201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: @RogerVer lets make a deal. At least 60k, my BTU for your BTC. on: March 22, 2017, 08:40:25 PM
Really hoping Ver will actually come out and accept this deal, it'll really show that he believes in the chance for BTU to survive and it will provide a good amount of confidence in the rest of the people who are skeptical on which scaling solution to actually back.

Highly doubt he is going to though, as it's an insane amount of money to put forward on something like this. Plus, I highly doubt Ver believes this much in BTU's chance of survival and value after hard fork (if that occurs that is)

I am in to trade my possible BTU to BTC 1:1

Who wouldn't want to do this, gosh? BTU is a bit out their on their solutions too, Segwit plz help.
202  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Help me in my Crypto-Exchanges Survey - less than 2 min. needed on: March 17, 2017, 05:56:55 PM
Finished it here bud, hope it'll help whatever you're going to be attempting to write up on. Maybe your paper will catch the eye of someone who can help show that Bitcoin is a viable currency that isn't just used by the druggies like the media tried to portray it as in order to get more views on their channels.

Goodluck bud, wish ya the best.
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin became a byword / always a subject of discussion on: March 17, 2017, 04:52:35 PM
Hopefully the new reporting of bitcoin based on the fact of the rise in price is going to help it move from the narrative that the media had setup for bitcoin before, which was that Bitcoin was this crazy, anonymous drug currency which was being used online for the sole purpose of buying drugs. This was around the same time Silk Road was taken down and Bitcoin first came to light for a lot of people.

Maybe the truth will come out that Bitcoin is being used for legal purposes instead of people just thinking its a currency for the crazies who want to hide from the police their illicit activities.

He's going to be positive that it's in the news, either way.
204  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining fees will eventually kill bitcoin on: March 17, 2017, 02:33:53 PM
Mining fees are going to be a problem that we face at the moment but people are going to have to come to the conclusion that the miners are going to be needed to be compensated somehow, as the amount of new coins being generated by the bitcoin network are halving as we all know it.

This makes everything less and less profitable for the miners which in turn makes it less likely that people are going to be mining, let along spending hundred of thousands of dollars in machines that are never going to pay themselves off. The mining fees are the part that is helping to fill the gap from the halving, but I do know that this issue is going to have to be faced as no one wants to spend a huge percentage of what they're going to be buying on fees for using it.

Segwit please.
205  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Ledger Wallet Products - Advantages and Disadvantages on: March 17, 2017, 10:44:42 AM
Anyone get the ledger blue yet? It looks nice I must say but personally, I wouldn't see a use for something so expensive when you could just go ahead and buy the cheaper option without an issue. Highly doubt the differences are that insane (minus the fucking tablet part) It does end up achieving the same sort of task in the end-game.

I would guess they should be marketing this to customers that own large business and would benefit in a way to have something this big so they don't lose it, misplace it as easily and so on. Plus the security coming from this should be on par with the rest of the Ledger stuff here.
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTU Coin Questions on: March 17, 2017, 04:03:32 AM
Yeah this is never going to work out due to the bug that was found the other day, it's probably going to end BTC and put it oblivion based on the fact that if they can't even make sure their are no bugs in their code BEFORE they're even helping with the scaling solution it'll be a mess if we were actually to fork to BTU.

Thank god someone noticed this though and was able to put it to BTU, and I'm even happier they got caught lying when it came to them finding out about the bug as it really wasen't even them.

Segwit all the way!
207  Other / Meta / Re: BitCoinTalk.PW (Bitcointalk Proxy Website) on: March 17, 2017, 03:34:53 AM
Wouldn't put anything on that site before confirming it with an admin or someone on here that the site is actually run by an admin or someone along those lines with power on here. I'd highly doubt someone sophisticated enough to setup a system to auto-transfer everything from here to their is just doing it out of the kindness of their heart.

Gotta be some sort of big money involved in stealing some good juicy accounts on here with that phishing thing, if it is phishing like we think it is.

Steer clear.
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: i hate my self pls help on: March 16, 2017, 07:09:26 PM
Nothing we can do here buddy, this has been the constant issue for a couple months now due to the divide from the community on which scale-ability solution to pick in order to counteract this issue at the moment. Though, people must understand that trans fees must increase as the amount of bitcoins per block are decreasing and to fill that gap money has to come from somewhere.

