201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Logo Contest on: November 25, 2014, 11:19:25 PM
Good day everyone, any fix for this error? I've already tried 13.12, 14.6 drivers also the Spread-GPU-miner and spreadcoinx11-sgminer-girino mining tool but error still exist.
This was a bug in amd drivers, miner works only with latest drivers, I added the following info to OP:
You need latest drivers to use this miner. Known to work on 14.9 installed from file named amd-catalyst-14-9-win7-win8.1-64bit-dd-ccc-whql.exe from http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%207%20-%2064

Mr. Spread - Is there a way to see how many Spreadcoins are in circulation?  The standard getinfo command didn't show it.
You can see it in block explorer and at coinmarketcap. I will look at getinfo call to see if it can be improved.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: November 25, 2014, 10:14:28 AM
What happened to the Windows binary download? So, I figure that we have to compile the source code ourselves I guess?
Sorry for this, I messed up something. Now it is there.

I tried GPU mining and it works fine.
Encrypted wallet, now I have to do CPU mining or GPU would not connect.
I don't want to. I need my CPU. I don't want new wallet.
How do I de-encrypt my wallet or is this not possible?
You can mine to a specific address as described in OP. This way you don't need to unlock the wallet. To do so:
1. Use existing or better generate a new address.
2. Open debug console (Tools -> Debug Console) and enter:
Quote
dumpprivkey SYourSpreadCoinAddress
3. You will get your private key. Then open spreadcoin.conf or create it if it doesn't exist (D:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SpreadCoin\spreadcoin.conf on Windows) and add the following line:
Quote
miningprivkey=YourPrivateKey
4. Restart your wallet if it was running.
In the Mining tab you will now see notification that all mined coins will go to this address.

Only 18 people voted: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=868918
Come on, there are hundreds of us, go and vote or I will buy 1000 gpus and will mine all coins Grin

Dev,is there a richlist BE for SPR ?
There is one at MultiFaucet: http://www.multifaucet.tk/index.php?blockexplorer=SPR&top_addresses=100 but it is full of adds.

A little off topic but usually how long does it take to actually get something outta mining through the wallet? I've been steady mining and still haven't received a single coin? I'm just curious what the rewards are and what the average time is for them to be mined?
E.g if you hahrate is 2 mh/s and network hashrate is 300 mh/s then you will get on average 1 block every 150 minutes. So just divide network hashrate by your hashrate and you will get average intervals between your blocks in minutes. But in reality this is random process, so the actual spacing can be very different from average, you can get nothing for a long time or several blocks in a row. Current reward per block is 6.42 SPR.

Hashrate of built-in miner is low because it is CPU only, my CPU gives 120 kh/s which is 1 block in 1.5 days.

...
What do you want to tell us by posting these pictures? That GPU miner is infected with virus? Then just try to test original sgminer or any other crypto miner and you will see that they are all "infected". You can even inspect the source code, find no malicious code, compile it but antiviruses will still find something bad inside. The truth is that developers of antiviruses think that their users don't need to mine crypto and any miner probably comes from some bad guy who wants to use their hadrware for mining. Probably there are some botnets which are used for such things so this is not always wrong.
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: November 23, 2014, 11:57:58 PM
So do we have to have this new wallet to mine the coin still? or will the old one work still?
Old one works well, no need to upgrade if you don't want to.

211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / AMD and Nvidia miners for SpreadCoin, solo-only coin, are now available on: November 23, 2014, 02:19:06 PM
ANN thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=715435

AMD miner was developed by me while Nvidia one by tsiv. SpreadCoin can be mined only with solo mining, there can be no pools.

AMD GPU Miner
Windows binary: http://spreadcoin.net/files/Spread-GPU-miner.7z
Source code: https://github.com/girino/spreadcoinx11-sgminer

Don't forget to read included readme, it describes how to launch it. Even if you did solo-mining before it is still worth reading.

Nvidia GPU Miner
And here's a GPU miner for the NVIDIA crew. Compute 3.0 support should be easy enough, but for now it's 3.5/5.0/5.2 only.

Happy mining  Smiley
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vote for SpreadCoin logo on: November 23, 2014, 11:26:52 AM
I would suggest limiting voting to only 1 vote, maybe 2 at most because then it is easy to see which logos are better.
Voting with one vote per user can produce incorrect result.
Consider the following example:
1. 30% prefer logo A but also like logo B and hate logo C.
2. 30% prefer logo B but also like logo A and hate logo C.
3. 40% prefer logo C.
Obviously logo A will get 30%, logo B - 30% and logo C will win with 40%. Logo which is hated by 60% of voters will win, 60% would prefer either A or B instead. This is why two-round voting systems are usually used to elect presidents (not the case for my country though where the same guy wins all elections).

I can't vote in the poll but I will say 7 is the one I would choose.
Why can't you vote?

Whats a pool resistant cpu only coin?
This is the only Pool resistant coin to ever be created. (as far as i'm aware)

You dont know much @e1ghtSpace. This coin is not pool resistant.
I guess it is pool resistant but not solo-mining only.

Why do you guess its pool resistant? Its possible to set up a pool but I doubt that they will do it. Low profit.
How will you set up a pool so that miners will not steal money from it?
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Logo Contest on: November 22, 2014, 09:33:33 AM
I get around 550 kh/s on R9 280x with these settings:
Code:
--thread-concurrency 8192 --lookup-gap 2 --worksize 64 -g 2 -I 11
Some say that increasing intensity can double your hashrate.
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Logo Contest on: November 21, 2014, 07:15:39 PM
I am wondering who has already been successfully mining now??
what's your configure?-- OS,driver version.
For my R9 290X I have Windows 7 Home Premium, newest catalyst drivers.
14.11 or 14.9
I have 14.9. Installed from file named amd-catalyst-14-9-win7-win8.1-64bit-dd-ccc-whql.exe http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%207%20-%2064
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Logo Contest on: November 21, 2014, 05:48:22 PM
There is a difference in version. You have
cointhinkers:
Code:
OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1526.3)
casper77:
Code:
OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1445.5)

While I have:
Code:
OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1573.4)

My version is newer. I can suggest you to update your drivers.

Dev,there are bugs in the AMD GPU miner or it's not compitable with some drivers.
Yes, and I also don't like it.
