201  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading or Long term on: May 29, 2024, 09:40:26 AM
Short-term trading is not easy and not everyone can profit from it. It requires a lot of knowledge, skills and experience, and even experienced people cannot guarantee profits when trading because the market is very unpredictable . What I see is that the majority only prefer long-term , very few people choose trading or both. If you can take advantage of both and profit from both then you are a very good investor, but there is nothing wrong with many people choosing to hold for the long term instead of choosing both . Not to mention , not everyone spends all their time on the market, most have outside jobs so holding for the long term will be a better choice.

If we talk about Bitcoin then there is lot of evidence available that success lies in long term trading and there is very little probability of getting success if you are a short term trader. Just see results of DCA or Lump Sum over a period of 5 or more years and one can easily figure out why it's important to invest for long term in Bitcoin. Those who don't have much time to look market on daily basis, it's best for them to invest for long term. In this way they can guarantee themselves good profit and also free themselves from hassle of looking into market on daily basis.

Yes, we have heard of many people becoming rich through bitcoin but most are long term holders, I have not seen or heard any stories about someone becoming rich through trading short term with bitcoin or any altcoins. That shows that long-term investing is always a much better choice than short-term trading.

I am not against someone engaging in short-term trading but it is clearly not a good option if we want to get rich with bitcoin. Short-term trading is only suitable for us to take advantage of to make small profits in a short time, never think that thanks to it we will become rich. That's too risky because we all know that bitcoin is very volatile and unpredictable in the short term.

202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: May 28, 2024, 07:03:29 PM
Chelsea is closing in on the Enzo Maresca signing for the manager seat. After promoting to the Premier League with Leicester he has drawn the attention to himself. Normally I wasn't expecting Chelsea to go for him.

But on the other hand Chelsea is looking for young managers like I said before. So it should be understandable. However I'm still thinking like rather than such move, Chelsea should prioritize a move for Conte.  Smiley  If they offer him a contract I think he would think of it seriously as he won a Premier League with them before. Otherwise it seems like Napoli is trying to finalize a deal with Conte recently. They say Napoli is close to making the deal official now.

They should get it done completely, if this is the coach they have plans with for the next few years, then I believe they'll do just fine. This Enzo Maresca one time worked under or with Josep Pep Guardiola as his assistant coach and he is also Italian who I know are always tactically sound and and will do a good job.

Talking about Italian coaches brings me good memories of Antonio Conte anf the season he was in charge of Chelsea. I hope to see same with Enzo Marasca but he'll definitely face challenges when he arrives. I have seen games he handles and how tactically brilliant he's been with Leicester City. I'm already positive to say they'll compete hard for the Premier League Competition next season. They have a pretty talented squad of players now they've gotten a good coach to lead em.

Yeah, Antonio Conte has not plans in the Premier League Competition, I would love to see what he can achieve with them since they'll not be involved in any of the European Competitions for next season.

So the deal has already been finalized, this was probably a good decision made by Chelsea. I cannot say for sure if it was a good decision or not because I have no idea how he is going to perform with Chelsea as a manager. If he is able to bring in good results then of course he is a great signing. But if he is unable to bring in good results or results that are expected, it is going to be a problem. Of course, Chelsea will have to pay compensation. But whatever happens, if he is able to bring in good results, I think it is going to be great for Chelsea. And I am pretty sure that he is definitely going to start better compared to how Chelsea started in the last season.
203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 28, 2024, 06:36:50 PM
Bochum managed to turn things around by beating Fortuna Düsseldorf via a penalty shootout. It's amazing that no one thought that Fortuna Düsseldorf would fail to qualify for the Bundeliga next season, even though in the first leg they played very well when they hosted Bochum and they won at Bochum's home ground but instead they lost at home.
In the second match Fortuna Düsseldorf was the host, but no one expected Bochum to play optimally last night, the 0-3 defeat at home did not have a bad impact on the mentality of the Bochum players, but what happened was that Bochum managed to equalize so this match had to be continued to penalty shootout which resulted in Fortuna Düsseldorf losing 5-6 to Bochum, which means Bochum can still survive in the Bundesliga next season.

