Be careful with your electrical systems, after install v9 on my rigs I blew up a 30A fuse that never support more than 18A with v8 and earlier versions.
Yea. The spikes are quite real.

All u with psu problems, test ur equipment with eth+sia dualmining, if that doesnt hold, ur system is just underdimensioned.
Best you start rereading the posts the when v9 was released so you actually understand what people are complaining about.

I can only conclude that Claymore's has reached peak of the Everest with v9..... .... OR is there a v10 coming beyond the horizon?
Bugfixes mostly if i had to guess.

Tahiti still rules. Power efficiency? NO. Compute efficiency? YES ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Old news and it's been this way for a long time. Newer gen cards are producing similiar hash rates and using considerably less power.

Well, my Platimax 1200 has problems ( freezes ) with 6 480's. No problem with 5 of them. PM shows 850 - ish @ the wall so not registering spikes
With Corsair PSUs, using corsair link it is quite easy to see the spikes. With v9, there's some wonky things going on at the same v8 intensity levels.

Careful with this version, while people report no major power increase, if you ever watched the gpu power consumption in gpu-z, you will see that each card has a power spike when it finishes a share (or something in the same ballpark). If you take the avg power consumption, it might look ok for the PSU, but those spikes, if they are done at the same time on most or all GPUs, even a relatively good PSU will make the system freeze or even shutdown.
Just to confirm, there are some big PSU spikes happening. Same here. I'm running 7 rx 480 on a single rig and had no problem with v.8. I've had to set -i 1 to stabilize the system. I'm using a Platinum EVGA psu, so its not that. Anyone have any insight? How much power for the PSU? The fact that it's platinum means very little. Two friends average PSU draw (6 GPUs, unclocked and undervolted) is around 777w with spikes up to 1033w (they have 1000w PSU). Just a heads up for people, be careful.

That's it, all rigs are on V9, let's see how stable it will work, only one rig out of 94 turned off, I will check it tomorrow.
How are you managing all those rigs?

Seeking to improve Rx 480 performance.
- SAPPHIRE NITRO+ (100406NT+4GOCL) RX 480 4GB model with V9 runs at 220 H/s at factory core 1306 / mem 1750 ( I think I can do better )
I tried pushing the mem over 2000 to duplicate other settings I saw posted on this thread but the PC crashed.
Memory clock speeds are not going to help you much with ZEC mining. You're better off pushing the core to 1400 and you should reach around 240 / 250 h/s depending on how much you can squeeze.

How will Eth changing to POS make things worse?
1 less option / coin for making profit (when switching).

if you are looking for ones that will allow you to mine to a exchange (such as poloniex) they are out there as well but you cannot withdraw until you have mined 5 XMR
http://dwarfpool.com/xmr, they pay out hourly, daily and allow manual payouts. I would only use dwarfpool (and have been for years)

just a quick check all stock RX-480 8GB getting 531 h/s
check with all my rigs and atm it would not be more profitable for me
Underclocked and undervolted ALL of my RX480's are doing > 720 h/s.

If the RX 480 gets 800H/s with XMR then mine XMR since its more profitable then ZEC.
whattomine say they are there, 4800h vs 1200 sol, for a rig, very equal, but monero is old i would remain with zcash to be honest For the last 24 hours, XMR has been more profitable. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fq9ToKiH.jpg&t=663&c=p2XJuoF4JSHAZA) Miners should consider using auto-switching to maximize profits.

https://www.whattomine.com/coinsis XMR more Profitable??? You complain about NEWBIES, but why mislead them, ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Seems more profitable to me. However never knew they could hit 800h/s. It *is* more profitable to mine XMR if you have RX480's. It's clear that he doesn't know how to change default values and input values that the cards can actually achieve.

So with his other accounts he makes say on average... lets say... for arguments sake... $2000 a day.. That's great and I don't envy him one bit.
There are 4 ZEC accounts (excluding nicehash) that net around ~100 BTC a month. Well, If i had the know how to write a miner, I'd give him some competition. But I don't, so kudo's to him. He has the skill and he's enabled us to all make $$$. We can't complain too much right? Indeed. If people aren't happy they can learn to code themselves.

Really thinking to switch to ETH
Check http://whattomine.com/ and you'll see you shouldn't switch, at least not yet All depends what GPU you have (RX480's): ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FQ1lndf7.jpg&t=663&c=HEXso2I3M7ibug)

according to them I would be 4c a day better off using nicehash
Yup, I've switched to nicehash 24 hours ago and making far better returns (for now).

Optiminer is back and releasing update of his miner for win and nix
Yup, and it's slightly faster Claymore's v8. There is no Optiminer release yet (0.6.0 is old) 0.7.0 will be released in a few hours I have Optiminer v0.9.0 directly from the author. Edit: I'm sure he will release it shortly. I can not redistribute it because of the license.
