201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 03, 2024, 09:45:59 PM
Arsenal lived up to expectation and won with a convincing 2:0 scoreline against Luton Town. The match was really vital to Arsenal as they needed a win for them to flip at the top of the table. They also needed to win to extend their lead against Manchester City, pending their result against Aston Villa whom they play later tonight. Liverpool will be playing tomorrow and with this Arsenal win, Liverpool will have to work harder tomorrow, knowing fully well that any mistake will be costly to them. I'm also expecting Manchester City to win their game tonight so they will close the gap between them and Liverpool.
Let's just say no one can predict the winner this season cause from my view this competition will be so tough to some certain extend. Manchester city don't want to back off also as we all watched their performance today likewise Arsenal. I actually love the Arsenal defending team and seeing an improvement always. Liverpool will play against Sheffield United and I'm expecting a win but one thing I observed about Liverpool each time they try to play with full force they end up with a draw. Liverpool should bring their A game without pressurizing everything like must win game, I guess this is common not just with Liverpool but other teams. Liverpool should do everything in their power to defeat Sheffield United in order to maintain their position.

.....and other thigns like having an emergency fund which at times would take 3 months or 6months of income to build and having reserves and floats to carry around that would help us have a financial cushioin and maximise our investment in bitcoin.

I understand what you are saying, Dorkylickjj .. but it is still unclear..

Technically, you are correct.

An emergency fund it 3-6 months worth of income - yet more accurately, an emergency fund would be 3-6 months of expenses, and sure if you build up an amount of an emergency fund that is actually 3 months of your income, then it likely should end up going a little bit longer than 3 months - depending upon if you might be able to reduce your expenses during any actual emergency that would end up taking place... and if anyone ends up having an actual emergency, he likely is going to dread if he were to ONLY have 3 months and wished that he were to have more, yet we know that it likely tends to take quite a bit of resources to build up an emergency fund, even one as small as 3 months.. yet it is something that really provides a lot of security and ability to take greater risks and to be more aggressive in terms of investing into something like bitcoin.. ..

Another thing is that many of us likely imagine that if we are brand new to investing and we are living in a way similar to many people, we might start out with only 2-4 weeks worth of float, reserves and/or emergency funds, and so we might have frequently considered that 2-4 weeks is quite a bit of "extra cash" just sitting around and just there  for various shortages in cashflow, and we might be able to get by for years and years and years with such pracices of sparsely maintaining savings and/or any emergency fund.

So if we are wanting to build up our current emergency fund, float, reserves to be at least 3 months and likely to have a bit more than 3 months in there, then it well could take us 6-18 months to build it up to such higher levels.. .. just depending on how much discretionary income that we have and if we might simultaneously be wanting to get started investing into bitcoin and building our emergency fund, reserves and float at the same time that we are making our earliest investments into bitcoin and sat stacking.

I think I'm getting closer to having a better understanding of this, the larger your emergency fund is the more financial cushioin you have for investing into bitcoin and let's say that I have been building up an emergency fund for up three months from my income like about 5% going into that and I'm investing a total of 15% weekly into bitcoin, then my emergency funds would actually need a higher time to mature to be a good financial cushioin for me in my investing or do you feel its a good idea to make them equal, allocating equal amount to both building up emergency funds and investing in bitcoin, since my investment is technically unsafe if I don't have a good emergency fund, and yeah I'm just well above 20, still in collage so I don't think I can cut down my expenses any further than I am able to.
I think I understand where you're coming from but I don't think it's a good idea allocating equal amount with your bitcoin accumulation and emergency funds, bitcoin accumulation is different from emergency fund so if possible bitcoin investment don't need a fixed amount but if only you can. People who actually don't feel the need of having an emergency fund when accumulating will later go for their bitcoin investment as an emergency fund. Emergency fund is just a hedge and it serves as a protection so instead of withdrawing your bitcoin you just have to use your reserve or emergency fund. No one can actually advice you what you want to do with your emergency funds, it's likely after saving huge amount of emergency funds or after keeping this fund for like 2_9 month or beyond you might feel like using the money to accumulate bitcoin extra as long as you can fill the money back or it's advisable never to touch the fund as anything can happen or probably keep saving more emergency funds, from my personal opinion I don't advice you touch your emergency fund. If your the type that wants more you can go for something else as no one can fully go into bitcoin 100%, but before diversification make sure you’ve gotten a balanced portfolio. Emergency funds is needed as no one can predict what will happen next so it's advisable when planing emergency fund should be included from start.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DO NOT BRAG ABOUT YOUR BITCOIN on: April 02, 2024, 08:48:19 PM
Issues like this has been discussed several times, bitcoin investment is not something you start announcing around cause if we're actually referring to attackers I think attackers will come when they smell something fishy, attackers will not just come with the aim of stealing something like bitcoin. My first question will be like who informed them and how did they get to know about bitcoin except such person had contact with the victim. Disclosing bitcoin investment to friends is also not right and I think this habit is commonly seen on social apps.
206  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: April 02, 2024, 04:37:02 PM
Are we considering $66K a dip now?
I don't think $66k is the deepest as the price could decline further. Moreover, the price now shows no signs of increasing again. Everything can still happen, so prepare for something worse than now.