This is the team's mentality that makes everything different, Bochum proved that they are more worthy of staying in the Bundesliga next season, this was a very dramatic match.
Next season, the Bundesliga will welcome two new teams from the Bundesliga 2, St. Pauli and Holstein Kiel. St. Pauli will return to the top flight after a 13-year absence. Their fans definitely will be eager and anticipating their comeback, hoping that the team can establish themselves and avoid a quick relegation. For Holstein Kiel, their promotion is historic, marking their first-ever appearance in the Bundesliga. However, their main goal will be survival, which will require strengthening their squad to compete with the already established teams in the top league.

The playoff stage saw Bochum, who finished 16th in the Bundesliga, face off against Fortuna Düsseldorf. The first leg took place at Bochum's home ground, giving them an opportunity to the host advantage. Also, it was not an easy task, as Fortuna Düsseldorf did their best to be very impressive in the Bundesliga 2 and this play off game this season. Bochum needed to be extra cautious of Fortuna's top scorer, Christos Tzolis, who had been in top form, including a hat-trick in their recent victory over Magdeburg.

Bochum's home advantage was not really important because they lost wholly in the first leg and they had in mind that they'll need to be at their best to outdo a strong and confident Düsseldorf side in the second leg. The outcome of this playoff will determine who earns a spot in the Bundesliga, making it a high-stakes encounter for both teams. In the second leg game, yes suffering a defeat ahead, they put their best to equalizing and even winning the game on penalties. The result of the encounter clearly proves the class and level difference of both teams.

First of all, it was a great comeback from Bochum in the second leg. there is almost 0 chance that they will be able to pull that off. Philipp Hofmann was on fire in this match, scoring 2 goals single-handedly, and then Kevin Stöger neutralized the score. After that, they were able to win on penalties. It must feel great for them to actually be able to stay in the Bundesliga. I do not think there is anything to actually talk about when it comes to that advantage for a certain team. The way I see it is the team which got beaten pretty badly in the first leg was able to make a very very good comeback in the second leg. they definitely deserved the win that they got. Some people might say that they got the win by penalties, that’s why a lot of people say that they did not deserve to win. Just like some people said Argentina did not deserve to win the World Cup because they actually won in penalties. They forget that penalties are also a very crucial part of the game.

But I will say this, I somewhat did not expect this to be so competitive. I actually thought that Bochum would be able to win pretty easily or at least not going to face this much problem.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 27, 2024, 05:47:36 PM

Here we go. Another unexpected thing is coming again. According to the latest rumor, Ratcliff has contacted De Zerbi to be a successor for ten hag if club will sack him. If this report is correct, ten hags will be fired by manchester united. Manchester United fans must be welcoming him as a new coach when it becomes a reality. I know t's hard to accept it.
It's unbelievable that after Chelsea that tries to contact Maresca to be Pochettino's successor. I can't believe it now. im only wondering what all of United fans think about this.

I know that if majority of people may be disagree with it but let's see what's gonna do by manchester united in the approaching days.
I'm expecting some surprising news as soon as possible.

Quote
Former Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi has reportedly emerged as a surprise candidate to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.

Source: https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2024/05/man-utd-transfer-news-roberto-de-zerbi-erik-ten-hag-chelsea-brighton

I hope that they are going to change the coach at least. he is going to be definitely an improvement for them compared to Ten Hag. Even though I have not seen much from the coach that we are talking about here. but I still think that he is at least not going to bring such bad results as Ten Hag has actually brought for this club.

but at the same time, I will also say that Manchester United can definitely get a coach who is even better than him. Probably the only problem is that the recent record of Manchester United is not very good and probably that's why good coaches are not very interested in working with Manchester United at this moment.  I just hope that they do not keep the current coach that they have just because they were able to win the FA Cup final.

I have heard this name being linked with Manchester United quite a few times now. So I think this has the potential to end up happening. At first, I thought he was more interested in managing Barcelona. Especially when Xavi said that he was going to leave Barcelona. At that time his name came up with Barcelona.

