203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I believe in Ripple, but why Stellar? on: December 19, 2014, 10:23:42 PM
Stellar’s going to have to have to hire an army of marketers and engineers to catch up with Ripple. More importantly, though, they’re got to have to find a way to cozy up to the current financial oligarchy. Without support from major international banks, neither protocol will succeed. Ripple’s understood that from the get-go. They’ve joined NACHA. They brought in Chris Larsen of e-Loan and Prosper, and they’re already got German bank Fidor using the protocol. They understand that you’ve got to work with the existing financial system in order to revolutionize it. That’s why I’m putting my chips with Ripple for now.

http://crypt.la/2014/08/13/stellar-vs-ripple-wins-protocol-battle/

Stripe is doing this for stellar. Stellar wants to be the platform or infrastructure that makes it possible to send money anywhere virtually free. I think stripe is dumb but whatever let's see what they can do.

Think of the infrastructure of email back in the day. AOL ppl could only email AOL ppl. Most ppl don't even remember this.

Yes, but no other coin but bitcoin has a marketcap of 726 million.
So i don't think you can say it's shit..

You'll get a lot of that here just watch...
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I believe in Ripple, but why Stellar? on: December 19, 2014, 09:19:45 PM
Hi,

I like how ripple show there company to the world.
I don't believe the big public know how crypto coins works. They just believe in a coin.

726 million ripple
22 million stellar

Why Stellar? I don't believe in this copycat.. Is it like Litecoin to Bitcoin?

One of the co-founders of ripple left and created stellar.  Stellar has inflation, ripple doesn't, the whole distribution is different.  Stellar uses facebook lol?  Facebook has been dead to my area for 5 years.

I guess Stellar will be more toward consumers and ripple being more toward financial institutions but we really just have to wait and see.  They both are pushing more to be the new platform kinda like how Google crushed Yahoo for the people who wanted to search the internet.  It's not all about the coin.
206  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 19, 2014, 07:51:22 PM
XRP won't go below 2 cents again.

Sure, and bitcoin won't ever go below 400.

True but there's some nice consolidation going on over there plus more dry powder onto the network all day.
207  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 19, 2014, 07:41:54 PM
In other news, Ripple seems to be doing really well today. Grin Glad I dumped my shares just in time before the avalanche. It wasn't a whole lot but I know better than to play around w/ alts with anything more than pocket change.

Nice i dumped yesterday  but still a bit sad that i didnt start to load up at 0.012 when the ripple chills started to advertise here  Cheesy

Im still not convinced that 300 will hold but the wall is pretty big  Huh

XRP won't go below 2 cents again.
208  Other / Off-topic / Re: Debate: About anything and everything. on: December 19, 2014, 07:34:37 PM
Isn't your topic title actually contradicting you when you've already switched your position your first post about whether you'll debate anything and everything? You either have total free speech or not at all you can't pick and choose what is acceptable to talk about otherwise it isn't free speech.

It's like ripple compared to bitcoin.
209  Other / Off-topic / Re: Debate: About anything and everything. on: December 19, 2014, 07:29:45 PM
Anyone interested in debating with me?

You are free to choose the topic and side. You are supposed to take a strongest side.
For example, you can take For, environment conservation. etc. (Do not take this or similar subject.)

Non-participating members are free to judge the participants. DO NOT TROLL.

One at a time. And no NSFW, drug stuff.

All views mentioned by me or participants are not our personal views. (For merely debating purposes.)

Judgement should be based on skill of participants and not on your own stand.

How about something to do with the sony hack?  Why they should still show it or not, why the theaters shouldn't of pulled it as well.  The personal information is going to leak anyways because the movie will still get out. Obama said it was a mistake for pulling the movie.  How will the USA respond? What will this cause?  Finally, another war with North Korea?

And the news that Australia will charge tax on crypto means the ripple protocol will be illegal in at least 1 country.

That may have already been priced in since people already knew that was happening.

Ooops

That's why we send them down there ... not very smart those Ozzies. Quite good at sport tho ... I guess it's all that time spent not reading books

I assume it applies to all crypto, in which case Ripple will be illegal in Australia.

