Looks awesome.  Did you you intercept them from people earlier in cue by making a deal with Inaba?  Are you a "quality assurance" and burning in the hardware and  causing a slight shipping delay? Is there actually anything hardware in those pretty cases?  If this is all shady deals, than you are a slick one my friend and I am quite jealous.

Just being the skeptic that I am  Grin

It seems like a brilliant marketing plan to draw in more pre-sales with a chance that you won't need to wait 12 months for your magic "beans". Oh... I mean "jalapenos"  Cheesy

Kudos to whoever came up with that scheme.

Found 2 blocks for p2pool in the past 11 days with 4.5Gh/s.  I should play the LOTTO Grin

P2pool.info is showing block 196436 as a p2pool block even though it isn't.

Rebuilding p2pmining.com....  Should be ready the week after labor day.

On my account it says that the third level sponsor received part of a reward, but the third level sponsor account has been 100% completed. Where is that reward going?

I posted this 2 months ago and there was no interest.  I sold them on ebay and got raped on fees. Where were you guys then? Huh

p2pool.info is showing a block (193781) that wasn't solved by p2pool

We have new records there:
Pool rate: 546GH/s Share difficulty: 1230
I have not found any share last 24hrs :/ Payout drop to 0.000 Sad
Time for me to switch to LTC. I wish we have p2pminig back...

I will release the code for p2pmining at the end of the month (as soon as I go down to Chicago to get my backup) if anyone wants to implement it. If someone wants to donate a server, I could set it up. If you just wanted to do bitcoin and namecoin merged mning, a VPS would work.

So it occurred to me that a higher difficulty might affect intensity settings in cgminer.

How does a diff10 setting affect what your intensity should be set to?  Lets say you have a 5970 at 800 MH/s... I9 is about right for that, but if it's diff 10 is that going to screw you?

When I ran p2pool with testing different share difficulties, Hashrates stayed consistant on cgminer with the same intensity setting.

If you think that my entry in p2pool is breaking up things, I can move my miners to solo-mining. I'm talking of around 250GH/s.

I joined having in mind to help p2pool to perform better, not to upset people.

Have you adjusted the difficulty to compensate for your high horsepower?

M

you can set manual difficulty with p2pool?

You can adjust difficulty by making the miner's user name <username>+<difficulty> for example: username+1

This would be useful to decrease the load on your p2pool node on big time hashrate miners.

You would not want to increase share difficulty above p2pool share chain difficulty or a miner may discard work that could have been added to the p2pool share chain.

This has been disabled in recent versions because forrestv thought the shares that where not difficulty 1 would screw up some mining programs.

To allow this to work, you need to edit the p2pool/bitcoin/networks.py file. On line 26 change:

Code:
SANE_TARGET_RANGE=(2**256//2**32 - 1, 2**256//2**32 - 1),

To:

Code:
SANE_TARGET_RANGE=(2**256//2**64 - 1, 2**256//2**32 - 1),

The other option (/) doesn't seem to be currently implemented anywhere (I PMd forrestv to find out about this)

CGMiner doesn't seem to be affected by different share difficulties from the tests I have done. That is all I can vouch for.
214  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: how to invest in ASIC on: August 08, 2012, 06:54:39 PM
If you want to invest in ASIC mining, you should invest in Pyramining

They are doing ASIC developement ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=80845.msg1071934#msg1071934 ) for their new infrastructure and a separate investment fund for ASIC only.

If you want to join Pyramining you need a referral. You can use the links in my signature for a referral.

This is the way to go for investing in Bitcoin mining.

It was a fun experiment.  I didn't get much info from Hostgator or Hivelocity.  The just said that the VPS image was corrupt and that the last backup was of the corrupt image so it wouldn't do any good.  Hivelocity let me ssh to a live image so that I could recover some stuff.  I recovered the wallet and it still had 5 bitcoins on it.  The live image is still active if anyone has any suggestions for figuring this stuff out.  I know I was testing and doing some mysql stuff accross servers without SSL so that might have been the attack vector they used.  Being able to intercept packets like that seems very difficult without some inside information.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many Bitcoins have been stolen in total? on: July 30, 2012, 01:32:20 AM
10BTC stolen from p2pmining.com (Really from the miners on the pool) .  Someone went through a lot of effort for $87.  Goes to show that even a site with even a few Bitcoins on it is a target.  I would suggest that any further Bitcoin ventures use servers under private control rather than renting one in a data center.

Looks like the hacker transfered 10 bitcoins from the wallet on the server. See transaction: http://blockchain.info/tx-index/12297515/8aa9fbe5d23519d0525a8f232cf60ce9ade710919a31a897b52faba04ebc05a1

18cfVDzcLQ91Xe4yGEs8uJFtHZUiZhmdks was the bitcoin address p2pmining was mining to.

Looks like the culprit formatted the harddrive to hide his tracks.  Server won't even boot, just goes to grub prompt.

There was only about 15 to 20 bitcoin in the wallet. I just got a message back from the dedicated service provider and it seems they can't reboot the server.  They get File Not Found and then it goes to the GRUB prompt.  I am still waiting to hear from the VPS.  If it is the same, I am boned.  The backup wallet was on the VPS. It would also mean that both servers where hacked.  Either way, I don't have any time to rebuild the free server.  I think I wasted enough money on this project by now.  Please suggest remidiation solution for lost bitcoins.

Anyone want p2pmining.com code or Domain?

Something is very wrong.  I have two separate servers from two different service providers and both of them won't let me even connect to them through SSH. One is a VPS that I use for DNS and experimenting. The other one is the Pool and Web server.  Both are down. Support tickets have been submitted for both servers.
