201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: November 19, 2015, 08:22:40 PM
I think digger came out and will dig up all his clam fast because digger afraid there will be a vote on reduce or remove digging.
curious already wrote that he/she is done with digging in a few days (not enough time for a vote and change), but not selling. Personally I agree with curious that digging is a good idea, because it will distribute more CLAMs, probably mostly at market price at Poloniex, if another whale finds some addresses. The danger of 51% control is low.

Too bad that there will be no doogcoin, would have doubled my investment, but then maybe not, because people would have lose faith in CLAM then and would not trust the new coin either. But I like the idea of adding new voting features to CLAM.

I just did a 20BTC trade with someone on Poloniex at 0.00145
Doesn't prove you are the digger, but confirmed. BTW, it is cheaper with the escrow feature on just-dice Smiley

why not just let dooglus decide then? as he owns the largest staking pool and will win the vote regardless? unless I am missing something.
I think most coins are the investors money in JD, not doog's personal money. There should be a vote option in JD.

Bit-Numbers is back up and running again sorry for the down time guys I had some personal issues I was dealing with.

The SSL certificate is expired and self-signed. I suggest to buy a professional certificate, they are not expensive.

I was considering having the initial distribution of the new coin be such that everyone has the same as the amount of already-moved CLAM they had at that block. Coins which hadn't moved since the initial CLAM distribution wouldn't feature in the new coin's blockchain.

And so "the digger" would only have the 38% of his 500k that he moved already, and the next generation of large diggers would have nothing.

The idea being that since some people want digging to stop and others want it left alone, we need a 2nd coin in which digging has stopped.

For those who want digging left as it started, there's CLAM. For people who want it stopped, there's the other coin.

Again, it's just an idea someone brought up. So far I've heard nothing against it other than that "it's a bad idea". But is it? And if so, why so?
I like this idea. Then the current rules of CLAM don't change and everyone can change who wants to use the new coin. But the exchange rate of CLAM might drop, because people would assume that some people might cash out to BTC for easy money doubling.

If we vote based on how many CLAMs we hold, would be nice if investors at JD could vote, too.

[...] it has such a good interest rate, which will outperform inflation in the end [...]

I don't really understand - the interest *is* the inflation isn't it?
You are right, I mean the demand will outperform the inflation, because everyone hopes that they will get more money, which I think you can already see, because the rate was very stable in the last few months. Should have dropped more with just the inflation.

But I wonder how I explain CLAM interest profit to my tax accountant. She had already a hard time to understand and book BTC exchange profits Smiley

no we will have an exciting experiment on poloniex - let the traders understand the interest rate given by clams and we will see a different price range than the one given now.
I think you are right. There will be a high demand for CLAMs, because it has such a good interest rate, which will outperform inflation in the end, until it stabilize at a high exchange rate. The only problem at the moment is the technical difficulties that you have to run your own CLAM client, if you don't want to invest in a gambling site, and the usual trader might not be comfortable with it. A reputable investment company should create a CLAM staking pool service.

209  Economy / Auctions / Re: selling lucky and famous just-dice.com uid 777500 on: May 25, 2015, 04:25:56 PM
No bid so far, I'll extend the auction until Wednesday, because of the Bitcointalk downtime. And you can even start with 0.0 BTC (for free). I have to get rid of the UIDs, otherwise it's too tempting to gamble again Smiley

Of course it is all random, but for the superstitious gambler this is your chance: lucky seed still not randomized, profit with it was 5,499 CLAMS:

And I was kind of famous for big tips, and it is a nice number Grin

Bid in this thread, or by PM, I accept BTC or CLAMS. We can do the transfer with tip in just-dice chat with escrow service by a mod, if you like, or just send me the BTC and I'll send you the login data, if you are the auction winner. Bidding ends at Sunday. Suggested start price: 0.1 BTC.

Currently some big bets are made on Just Dice, galoper is gambling for hours ( https://i.imgur.com/fLcBFW6.png ). Fun to watch if you are "/offsite 0" Grin Maybe a good time for investors to start investing, depending on the outcome.

219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Source code of Bitcredit/CRE released! on: April 23, 2015, 09:44:44 PM
This:
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues/3228
references problems with clang and boost. Although not the same problem as you seem to be having, it might be related. I think it was the recompiling of boost from source that solved it for me, but not quite sure. Search for "If you're using Homebrew, the easiest way to workaround this issue is to compile the Boost library from source using the brew command" in the article that I linked.
I tried to compile boost (although it is a template class library, which means most of it are just header files, not much to compile), but it didn't work.

Turns out it used the boost installation from MacPorts, which was version 1.58. Brew wants to install boost 1.57, but the other installation was in the path first. I uninstalled the MacPorts boost installation and now it works, the Qt client is running and synchronizing with the networ. So there is some problem with boost version 1.58 and maybe the clang compiler, or some incompatibilities with the MacPorts boost installation, when using brew to install the rest. Someone should port it to C++11, then it should be possible to remove boost.

BTW, there are some serious compiler warnings, like using "false" for an argument to a function which expects "bool *" in main_tests.cpp and which is then converted to "NULL", which might be not what you have intended. And a lot signed/unsigned compare warning, which are possible attack points.

Not sure if renaming it to "Credits" without a large amount of SEO is a great idea though. As mentioned above it might be buried on google.
Yeah, like CLAM Grin

I like "Credits", this is always used in science fiction movies. Another idea would be "latinum" (important property: non-replicable), but would cause even more SEO problems, and probably even copyright problems.
