partnership where both sides help each other out to do well. And I think it's happening here in bitcointalk with connection in campaign management.
This is means that i have to be a gambler and sign up inside any casino platform before i can participate in their affiliate programs. If that is so, i don't think that would favor affiliate marketers who are not interested in gambling they may end become a gambler and whatever they earn in the affiliate program would be used back to bet in the platform. I now understand why most affiliate marketers avoid the gambling sector entirely. Perhaps they do not want t to be involved in gambling or they have past experience in gambling and do not want that kind of life for themselves anymore.

In conclusion i think there are good benefits becoming an affiliate marketer in gambling sectors but there are consequences as well. Which means i should be ready if am to start the journey on the gambling sector.
202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: Worldcup qualifiers - CAF. on: March 29, 2024, 06:56:43 PM
I agree with you that instead of going for a foreign low rated coaches, we should use our best skilled coaches for the job. The fact is that Nigerians do not appreciate anything locale, because they like to underestimate themselves. It is not by getting a foreign coach but it is to get a foreign coach that can get the work done.

On the other hand, if they cannot afford a foreign coach, let them go for a local coach. One thing that I see is the challenge of having a local coach is that, the coach can easily be manipulated by NFF officials, but it is hard for them to decide for a foreign coach on what he should do.
The believe is that the Oyibo are more skillful than the black because of their performance in the club side matches and rating. One of the problem the Nigerian Super Eagles is facing is Coach. There was a time they changed about 3 coaches within one year.  They changed in world cup and in the Nations Cup and and in friendly Match. And the second problem is the politics that is inside the NFF is too high so even though they use local coach, they would not pay him well like the foreign coach, and envy would not allow the next person to coach the players well. And if really the local coach are well trained, they are doing well in the football industry. We discriminate ourselves in every corner.
this is so true. It's very deficult for the average Nigerian leader to remove politics out of what they are doing and that's why it's deficult for a local coach to do well in our national team. The white take football very professional and give the coaches and players the right treatment that puts them in the right state of mind to put in their best into training and playing for thier nation but that's not what is obtainable with most African teams. We don't value our own and are not interested in investing into our local coaches to see what they can offer to the national team. Some might have even written them off than no local team can take the eagles far in a serious competition. The world cup is fast approaching and before then it won't be a thing of surprise that a foreign  coach will be the one that will lead the team to the tournament.
My own point is that. The white takes things too professional. Professional in the sense that they don't do sentimental things. Like favoritism, tribalism and stuff like that. When it comes to smartness or intelligence, i won't conclude that they are more intelligent or smart int terms of coaching in football. There are many African coaches who are talented coaches, and they can manage any team, but they lack concentration to take the career serious. However, with time they will be able to understand that being a coach in the international level could make a difference in the way we see Arican football competitions. Just like when we are talking about African referees in the international lee. But now it's a normal thing to see African referees that is a professional.

I agree on the fact that Nigerians in particular do not value their coaches in the past. But don't forget we had a coach in the super eagle who is from Nigeria, and he did so well. I think it is the government that do not value football in the country.
203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: March 29, 2024, 06:48:09 PM
We will see whether Arsenal will have revenge on those horrible times. First I saw the news like Kane wouldn't be able to recover until mid April but now it looks like he is ready to play even in the next game. He is a crucial player for Bayern Munich right now because of being very productive you know. If he wasn't able to play Arsenal defense might be a little more relieved.

Arsenal players should play bravely and I believe they will.  Smiley  I mean I don't expect Arteta to adopt a defensive game. It wouldn't fit the character of the squad either. They need to play an effective attacking game to have more chance in this matchup.

Most of these gunner's are noisy and lousy, they talk about the game too much but can they back it up finally? In the next couple weeks we will see to that.
They should focus on winning and not revenging, what has revenging got to do with this particular game? I feel pity for them because Bayern Munich will show no mercy on em.
Harry Kane will be ready for the club this weekend during the crunch game against Borrussia Dortmund. I don't want to see him back Injured so, hopefully he is not rushed back into the first team.

I do support the gunners to win the Premier League Competition but the Champions League Competition? Go back to history to see how much of a poor side they have been in the European Competitions when the games mattered.
Maybe you are just a diehard Chelsea fan filled with pride. That is the reasons why you feel that the gunners are noisy and lousy. Let me tell you something, if it were to be Chelsea or Manchester United that is topping the league table and playing in the semi-final of the UCL. The internet will be filled with lots of crazy banter post from their fans against other clubs. I believe that Arsenal fans are the most humble and passionate fans in the history of EPL football competition.