But now it seems like Manchester United are far more interested in him compared to Barcelona. That is definitely not a bad thing. Manchester United can get him before Barcelona ends up making any kind of deal with him, good for Manchester United. At the same time it is also true that when Xavi ended up saying that he is not going to leave Barcelona, De Zerbi was actually being pursued by Manchester United. I do not think there is anything wrong Manchester United is actually able to get him. At the end of the day, the finalization of the contract is everything.

Of course, I will agree that the whole Manchester United should be very welcoming to the new coach, whoever it is. Because if the new coach does not fail he is welcomed, it is going to have a bad psychological effect on him and that might bring bad results for Manchester United
205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 27, 2024, 01:56:10 PM
Today second match of Women ODI competition was finished among Pakistan women sqaud England women sqaud and both these already played first match but this match was successfully completed we did not see any kind of interruption like bad weather situation. But second match of this competition finished with no outcome and this match was effected by rain and first inning has been playing on crease and this match was played Pakistan women squad. If their first batting inning had been completed and then rain interrupted we could have estimated Pakistan women squad chances of winning by looking at their performance and Defeating target they gave. But sadly after playing almost 7 overs this match was stopped and in these overs Pakistan women squad collected 28 scores this was the starting today I believe that Pakistan women squad was emerged victorious if this match has been completed.

Now we see third match which will be play after few days and let's watch out in this match Pakistan women squad have good chance now for tie this competition.
Second women cricket match between Pakistan and England was disappointing because rain stopped play and no winner was decided. Pakistan started well scoring 29 runs in 7 overs but the match was stopped leaving us to wonder what might have happened. It is frustrating when weather affects match especially when Pakistan women team was doing well.
By the way we should still recognize team abilities. If match had continued Pakistan might have won considering how well they were playing but not sure because England already played well in past and we know that they have won the series with 3-0 from Pakistan. Well next match is new chance for Pakistan to come back and tie competition. So let's see what will they do in the third ODI.

I actually do not think that the Pakistan women's team could actually win the second match if the match was actually played. Because  England women’s team is actually far better compared to the women’s team of Pakistan. So  even if the Pakistan women’s team actually had given a big target to the England women’s team, still the England women would have been able to chase the target.

England women are actually going to be able to win the final ODI and win the series as well. if the second match was actually played, England women’s team would have made sure that they won the series in the second match already. But  the third match is going to be the match that will finally decide England women as the winner of this series. I definitely do not think Pakistan women are actually going to win the last match. But I am expecting Pakistan women’s team to perform well and give their everything since it is a match which they have to win to make sure that they do not lose the series. I hope the third match will be played in the first place by the way.
206  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading or Long term on: May 27, 2024, 01:43:23 PM
The major difference between them is that day trading tend to make profit from small market volatility, while hodling make profit from the bigger change in crypto value.
Day trading involves more techniques, self discipline and rational decision making.
Which do you prefer and think is better

Why not do both? Nothing prevents you from exercising those two (2) options are once. These options are meant to be exercised successively; not that day trading bars you from doing long-term HODLing.

At this stage of our investment, it is definitely recommended that we be smart with our expenses. When we mean "smart", it means that we have to exercise all the possible means in order to maximize every opportunity of profit on our end.

OP I do believe that you have experience on day trading albeit you incur small profits like what you mentioned. Though that may be the case, a profit is still a profit. While you are doing your day trading, you must also maximize and increase your long-term investments for profit at a designated time when you decide to sell those cryptocurrencies.

That's why it can be done at the same time, and most traders here in the crypto space do both day trades and long-term trades. I don't believe that crypto traders only make
one of those two choices.

It's the same thing that can bring us profit; there is something on a daily basis, and there is also something that may be large in the future as long as you are sure of the potential of the crypto assets that you will hold in the long term, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and others that are top altcoins.

207  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking to buy huge Bitcoin on: May 27, 2024, 01:26:26 PM
It is difficult to find a P2P exchange for such a large amount. You should also be aware that you cannot venture to buy this huge amount via P2P unless you completely trust the other party. You should also take into consideration that most people do not want to sell Bitcoin at the present time with this price.