The price may continue declining until it is time for the halving. After the halving, the price will go sideways until people get bored waiting. Only then will the price increase slowly from up to down.

When people don't think much about the price of Bitcoin, that's when the price of Bitcoin can start to increase rapidly.
Following the price sometimes can be a little disturbing, even with the ideas buying should always come first. Bitcoin price is unpredictable that's why it's advisable no one should play with his/her investment. If we're considering $66k a dip it's never too late to buy now. Let's consider earlier price as the main dip comparing with the current price, I don't expect anyone to stop accumulating during this period

Investing should not necessarily mean profit.

You will get some sort of return from the investment, may be dividends or may be learning. Not everyone succeeds in investing all the time, some succeed and some fail and learn from failure and move towards success.

But one should not invest in a situation where he has no source of income and is totally dependent on his investment.
When it comes to bitcoin investment, there's this saying "the way you lay your bed so you lie on it" bitcoin investment has nothing to do with failure at first start except you're referring to altcoin projects. Bitcoin investment still doesn't allow an investor to depend on their investment and accumulating at the same time except you're the type of investor that want a quick  profit but I still don't think it can workout. We talked about profit making and taking out early and it's not perfect when having a low accumulation level, for example, an investor can decide to invest in bitcoin with a selfish aim of making fast profit or like what you said in your last paragraph but the end result is nothing.  Bitcoin investment doesn't work with greed neither playing a fast game
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is A Beacon of Hope for the Present and Future on: April 01, 2024, 09:21:34 PM
I do not believe that Bitcoin is the solution and hope for all your economic problems, but rather it has removed the need for banks or any third party to control your money. If you want to send or receive your money across borders, you can do so without it being frozen or an employee asking you for a lot of information about you, but the solution to your economic problems begins with learning. Reducing your expenses, saving and investing, Bitcoin can benefit you as an asset with increasing value.
Bitcoin as an investment choice is not so easy as most people think cause investing also needs planing, planing is needed for everything to ensure success. At first from my perspective, bitcoin gives freedom to the masses and makes transactions across borders fast and simple with no third party. The fiat system looks complicated these days but I'm actually speaking for my locality, seeing the scam and fraud looks scary. Allowing a third party when it comes to financial issue is difficult but we have no choice. I clearly understood what op is referring to, treating bitcoin as a valueble asset and store of wealth for feature use is perfect so I see where the hope is coming from.

Arguing this is not even necessary cause I guess na wetin u don experience lol, if this is actually true do you think men will be able to invest and acquire properties, this is actually your choice and decision to make.

210  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: April 01, 2024, 01:48:36 PM
Exactly, when you sell and indeed to buy back at a cheaper price you might end up not buying back because of so many reasons, which we cannot predict the outcome of what would happen by tomorrow. If you sell to buy back, it destabilize the purpose of investing and increasing your bitcoin portfolio. Patient does not have any role to okay here, because you are waiting for a time that you don't know when the price will dip for you to buy back, and you keep waiting hodling fiat that is depreciating in value.
yeah alot of users are used to such act selling from their bitcoin holding with the mindset of replacing it , one thing you should be Aware of is that most time you won't have that privileged to buy it back that same price or cheaper price ( if one wanted to replace back) , like for instance now alot of users bought bitcoin during the time Bitcoin price was Around $10k , alot of users sold from their holding with the mindset of replacing it back, at the same ( they brought it)  or much lower price, but look at now bitcoin already around $70k and alot of people who sold like $500 worth of Bitcoin during $10k which would be 0.5 BTC . And lateron replace it back ( with $500,) during the price range of $60k which would give that same individual 0.0083333 BTC . You can see the great different. That's why not advisable to keep withdrawing from your investment even one having such mindset of selling with replacing it back .and we are all aware that those that started their bitcoin accummulation would be in more advantage's than those that invested now .