It's tough to say, but I really do hope the fees take a nice nose-dive. It's pretty horrible to attempt to get someone to use a currency in which it takes a high percentage of the price of an item someone wants to buy to pay for the transaction fees on it. Normal people who pay their bills would rather just use their credit / debit card.
209  Economy / Speculation / Re: So, what's up with the price? on: March 16, 2017, 03:38:13 AM
I personally was one to think that the ETF was going to be denied anyway, on the means of it being way too risk for normal investors to be able to get into but that's besides the point. I think at the moment we're seeing a point where it may stable out at, and I hope it does. A currency that has such crazy flucations in value is really too risky / a nuisance for normal people to use in their everyday lives.

The price may see a slight decrease due to people thinking that we are in a bubble that will pop but personally I just don't think that's the case at all.

210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How about create .bitcoin domain ? on: March 15, 2017, 11:02:58 PM
In my opinion, it just seems to long and annoying for anyone to actually want to use it in their everyday lives. Imagine owning some sort of site where it is Bitcoin.Bitcoin or something like that? You can't even attempt to tell me that doesn't look dumb in the least as it really is just a big waste of time.

Tons of other domain extensions (or whatever they're called) which work fine and I'd rather to continue to use such as .com, .us, EVEN .xyz looks nicer then .bitcoin for crying out loud.

So, that'd be a no from me. For what that's worth.

211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A call to arms: Everyone to run a Core node! on: March 15, 2017, 10:48:37 PM
Don't think people are just going to run nodes out of the kindness of their hearts and to use a disgusting amount of resources on their part. It's tough to say, but people are going to need to be incentivesd in some sort of fashion to be able to do something like this.

People say that "why don't you just run a node" "it'll make everything better, blah blah blah"

People don't understand that without some sort of payment to be using my computers resources, power and so on, I highly doubt that I'd be wanting to join in. It's not like I don't belive in Bitcoin, I do.

I just don't see a reason and a reason (personal gain here) has to be made for it.
212  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BitStamp KYC out of control on: March 09, 2017, 02:34:49 PM
Seems like the normal KYC laws that are disgustingly intrusive on the amount of personal information and details they want about you, which I'm not really a fan of but it stops the bad guys from using bitcoin for bad purposes, at the expense of the privacy of the good guys!

their kyc process is tough

I wouldn't say this is their KYC process, this is the process of anyone who has to operate within the confines of a government that wants to fully know what everyone is doing and would like to be the full controler of the currency used in their economy. (US) I know other currencies, such as Coinbase, Kraken, and others have this issue to and must go ahead and do the same stuff all the time.

Where do you live?

This is because of some regulation in your country, if it is not required by law you can dispute it, but I seriously doubt Bitstamp would bother customers if it wasn't required by law.

Going to be guessing the U.S based on the amount of information they want, and I don't think you can dispute it even if it's not required by law. You'd just have to go to another company that doesn't go further than the minimum KYC laws.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ► Bitcoin Memes ! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ► Dank! ► Unlimited Supplies! on: March 09, 2017, 01:59:58 PM
I guess this meme is something that only real fit around the time of the media going ahead and saying that because of all the exchanges that were stealing money that went bankrupt and forced bitcoin into disarray. I guess this kind of fit the same model of the 2008 stock market crisis where some companies were too big to fail, but in Bitcoins case we were able to be fine even with the fail of the biggest company in all of Bitcoin.

Mt. Gox

Shitty watermark at the bottom, sorry about that fellas!
214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin value tops gold for first time on: March 09, 2017, 12:45:40 PM
This may seem like a major milestone to some and I do believe it is something to be proud of, but it's not going to change the fact that some people would rather have gold (the actual precious metal) in their possession instead of some keys (public and private) in order to have right to the currency in which they worked hard for. I'd be nice if we could do something like this with bitcoin but the actual coin held some bitcoin wealth and not just the gold on the outside of the coin.

Old news, and the price has dropped.

It's just a psychological price/unit comparison. There is tons of gold nethermind ounces. Market cap would be a better comparison.

Typically BBC, can't mention bitcoin without mentioning silk road.