And again, they have every right to be happy since it has been long, they participate in the UCL. The happiness that the team are having good performances and there is a chance that they may win one of the league competitions. Manchester City which is seen as a threat. Arsenal is the only team that can defeat them in ay competition.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / How does affilate programs work in casinos? on: March 28, 2024, 03:30:11 PM
I was wondering how does casino affiliates programs work.

I have a friend who is an affiliate marketer. He does affiliate programs for various sectors. For example in the health sector, finance sector, educational sector and so many. It got me thinking after he tried introducing me into it, he is trying to make me change my mind from gambling in 8 ball pool instead i should use the money to get an online affiliate course.

Am curious right now, to know how does affiliates program work in gambling. I know gambling is big niche and they also run affiliate programs, so anyhow have an idea?
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it okay for Bitcoin Core development to be funded by Banks? on: March 28, 2024, 03:13:12 PM
I can see cause for some concern.  But I'd be more worried if they were conventional commercial banks.  VanEck and Bitwise are more to do with asset management, brokerage, etc.  Plus, they're seemingly on board with the general concept of Bitcoin and have made it a central pillar of their respective business models.  If they now rely on Bitcoin, it makes sense that they'd want to contribute to its continued development.  I'm confident the community are vigilant enough to notice if there were any sudden changes in approach or direction for Bitcoin development and would act according.  It's a potential conflict of interests and transparency should help ensure it's only ever potential.
If Bitcoin core development is the government priorities it should cause concern of course to crypto enthusiasm. I had the believe that anything in the world can be manipulated until bitcoin came into existence and gave me a reason for doubt. Yet, the strive to remove decentralization for bitcoin entirely never sees to end. It all started when the rich tend to put so much money into bitcoin in order to manipulate the sea so that it sails towards their direction. Now the banks which has central authority has added more to these issues. My greatest happiness is that they cannot manipulate the total supply, the price directly and the anonymous nature so bitcoin remains an asset that is uncontrollable.

206  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 28, 2024, 02:59:03 PM
Plus plebs like me who are just starting during this cycle should be with an attitude that any "life-changing" amounts of money can't be earned in merely one cycle. For the 90% of us participating in Bitcoin Land, it will probably take three bull cycles, or probably more. Plus to those people who are willing to risk it by participating in some shitcoinery, do it where the market is denominated in Bitcoin. Do it in Bitcon DeFi, it might be one of the biggest narratives during this cycle.
well, it depends on how much you've been able to gather at the end of each circle and whether or not your goal is to gather as much as
I know that generally speaking, what puts you at a better profit margin is basically how long you're able to continue stacking and how much you've been able to stack within such period of time but if the resources are available, a guy can use two circles to stack way more than what another person will be able to stack within four to six circles if the latter use a DCA amount that's not big enough so in essence, it's not just about staying too long that gives you good profit out of your investment, it is actually accumulating as much as you can within a stipulated time frame and then selling when you've reached your investment. If you've reached your goal by just accumulating within a single circle or two, you will still be in profit and if you can still go longer and continue accumulating along the way, it will still put you at a good advantage.
Don't be so sure. If you stack a lot of bitcoins maybe when the price was low that would make you have a lot of bitcoins which if holed for long would give lots of profit. Now the thing is it is not by how much you have accumulated that would certain the amount of profit. What give you a better profit is how long you are willing to hold the little or much bitcoin you have bought. For example, when bitcoin was below 2$ earlier adopters bought bitcoin, some bought multiple while some only buy some few like 1 or 2. If the investor who bought about 20 bitcoins sold 2 years later and the one who bought 1 or 2 never sold till today. The investors who had the least bitcoin would be on a greater profit than the one who had bought more. Just so you know that the best way to gain massive profit is buy never selling your bitcoin yet, whether it is a fraction, whole or multiple just try and hold it for long.
207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we still truly achieve anonymous gambling in crypto? on: March 27, 2024, 01:48:06 PM
What do you think about this one, where is are we heading? And can we still consider crypto casino different from fiat casino?