That is a fair example, except your math is wrong for the guy who sold 0.05 BTC at $10k (which is the equivalent of $500) in order to buy back cheaper, but he was not successful.

Another example of recent times is that there were probably plenty of guys selling on the way up from  $27k to $50k, and they were expecting to be able to buy back cheaper, and they may well not get any opportunities to buy back for cheaper than they sold, and at some point they may well have to suck it up since patience is not likely going to be enough to actually get an opportunity.

that's another factor most persons that sell for the purpose of buying back don't always put into consideration. What's the possibility that Bitcoin would ever get low to the amount you've sold your holding? The reality is that at some point, you will get to understand that it's not always about being patient enough till Bitcoin dips down so you can buy back. Their are past prices that Bitcoin will never go back to and those that sold at those price with the purpose of buying back might have probably realized that it's not realistic for them to buy back at the level of dip they had speculated while they sold part of thier holdings and would just have to buy at the current price with future bullish period in mind and never consider that they've loosed in their strategy to buying back at the DIP.

One of the main issues with selling to buying back in the future dips is that you don't know when to expect the dip and can't tell how long you have to wait before it dips below the amount you've sold part of your bitcoin and with a lots of uncertainties that's associated with it, selling to buy back might in most cases not end well.
Earlier this year when the price was revolving around $40k, somany might have been between two opinions of either selling or to continue stacking and those that might have probably sold at those price with the intent of buying back are obviously in the position where they are damn uncertain whether or not Bitcoin will dips back to $40k. And converting your Bitcoin to fiat comes with another issue you have to put into consideration like if your fiat that's now in a centralized system and subject to tax and other regulations would be in good shape for a longer period of time if you necessarily have to stay for months before you will be able to buy back. and believe me that it will get to a point when we will be certain that such a scenario may never happen which means that we can't buy back at the price we sold our Bitcoin.
The point is there's no guarantee they will buy bitcoin at the previous price, no one can actually predict but it's best to avoid such risk cause for example; I bought bitcoin at a very low price and decide to sell after making little profit with the aim of buying back and I never get to see such price again. In this case an investor will look stupid for behaving in this manner and it sounds like an investor want to play with their bitcoin investment, mostly newbies cause selling or making fast profit should never bother a newbie at an early stage, for example selling should not be the priority of a newbie. It's more better to keep accumulating regardless the price cause we're actually planning for a long term investment. Secondly there's no guarantee holding fiat for long just like what Frankolala wrote, during the past months my country experienced similar issue when the currency lost value drastically, just imagine an investor playing fast game during this season, when there's no enough money to meetup such investor will definitely loss and regret.
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 01, 2024, 11:37:53 AM
What are the motivations after lose against dortmund which is also placing below bayern? I meant if Bayern has no chance of competing with Leverkusen for the Bundesliga trophy. caused by this lose The loss to Dortmund obviously eliminated Bayern's chance to compete with Leverkusen, and it now has no chance of winning the trophy. I also doubt Bayern Munich will win the UCL this season because of their poor performance. Tuchel is the main cause of Bayern Munich's trophyless season. I doubt that Bayern Munich will be able to perform better. The defeat against Dortmund was obviously causing Bayern to lose confidence. DOrtmund was also involved in UCL, which means it was also a setback for Bayern.
It demonstrates that Bayern has been degrading significantly on its level. This is now the same as it used to be. Bayern is still performing poorly in this match. Tuchel sees UCL as his last chance at Bayern.
I believe that departing with him was the best decision because he was unable to create a positive environment for the players and it was also triggering bayern to play so badly in this game. He also caused players to lose confidence in their ability to play under him. Even some players have stated unequivocally that if they do not feel comfortable with it.
It was also the primary reason for the club's poor performance.

