Haha! Works great and I didn't have to extend any longer that 1 PCIe riser to avoid powering it. The board has a separate 8 pin power plug for supplying PCIe slots.

Preorders available?

I'd like to see an option to purchase a preconfigured cluster similar to what BFL is doing with their rig boxes, any plans?
205  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Fearsome Friday, 5,600BTC of trading on GLBSE in the last 24 hours on: May 06, 2012, 07:12:37 AM
Can I buy stocks in GLBSE? Cheesy

Yes, I have a few shares listed for sale.

However the contract for GLBSE seems to not be valid as I have not been getting my dividends :/

Edit: It seems he recently changed the contract and took it off the main trading page. Hmm...
Just FYI there was not a vote about this or any shareholder notification that I am aware of.

I do not really want to form a rating agency like what is currently out there. I was thinking mostly like having a check list so people could see what the company has done. This is mostly to stop clear scams like the GLBSE stock and for people to know what they are investing in. I was not thinking about giving recommendations, just a place where people can quickly see what is know about the company publicly. If not enough information is known I would be cautious but that is up to the investor.

Thanks.

My god, it doesn't end with you.
206  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: ideas for better cooling? on: May 06, 2012, 12:48:57 AM
Your case has a Hotswap bay in front of where the air intake sits on a 7970. If you are not using that hotswap, remove the hotswap plugs and relocate that fan to the back of the bay and open the front door. This will drive fresh air through your card faster w/o increasing fan speeds. I also recommend Silverstone AP series fans, they are designed to channel air in one direction and work exceptionally well for graphics cards.

After a few hours being disconnected a PSU should be fully discharged. Safe to poke around and have fun with, they are interesting little creatures, but I'd never electrically MOD one.
209  Economy / Goods / [FS] Fabrique Nationale Herstal PS-90 TR on: May 05, 2012, 10:28:26 PM
There seems to be an interest in weaponry here, so why not.

Up For Sale

One Fabrique Nationale Herstal PS-90 Triple Rail military style civilian carbine.
Quote from: FNHUSA.com
The easy-to-shoot PS90 represents a flexible, compact bullpup carbine design that's ideal for personal security and sporting use. Chambered in the high velocity 5.7x28mm cartridge, the PS90 utilizes blowback operation and fires from a closed bolt for greater accuracy and reliability. The PS90’s 16" cold hammer-forged MIL-SPEC barrel is equipped with an integrated muzzle brake to reduce recoil. Models with 10- or 30-round polymer detachable magazines are available. The PS90’s safety switch is located inside the trigger guard for easy access. Dual magazine latches, cocking handles and an innovative synthetic thumbhole stock with a molded-in sling attachment point help make the PS90 fully ambidextrous.

Beautiful condition and well maintained. Has had an approximation of 1,000 rds. fired with no failures. Barrel life is listed at up to 30,000 rds. on P90 models in fully automatic and 3-round burst modes. This carbine is a blast to shoot and is guaranteed to put a shit eating grin on anyone's face. I have taken multiple anti-gun people out to shoot this and none left with the same idea about guns.

Because of its barrel length (16"), this is classified as a pistol. Must be 21 years of age or older with proper purchase documentation / have an FFL dealer to purchase.

Included in sale:

Asking Price is $1900 USD
Sorry no international, I'm sure you understand

I already have two serious inquiries and have no need to sell, in fact I really enjoy this gun. No low balls, if you can not afford the asking price just enjoy its beauty in pictures.

Album of images

SALE MUST BE CONCLUDED BY LOCAL PICK UP WITH PROPER DOCUMENTATION OR THROUGH FFL DEALER!!

I wasn't trolling. You seemed to have trolled your own thread, there was no need for you to bring up BurningToad in the midst of your own issues.

EDITED

My apologies, that was rude.
Seriously though, stop bringing others up when you have problems.

Can you come up with something for BitcoinConsumer.com?

I'd like 4 samples, two of each in blue and green hues (not together). Use of the Bitcoin logo is good, but don't make it too pronounced.
Send to me in PM
214  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [CLOSED] Watch the thread for finaly payout info "Project #2" on: May 04, 2012, 05:07:00 PM
You are correct, context is my friend. So are semantics as you so eloquently put it.

People without personal issues are not people. Because he is a person that does not give him the ability to escape morality, rather he is bound by it.
You don't know the circumstances of his leave of absence and reason for pool shutdown. He could very well have cancer, I'd say fuck it too.

Yes there were dangers, and this is why I replied to a post warning about the dangers of mining at pools. Read the post that I replied to, I understand you fell for what Giga said about me avoiding responsibility but you should reread the thread and try to figure this out for yourself. Context is your friend.