Even decentralized exchanges may not have enough liquidity, so it is better to go to centralized exchanges because they have enough liquidity, but most likely you will encounter KYC.
I don’t bite what is OP’s telling about. If he has really that huge amount and thinking to go all in with bitcoin, then he must not be thinking that this is not the best time to buy. He might only resort into regretting buying today and end up seeing btc price tomorrow consistently drop its value.

Also, I doubt it if there will be enough btc that he can buy at that amount from a single exchange, but if he will do DCA consistently, I’m sure he will be able to collect bitcoin every now and then until he’ll used up all his money. Buying bitcoin with a large amount is actually very risky, but if he understands the volatile nature and is going to hold longer without planning to sell yet, then maybe he could lessen the risk.

Bitcoin trading volume is approaching $20 billion per day, so there will always be enough bitcoin for anyone who wants to buy in large quantities. But the problem is that apart from OTC trading, only centralized exchanges provide massive liquidity and if he doesn't want KYC then buying that large amount is very difficult.

But honestly, I'm skeptical and don't believe what the OP said. I don't believe that a person who owns such a large amount of money and wants to invest doesn't have a financial advisor or guide. No one is so naive as to seek help on social networks and advice from strangers.
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are banks against cryptocurrency? on: May 27, 2024, 01:02:31 PM
I don’t think banks are the ones against Bitcoin. It should be the government that is against Bitcoin because they don’t have control over it. The banks actually report to the government and because Bitcoin isn’t doing the same, they don’t like it. Because starting from tax and other things they’d have implemented or rule they’d have set, they can’t. Bitcoin takes out the middle man and the government can’t do nothing about it, no matter much they dislike it.
The question is s, who's the bank and who's the government? They are same set of people under the financial system and their interest, policies and objective are twined. The banks are more like an agents of the government through which the government can use to bar and frustrate any other rising financial system that tend to be of a treat to their power of control and bitcoin is one of  such with it's decentralized protocol. Which makes puts me in the right by referring the bank as a middle too.

Nonetheless the bank and the government are not the same. Understand the difference that the bank is not owned by the government. There are many private owner and they don’t have any personality in the government. However, the government under policies use the bank to do and get whatever they want. And that’s because banks follow policies which are set by the government. So government may use the bank as a tool but they are not one.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. As far as I know, there are many private banks, but in order to operate, they must go through and be managed by the central bank, and the central bank is directly managed by the government. So it can be said that the person behind the bank is the government. To me, banks are one of many tools that governments use to maintain the economy and control their people.

Answering OP's question, I never thought that banks or governments were against bitcoin, the role of banks in the world economy is extremely important and no one can replace it, including bitcoins. We don't need to exaggerate bitcoin and there are always hostile thoughts about why banks and governments are against bitcoin. If governments and banks  against it, why are more and more countries legalizing bitcoin and bitcoin gradually becoming more popular?

Well now we can see that banks were initially threatened by bitcoin but now they have chosen to embrace bitcoin & you can see that is very evident through the purchase of the new Bitcoin ETFs. We have been seeing the largest bankes disclosing their holdings now of Bitcoin ETFs and that is incredible for the space! The banks will embrace bitcoin!

As I said, bitcoin has never had the ability to threaten banks or governments nor was it created by satoshi to create that hatred. Initially, governments and banks were not friendly to bitcoin, simply because bitcoin was a new asset that was highly volatile. They need to be wary of it because they do not know whether it will bring benefits or harm to them and the national economy. But as things gradually become clearer, they feel that it is not as dangerous as they were once wary of, so it is understandable that they gradually become friendly with it. Everything takes time to adapt to, just as many of us were skeptical about bitcoin before trusting it, so why do we think so poorly of banks?
209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 26, 2024, 07:50:03 PM
Personally I don't think Ten Hag has been able to improve the Manchester United team. I would say Manchester United's performance has deteriorated further. Manchester United is eighth in the table this season. This is probably the lowest in the last 10 years. In the 2020–21 season Manchester United managed to occupy the second place in the table. So it cannot be said that Manchester United were in complete disarray before Ten Hag took over as coach.