Well, I didn't use fiat online casinos for a while, so I am not sure about how they work these days... before it was pretty complicated for me to play in fiat casinos from my county, deposits and withdrawals were so slow, and I had many restrictions. Now there are many online fiat casinos in my country, but I didn't try them.

But your question is in place, I guess many casinos will become KYC mandatory and that will not differ from fiat casinos, but at the same time, I think that we will have casinos that will be free for all without KYC. Crypto casinos that offer some anonymity, fast deposits & withdrawals will always be in demand from many users. So I guess if we can make any conclusion it would be that we will have everything in crypto, regulated space, and services but for sure we will have some "dark" side that will be free from any government regulations.

I don't see why people keep complaining about KYC in an online casino. If it is what is required to secure the money of users in the casinos it is a good idea that all casinos should make KYC mandatory. Truth is i can't trust any casinos that don't make KYC compulsory because i would freak out with time. Like how can you trust a platform that don't take security seriously? Risking your money to platforms that would do nothing when something mistakenly happens to it.

If OP, is a fan of no casinos site its quite unfortunate. Because it is increasingly common for new and old casinos to adopt KYC due to government regulations. Perhaps it helps to validate withdrawals, or if they suspect unusual things going on in the platform.
208  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Supposed held binance representative excuse custom custody on: March 27, 2024, 01:16:04 PM
I think the Nigeria Soldiers assign to prevent him from escaping have been compromised..
Where are you thinking from? Your head or what? I don't mean to be rude but please be wise.

It is obvious that all these things are fake news. And the government has their hands in this situation. I can't believe anything the government have to say. This is because i don't think it is possible that someone who was said to be detained in a country that is not his own found a way to escape from their custody. My dear it's unbelievable that the government will have the mind to come to the public and say this kind of things. If the executive arm of government cannot detain someone accurately what else can they do in the country. It seems the government now see us as fools that they could just come out and say anything they want, and we will believe.
209  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Importance of learning a skill before gaining admission into the universIty on: March 27, 2024, 01:03:23 PM
My country pipo e go really make sense if you wey they seek for admission into the university learn at least skill wey fit fetch you income the reason why some of us find am hard in school na because we no learn handwork (skill) so the thing come become very difficult to even concentrate properly some days wey nothing day no food no money to go class go worry you and all this things really dey discourage somebody well well, those wey learn handwork before gaining admission into the university no really face much difficulty because them get service to render in exchange for cash

Learning a skill is very important in today's society and those that have learned this skills are one step ahead of the person that even have a degree in today's world. I have never seen a skill that will have no demand for it at anytime but I have seen a lot of certificates that they don’t require that for you to work with them but that part of skill that you have is what they cherish the more.

The school system has become very unimpressive and can’t afford to inculcate the necessary skill into students but mostly depend on theoretical knowledge which is not enough after school. Learning a skill is a very important aspect of education that is most required today irrespective of any field you find yourself settling.
Your right and i notice that if you have a skill before entering the university you won't get to face some challenges some students do face because of lack of money. You know going to the school our parents do think that it's so easy and after paying school fees, buying textbooks, feeding and miscellaneous everything bills has been done. But i can relate with the current student these days that these are the primary things that we do spend money in school for. There are some secondary things that we spend money on. So, if we cumulatively gather theses expenses, we will find out that it's so much for us as a student to bear.

This is where the skills need to come to play. Once a student start making use of his skill in school to make money. Some little distractions that money can cause in school would be limited. Although focusing on business or skill instead of focusing on education also result to bad academic performance.
210  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Can someone with a monthly salary of 200k keep a small family in this economy? on: March 25, 2024, 11:57:12 AM
Why not! 200k is enough to plan a small marriage and paying the normal traditional stuffs for the bride. Although with time the persons can save then start a business that will help increase the monthly income from 200k to 400k or more. To me, i believe marriage starts from when you start planning with your spouse, because you don't just rush into it. If you know you and your fiancé wants to have a luxurious wedding and you can't afford it. You guys can focus on improving your life first like get a better job, a business or something that would give you both the money you needed for your dream wedding.
211  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: A perfect opportunity to upskill for free: on: March 25, 2024, 11:50:00 AM
Thanks for sharing this message for everyone who is interested to learn a skill. Meanwhile, i want to correct you on something. It is not an opportunity to upskill rather it is an opportunity to learn a skill. Upskilling means you have a skill, and you want to learn more or should i say expand their knowledge and abilities in whatever field or discipline.