Yes, but Ripple Labs is trying to do something about this.

Please see the thread below.

Why didn't they name the thread "Ripple could be illegal soon in Australia"?

rather than the misleading
"Ripple : I don't think RL would be talking to a government if they were scammers"

And why is there no mention of it on the ripple website?  Ripple Labs is a company, so surely they should be broadcasting this news everywhere.  not some single ambiguous thread.

They touch upon it a little tiny bit in the last paragraph here.

Like Sony can stop the movie from piracy.  They will find a reason to release the stolen information anyways.  Just show the movie.  Bunch of bitches.

213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple pump over and down you go! on: December 19, 2014, 04:32:39 PM
well, i think from all the xrp the exchanges are using to buy or sell Bitcoins. So if there is a large volume in bitcoin selling then Ripple will get pumped again... this is what i noticed.

Idk, I don't think ripple is scaled enough to think about all the xrp being used to buy and sell bitcoin but you're right people speculate on anything.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple pump over and down you go! on: December 19, 2014, 04:17:11 PM
Well, looks like ripple is running out of steam again, be prepared to see more shills coming to this forum the coming days.

Where did the steam come from in the first place?  Ripple Labs wants a stable XRP, not one that is volatile like this.  They are fine with it going down and being stable.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Ripple price going mad right now? on: December 19, 2014, 03:54:51 PM
I dont like Ripple, seriously you dont own your private key and your funds can be locked by them, it ridiculous perversion of the Bitcoin ideals.

XRP can't be locked?

bitcoin will always be here to stay, and i'll always be a fan.  but it's so sad..  some people fail to see that ripple can be used to complement bitcoin.

It WILL be used to complement bitcoin but people will get hurt while bitcoin goes down in price.

218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stellar is skyrocketing! on: December 19, 2014, 05:22:38 AM
but they have the giveaway coming soon
When?

Sometime in January I think, nothing official I believe.  However much BTC you had in your wallet on May22nd I think, you get a certain amount of STR'S.  Same with xrp, xrp went down like 90% that day lol
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I sell ripple for Bitcoin? on: December 19, 2014, 05:18:30 AM

Now that is true.

However, when you work your ass off on auto-bridging, it will speak for itself.

“Ray. People will come, Ray. They'll come to Iowa for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past. "Of course, we won't mind if you look around", you'll say, "It's only $20 per person". They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it is money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good and that could be again. Oh...people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.”

yep.

... since that's how some people think of ripple.

Haha yep, bitcoin is fine the way it is....

then it is decided: ripple has to die

220  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 19, 2014, 05:12:29 AM
Ah, stability. This is what I love to see. The near-perfect balance between greed and fear. With world financial markets in turmoil, Bitcoin is the port in the storm.

Go ahead, fear-mongers and try to tear down that $300 wall. I dare you. You will unleash a beast that is growing restless in his cage. I have never been short in four years of holding Bitcoin and I am just aching to close that position on your asses.

Your move, Gentlemen.

Isn't it you who said you were short and had a good cold storage stash so it didn't matter if price went up or down?

Are you saying bitcoin will collapse if we go sub $300 or what?

Nope, not saying that at all. Bitcoin cannot collapse as long as there are two or more bidders. If bitcoin goes down to a fraction of a cent and I end up owning all of them and nobody wants to buy them, I consider that a win, like a poker player with all the chips at the end of the game. But that won't happen. Capital is fleeing Russia right now and all of the non-oligarchs have only one way to evade capital controls. Care to guess what that one way is?

Doesn't make sense how you would want useless numbers on a computer. Why not buy a bunch of dogecoin or some other useless altcoin if that is your goal?

I can see some people wanting a bunch of useless dollars if it were to hyperinflate, cuz it looks cool and you see it in all the movies but bitcoin, a bunch of useless numbers on a screen? Why?

Looks like the capital fleeing from russia is going into ripple by the looks of it.

There's no way for Russia to get into ripple right now.  However, ripple signed a bank Fidor which has an office in Russia.  So maybe one day but right now its not the ruble going into XRP.