Manchester United should definitely be looking for a new coach.   There is no doubt that United played very well against Manchester City. However, the main problem of Manchester United is that this team is not able to maintain the consistency of good performance.
I was a bit surprised when I saw how they played when they beat Manchester City, their performance was very different from what they have shown so far when playing in the EPL. Manchester United has the quality and ability to finish in a better position, but due to their inconsistent performance, they have to settle for finishing in 8th position in the standings.

Ten Hag is a great coach, he has the ability to bring Manchester United to beat Manchester City, who appeared dominant throughout the match. Ten Hag still needs to do a lot next season if he remains as Manchester United coach, he must be able to make Manchester United appear consistent like Arteta did at Arsenal and Guardiola at Manchester City to make Manchester United a challenger in the EPL title race.

It was also a surprise to me that Manchester City showed a much weaker game than Man United. City had many mistakes in the beginning of the match, Bernardo and Rodri made elementary losses of the ball. United on the contrary pressed very confidently.
Guardiola made many mistakes in his team's match strategy. Therefore, it was no surprise that Manchester United scored two goals and won this incredible game.

Yes, this was a big surprise. I think it was not for only you & me but for everyone. First of all, I think Manchester City was unlucky in this match. The shot from Haaland that came back of the crossbar could have easily gone in. Of course, the horrible mistake that Manchester City made in the defense when they actually conceded the first goal was unforgivable. they have paid the price for it as well.

However, I have to say the second goal that was scored by Manchester United was absolutely incredible. I thought that Manchester United should have kept a clean sheet. they also would have done that unless the goalkeeper that they have made such a mistake. He got beaten to his near post. Which he really shouldn't have. But anyway Manchester United was able to win the FA Cup. and that was also against Manchester City. This is going to give Manchester United some confidence. But obviously, the problems are still there.

https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/pakistan-women-in-england-2024-1398242/england-women-vs-pakistan-women-2nd-odi-1398272/match-report

The second one-day international match between Pakistan women and England women got canceled. England is still leading the series by 1-0. So there is a very big chance for Pakistan to actually level the series by winning the last match. In this second one day international match, Pakistan women were only able to play 6.5 overs. They had collected 29 Runs and did not lose any wickets. Sadly the match had to end there.

Now the third ODI is going to be a great chance for Pakistan women to make sure that they do not lose the series. of course, England women's team is actually going to try to win the third match as well and make sure that they win the one international series as well. And there is a very big chance of that happening because they are definitely a better team compared to the Pakistan women’s team. But I hope Pakistan will be able to perform well and it will be a competitive match.

<snip>
OP said he is using coinbase and kraken which means he has no problem with KYC.
Yes. I know.
For me, trading on an exchange that requires KYC to be able to carry out activities cannot be categorized as good because the purpose of people involving themselves with cryptocurrencies is for privacy even though real privacy is found in Bitcoin.

But there is a note that , even though these centralized exchanges are reputable and trustworthy , that doesn't mean they'll never collapse . So use them for what they were created for , which means CEX is only for buying, selling and exchanging . We should not misuse and abuse them such as using them to store our bitcoins or crypto assets .
I think we already know what exchanges were created for. If you don't use exchange as intended, stupid is a reflection of that person.
The incident that happened at a well-known exchange can be a lesson that exchanges are not a place to put money.

Not everyone is in this market for privacy, most people are in it for profit because what does privacy mean if you are poor? So I don't see anything so bad about us using a centralized exchange. Everyone has different life choices and goals, we don't need to discriminate against each other just because they are different from us.
By the way, many people always talk about privacy but I seriously ask, how many people do not use centralized exchanges? Do you use them?

Like I said, let's use centralized exchanges for what they were created for, that way we can use them without worrying about anything.

Finally this defender is departing from Hoffenheim as free agent.
This season he played 23 matches in bundesliga and dfb pokal, netted 2 ball, got 6 yellow & 1 red.