Yes, actually, after Bayern Munich's defeat, there will definitely be many people who doubt that Bayern Munich will be able to win the Champions League title, but in my opinion, this is too early.
It can never be predicted what results Bayern Munich will get in the Champions League at this time and it could be a bad performance in the Bundesliga, but at the end of the season Bayern Munich can win the title in the Champions League like several seasons ago.
For everyone who is a Bayern Munich fan, they will definitely continue to support and believe that Bayern Munich can still win the title in the Champions League, but for me after the defeat and poor performance in yesterday's match, I am a little doubtful.
How sure can we be that Bayern will be defeated, it is likely unpredictable, the match between Arsenal and Bayern will be a tough one, tho not compromising our postulations, Arsenal is likely to win, their performance is something the fans can talk about.
The chances of Bayern becoming champions is limited, the remaining teams on this same race are not just ordinary or normal, these are the best of teams that are capable of becoming champions, it will take a lot of sweat and strength for Bayern to become the winners, knowing they have very strong opponents to face, teams like Real Madrid or Mancity, PSG or Barcelona, these couple of teams would not relent on securing victories from any other team standing on their way.

What if Bayern Munich lost out in their league just to get ready to play against Arsenal, let's not forget they they have a very good record against Arsenal and their performance in the champions league can't be compared to that of their league because even when they were playing very poor in the league they still came back to beat Lazio 3:0 to book their ticket to the quarter  finals. Arsenal is in good shape and form now but they need not to underestimate Bayern Munich because they will come all out to ake sure they get  a win in their first leg and if they are able to achieve that, you won't believe what the final score will be in the returning leg because they will be aiming to facing the next opponent and their confidence will be back. All the teams in this stage is good but is t is still very impossible to know the team that will be champions but after the semi finals the best two will come out from there.
Bayern Munich winning the first leg is what I don't understand and secondly I don't think Arsenal will be so stupid allowing Bayern Munich win at the Emirate stadium. Concerning the second leg I can't predict but if the goal difference is much during the first leg then Arsenal will definitely win the game.
From my opinion predicting the match is difficult but let's not forget the strength of both teams this season and Arsenal has been playing effortlessly, watching yesterday match also show the strength of Arsenal this season so I don't think Bayern Munich will win so easily or rather I don't think Bayern can defeat Arsenal.
212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 01, 2024, 11:22:58 AM
Arsenal would have been win if Jesus wasn't there, he didn't have a good shooting skills.

Both Raya and Ortega played very well in this match, even though they're a goalkeeper, but they blocks and saves from crucial shots. Congratulations for Arsenal to defend from Manchester City's domination.

This draw result really benefited Liverpool lol, I think they will win on this season!
I didn't believe Arsenal will go this far cause I'm surprised, the game shows Arsenal has improved cause during last season Arsenal was not like this so watching the game yesterday I was surprised. Manchester city also played but Arsenal locked the defence and all thanks to Saliba and Gabriel. Gabriel J had all the chance to save the team but not enough, I actually thought Arteta will use Trossard at first start but nevertheless both teams really struggled and it was a tough game.

Nigeria as a whole with large population, citizens has adopted bitcoin as an investment choice, the way you said youth looks like bitcoin investment is just for the youths only in Nigeria but I disagree. Bitcoin investment is for everyone and Nigeria with a high rate of bitcoin adoption is great. Despite the ups and down crypto enthusiast face as a result of the ban on Binance in Nigeria but still Binance is not just the only exchange but half of Nigerians love using binance for exchange. Surprising the government can't stop crypto users in Nigeria. Bitcoin is actually a nice investment choice but still let's not just hype and hype without buying.
216  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 30, 2024, 05:02:38 PM
Plus plebs like me who are just starting during this cycle should be with an attitude that any "life-changing" amounts of money can't be earned in merely one cycle. For the 90% of us participating in Bitcoin Land, it will probably take three bull cycles, or probably more. Plus to those people who are willing to risk it by participating in some shitcoinery, do it where the market is denominated in Bitcoin. Do it in Bitcon DeFi, it might be one of the biggest narratives during this cycle.

well, it depends on how much you've been able to gather at the end of each circle and whether or not your goal is to gather as much as is needed to ensure you don't necessarily have to work once you've sold off your holding. It's good we make it plain that the reason why you're accumulating or investing in Bitcoin will not be the same reason why the next person is doing his and this will go a long way in shaping how he goes about with his investment and how long he desires to hold and remain in profit before selling his holding. For a young guy who's receiving some stipends from his parent while in school and decides to put them into doing regular DCAing once the money comes in, he can decide to work with just investing for a single circle or two circles and take out the proceeds of his investment into starting an entrepreneurial business of his own and as long as that's his purpose of investing in Bitcoin and that he has archived that purpose, then he has made a good investment journey.