However, this training program is for people who are tech savvy in our Local board to have the opportunity to see alike individuals who they can learn, share and grow together in that field. It is a good start from the commonwealth. The most important thing i like about the program is that citizens would meet up to industry trends and standards. This is because as time goes by things changes and knew tools are being developed. Not just that clients want our services faster and the best so if you don't use the rights tools to achieve this your client would leave and move on to the next persons who would give him the same result you give but faster.
212  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does having children have an influence on gambling habits? on: March 25, 2024, 11:41:11 AM
In my opinion i feel it is mandatory that once a gambler has gone into the family way, he should reduce the rate at which he is gambling. It is supposing to be his priority to take good care of the family need and wants without anything that will limit the time and attention he gives to his family. There is a popular saying in my country that '' Time is money'' which is true. If he spends more time on gambling, he would lose the time he needs to use in providing money for his family. You know when you are single, you just have yourself to think of, so anything you would want to do, eat or in general spend on would be what you want and when you want them. When it comes to family it is different. The burden of everyone would be on your shoulders. That is why it is good to limit gambling when we have a family, so that we won't lose so much into gambling that we can't provide for our family like the way we should.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to handle unethical casino tactics? on: March 25, 2024, 11:31:55 AM

Furthermore, it's concerning that this casino operates without a gaming license or fails to disclose it publicly, alongside neglecting to audit a staggering 95% of its games.

Now, I pose a question to the community: Are we comfortable with these practices? And if not, what steps should we take next?

In my estimation, a casino that is not registered or license can do what they can, however they can and to whoever they can without the fear of being sanctioned. They are not under regulating body so no they do not play fair or by the rules that governs other casino operators. Avoid unlicensed casinos, they will scam you out of your winnings with ambiguous rules and there is nothing that you can do. I wouldn't be comfortable there and won't refer them to anyone. If you are not comfortable there, you next step is to look for registered casinos. There are so many license casino out there, you can check the forum for some of them. You are at least 90% safe patronizing them than unlicensed casinos.

By the way this is a gambling board topic. Move it there.
How is it possible that a casino company would bypass the process of registering in the government? I thought it was something mandatory in every country that any new casino platform must sign an agreement with the government which would make the citizen to trust the company.

However, your right. Any casino that has not passed registration process is not to be trusted. Even if it's not their intention to scam people that would use the platform it would be seen like a scam platform. I cannot recommend such platform i know because i would be held responsible if things go south.
214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International break's in football. on: March 25, 2024, 11:25:48 AM
What else would i say, if it were possible for football breaks to be scrapped and players don't get fatigue or get tired (If they were robots in human form) i would be the happiest. Truly, this few week of football break is so tiring. I missed all the fun, the banters and i missed watching my club play in the EPL and UCL.

However, it's just an illusion. The breaks cannot be scrapped. This is because they players have to show their patriotic feeling for their country by playing in the international level. It's a sign of respect and commitment. What we the fans should do is to find something that would keep us entertained till they are back in action.

I can't wat for them to return this weekend Wink
215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: brazil sanctioned law that taxes online betting in the country on: March 25, 2024, 11:12:42 AM
Although the government aims to increase the legal security and revenue, it seems unfair that bettors are taxed on their winnings without consideration for their losses. It's also concerning that tax applies regardless of the size of winnings. The government should be balance and have fair taxation policies.
I completely agree with you on this, Mate. Taxing bettors on their profits while ignoring their losses can be extremely unjust, and it is not a system that fosters fairness or equity. It appears that the government is setting individuals up for failure by taxing them regardless of the magnitude of their wins. I believe there are several other possible solutions to this problem, such as a system in which losses can be subtracted from gains before taxes are imposed.
I disagree with you. The government done care if you lose or win in gambling, they have given a tax on betting, and it will stand. It is left for the gambler to choose if he is to quit or continue if he can't afford those taxes. There is no difference on those on putting taxes on people with kiosk shops and trucking businesses to casino sites. They don't earn make much money from the business, but they pay their taxes whether they make profit, or they make loses.