One team I would like to see some improvement from in the Bundesliga is Hoffenheim. For quite a few seasons now they have been either finishing on the mid table or finishing on that bottom-top/lower-top side of the table. I don't think in the last five seasons they have been able to finish in a position from where they have participated in the Champions League. The best they have done is the Europa League. And that was back in the 2019-20 season.

After that, this is probably the first time they will be taking part in any European competitions if I am not wrong. it would be great to see some improvement from them finally. Because they have been hovering around the same level for quite a long time. It would be nice to see them push for the top four positions. But I guess as they have finished 12th in the last season, we can say that this season has been a display of better performance from them. But I think the performance from them could be and should be better.
214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: May 25, 2024, 07:08:58 PM
  -.-
PSG and Real Madrid are never respectable clubs, all the players who have come to Real Madrid have improved a lot in the future and their market value has increased a lot, on the other hand PSG has no such record.

In the last season, it at least looked like there was some challenge for PSG. but in this season they did not have any challenges at all. They were able to win pretty easily. I have been saying this for a long time. If PSG actually does not face hard opponents in the Ligue 1 they are actually not going to be able to prepare for the Champions League.

It's very simple to understand. If they are only playing against weaker opponents the whole season, they will never be ready to face opponents when the time comes. And that’s what has been happening. With the amount of money they have spent so far and also with the level of players that they had in the squad, it was literally impossible to lose anything. They had almost every great player that was known to all. And they were still unable to win the Champions League.

At this point, I do not know who is at fault. Of course, the club is going to try to be better and win domestic trophies. But the other teams have become so weak that they do not present any competition to them and that's why they are also not ready for the big competitions.

The decision to sack Xavi and appoint Flick comes after a detailed vetting process by Barcelona’s sports director, Deco, and the club's president, Joan Laporta.

With this decision of Xavi not being the coach of Barcelona anymore, I think it is going to make Barcelona perform badly in the next season. and personally, it is not clear to me why they have actually decided to let him go. Because I thought if he was actually with Barcelona for one or two more seasons, she would have been able to bring in better performance. I do not understand what they are asking from him considering the fact that they are not giving him enough money to do anything at all. So I believe they will be able to give more money to the new coach that is actually going to take over the managerial job at Barcelona. At the same time, I hope they do not regret this decision as well.

speaking of coaches, according to the latest news, Napoli is interested in purchasing Antonio Conte, we need to see if Delaurentis is now willing to come up with the cash to get a top coach, but we know well that Napoli is a difficult place, just think about how they treated a great man like Carletto Ancelotti, someone who has won everything and continues to win (he could do so this evening too) was sent away in the worst possible way in the meantime everything seems to be decided for Thiago Motta at Juvetus and Simone Inzaghi is the best coach in Serie A

At this point, I think the downfall of Napoli is something that has to be studied. I have not seen any club having such a downfall in recent times. They are about to finish at mid-table right after the season that they were able to win the Serie A title. That is definitely not a good look for them.

I also believe that the good players that they have right now are not going to stay with the club. Because the club is simply not a very good Future for the players. I am pretty sure that the players also know that it is probably not going to be possible for the club to replicate the success that they had in the last season in the recent future.

So of course the good players are going to leave. we all know that a lot of clubs do have the level of money to offer which Napoli will be unable to refuse. So I think the next season might not be any better for them. They might finish a little higher compared to what they will do in this season. But that doesn’t mean direct improvement in my opinion.

Atlético Madrid vs Real Sociedad

Actually, this match is not going to mean anything on the table. So it is clear the teams are going to give opportunities to the players who generally do not regularly play in the squad. Actually, it does not matter which team wins, they are going to finish in the same position that they are right now on the table. I expect both teams to actually experiment in this match. Of course, both of them are going to get ready for the next season.