I know that generally speaking, what puts you at a better profit margin is basically how long you're able to continue stacking and how much you've been able to stack within such period of time but if the resources are available, a guy can use two circles to stack way more than what another person will be able to stack within four to six circles if the latter use a DCA amount that's not big enough so in essence, it's not just about staying too long that gives you good profit out of your investment, it is actually accumulating as much as you can within a stipulated time frame and then selling when you've reached your investment. If you've reached your goal by just accumulating within a single circle or two, you will still be in profit and if you can still go longer and continue accumulating along the way, it will still put you at a good advantage.

Although that's true, I'm basing my post from the viewpoint of plebs like me - who have just recently started their accumulation of Bitcoin. We don't have the capital like BlackRock or Warren Buffett. Because if the plebs did, I'm very confident they wouldn't be buying Bitcoin with almost 100% of their savings during 2019. Hahaha. They would be buying houses and yachts, or the next new sports car. Cool

Plus the other point is to always be humble, and stack sats.

We found ourselves currently accumulating bitcoins with small amounts of money only since joining this topic. As much as possible we are trying to accumulate enough bitcoins, feel useful from the day we start accumulating bitcoins. Only DCA method is the best method to invest, there are many big investors who can convert their capitals into Bitcoin.

Dca strategy being the best is something I don't understand, dca strategy is used to accumulate bitcoin irrespective of your status, even with the dca strategy an investor can still not make progress if he/she fails to make proper planning. Using the dca strategy doesn't mean you have to use a little amount to accumulate but tho if your income allows that then it can't be compulsory. In my opinion using the dca strategy doesn't mean you don't have access to increase your accumulation but it just give room for a proper planning monthly or weekly when you have the access to calculate your emergency funds, personal needs, etc before going ahead to buy. For example the amount I used at first is not the same with my present amount cause I increase gradually. Dca strategy has nothing to do with poor or accumulate with little amount.

With change in algorithm and rising electricity bills can mining ethereum be profitable again in the future?
How  i wish you come back online now and see what is the answers about your question and to look at the market on how ethereum increases since you posted this.
Predicting the market rightly is difficult and not all investors can predict rightly but what I don't get is doubting if ethereum can sustain but luckily ethereum has proven the op wrong. I wished op invested at that time till date op would have made more profit compared to investors buying now with the problem of high transaction fee. From my opinion ethereum is totally different from other random coins and it's good for investing
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorites altcoins these days? on: March 29, 2024, 10:43:35 PM
Mine was BNB, ETH, RNDR, ARB. What about you guys? What do you keep following or watching these days? and why?
I'm not really an altcoin person. Focused more on  BTC, but if I'm to still chose based on how good they are then I'd say ETH, Litecoin, Dogecoin . Coins like Ravencoin has proven itself. Increased over 26% . Of course not compared to BTC but it still real good.
You will definitely find promising altcoins if you make your research, having a favorite coin is not so difficult like from my choice Bnb and ethereum is best for me aside bitcoin but still don't go fully into an investment mostly newly tokens if you're not sure of. For the past months the price of ethereum seems interesting so for now I think ethereum is my promising altcoin before I can think of other coins like the meme and doge coins
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Ethereum's biggest competitor? on: March 29, 2024, 10:31:11 PM
The crypto space give room for competition unlike other investment choice. Different coins with different grades, marketcap, price, blockchain etc, the biggest competitor is Bitcoin and definitely this is common as bitcoin is the most trusted coin for long term. Aside bitcoin, XRP, Solana and Bnb is also a competitive coin with different market. Ethereum is doing well this past month and we hope for more definitely. When choosing a coin I don't think it's necessary finding the competitor and besides ethereun is a good coin

A top management position is not just given willing except such person want to play with the company. I don't know for others but from my opinion I don't care about the gender type but such person must work with you first from a low position before going for promotion. A manager must be able to make right decision when it comes to labour and service, for example who's perfect for the position and who's due for promotion. The issue with gender female and male is absolutely wrong and sincerely speaking certificate should speak first before thinking of the qualifications. Both genders can actually work but depends on where you're good at first