I personally can't put City as favorites to win back 2 back UCL as this is something that rarely happens in this competition. City has a great team but also fights for EPL title which might be an important factor in UCL and Real Madrid is the best team that knows how to speculate games like this and won't be surprised to see Real qualifying further but on the same time I can't see them winning the trophy either.

I will stick with my theory that whoever eliminated Porto in the last years , ended up winning UCL so this year , Arsenal should be one.  Cool
You are predicting based on you believe. Wow, not bad at all. It might shock us that Arsenal would win the UCL. If by any chance Real Madrid will be able to remove Manchester City in the quarter final, then i think there is a chance for Arsenal to win the league. I know how tough it would be for Arsenal. Passing through the spears of Bayern, Barca, Athletico Bilbao will not be so easy. After several years they are here to face the previous Champions of the UCL.

I personally can't put City as favorites to win back 2 back UCL as this is something that rarely happens in this competition. That's some wild speculation there and I think I will go completely against it because arsenal don't have the tenacity to actually win the champions league yet although they have a great team and also playing pattern the winning power isn't just there and besides they were paired against their arch nemesis that always get the worse out of them which is Bayern Munich so they should first think of a way to eliminate Bayern Munich first before setting hopes for dreaming about securing the trophy.
Why do you think Arsenal can't win Bayern? Let me tell you something you don't know, don't judge a club by the name but by how they are performing currently. Sincerely speaking in terms of performance Arsenal are far better than the current Bayern we know now. History cannot repeat itself again. Bayern should be careful because Arsenal now is a team to be scared of, once any mistakes happen you will see lots of goals in your post.
217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling until you go totally broke on: March 23, 2024, 11:01:16 PM
I asked him what happened? What the sudden need for financial assistance? He tried lying (I noticed from his turn) but later, he opened tell me that he had some funds on him which could possibly have sustained him until this month ending to get his salary, but he didn't know what came over him, he went to a casino last night and in the process of trying out one and two games, he gambled and lost every single penny on him, and now, he has nothing to fall back on for the few days remaining before he gets his salary for the month of March.
He got broke as a matter of gambling with greed. How can someone gamble till he lost his sences of reason of not knowing when to stop. I think that is the baisic problem of gamblers they always want to win big by chasing after loses, and end up becoming broke to the extent of depending on people or friends to survive. I guest he may have learnt his lessons this time. For me I think you should have just given him some money despite you knew he was lieying about the rent issue, then tell him never to do such again let it now be on his head.

Needs and wants that may have been the cause of him to continue gambling. Not all the time is greed. A person might be comfortable with his level of finances and have other expenses to take care which he needs extra fund. Gambling may be the only option he has to get more money so that he can do whatever he needs the money for.

I would appreciate if we reasoned the negative and positive side of things before jumping into conclusions. However, that doesn't mean such a person should use all the money that was planned for something in gambling. Self-control should be important, if a person lacks this, he won't be able to quit gambling even if he is wining. I think this is the most ideal problem such gambler OP mentioned is facing and your friend too.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football teams create a kind of community on: March 23, 2024, 10:12:46 PM
The point is why does football create such a tension and division that can even result to fight and dispute sometimes.
Yes, the media men are mostly responsible for such things to happen in football. The media disseminate information's that are trickly to the public. And so many passionate fans would take it so seriously that whenever they meet with the opposite fans, they would have so much argument which may lead to violence. Imagine your happiness depends on your team to win and they eventually lost that match day. Obviously, you will feel angry.

The social media had also helped with the increase of cultural racism. Just like how the fight for the best religion so it is in football. I did share a topic some weeks ago about football fans stabbing the rivalry club fan on the day of the match. You could see how extreme a fan could go to show his passion for his club.

219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your take? on: March 23, 2024, 09:58:05 PM
OP, it's not bad risking on low odds with high amount. As long as we are willing to lose the money in gambling then it is worth the risk. Of course, it is crazy to choose a team with lower performance to win against t a team with a better performance, but crazy things happen sometimes in gambling. Especially sports betting. I have seen a scenario where gamblers win huge money by betting on smaller teams to win bigger teams of which it became worth the risk.

I feel like we should try things like this sometimes. It's easy, whenever you see that the smaller team have strong defensive players in you can chose them to win. This is because in the game they would hold their defense so strong while looking for the slightest counterattack to use to score their opponent. This is not a new thing, that is how all of these smaller teams know they could win the big teams. At last, it's just luck!