If you ask me about betting on this match, I will say Atlético Madrid should have a better chance of winning in this match, whatever the odds. They want to finish this season on a high. Of course, no team is going to go into a match thinking that they are going to lose this match. Both of them are obviously going for the win. Even though they might experiment a little bit. I think a better performance was expected from Atlético Madrid this season. I hope they will be able to improve their performance in the next season and actually give competition for the La Liga title.

I will revise your subject.

Bitcoin is more than a currency or security it'sor scarcity, but are decentralized, secure and private!

If Bitcoin didn't have one of three I mentioned above, I doubt Bitcoin can grow as high as now since there's a weakness in Bitcoin and it would make people to not completely trust in Bitcoin.
Definitely bro I agree with you that if Bitcoin doesn't have any of these things So people will not trust on Bitcoin.

Decentralization, Sscarcity are the two important factors, which I think make Bitcoin promising to the world. Scarcity's greatest quality is that it influences the store of value, which also depends on decentralization. Despite these two qualities, they exist within Bitcoin. So I agree with you that if these two factors were not present in Bitcoin, people would not trust it as much as they do because of the lack of a value store and the lack of a decentralized ecosystem, that is, without scarcity and decentralization functions, Bitcoin would be considered a lay coin.

That's right , we need a combination of decentralization and scarcity to create value for bitcoin , without one of the two bitcoins would not be as attractive as they are today. But I value bitcoin's decentralization more than any of its advantages because no other asset is as decentralized as bitcoin, and that's what we've been looking for for a long time. Scarcity is important but is useless if not combined with decentralization. Because creating an asset with a scarce supply is not so difficult, but creating a decentralized asset like bitcoin is not easy and so far only bitcoin is unique.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best Crypto Wallet on: May 24, 2024, 10:38:18 AM
Just from the title alone… I wanted to ask what possibly the best wallet to hold bitcoin in?

Before anyone says that it depends on what I need specifically then here is what I am here for. I can not decide which one really is the best based on the things I want. First of all I plan on holding some bitcoin (not huge amount) for a foreseeable future. However I also plan on swapping it for usdt from time to time aka when the price is getting high. I need a wallet that has low fees, preferably decentralized, and is secure.

Any recommendations?
You can use Bitpay wallet, it has all you want to do including ability to swap between bitcoin and vice versa. The fee is great and suitable for what you want to achieve except when the memepool is congested which then becomes a general problem. Besides, it is self-custodian meaning you are in full custody of the seed phrase as it is not stored by Bitpay. I would have recommended hardware wallets but from your post, it is obvious you are not holding for long, just buy low sell high kind of stuff. So Bitpay wallet is ideal for all that and from the review so far, I have not seen any bad reputation attached to it.

What I see is that people are giving recommendations on Electrum as well as many other wallets and Electrum is a perfect choice for storing bitcoin but that's not what OP is looking for . He was looking for a wallet that could directly exchange between bitcoin and USDT , and Electrum did not offer that feature .

I have never seen or used any wallet that features a direct exchange on the wallet, and is open source and non-custodial wallet . Is Bitpay an open source and non-custodial wallet? By the way, I saw the OP said that he is looking for a wallet for mobile version and does bitpay have a version for both iOS and Android operating systems currently?
220  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Exchanges Nowadays on: May 24, 2024, 10:21:51 AM
Used to be super active but got burned by most of the old closures (Cryptsy, btc-e, Bter, etc), so where is the best place to trade nowadays?  I have a Coinbase account already along with Kraken but not sure of other options that may be better.  Thanks!
If you come from the same country as me, there are two good exchanges for trading, Indodax and Tokocrypto. All local exchanges require us to complete KYC and for those who don't want KYC exchange, it means the desired exchange is not available.

Globally, Binance exchange is well known. But they also require KYC. Binance supports SegWit and Lightning. Use Binance with caution as in many cases they are not registered with the legal regulations [permits] of the country of operation.

OP said he is using coinbase and kraken which means he has no problem with KYC.

It can be said that among all the centralized exchanges , Binance is the best and most reliable despite recent incidents . Coinbase and kraken are the top 2 exchanges in the US and I think they're not too bad to use , but if the OP wants to find something better I'd still recommend Binance .