Bitcoin has a bad rep when it comes to the regular public's light as the only thing in which they think of bitcoin is that it's used by a bunch of junkies on the internet in order to hide from people, when we know that isn't the case in the least. Typical fake news?
215  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ViaBTC offers a nice service for very small transactions on: March 09, 2017, 03:14:27 AM
Yeah the thing is with a service like this, is that when it was first released it was done for the sake of convenience and to get a transaction done faster. The sad thing about it now is that its pretty much needed if you want to send a small transaction (Below $5) and don't want to spend 10 percent of the entire transaction on fees that you're forced to pay either way. I didn't think I'd ever see the day where the fees would ever hit this high.

This service got a little too popular and it's pretty much causing a race to whoever can get  the first 100 hundred in as quick as possible so there transaction will be confirmed!

how long youre proces in confirmation use viabtc service
after you submit TX id and sending fee viabtc service, one hour or how long

Usually an hour or so, but it depends on when the next block is.
216  Economy / Speculation / Re: What keeps Bitcoin price stable? on: March 09, 2017, 02:27:13 AM
Only thing that is going to be keeping the price stable is rather simple, it's simple supply and demand when you think about it. If the supply matches the demand of bitcoin wanting to be purchased at any given time or moment, then the price is going to be stable at a certain price. If anything else occurs, such as they're being more demand then supply or more supply then demand the price will have a rapid increase or fall.

Some people may say that no new news about something keeps the price stable, but I think when new news comes out it just influences the buyers and sellers on what to do with the bitcoin they own, in my opinion it's rather simple. There could be some more to it in terms of being complex, but this is just a simple overview.
217  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The ETF situation is a definition of trading=gambling on: March 09, 2017, 01:18:29 AM
If the ETF is approved, it's going to join the ranks in ease of purchase with many other gambling operations in the US Stock Market. People can use the terms interchangeably when you say Trading Stocks is close to gambling, but the difference is when you go ahead and trade stocks (in this case the BTC ETF) you're given a good amount of information about a company that you can make decisions on. This information could be financial statements, current news, what the company is doing now, and so on.\

I highly doubt this'll be possible with the BTC ETF as it is going to be an ETF (commodity / currency) and not a stock which you can do some sort of technical analysis on. Though, I do wish all the best on the ETF as a whole and I hope we make bucket loads of cash.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fiverr.com forced to remove BTC as a payment option due to high fees on: March 08, 2017, 11:14:46 PM
This is also coming from r/btc so take it with a grain of salt based on the amount of moderation that goes on around their in order to push the narrative of BU being the only option that will be able to save bitcoin from the high fees that it's having an issue with now. Though, Fiverr removed this awhile ago and much longer ago than before Bitcoin was having this issue with the whole fees thing, so this is really just attempting to put a new spin on an old story.

If they did remove Bitcoin due to high fees, then there we have the result of our indecision... This would happen sooner or later. Let's see if anyone else does similar. Pretty sad to see it happening.

They didn't so, yeah.
Bitcoin was used to be payment method on HumbleBunble.com and they removed it long time ago. When high fee problem wasn't even that apparent.
Fiverr might not like BTC for some reason and used current situation where we have problems with high fees as an excuse to validate their decision.
They could simply add additional fee (for customers) to help Fiverr mitigate expenses - it is still workaround but far better that removing BTC payments completely.

I think it was removed on Humblebundle due to people buying tons of the games anonymously and re-selling it, and they couldn't track it cause they couldn't only make it a one per purchase or something along those lines. I'll look for the posting done by HB on bitcoin, It's a google.com away.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin was a great experiment. We learnt a lot from it. on: March 08, 2017, 09:51:09 PM
This is something that the people really have to get over, people say that they had fun with bitcoin and now it's time for a rebirth of it. (usually the people from BU say this) Did you know that the same thing was said about Democracy and the United States, as it really was an experiment in order to really see what would happen. Democracy looks wonderful on paper, but when it comes to reality it's got a ton of its own flaws but in my opinion it would be the best governing type in all of the world.

But back on topic, Bitcoin is a thriving experiment that isn't going to be stopped. I think it's going to thrive and become dominant just like the US is, it'll stand side by side with the other FIAT currencies such as USD and be able to stand the test of time.
220  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: saling bit coins on: March 08, 2017, 09:24:06 PM
Newbie offering a disgusting amount of discount on Bitcoin, wow this couldn't be a scam of any sort? When have we ever seen a newbie on this forum attempt to DEFRAUD the un-educated with such a cheap price. Please people, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Ignore this and anything else that seems like it could be a scam.

Fuck off, scamming scum. Though I highly doubt anyone will fall for this, so ATTEMPTED scamming scum.