Good luck.
You stated BurningToad owed you something. This is not the case completely. Remember context is my friend.
Quote from: BurningToad email regarding the closing of ARSBitcoin.com
If you still have a "current balance" at ArsBitcoin, please go to http://arsbitcoin.com to claim your balance sometime in the next 30 days.  After that, I will bring the site down, but will hold any unclaimed bitcoins for another 30 days in case someone misses the window.  Once this final window has passed, I will consider any leftover coins a donation to help cover server costs, which because of my neglect have still been fairly high despite no mining.

As for the unpaid SMPPS buffer, there isn't much I can do about it.  This means that "Unpaid work" will not get paid at this point.  Even if I turned mining back on, there is no saying whether the buffer would go up or down.  I also do not have the 900ish bitcoins to pay out of my own pocket (as costs are already a problem.)  I hope you can understand the SMPPS payment model always had this possibility.
Context of message:
In the left panel on ARSBitcoin.com there is "Unpaid Work" & "Current Balance". If you have mined coins from positive buffer or PPPS from negative buffer (Current Balance), you are welcome to come and claim your coins. Unpaid negative SMPPS buffer (Unpaid Work) will not be paid. There will be no future blocks to pay for unpaid work, the risk of mining SMPPS.

If you knew of the dangers and explained it, why are you even bringing that up? Because this is what you do.
Why are you questioning BT's morals when you knew this was a risk but continued to mine there anyway?

Every time something goes wrong for you, you attempt to drag someone else's name though the mud. You need to stop doing this.

BTW I use person in the way the common people will use it daily. Person comes from Greek and means "a mask", and a "person" in the USA was a way to make a "sovereign" have to follow state and federal laws. To state it more clearly a "person" is your corporate identity. If the people knew the significances of this the USA would be a very different place.

As for this, are you serious? I do believe "common people" use words as currently defined by most recent issues of dictionaries.
Person: Human, Individual
Owe: To be under obligation to pay or repay in return for something received
215  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: May 04, 2012, 04:00:16 PM

sounds like you overclocked them too much... and your rig/bamt doesn't like it.

reduce your clocks, typically 800/300 works best for all my 5970's...

then try removing the noOCGPUx file:

Quote
: cd /live/image/BAMT/CONTROL/ACTIVE

: ls

(it will display the files needed to be removed, n then you follow by typing for each one)

: rm noOCGPUx

once done editing your .config, and removing each one of those files...

go back to gpumon, stop mining, start mining.

hope that helps, as it did for me from. (thanks to Spilrow for schoolin me on that :-) ).

I don't OC my cards, 800/300 is a fairly high OC. It was just one of those weird things that happens every once in a while with no reason or explanation. Started with fresh images across the farm today.
216  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [CLOSED] Watch the thread for finaly payout info "Project #2" on: May 04, 2012, 03:23:06 PM
I will state again since you seemed to have missed it, closing the pool when miners are unpaid is morally ambiguous.

You are acting as if I am not going to pay the pool because of ARS's actions. I really think you need to reread what has been said in this thread.

I said nothing to the affect that you would not pay your miners because of BT closing ARSBitcoin. As an operator of a PPS platform mining pool, I believe it is required of you to pay out all shares as you have taken any buffer for yourself and have agreed by offering PPS to take on all risk of variance for yourself with the hopes of making profits off quick blocks. As to SMPPS and BurningToad, you should read pg 16-17 of Meni's Analysis of Bitcoin Pooled Mining Reward Systems, published Nov. 17, 2011.

Furthermore, it is very rude to say BurningToad morally ambiguous when he had stated;
I've been having a number of personal issues.  One of which has affected my ability to be very social or responsive.
especially given the fact that he stated this when the pool had a 800+ BTC positive buffer. You knew and understood, or had the information available but ignored it, the dangers associated with mining at a SMPPS pool.
217  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [CLOSED] Watch the thread for finaly payout info "Project #2" on: May 04, 2012, 02:07:40 PM
BT made it clear he was not keeping the pool up to date and maintenance had fallen of the deep end. Go re-read the ARS thread, the email you recieved was notice that he was closing the site and hosting down, the pool hasn't had an operator in quiet some time. SMPPS pays as long as there is a positive pool buffer, it never became positive he owes you nothing. You should feel cheated by yourself, if anything, because you were either too lazy/bullheaded to move on or you were too optimistic that BT's personal issues were going to be resolved and he would come back.

VisionTek 400698 1000W Power Supply **Refirbished**

Never seen one IRL and never heard of anyone using one. 912w split across 4 12v rails, but judging by the $ tag its 1 rail split into 4.

Like I said IDK anything about VisionTek PSUs, didn't even know they branded their own. Anyone have a review?
220  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: May 04, 2012, 02:50:36 AM
Having a strange issue with my rigs today.

Card clocks seem to randomly change, in both directions.
Each rig houses 3 5970s running at 725/250, I noticed to my clocks are jumping all over the board. I randomly have on GPU clocked at 820/300 on one rig and on another, 5 GPUs clocked to 725/1000 and the sixth at 750/250. I did not change these clocks and they have never been set to that.
